Flash in PDF is disabling acrobat shortcuts!? Anyway to stop this happening?

I've included some simple shockwave animations in a pdf to be viewed onscreen.
The flash content seems to be disabling the arrow key (or any keyboard shortcuts for that matter) page advance in acrobat.
Is there a way to stop this happening!?
Someone in the Acrobat forum mentioned adding "stage.focus = null" but I don't seem to be having any luck with it. They suggested I post her.
The code I have in my first frame looks like this...
stop();
playButton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, startMove);
function startMove(e:MouseEvent):void {
    play();
stage.focus = null
Hope someone can help me with this. Thanks.

Maybe you'll have better luck in the Acriobat forum since this sounds like it might be something you need to manage via the hosting file rather than the swf...

  • Acrobat has taken over opening PDF in Safari. How do I stop this?

    Preview has always been the engine that Safari used to open PDF in the browswer. Acorbat took over today for unknown reasons to me. How can I switch it back?

    No Acroabat at all. Now what?
    #%&*#$% Adobe! Sorry. I forget how invasive it is.
    In Finder, choose Go > Go to folder.. and type "/Library/Internet Plug-Ins" and press enter. Your PDF plug in should be there. Get rid of it. You will need administrator credentials.

  • If I click on a .pdf link on a site or mail, infinite blank windows open, all the while downloading pdf.part files. How do I stop this action?

    It does not matter what or where the .pdf is, so it is not a result of a particular website, rather it is a fault in Firefox. It just started in the last week.

    Could you check your PDF handling setting in the Preferences dialog.
    Firefox menu > Preferences > Applications
    Allow several seconds for Firefox to load the list, then type pdf in the search box above the list to quickly filter it. What do you have here? If you modify it to use a different viewer (such as Preview), does that help?

  • When relocating my itunes, I lost all my metadata for albums that I had originally imported from either CD or bandcamp. Is there anyway to stop this from happening?

    I wanted to access my itunes music from an external HDD as my mac mini only has a 256GB SSD. That was fine, I did that correctly as the forums suggested, however looking through my library It appeared that I was missing a fair amount of music! Right down the bottom of my library was a whole bunch of songs with '01 *trackname* ' then a whole bunch of '02 *trackname* ' so on and so forth. This was all my missing music! I realised after a short moment that this was indeed all the music that I had imported either directly from CD or music I had bought from Bandcamp (so originally it had all the album/artist/artwork/year etc etc) Now I've had to go through and look up each album and re-sort them myself. I want to know how to make sure that if I do need to ever re-import my itunes (HDD failure etc) that all that metadata will stay the same.
    Thanks!

    AIFF and ALAC will both preserve tags in the files itself as well as what is stored in the library file.  It is still best you do the move the library properly as there are some metadata only stored in the iTunes library file and this data will be lost if you end up re-adding a file, but at least most will be saved.
    ALAC is the same quality as AIFF but smaller files (~60% original).
    Various things you mention set up small red flags.  If you are sharing a library you have to be careful.  A library is all the media plus all the support files which give it the structure you see when you open the iTunes application.  Only one person at a time can open the library file itself (iTunes library.itl).  Several people can simultaneously share media but if you want several computers using the same media at the same time you will have to set it up so
    each user has their own library file and share the same media.  The main problem there is if one person makes changes to the media the other person has to be notified because iTunes iwll not automatically update a library file if something changes in the media folder.  I could type another 30 lines on this topic and won't unless you specifically need to configure things a particular way.
    Another red flag is "network".  Is this a NAS?  Plenty of posts on the forum where iTunes has problems using those. Probably many people with no issues but it seems to be a constant issue with some.

  • I can no longer open PDFs on my computer. The first time this happened I deleted Adobe and tried to download it again. I consistently get "down load failed to initialize" when I attempt to do this.

    I've updated Firefox.

    You have some sort of issue with the external drive, I would use a powered USB hub first if it's not self powered.
    Next I would be looking at purchasing software to direct recover your files from the 1's and 0's of the bits themselves on the external drive as it appears your directory or something is hosed.
    Software that comes to mind is DataRescue $99 which you can download and test first before buying, then send the recovered files to another blank external drive.
    Once you've got your files recovered, then your all set to mess around and experiment.
    Try to access the files with the program version that originally created them, I'm not all that up to speed on iMovie, but I do know there are issues with using older Apple software versions with newer version altered files.

  • HT4623 my iPod is the first generation i think and i can't get my iTunes to recognize the device and when i go to settings and the general there is no "software update" to select to update my device. is there anyway to make this happen?

    help

    The Software update started in iOS 5. The 1G can only go as high as 3.1.3
    To get your Mac to see the iPod
    iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
    If you have OSX 10.6.8 do not omit the Additional information Paragraph
    To more easily find compatible apps:
    iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
    Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.

  • My AMD Driver crashes and recovers almost daily. Is there anyway to stop this?

    It doesn't bluescreen, but when I'm watching youtube videos, the video will randomly stop and it'll say 'the amd driver has disconnected and successfully reconnected'.
    Do you guys have any suggestions to helping me?
    Edit: Forgot to add, it's a windows 8.1.

  • Cannot disable Acrobat PDF support in Safari

    I want to disable Acrobat PDF support in Safari. I open Acrobat 8.0.1, go to Preferences>Internet, and uncheck "Display PDF in browser using Acrobat 8.0.1". I click OK.
    However, when I quit Acrobat and Safari and re-opened Safari, Acrobat PDF was still enabled. I went back to Acrobat, opened up Preferences, and sure enough the "Display PDF in browser..." checkbox was checked again!
    So I unchecked it once more and clicked OK to close Preferences. I figured I'd open Preferences once more to see if it worked - and to my amazement "Display PDF in browser..." was checked again!
    It seems it is impossible for me to turn this off. Any ideas how I can disable this without uninstalling Acrobat?
    I've tried going to Help>Repair Acrobat to disable the PDF plug-in, but it doesn't appear in the list. The only plug-in listed is the one for making PDF files from Microsoft Office applications.

    Chris,
    Go to HD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ and remove AdobePDFViewer.plugin.

  • PDF toolbar disabled on some sites in IE8 (Acrobat v8.1.3)

    Hello,
    Recently we have come across sites that do not allow a conversion to PDF through the Adobe PDF toolbar in IE8. The toolbar is greyed out.
    For example, when searching google.com for acrobat, the results page has a greyed out pdf toolbar.
    Has anyone else come across this? I can replicate this on a range of other sites too (though it works for the majority of sites).
    I've looked at http://forums.adobe.com/message/2829007 and we do have all our add-ons enabled.
    Cheers,
    Rhys

    Even if I go to http://acrobat.com/ I still have a disabled toolbar.

  • Disabling keyboard shortcuts in Flash CC

    From looking at past threads, it appears that Flash users were once able to disable keyboard shortcuts in the Flash player window when testing their programs.  This option seems to have gone away in Flash CC (or has hidden itself very well).  This is problematic for me since I'm relying on key presses to dictate which frames my program goes to, but can't test to see if things are working properly without disabling Flash player shortcuts first.  Does anyone know of a solution to this problem?

    ned is correct.  that feature (unfortunately) was 'deprecated' in flash pro cc, http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flash/cs/using/WS3e7c64e37a1d85e1e229110db38dec34-7fc2a.html (the 'The Test Movie command and keyboard controls' section).
    in addition to neds suggestion, another poor option is to test in your browser.
