Freexing movements during WM cycle count

Hi Gurus
strange issue we are facing  -
When we start the Cycle count in WM , it freezes the creation of TR, TO for all the materials for which Phisical invetory document is active , But in case the Sales Order having 4 items and physical inventory is active only for 2 parts , its does allow the delivery for those other 2 parts as well.
Could some one help me if there is something config missing , or solution How Can we freeze the delivery for tht part if there is a physical document active for one of the part in Sales order..
thanks in advance..Points will be rewarded for helpful answers
BR

Hi
Thanks for reply...
I agree tht system should pick the 2 items for delivery for which cycle count is not initiated ..but as I mentioned I have 4 items on Sales Order , cycle count is initiated for 2 of them.. but with the physical invertory document active for these 2 ..
system is aloowing to make delivery for all four items..which I dont see is correct..
is there any option to restrict the delivery ..only for the sales order items for which cycle count is active..
could you pl send me some guidelines..

  • IS- Retail - Cycle count during business hours

    Hi ,
I am trying to do cycle count thru the POS system, and this is during business hours.  We want to perform cycle count at the stores using the POS system and update SAP.  I checked in SAP Help and its very confusing and its not step by step.  The config path provided in SAP Help also is not updated.  Is there any documents or materials that anyone of you can provide me.  Any information provided is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Amauris.

    Hi,
SAP has introduced this new functionality called Physical Inventory during Opening hours along with EhP3 along with POS DM. Which means in case you want to carry out physical inventory during business hours, you will require POSDM as well as EHP3 installed as well as relevant Business function set activated to carry this out.
In case you do not have POSDM in your landscape i dont think you can do it.
    Hope this helps

  • Add new batch during count entry (for cycle count by quant LICC)

Hi! We are using LICC for cycle counting by quant as we have mixed storage and do not want to count all the materials in a single bin. Most of the materials involved are batch-managed. One issue we have is we may discover other batches during stock take. In this case, how can we add this to the stock adjustment since we cannot add new item when we use cycle counting by quant?
Appreciate your suggestion in this case.
    Cheers!
    SF

    Hi,
Whenever you find discrappancies, in this case founds, you will note these down and first do an analysis whether this particular batch has been written off in the past as lost. When not, you will make a MB1À or MIGO booking to add this found batch to stock. When yes, you could do a reversal of the issue or do a new receipt.

But im getting a date format error?
Anyone who could help me regarding this?
    Thank you in advance.

    HI All,
I have check my own data date format.
But when i tried to activate the cycle count under
    Menu path:
Materials Management > Inventory Management and Physical Inventory>Physical Inventory> Cycle Counting
I will not put any date on it, that's why its weird that i get an date format error.
    Where this error came from?

  • Trigger cycle count when zero qty is picked

I need help with the following issue.
Currently when the user confirms a TO with LM05 and selects confirm with differences (and enters zero qty picked) the system cancels the TO but no additional steps are taken to ensure that the cycle count team knows of the inventory variance ..
How can we trigger a cycle count in this instance when we are confirming with differences and Qty picked is 0.
Can someone please outline the steps needed in config.

Ah, I see you dont even have a problem with cycle count, you just do not know how to enter the scrap quantity during the daily work.
It depends, as everything in SAP, on the process were the scrap material appears.
If it appears as a by-product in while you produce something, then the quantity is created with movement type 532
But if you create this scrap if a worker damages soemthig, then you issue the damaged material with 201 to a cost center, and then you do a 202 movement to create stock at a scrap material master.

  • Cycle Counts

For 47 Months 589 Cycle counts Good?

Cycle counts mean absolutely nothing except in the very old age / death of the battery
Sort term abuse kills a battery, not cycle counts.
I can abuse a battery and ruin it with only 50 cycles.    Ignore cycles, focus on abuse.
General consideration of your MacBook battery
Contrary to popular myths about notebook batteries, there is protection circuitry in your Macbook and therefore you cannot ‘overcharge’ your notebook when plugged in and already fully charged.
However if you do not plan on using your notebook for several hours, turn it off (plugged in or otherwise), since you do not want your Macbook ‘both always plugged in and in sleep mode’.
A lot of battery experts call the use of Lithium-Ion cells the "80% Rule", meaning use 80% of the full charge or so, then recharge them for longer overall life. The main quantified damage done in the use of Lithium Ion batteries are instances where the internal notebook battery is “often drained very low”, this is bad general use of your notebook battery.
A person who has, for example, 300 charge cycles on their battery and is recharging at say 40% remaining of a 100% charge has a better battery condition state than, say, another person who has 300 charge cycles on their battery and is recharging at say 10-15% remaining on a 100% charge. DoD (depth of discharge) is much more important on the wear and tear on your Macbook’s battery than the count of charge cycles. There is no set “mile” or wear from a charge cycle in specific. Frequent high depth of discharge rates (draining the battery very low) on a Lithium battery will hasten the lowering of maximum battery capacity.
All batteries in any device are a consumable meant to be replaced eventually after much time, even under perfect use conditions.
If the massive amount of data that exists on lithium batteries were to be condensed into a simplex, helpful, and memorable bit of information it would be:
    1. While realistically a bit impractical during normal everyday use, a lithium battery's longevity and its chemistry's health is most happy swinging back and forth between 20% and 85% charge roughly.
    2. Do not purposefully drain your battery very low (10% and less), and do not keep them charged often or always high (100%).
    3. Lithium batteries do not like the following:
A: Deep discharges, as meaning roughly 10% or less on a frequent basis.
B: Rapid discharges as referring to energy intensive gaming on battery on a frequent basis (in which case while gaming, if possible, do same on power rather than battery). This is a minor consideration.
C: Constant inflation, as meaning always or most often on charge, and certainly not both in sleep mode and on charge always or often.

  • Cycle count and inventory document generation

    hi.
Currrent Scenario : Cycle count has been configured for Quarterly cycle count for 20 materials.
Float period has been set for 5 days.
Procedure : Customer wants to do inventroy count for the  20 materials at the rate of one material per day.
Question : 20 Materials falling under "C" quarterly cycle count show up for Physical inventory.
Can the customer create an inventory document for <b>inventory count each day for each material</b> or will they have to create 20 inventory documents for count at one go since the float period is set for 5days.
Will the float period indicated play a part if the physical inventory is planned for each material on separate days.
Or if an physical inventory has been planned for the quarterly managed material, all material in that category say "C" would anyway show up during the quarterly inventory cycle count period. And the inventory count can be done for each material on seperate days.
    Thanks

    hi Arif.,
Earlier situation : Cycle count procedure was only A.
Present situation : Cycle count procedure is now ABCD .
But only C.c indicator A is still active for all material. We have not
changed the Cc indicators for any material.
    Transported to production on Friday.
    My question is :
On monday ,when the batch program was executed for printing of inventory
documents, Why does it generate a whole lot inventory documents for
Materials which have not been inventored even when the C.c indicators
remain A for all the Materials. We have not even in-corporated the
Quarterly cycle count indicators for the few selected materials.
    Should the system:
    1. Print Inventory documents only for the current period or
    2. Is the system behaving properly due to the change in Cycle count?
Only the Cycle count procedure has been changed to 4 times in a fiscal year.
Do review the information and update me.

  • How to find the user ID who has deleted the Cycle count document?

I am interested in knowing how we can know the User ID who has deleted the Inventory Cycle count document deleted using LI02N. I have checked the table LINV and also in the storage bin Inventory data. But in storage bin inventory data only counter name is captured if it is assigned during activation of inventory cycle count document. But it may not be necessary that counter has to delete the inventory document.
Kindly advice me how can I get to know who has deleted the Inventory Cycle count document.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Best practice for retail store cycle count

    Hi experts
Would you have any experience/best practice in designing for cycle count process for your clients?
By cycle count, I mean for frequent counting (daily) for specific item category / exceptional count request.
My client want to implement a cycle count process to minimize the effort for full stock take which happen around 3 times per year.
They are using SAP as the core system to keep track of inventory, and using external store system, so some considerations would be on, for example:
    - whether the count variance or counted quantity shall be interfaced back to SAP
    - whether SAP should be the source to initiate a stock count process or POS initiate
It would be very nice if you can share some best practice as in the process flow, system information flow, etc.
    Best regards
    Dominic

    Hello
Both can be done but as you say SAP is the core system at least for tracking inventories, better create and integrate inventories is SAP aswell.
The main advice I would give is to avoid specific tables for inventory integration because standard tables and specific won't be updated well sometimes and support would be needed, stick on standard transactions.
If the inventory is centralised in SAP, you can for example count them with PDA, send to SAP connectors your counting which will be integrated from a xml file transformed in a Idoc for SAP.
One parameter is important to consider as the freeze for inventory. You have to decide if you take into account any stock movement that could occur after your inventory creation or not. If you do, the variance after the counting will depend on the initial stock value and also the movement.
If you don't, the variance will only take into account your initial stock value withotu considering the stock movement.
    Hope it helps you,
    Génia.

  • Inventory cycle count report

    Hi
We need to implement inventory cycle count report . Is there a standard business content data source for this ?
    Thanks and Regards
    Arun

Sorry I never responded.  It's really just a matter of what you need to report on.  ISEG has all the basic information you need like plant, material, sloc, etc... so the other tables invovled is really a case by case type of thing.  I can't think of much else you would really need for generic cycle count reporting.
Also, the previous post is a good method depending on your needs.  If showing difference postings and whatnot is suitable, then go with the movement type.  But if you need to dig deeper into it by showing system/counted quantities as well as the difference, then the custom extractor would be the way to go.  For me, I did inventory accuracy/cycle counting type of reporting that needed to consider the actual quantities, as a difference of 2 units on an inventory of 100,000 units is a lot different that 2 units difference on a balance of 100 units.  But that was just my case is all.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Physical Inventory & Cycle counting report

    Hi,
Would like to reports on Physical Inventory & cycle counting.
Also would like to know a comparitive report which should show before & after Physical Inventory alsong with Qty & values per plant & material.
Will be pleased if I could have at IM level & WM level also.
    Regards,
    Vengat

    Hi,
    1. You can use T CODE- MI23 -Display Physically inventory data for material.
    2. You can use T CODE- MB59 -Give material code/plant code/Mov Type 701-702/Posting period -Execute (F8) >> Click on current display variant button (Ctrl+F) for selection "Amt.in loc.cur".
    Thanks & Rgds,

  • Inventory - Cycle count history

    Hi,
I wanted to know is there a form/report, which can show the details of the historical cycle count Runs?
i.e. if we schedule to the cycle count eg. every week, is it possible to see what all items are counted 3weeks back run?

  • Cycle Count in MM

    Dear All,
If my client wanted to setup the cycle count (MM) with A, B, C and D indicator, what would be the best way to perform the test? I can't afford to wait for months to perform the test.
    E.g.
    Plant     CC Indc.    Interval
    0001          A            6
    0002          B            3
    0003          C            1
    Material M1 - CC Indc. = "B"
    Another questions are:
    1. How do I distribute the Percentage for each CC Indc.? As far as I know, it cannot be more than 100%
        right?
    2. Can I set more/less than 4 indicators (Standard: A,B,C,D) as long as the percentage is still 100%?
    3. Assuming that the material M1 is using "B" (CC Indc),
        a. Will the system auto-trigger/create the physical inventory document for the relevant materials or the
user still needs to manually create the physical inventory document?
        b. If the document is not auto-created, is there anyway to set it with auto-creation?
        c. If the document is auto-created, will there be a chance to change the planned count date?
    Appreciated for your helps.
    Thank you.
    Warmest Regards,
    Edwin Fu

If my client wanted to setup the cycle count (MM) with A, B, C and D indicator, what would be the best way to perform the test? I can't afford to wait for months to perform the test.
Read OSS note 518418, it describes how the system selects mateials to be counted. Based on that you will know what you have to manipulate to do a good test.
Anyhow, if you enter a wide inventory period e.g. 09.Jan - 31. Dec., then SAP should as well be able to give you a wide variety of materials to be counted.
    1. How do I distribute the Percentage for each CC Indc.? As far as I know, it cannot be more than 100%
    right?
yes 100 % is the limit.
    2. Can I set more/less than 4 indicators (Standard: A,B,C,D) as long as the percentage is still 100%?
    yes
    3. Assuming that the material M1 is using "B" (CC Indc),
    a. Will the system auto-trigger/create the physical inventory document for the relevant materials or the
user still needs to manually create the physical inventory document?
No. User has to start the PID creation. This is usually done manually, as you have to organize many things before you actually can do the technical part in SAP. (Especially you have to inform all people who are doing movements that they have to enter everythig what was moved has to be entered before the invetory document gets created, for that reason I would never let the system create the document by its own with a scheduled job.
    b. If the document is not auto-created, is there anyway to set it with auto-creation?
You can schedule the creation, but see my comment above
    c. If the document is auto-created, will there be a chance to change the planned count date?
For what reason? Maybe because you dont have time to count? Thats why I recommend to create the documents by user interaction.

  • Dynamic Cycle count

    Dear Guru
    Can anyone explain me about
    1) what is dynamic cycle count
    2) How to configure
    3) Transaction level process flow
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Manish Kumar

    Hi,
A scenario for dynamic cycle counting can be as follows.
Say i plan to count 100 bins in Storage type A.  If we approach the normal inventory procedure route, here is what happens:
    1. Create inventory document.
    2. Activate the inventory document
    3. Enter count.
    4. Recount if necessary.
    5. Clear inventory document in WM
    6. Clear in IM.
One of the disadvantages in this case is ..when u want to count 100 bins (say Bin 1, Bin 2, Bin 3......Bin 100) and say u have 1 document active for all 100 bins, all bins would be blocked for stock placement & stock removal. So if i am standing in the aisle counting Bin 1..and somewhere down the long aisle bin 100 is also blocked..so i will have delivery blocked for picking from bin 100.
To avoid this, one option is to use the dynamic cycle counting principle. If using this option, i can go to Bin 1 (create inventory document & count & clear in one step), then go to Bin 2 ( and count it on the fly)...and so on. So, i dont have to block all bins at once, i can count bins as i move along the aisles in the storage type. DCC also allows to count bins that have open TO's.
You would need to activate cycle counting indicator for storage type under LE>WM>Activities>Physical inventory to at least use this functionality. Then try to make use of the programs available for RF as Prashant has mentioned or maybe modify them as needed.

  • Physical Inventory vs. Cycle Counting

    Hi Experts -
In the absence of the Cycle counting indicator and ABC Analysis is it safe to say that Cycle Counting is not a relevant scenario?
Physical inventory is different PI doc > Count > Recount > Clear differences.
What is the standard functionality if both the ABC and CC indicator is not set?
    Thank you.

    Hi Gary,
you are right if the CC indicator is not set in the material master then cycle count is not a relevant scenario. Cycle count is one of the method however you can define the system for Continuous count or Annual inventory  in addition to both the option you can also activate
PlcmntInv(Continuous inventory upon placement into stock)
ZeroCkin (Continuous inventory based on zero stock check during removal of stock from bin)
The normal Physical inventory process is
    Create & Activate a PI Doc (LI01N)---- Count (LI11N) / RecounT (LI14, if required)------Clear difference in WM(LI20) ---Clear difference in IM (LI21)
SPRO-----LE---WM ---ACTIVTIVES----PHYSICAL INVENTORY ------DEFINE TYPE PER STORAGE TYPE
