Firefox Issue on Form Page

http://dev.pavemend.ads-websites.com/contact_page.html
My form page views fine with Safari, Chrome and Opera. When I view it in Firefox it is all messed up. Does anyone know how I can correct this problem? I created this form using a table to control the size of the form fields. Is this my problem?

Instead of using the html attribute size="50" try using css widths and set them in pixels.
#lastname {
     width:357px;
The html attribute for size is based off of the font used, in "characters wide". How that font renders between browsres can change the size.

• Where does firefox cache the form parameters to be used in the reload event of a page that was the resposne of a HTTP POST request?

Suppose there is form in a web page and it submits data in HTTP POST method. After submitting the form, if I reload the page [either by the refresh button or back button; whichever applicable], firefox asks permission to resend the form data by saying "To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action...". Now if the user clicks on the resend, firefox resubmits the form data.
So where does firefox store this from data for such future resending/resubmission?
Is it possible to retrieve/manipulate those stored form data?

I thought I'd tried that, as tried lots of other things like encoding URL, but obviously not as this works.
Thanks for the quick reply.

• When I code script window.history.back(); /script on a page due to a data validation problem, all browsers except Firefox redisplay the filled-out form page.

When I use javascript "window.history.back()" because a user enter invalid text, Firefox returns to the page with the form on it but it clears out the form. All the other browsers go back to the previous page with the form filled out as it was when submit was entered.
Firefox did not used to do this. I do not change browser settings from default to get this unfortunate behavior. This may mean Firefox is more secure, but only on a public computer. On a private computer, this sucks.

• My website that I designed will not work in Firefox. The only page that can be viewed or browsed is the home page no other pages work how can I remedy this issue?

My website www.gtecht.com works on other browsers. When viewed in Firefox only the home page works. How can this issues be fixed.

Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager.
Hot key; <Control>(Mac:<Command>)<Shift> A)
In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions.
Disable a few add-ons, then Restart Firefox.
Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause
Firefox issues. Disable All of them.
If the problem continues, disable some more (restarting FF). Continue until
the problem is gone. After, you know what group is causing the issue.
Re-enable the last group ONE AT A TIME (restarting FF) until the problem returns.
Once you think you found the problem, disable that and re-enable all the
others, then restart again. Let us know who the suspect is detective.

• Issues in editing a PK column from FORM page

Hi
I am creating interactive report and a form on a table T1 with columns A (this is the PK column),B,C, etc.. In the creation wizard I chose "Existing Trigger" for populating my PK column values for both the pages as in my case, USER will be giving/populating these values. Now in the form page, I change the 'Display type' of PK column A from 'Hidden and Protected' to 'Text field' because user has to use this column in form page, for creation and editing jobs.
Now, while creating a record, I have no issues, but while 'editing' the 'A' item from form page, the form gives errors like (ORA-20505: Error in DML) and (ORA-01403: no data found) and does not allow to edit this PK column. Any workaround? Please help.
Thanks
Bhavesh

On edit page, under processes region you will find various processes active on this page. Edit process which do DML operation on table T. On edit process page you will find 3 check boxes: Insert, Update and Delete. de-select the update checkbox and create ur own process. As the PK is editable, create one hidden item (say PX_A) on page which will preserve the value of the column A before editing. This will help editing the table row which is identified uniquely by column A only.

• I'm using Firefox 3.6.23 on my windows 2000 and lately i've been having issues with web pages loading and need help figuring out why.

Some of the issues : 1. Page loads blank showing web address in tab. Try reloading usually with no results.(problem have the most!) 2. Message appears "problem loading page, server not found" (diff times & diff websites). 3. Pg with msg "oops link broke, DNS error, server not found" then lists suggested links to sites for fix though all links connect to site IGEARED.COM. (new issue) I don't know what to do please help me identify and fix my issue(s) in english, kind of a newbie : ). thx

Try this.
Type in the address bar about:config.
Accept the warning.
In the page that appears, in the Filter box, type network.http.max-connections. Change the value to 32 (which is probably set to 256 in your case).
Close that page. Restart the browser.

• Firefox does not display page information correctly

On the form on http://ppbm5.com/submission.html select a raid level of Raid 0 for the OS disk and select the Number of OS disk next. The only choices you see are 3, 4, 5 and 6. The same applies to the project disk question and the output disk question.
Using Chrome or Internet Explorer the number of disks shown to choose from are 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
Firefox hides or forgets the option for 2 disks.
The form used shows up correctly in the Form Maker site, it shows up correctly in Dreamweaver, it shows up correctly in both Chrome and Internet Explorer.
My only conclusion is that this is a Firefox issue. What can be done to resolve this?
As it currently is, one can only tell visitors to only use the form with Chrome or IE.
PS. I tried with FF 4.0 beta 10 and the problem persists.
BUT, the strange thing is on two other machines, with FF 3.6.13 the problem does not occur, so something must have messed up my regular system to prevent the correct display of the page.
I tried disabling add-ons, extensions and plug-ins, but that did not help.

Did you use the same Firefox Profile Folder for the test with 3.6.x and 4.0 ?
Looks like a problem with JavaScript (Ajax).
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
See:
* Troubleshooting extensions and themes
If you the Firefox 4 beta version with the same profile then you should create a new profile exclusively for the 4.0 beta version and create a desktop shortcut with -P "profile" appended to the target to launch that profile.

• Firefox crashes when scolling pages in youtube

I've been having this problem the last 2 weeks, more or less. Firefox crashes when on youtube when I start to scroll or even when I try to go to another tab.
It doesn't seem to be the plugin that crashes because when that crashes it usually doesn't crash the whole browser, when it's only the plugin that crashes you get the message "shockwave flash has stopped working" or something like that, and if you click on the stop plugin button, it just greys out the video frame; I've had this type of crash too, yesterday, but not on the youtube site, it was on another site, in a page with several youtube videos embedded, maybe the two things are related, I don't know, but this type of crash only happened yesterday, and I dont' even recall the last time it had happened.
The other type of crash, as I said, crashes the whole browser, but I also noticed that it doesn't save a crash report; today it happened several times, but the last crash report is the one from yesterday, from the plugin crash I was talking about!
Also, I tried with internet explorer, and all seems to work fine, no crash when I scroll or view videos on youtube; also yesterday, when the plugin was crashing repeatedly, I went in IE and tried with that, and all was working fine.
To sum up, Firefox crashes when scrolling down pages on youtube, not always, but a lot, sometimes when switching to another tab from youtube, yesterday the plugin crashed repeatedly in a page with embedded youtube videos, no crash report for the first type of crash, IE work fine in both cases.
Finally, hardware acceleration in the plugin is disabled, I tried having protected mode in the Flash plugin both disabled and enabled, and no update for my graphic card is available.

I also did a system file check and it says "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them". In the log then, the only file that seems it was not possible to repair is "member file [l:36{18}]"Amd64\CNBJ2530.DPB" of prncacla.inf, Version = 6.3.9600.17415". The log is huge so I cannot copy it, I don't know if it's possible to upload a text file, but then again I don't think there's much more. As I said no graphics driver updates are available for my card. After the System file check I went to youtube and started scrolling up and down and the crash happened.

Thank you for clearing that up. I have another idea. There is a feature called accelerated scrolling in Firefox, however there are also modules that might be associated with malware. Options > Advanced > General > Smooth scrolling (uncheck this to test)

• When i try to open email (thunderbird) this is what I get: Error platform version is not compatible with minVersion =1.9.2.15 maxVersion =1.9.2.15 I understand this is a firefox issue. can you help? thanks, Jane

i have also tried to uninstall firefox to no avail
when i try to download 3.6.15 it works to 100% then is searching for viruses and there it stops.
i can get on the internet with firefox... but can't get to my email using thunderbird... but i was told the problem is a firefox issue.
yikes. i'm in over my head.

I had already tried a reinstall before, but thanks for the suggestion. Starting FF in Safe mode did not help either.
XULRunner is specific to FF. Mostly found discussion about using the code in web pages when I used Google before posting.
When FF went from version 3.6.14 to version 3.6.15 this issue started. Please note the Error message and the version info I just mentioned.
"Platform version '1.9.2.15' is not compatible with minVersion > =1.9.2.14 maxVersion < = 1.9.2.14"
The Platform was revved up from 1.9.2.14 to1.9.2.15
I could not find information on: minVersion or maxVersion much less how to change them in XULRunner.
It is definitely a Mozilla FF issue.
Avast sandbox is up to date and works just fine with everything else. More importantly it worked just before the update was installed.
The only reason I bothered with the update is because Mozilla touted it as a security issue and there was NO mention of any known issues with sandbox software.

• Firefox won't load pages unless mouse is moving or keyboard is pressed

Hello,
I've seen this problem listed several times prior to this post, but none of the solutions have helped me.
I've been using Firefox for ages and the last 3 updates or so have been exhibiting this issue. When I attempt to load a website, Firefox will begin to take me to the page and then hang. The circle in the tab will stop moving and it will sit there until I move the mouse or press a button on the keyboard. As long as the mouse is continuously moving or keyboard buttons are pressed, the page will load fine. The same thing happens with YouTube. The video will start and then freeze unless the mouse/keyboard is moved. Firefox also exhibits this behavior when I try to download a file from a website. The download will start and then hang until I move the mouse or press a button, then it will continue for a few seconds and hang again until I repeat the mouse movement or keyboard button press.
So far, I've tried updating Firefox, Java and Flash; starting Firefox in Safe Mode; uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox: doing a complete uninstall and reinstall of Firefox with profile removal and creation. I've run the following ad and malware detection tools with no infections found: Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, AdwCleaner, SuperAntispyware, Microsoft Safety Scanner, Windows Defender, Spybot Search & Destroy, Kasperky Free Security Scan and Anti-rootkit utility TDSSKiller.
The only thing that I've tried that "seemed" to work was starting Windows in Safe Mode with networking and running Firefox there. I was able to watch YouTube videos without freezing and websites appeared to load properly. Obviously, I can't run in Safe Mode all the time.
I've attached a screenshot of what it looks like when Firefox hangs on Google News. Notice that the images partly load, but a good number of them are either waiting or not loaded.
I hope someone can help me, since I really like Firefox and I'd hate to switch to Chrome or (shudder) IE.
Thanks in advance for your help!

• The sharepoint my company uses no longer works properly with firefox, only a blank page appears, is there a fix for this?

Hello,
We currently use Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 and it doesn't seem to be compatible with the latest version of Firefox (33). When I try to open a sharepoint page, only a blank page appears. I do not get any error messages. The sharepoint works with other browsers, such as Chrome.
Is there a work around available so that we may continue to use Firefox?
Thank you!

Do either of these typical troubleshooting steps make any difference?
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Command+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
"3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* click the globe or padlock to the left of the address in the address bar > More Information > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
In case one of your extensions is involved, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode.
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
* Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset).
Any difference?

• I can no longer receive my email through firefox. Also my facebook account doesn't show some of the profile pictures show a different person on someone's name. It appears this is a firefox issues as when I go to explorer it is not a problem at all.

It seems that through firefox I cannot receive my emails through charter.net and have always been able to before. Also, on my facebook page, profile pictures aren't showing up on some people and on some people a totally different person is showing up. It seems to be a firefox issue because when I get on internet explorer everything is fine? How can I get this problem taken care of? Can my 8.0 be updated.

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked.
*check the permissions on the about:permissions page and in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>Safe Mode</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance

• Self replicating form pages in Acrobat Pro 9 (Win XP)

Is it possible to make a single form page, with several text fields, a few drop-down menus, that will duplicate itself into a new page when a button at the bottom of the page is pushed?
If this is possible, is it also possible to have any fields, drop downs, or buttons, change their name automatically as each new page is created so that there are no conflicts of having multiple form items with the same name?
For example; Page 1 has a button, "Date1", that when pressed, will insert the current date into field "DateField1".   I press another button, a new page is created which is an exact duplicate of page 1 (with all fields blank) and now, on page 2, there is a button, "Date2", that will insert the current date in "DateField2".
If this is possible, how do I do it?
Thank you very much for any help you can proivide,
Nathan

GKaiseril wrote:
Have you looked at the documentation for the template object and the spawn method. You set the 'rename' parameter to 'true' and the spawning method will rename the fields in the template to be prefixed with "P#.templateName." where "#" is the zero based page  number of the spawned template and "templateName" is the name of template that was spawned.
A Lesson in Templates for Adobe Acrobat by Dave Wraight.
When I create a from that uses a template, I create the template and then spawn the 1st page of the form before the template and then work out the scripting for the 1st page and template and then hide the template.
Thanks, but I've already gotten past this point.  The issue I am having now is getting the javascript for the button to automatically append the page prefix to itself so that the button works on that page, not the page it was duplicated from.

I have been having trouble viewing pages in multiple browsers since last night. It has done this with me before. I am using an Acer Aspire and also Firefox version 23. For example- Facebook works and displays fine. It's when I go to websites like Amazon, Wix, Ebay, and others that I get the issue. The pages are displaying with a white background and just text/links and basic images. I've checked the page style and it is on Basic Page Style. Here is what I have:

Start Firefox in <u>Safe Mode</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
