First time to blue ray help please Asap

Hi,
Firstly - I have been asked to export a HD project fit for blue ray and since I have had no experience working with blue ray in the past, I thought I'd ask here just to be sure.
Project is HD 1080i50 in FCP. I have been asked to provide a Apple HDV 1080i50, 1440x1080 (1888x1062) file.
Please advise me on what settings to export (ie. via compressor, and if so, what preset do I select?)
I have FCP 7
Compressor 3.5
I know it may seem stupid but want to make sure.

All that has been instructed to me is to provide is:
Apple HDV 1080i50, 1440x1080 (1888x1062)
Been also advised to export via compressor and choose h.264 for blue ray preset. Although, this takes over 24 hours to do just 25 mins on my imac so you can imagine how long it would take to do a 1 hr 20 min export (also required).
Conflicting answers given... quicktime 1080i50 export or pro res?
Clarification needed please. For example, if you were given the above file format instruction, how would u do it?

HDV file - need to burn to Blu-ray, help please

I have a 75 minute 1080 HDV50i video file which I need to burn it to Blu-ray for a screening in the US. Can anybody suggest the best way of doing this? Do I need to convert it before burning? And what is the best way to burn to Blu-ray? I have an LG Blu-ray burner.

There are probably simpler ways of doing this but this should work. When your edit is done, duplicate your sequence, open the sequence settings for the duplicate and change the codec (or compressor) to prores 422.
Export this sequence with current settings. Open the resulting file in cinema tools and "conform" to 23.98 fps. (or the closest frame rate to that - some applications just give you a choice of a frame rate close to that). Bring this file into compressor or fcp and you should be able to make a blu-ray that is compatible with US players. All blurays in the US (and all US dvd players) can play 23.98 material as most feature films are shot at 24 frames per second and the transfer to video/digital usually involves slowing the film down slightly (just as most feature films in Europe are sped up slightly to 25 fps)
If there's a more straightforward method available, hopefully someone else will speak up. I've never done this but it should work. As always, I'd recommend making sure your end user tests the disk before the big showing.

Use Find Any File, if the old messages might have been in a specific mailbox, to look for a file by the name of the mailbox to see if there are any larger versions of that mailbox.

If your Mail is indeed gone, you may be able to recover it with one of the data recovery tools here:

But act quickly. Every action while the computer is turned on weakens its chances of recovery. There is a slim chance also your email provider may have tape backup from before you checked your messages and after it arrived at their server for certain messages. You may want to ask them if that might have happened.

Logging Issue (First Time Error, Second attempt success)- Please help

We have BO XI 3.1 SP2.We have developed a custom java sdk code for logging in. The code works in Dev and Test however the same code errors out when using another CMS name(Prod). Not quite sure how to troubleshoot the issue. Another note is first time when we pass the login values (System Name, User Id, Pass, Auth) it errors out and second time it logs in fine. This happens every time start of the application.

Yes we do have Support and we are working with them to identify the root cause. Still no luck so far!!!
No. It does not redirect to Infoview page,once the logon is completed it redirects to a product selection screen from there it uses an open document to view webi report.
We have tried clearing all the cookies, history, temp files everything and start with a new browser the issue still remains. Well the logon page writes cookies however it does only when it can create an Enterprise Session.
Yes the Prod Environment is at SP2 Level. The Prod has been set up the same way as Dev and Test. Well the same code works in both the environments. Unsure how to troubleshoot to identify the root cause.
Any thoughts is greatly appreciated.

Target & Max Bit Rate - A Little confusing Need file to be 15 GB Blu-Ray Help????

I have a 2 and a half hour project on PPro CS 5.5 that I want to encode in H.264 Blu-Ray. I want to get it to 15 GB.
What woud be the best settings to do so?
The Target Bit Rate and Max Bit Rate have a lot to do with it, but I am a little confused on what each of them really do.
I just want to get it to 15 GB and make sure the Estimated file size somewhat accurate.
Is 15 GB too big for a Blu-Ray?

Hi Jeff,
I just started to build just my menus with my QT files inside of them as a "Build to Folder."
I think I know why it's saying 7.1 GB used.
Since the menus in Encore stop and loop after 30 seconds, I did not like that.
I like to play a full song on each menu and then when the song ends, it starts again. If I did that on a standard 30 second menu in Encore, the song would stop every 30 seconds and start again. This was not acceptable to me.
This does not happen in DVD Studio Pro. In DVD Studio Pro, I can put in a full song with Videos in Video Zones, change the loop time to the length of that song, and the menu would play that song, and loop again when it was over.
I wanted to do this in Encore, so I had to make the menus a little longer than the song I wanted to put in them. I did that.
1) I went into After Effects with the background of the menu I wanted to use.
2) It comes in as a .psd file.
3) I then stretched it out to a length a little longer than the song. (For exaample, I'm using a song that is 4 minutes and 50 seconds, so I stretched out the background of that menu to 5 Minutes.)
4) I then rendered out that newly made 5 minute menu out of After Effects, using H.264 1440 x 1080i, 29.97 High Quality.
5) I then brought that newly made 5 minute background back into Encore and placed it over the original 30 second background in Encore.
6) Now the song and the videos inside the "Video Drop Zones" will loop until the song is over, stop, then the song will start again and the videos keep on looping. Just like in DVD Studio Pro
For this particular job I did this 6 times (1 for each sub-menu) depending on the length of the song I am using for each menu.
1) The first sub-menu is a 5 minute menu which, when rendered in After Effects, came out to be 1.5 GB Big
2) The second menu is a 4 minute menu which came out to be 1.2 GB
3) The third is a 4 and a half minute menu which is 1.35 GB
4) The fourth is a 3 and a half minute menu which is 1.05 GB
5) The fifth menu is another 4 minute menu which is 1.2.GB
6) The sixth menu is a 7 minute menu which is 2.1 GB.
When you add them up it actually comes out to be 8.4 GB just the menus without any videos in them.
So Encore has already compressed them down a little.
It's not the videos that are taking up much space, but these menus.
Since I am building my job in Encore to a folder, I want to see what the actual size comes out to be after it's compressd. This will give me an idea of how big I can make my 2 and a half hour wedding. The Target and Max Bit rate.
I hope that sheds some light on why Encore is saying that the menus and QT files are taking up 7.1 GB already.
I wish there was another way that I can have my menus play for the length of any song without having to go into After Effects and stretch each menu to accomodate the length of a particular song. This takes up a lot of space, but it's the way I like to make my menus.

Satellite P855-33X - canno past the first menu on Blu-Ray Disc Player

Hello,
I have a Toshiba Satellite P855-33X . Whenever I try to play a Blu-ray Disc (3d or 2d) on the Toshiba Blu-ray Disc player, I can never get past the first menu (either language selection or main menu depending on disc). I'm unable to click on the menu or use the keyboard to select the options on the menu, the bluray is unresponsive.
It has worked fine in the past so I'm wondering if there's been a recent update which could have made this an issue?
I have Windows 8, recently updated to 8.1.

Im wondering if you have updated the Toshiba Blu-ray Disc player after the update from Win 8 to Win 8.1?
On the Toshiba EU driver page you will find all the Toshiba drivers tools and utilities for Win 8.1.
Usually after the Win 8.1 upgrade, the software should be updated as well.

Disappointed: First time IPOD user needs help

This is the first time I have decided to take the plunge and purchase an IPOD. I decided to go all out and get the Touch. After tryng for a week to get it running and reading all of these posts, I am coming to the conclusion that this was a huge mistake!! It has been NOTHING but a headache.
Like other posters, my Touch is frozen with the USB cable logo. I tried ALL suggestions posted and in troubleshooting topics. I get as far as iTunes recognizing my device and saying I need to restore. However, every time I restore, it seems to be working but it never can finish and a window pops up saying unable to restore, and error occurred (1604).
Is there a way to get a hold of these people to get help? This is ridiculous and I am extremely disappointed! I thought Apple was supposed to be very user friendly. Any advice would be appreciated.

In the meantime, regarding your error message:
I'd attempt a clean reinstall:
Go into Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
Remove these applications:
1. Apple Software Update
2. Apple Mobile Device Support
3. iTunes
4. QuickTime
Restart the computer
Download & Install the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility:

Launch the Utility: Start > Programs > Windows Install Clean Up
Select any of the above mentioned applications, and click Remove
Restart the computer again
Download & install iTunes again from here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Prior to attempting to restore the iPod again, disconnect any and all non-essential USB devices you have connected to your computer... for example, disconnect printers/scanners but you can leave your mouse or keyboard.

1080/60p - Blu-ray help!

I realize this issue has been previously discussed in multiple threads, but I’m still having trouble understanding, and would greatly appreciate any help
The high definition Panasonic consumer camcorders (e.g. TM700, TM900, X900M) have five recording modes (not counting the recent addition of 3D and iFrame modes), specified as 1080/60p, and HA, HG, HX, and HE. The manual is not very informative, but specifically states that the last four are all 1080/60i, with varying bitrates, HA the highest and HE the lowest.
The consensus in this forum and elsewhere seems to be that if one wishes to output video to a Blu-ray disc, this is best done as 720/60p, as Blu-ray standards don’t support 1080/60p. I understand that part. But then it is said that therefore one shouldn’t bother recording in 1080/60p (except for archival or possible future purposes), but rather in, say, HA.
That’s the part I don’t understand. What is the advantage of converting 1080/60i to 720/60p, vs 1080/60p to 720/60p? Naively (and I am really naïve, I’ll admit), it would seem that progressive -> progressive would be more straightforward than interlaced -> progressive, and that therefore one should go ahead and record in 1080/60p. Am I wrong? Can someone explain it to me? Or point me to a thread where this issue is specifically discussed?

Exactly. Technically speaking 60i means 60 interlaced frames per second, and there just is no such animal. What they mean when they say that is 60 interlaced fields per second, which is the equivalent to 30 interlaced frames. The issue is that saying "interlaced fields" is redundant, kind of like saying a female woman. Nobody says that. You say woman, or female, but not both. Same applies here. If you list it as interlaced, you don't also list the fields, always and only the frames.
what do I lose by letting Premiere Pro do the conversion?
The best way to know is to run some tests. If you can live with the converted video on Blu-ray, go for it. If you find any artifacts that are objectionable, it might not be a good idea to shoot 1080p/60. (The i or p should go before the slash, by the way, not after the frame rate. That's another thing a lot of camera makers get wrong.)
AME means the Adobe Media Encoder. It's the program that get's called up when you hit Queue from the export settings dialog.

Error code is 2738...help please asap, anyone?

When I try to install iTunes v7, i get the error code is 2738 message. I tried doing what apple and others said to do to fix this problem and nothing has worked. When i try to register VBscript i get a message that says it failed return code was: 0x80004005.
When starting up windows, i get an an error that says "Can't find script engine 'VBScript' for script 'c:\program files\support.com\client\lserver\server.vbs" Could this have anything to do with the error i keep getting when i try to register VBScript??

I jsut tried Mark W. solutions by tryna down load the Latest VBscript but while downloadin it stops and says

and wen i trid to do Mark W. otha option which was clickin start and runnin wat he has posted it doesnt say it succeded it says --> DllRegisterServer in C:\WINDOWS\system32\vbscript.dll failed.

Husband got everything when sync for the first time... Help

I sync my husband iphone for the first time to my computer. I already had sync my iphone a long time ago. Some how he got all my apps and outlook calendar along with his stuff. What can I do to fix this? He doesn't want my stuff and I don't want his. How can I fix it so we have separate but on the same computer. The computer show two different iphone with our name.

When you copy all of your data from old computer to new computer (inluding entire /Music/iTunes folder), it will sync just fine.
It won't even erase the iPhone.

Plugging Ipod nano(4th gen) in for the first time... Help

I have the ipod nano 4th gen. I plugged it into the computer for the first time, and itunes comes up. It then says you can register now or later I just clicked later(I am actually doing this for my sister, I have and ipod touch that I did the same with) But anyways, I clicked register later, and then it tells me that I have to Read and agree to the software(or something on that order) So I read through all of that and at the end, there is a box you can check to say that you have read and agreed. I did that, but then you have to click a button to confirm/continue im guessing. Well, my problem is, that my computer screen is too small for me to see the button, in other words, I cant confirm/continue and am stuck there, I cant do anything else with the ipod with out continuing this step. I have tried to Maxamize the screen and dragging over. nothing seems to work.
Is there any other day to agree and confirm to this? If there isn't, is there a way that I can get to the confirm/continue button?

I changed my screen resolution to 1024 x 768,
yet I still cannot see the confirm/continue option.
