Filter attachments by name

Hi All,
I'd like my c100 Ironport appliances to filter (strip?) attachments of a certain name.
I don't want to filter by file extension (ie. vbs, scr, etc.), only by the full filenames.
I have a list of 20+ files I'd like the Ironport to lookout for, then strip and quarentine said files until an admin can review, release or delete.
I'm not seeing an easy way to accomplish this, short of creating a filter for each file...which isn't terribly efficient.

Unfortunately, there isn't a way that you can say this:
if attachment-filename contains terms in dictionary....and then list those filenames in the dictionary.
action:
quarantine('Policy');
What you can do, though laborious, if put them all out:
Option 1: (for different extensions)
if attachment-filename contains "(file1.txt|file2.doc|file3.xls|file4.zip)"
action:
quarantine('Policy');
Option 2: (for same extensions)
if attachment-filename contains "(file1|file2|file3|file4).txt"
action:
quarantine('Policy');

mma as given you the solution which would be helpful.
I can say workaround for this,what ever date parameter you want to convert to january....december
you can make an alias of that column as said above and write the filter on that date with a sql statement example as follows
select to_char(sysdate,'FMmonth') from dual
same way you take your requirement as select to_char(*your_date_column*,'FMmonth') from your_table

ColorSync Quartz Filter not accepting name

I have tried creating a new Quartz Filter for PDFX-3 in ColorSync Utility.
Besides the overall lack of documentation and guidance, I can not name the new filter with anything other than XXXXXX. Everything else just reverts back to Untitled.

I also have this problem, using OSX 10.8.5

to remove all attachments with *.exe, *.scr and *.bat

If you're trying to discard/delete the attachments outright, you could
use the following conversion channel entries,

        out-type=text; out-subtype=plain; out-mode=text; out-encoding=none;
        delete=1
out-channel=*; in-type=*;

        delete=1In this case, the message will still be passed thru, but the
attachment will be deleted. This is actually a pretty nice safety
net given the number of viruses coming in these days.

Attachments looses names when distributing from forms

Hi,
I use forms (RUN_REPORT_OBJECT) to run and distribute (to email) a report with additional attachments.
I dynamically create the distrubution list and store it and the files to attach on the application server.
The reports run ok, but in the email the attachments looses their name and get defaultnames like "PDD_ORDER07798975" where "PDD_ORDER" is the report name.
My attach tag in the distributionlist looks like:
<attach srcType="file" name="237959.jpg">
<include src="/usr/local/oracle/runtime/reports/prod/distribute/237959.jpg"/>
</attach>
When running the report from a url in the browser and with the same distributionlist the filenames is ok in the mail.
Another problem is that files like gif/jpg/jpeg get corrupted in the mail (pdf-files works fine) - this oocurs both from forms and from url...

Thanks for asking, Paul. Let me give more detail on the two questions:
(1)
We've received a lot of complaints from all over the world that recipients where not able to open our PDF form.
A portion of these complaints were resolved after we explained recipient that they had to upgrade to at least Adobe Reader version 7 or newer.
However, other recipient complained that they were still unable to open the form even with the latest version of Adobe Reader. These are the ones that we're concerned about. We don't know why they are having problems. Apparently, our files works on a number of computers with Readers versions 7, 8, and/or 9. But not on all.
Is it that the recipient who can't open the form have not installed their Reader properly? We don't know. Or is it that the form or form-generating software has some bug that causes problems on some configurations but not on others?
(2)
The behavior is not consistent. What worries us in particular, are recipient reporting that they can open normal PDFs but not this form.
One had the computer crashing, others got simply messages that they couldn't open the file.
Any ideas about the possible causes? Anyone similar observations?

Why can't I search/filter on display names?

See Question. Yes, it's 'display names', so I guess you can only see them on the display while thunderbird pretends to not know them really.
Still this is a less useful non-feature which annoys me a lot.

Display name:
is useful in identifying emails from specific people like family and friends.
It is more informal.
The shortened format means the 'From' column header does not need to be so wide - especially if these emails have been filtered to suitable folders.
for example: it is more user friendly to see FROM Mum instead of the long email address and many peopke do not always send emails showing their name.
However, like many things, you are not obligued to use it in the contact properties.
Regarding searching:
It depends upon how you are doing it. there are different search methods and each will search in a slightly different way.
If using 'Quick Filter Bar' then it does not search on Display name as those options are not available. It searches on Sender , Recipient, Subject and Body. But if the display name happens to be used in the body content then it will display.
If using global search then it does search on a display name.
Enter the display name in the search eg: Mum and select the Mum and email address option from the drop down offered.
It will show display name and email address, so you can select the search parameters.
If using this method:
Edit > Find > Search messages
This method searches on specific fields/headers and therefore will not search on a display name.
So I would recommend you try using the global search option if searching by a specific display name.

Filter on File Name

The filtering options in Aperture 3 is very powerful but I can't find a way of filtering on the file name. In the "Add rule" in the pop-up menu for filtering there is no choice of "File name" but a whole lot of other choices.
When I choose a picture and select "File Info" in the Metadata pane, I see both the version name and the file name. I can also sort my pictures using file name, but I can't create a filter searching for the file name.
Am I missing something?

Adding another filter to User Name is Prompted

I am trying to add an additional filter to a dashboard report that uses User Name is Prompted. I would also like to display opportunities that have the user's last name in the Opportunity Name field. It should not be the current user's name, it needs to be the same name as the Is Prompted Name.
Any suggestions?

Filter out member name

I would like to build a cube which allows hundreds of distributors with access to the cube. Each distributors only have access to own sales data. Using filter, I can block users of Distributor A from seeing sales data of Distributor B, but the users can still see the whole outline; therefore, they can see list of customers which belong to Distributor B. This happens when using member selection in both Hyperion Analyzer and Excel Add-in.I wonder if anyone know a way to restrict access to both data cell and member names that shows in member selection?Sam

I had the same issue with Analzyer Java Client. Our solution turned out to be devloping custom forms with only their selections tied in with another view group with the spreadsheets and graphs. Then by loading the html pages with Viewonly set to true. The user could not get access to the cube navigator i.e. everyone else's data memebers.Kyle R. I want to use powershell to return all users who are domain admins into a CSV

How can i filter the file names in SaveDialog box?

I have created a save dialog box. now i want to filter out the file listing inside the save dialog window. ie, i want to know how can i make entries in the "save as type" field so that it should be allowable for a user to select only html and pdf files.
It will be very helpful if there is a code sample of the same.

If you used the JFileChooser to create your dialog box, then the API documentation has an example of exactly that. (Okay, it uses different file extensions.)
If you wrote your own file save dialog box from scratch, then mimic what JFileChooser does.

Email attachments file names removed

I have a new problem with Safari 2.0.4 running on my Powerbook G4. When I download an attachment from my Yahoo account, it strips the extension and file name from it. It shows up on the desktop as "secure download". I then have to rename the file with the proper extension for it to open up. I don't have this problem when using firefox or downloading the same file from hotmail while using Safari for that matter. Anybody with any thoughts on why this started to happen all of a sudden? It's a real pain to have to rename all of the files I download.

File name conflict in File Download filter in Policy Studio

I am trying to use File Download filter to download the file from sftp server and saving it on local machine using Save to File filter. File format is ABC_MMDDYYYY,zip
i need to get the name of the file at run time. what would be Attribute Selector i should use in File Download filter for File name. I tried ABC_${date}
but its not able to understand that format. i tried lot nothing seems to be working.

IronPort Attachment Filtering using Content Filter Dictionaries

one of our customers experiences some Problems with filtering attachments based on their file extensions.
What we did: We created a dictionary with extension formats like ".exe" or ".cab"
Based on this dictionary we created a policy, that all Mails are scanned. If an attachment matching this dictionary is in the mail, this attachment will be striped and replaced by a TXT file.
In my tests this worked fine, only files matching are replaced, the others pass. BUT after activating the rule, we had the Problem, that a lot of attachments not having an extension that should be filtered where striped. So ".xls" or ".pdf" where striped too.
Can you help me how to configure it correct? Do we have to change something in the Dictionary? Why is this happening, any explanation?

We are doing something similar, but we are not using a dictionary. We specify the file extension in a content filter action of strip attachment by file info, file name ends with, and we use this regular expression:
(?i)\.bat
(?i) makes it case insensitive, the "\" makes the action search for the special character period (which in regex is a wildcard), and then the file extension.
When you save it, it will look a little off, the GUI adds some regex characters to it. the entry will look something like this on the content filter page:
drop-attachments-by-name("(?i)\\.bat$"
This expression will drop all instances of file extensions that have .bat, which includes all possible combinations. Examples include .BAT, .bat, .bAT, so on and so forth.
