Freeze frame and video monitor

i played the timeline sequence and watched on a video monitor where some freeze frame pictures made from clips (moving images) vibrate. is there method to change ways in which i make freeze frame so that it does not vibrate/shake when viewed through a television monitor?

Hey
Your going to want to add the filter called de-interlace. Click on the freeze frame in your timeline then got to effects, video filters, video, then de-interlace. That should do it

  • New computer and video monitors for HD and PP CS5.5

    Dear All,
I have recently updated to Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Master Collection to work in conjuntion with Final Cut Pro.  I've been working with a Canon XL-1s, taping with mini-dv format in Standard Definition up to this time but am thinking of buying the Panasonic AG-AC160 AVCCAM and upgrading to High Definition.
I'm working on a Mac Pro and have been using a View Sonic computer monitor and a Sony Video Monitor that I've had for years -- left over from the old analog video tape days, but it still seems to do the job well.
I'm learning Premiere Pro CS5.5 and the suite seems to be working o.k., so that is not a problem at this time.
My question is:  If I start working in high definition, do I need to change my computer and video monitors in order to get professional results from my editing software?  I have done documentaries and want to do them in high def and have the best video for podcasts and mobile applications.
I don't want to spend another gazillion dollars on monitors if I don't have to, but I do want to provide the best video that I can and I will buy what I need.
Thanks for your suggestions and any info you can provide.

    Dear taz291819
Thanks for your help.  I have one more question.  Do I actually need two monitors or will the computer monitor serve as a video monitor?  I'm used to the old analog process of viewing the final video on a video monitor, but with HD, I would think that the computer monitor would give the same result as a separate video monitor.  My ViewSonic would work, I'm sure, but it's a bit small for the HD format and I would like a bigger screen to work on.  So, can I just use the computer monitor for editing and viewing the final product?
For Harm Millaard, I just think that HD will produce a better final product in small formats viewed as podcasts or on mobile phones -- plus almost everyone wants everything in HD now, and for some of the things I will be doing, it will undoubtedly give a better product.  I want to upgrade my camera anyway, so I want to go to HD.

  • Capturing freeze frame from video source

    Guru's,
I need to extend a video clip another 2 seconds. Easiest way would be to take a freeze frame of the last frame and extend that out for 2 additional seconds. How do I get that freeze frame out of the video clip that is being used in my motion timeline?
    Thanks!

That's not the easiest way. Go to the Properties tab of the Inspector. Open the Timing section at the bottom. Set the End Condition to Hold. Now in the miniTimeline, extend the clip for as long as you need.

  • How do I freeze frame my video?

I have a video, but I want it to be freezed frame on the first frame for awhile while I put(build) some animation over it, then I want it to start playing. For some reason when it comes on screen it immediately starts playing. I've tried everything with the quicktime button in the inspector window but I can't get it to simply stay on the first frame for awhile while I build other stuff before I want it to play. How do I do it?
    Thanks,
    Brian

I tested for OP and again just now and it works for me with automatic builds on both the text and the movie. No need for "On Click" that I can see.
Poster Frame is a good tip but in this case OP asked for the first frame which is the default for QT movies poster image.

  • What is the port for on the left of the w500 between the eathernet and video monitor connection?

There is a port on the left side of the w500 that is next to the video monitor connector. It looks like an HDMI port but is square on one side. So I do not think it is hdmi. What is that port called and what is it for?
I want to hook up the computer to a tv for the kids to watch netflix.

    Hello mate,
It's a DisplayPort (that's its name) It's like an HDMI port but it's different
All you need to plug your tv is a cable DisplayPort to HDMI and it's all good. You normally won't have sound because the port is for video only. You will need to plug a cable from your audio out to your tv.

  • Ipod freeze unexpectingly and video problems

I have the older version of a 60 gb video ipod. Everytime my battery reaches halfway, my ipod freezes. Then after like 15 minutes, it shuts off. After it shuts off, it won't turn back on. After an hour later, I would try to turn it back on and it would show the 'out of battery' icon. But I barely even use up the battery yet.
Also, everytime I try to view a video, the video always freezes. And blue lines starts to show up. Sometimes the audio would screech too.

  • Frame-By-Frame and Video Editing Questions

    Hello All-
I am very new to Flash, and this is my first post, so please
be patient - I will be happy to clarify anything if you are good
enough to try to help me.
I have generated a large number (15000+) of unique JPEG
images - all of which are simply composed of a rectangular area
filled with a single color. Each of these JPEGs is numbered
sequentially and each is intended to be a single frame in an
"animation." I have chosen to work with Flash because I want the
finished movie to be deployable on the internet and in a number of
situations - both foreseen and unforeseen.
So far, I have been able to import the JPEGs in sequence into
FLA files, with each image becoming a keyframe in the file. I have
also been able to export these files as Quicktime movies. I have
found that I can only make an FLA file up to a certain size
(roughly 4500 frames) before my system starts to have problems.
This means that for my first project, which will be just over 10
minutes at 25 fps, I have made 4 separate FLA files (3 with 4500
frames each, and one with about 2000 frames). At this point, I am
having trouble figuring out how to make a new FLA file that will
"play" these four clips in succession as a single movie. I have
been working through the Flash Documentation and have also looked
at some of the Video Workshop clips, but I am not having success. I
am not committed to the 15000+ jpegs being embedded in the final
file, but I would like to know how to do it with them either
    embedded or not.
Essentially, I want to know the best way to export the FLA
files I have made (as I said above, I have exported them as
QuickTime movies, but I am not committed to that if there is a
better way) to a compressed format and then to edit them together
as a simple sequence of clips to make a larger movie. There are no
titles and there is no traditional animation of a figure on the
stage. The clips look like a series of subtly flickering lights -
just the series of colored fields playing one after the other with
    no transistions between frames.
I hope someone can help and offer my sincerest thanks in
    advance!

I used the Python script to generate the images. I am
learning that language, too, and had help to write the script that
created the 15000 images. It may be possible to use Python to
assemble the JPEGs into a video file, but that is going to take
time to learn how to do. I was hoping that I could take advantage
of Flash to do this part.
It sounds to me like your proposed solution involves writing
ActionScript commands into an FLA file. Is that correct? I have not
worked with ActionScript, but I am willing to try that. Could you
suggest a resource I might go to learn how to write the necessary
    scripts?
Also, it sounds from what you say that I can simply export my
FLA files as SWF files. I will try that and let you know how it
    goes.
As far as the "better ways" to do this, I am very open to any
suggestions. I may be able to get Quicktime Pro, Premiere, or Avid
MC. Perhaps I just need to abandon my idea of making this a Flash
project and do it as a video in one of those other programs.
Thanks so much for taking the time to respond to my post. I
have other projects in mind that I would like to do with Flash, and
am encouraged by the receptiveness of the community.
    Cheers!

  • H.264 web video loses audio sync and freezes frame in JW media player

    Hi,
I am trying to put my H-264 video (.mov) that I compress with Compressor on the web to play in JW media player. The problem is, after 30 seconds of smoothly playing, the video starts to lag, freezes frames and ever since then the audio do not sync with the video anymore (can be as far apart as 10 second). Strangely, this only happens on the longer videos.
I am assuming it has something to do with the compression setting that makes the file is too big and thus create streaming bottlenecking? Maybe I should readjust my parameters?
this is the setting I use:
    File Extension: mp4
    Estimated file size: 104.3 MB
    Audio Encoder
    AAC, Mono, 44.100 kHz
    Video Encoder
    Format: QT
    Width: 480
    Height: 270
    Pixel aspect ratio: Square
    Crop: None
    Padding: None
    Frame rate: (100% of source)
    Selected: 29.97
    Frame Controls: Automatically selected: Off
    Codec Type: H.264
    Multi-pass: On, frame reorder: On
    Pixel depth: 24
    Spatial quality: 75
    Min. Spatial quality: 25
    Key frame interval: 24
    Temporal quality: 50
    Min. temporal quality: 25
    Average data rate: 0.819 (Mbps)
    Thanks,
    JD

Thanks for the input. What do you mean by encoding it as H.264 not mp4 - which setting affects that?
    Maybe I already has it?
here is what I have now:
    Video compression setting
    Compression type: H.264
    Frame rate: current fps
    Key frames: every 24 frames
    Frame Reordering: Yes
    Compressor quality: High
    Encoding: Best Quality (Multi-pass)
Data rate: Restrict to 800 kbits/sec
    Optimized for: Download
    Sound
    Format: AAC
    Channels: mono
    Rate: 44.1 kHz
    Show advanced setting: yes
    Render setting:
    - quality: normal
MPEG 4 AAC LC Encoder Settings:
    - Encoding stratey: Average bit rate
    - Target bit rate: 96 kbps

    File format: Quicktime Movie
    Extension: mp4
    Allow job segmenting: yes
    Video setting: Enabled

  • Render or export substitutes random video for series of freeze frames

I've got a sequence that seems to act ok until I render or export to QT, at which point random motion video is substituted for the freeze frames I edited together to create a sort of stop motion animation. I tried trashing the 3x preferences I know, tried a new sequence, tried a new project, tried digitizing the material again (originally brought in as HDV, but I brought it in as regular old DV after I thought that might be the issue.)
If I keep the series of motion fx simply nested, it acts ok. If I attempt to put a widescreen mask on it, it looks ok until I render. I tried a workaround of exporting the un-masked sequence out to QT to try and bring that back in and mask it, but the QT also fills in with the random motion video bits.
Any ideas? I'd happily trash prefs, etc. again if someone's had a similar prob.

FYI - I went through and recreated each freeze frame and it's working now. No idea why it was doing that, but some of the freeze frames were made from setting speed to 0%, others from Modify-Make Freeze Frame, so maybe that had something to do with it. It didn't happen on every freeze frame, but the problems didn't correspond to how the freeze frames were made either, so no clear answer. On second round, I did every single one with the Modify-Make Freeze Frame command, and now it's rendering ok. Fingers crossed.

  • Make freeze frame without blur on motion

I want to make freeze frame on video but the problem is sign language signing make blur motion. I need to get sharp clear make freeze frame. Is there a way that can make sharp to make it freeze frame.
    video clip is 1920 x 1080, 30 fps
Make freeze frame is for book so need to make motion clear? How?

Then there's not much you can do now.  It would have helped a little if you'd have used a high shutter speed on the video camera, but that's water under the bridge.
The only thing I can think of off the top of my head would be to find another frame where the hand wasn't moving then export both frames as s till image.  Open both in Photoshop and make a selection of the hand then copy that to the first still.

  • Freeze Frame Rendering Problem

I have a problem with the rendering of freeze frames that are part of a one-hour video I created in Final Cut Express 4 when burning the video using iDVD.
I'm exporting the video from FCE to a non-self contained Quicktime movie which I then drop into my iDVD template. One or two of the freeze frames (5 10-second freeze frames and 5 5-second freeze-frames) end up with a vibrating horizontal motion.
This does not occur when I play the video file in Quicktime -- the freeze frame is solid as a rock. I've burned the DVD using all three "quality" settings in the iDVD project settings, from "best performance" to "professional" quality. Every burn ends up with a vibrating freeze frame when played from the DVD.
All the rest of the video is beautiful. I'm not sure if this is a rendering problem or some other setting issue in iDVD. All help or suggestions appreciated.
    Mike

IMHO, the best thing you can do is keyframe some motion on your freeze frames. In all likelihood, you are dealing with an interlace issue. A TV screen use an interlaced signal where one line is drawn quickly followed be the second. In motion video, you will never notice interlacing. On a freeze frame however, you will certainly be able to see it. If you add some motion (Ken Burns effect), you can minimize this. You could try keeping the freeze frame... frozen and use a de-interlace filter.

  • Unwanted freeze frames at end of clips

Hi! I use iMovie 08 v 7.1.1 (529). My project is in 16:9 format and the video I use is 1280x720px .avi files (mjpeg codec) taken with a Canon TX1 camera and imported into iPhoto's library.
I have done about ten small projects in iMovie now, some are just clips strung together with cross disolve and/or ripple transitions between them. Other projects also have a background audio track extracted from long clips.
Lately, for no apparent reason, the video in some clips in my projects freezes about 0.5 to one second before the end of the clip. The transition to the next clip goes ahead with the unwanted freeze frame, and the background audio keeps playing - thereby going out of sync. This problem is apparent both when previewing the project in iMovie before it is exported, and also in the exported videos. (I have exported using Quicktime and .mp4 format - both as .h264 and MPEG4 Improved.) The first time I noticed the problem was when I was exporting a project at 10000kbps video (which probably was a bit higher than needed). Now the problem happens all the time, regardless of bitrate.
The strange thing is, these projects exported perfectly a few days ago. Then, trying to export them again now, the freeze-frame problems occurs.
When control clicking clips in any of my projects and selecting "Reveal in event browser", I now get the message that "the event for this clip is no longer available". Asking iMovie to "Reveal in Finder" works like a charm though.
    Anyone got any ideas?
    Cheers,

The following information is extracted from the FCP User Manual, and gave me an explanation to such black extra frame at the end of my edits that I used to fund too. I hope it helps you.
Learning About the Out Point Inclusive Rule
Before you begin to set In and Out points, it’s important to understand the “Out point inclusive” rule that Final Cut Pro follows, so you can avoid an unexpected extra frame at your Out point.
Out point inclusive means that when you set an Out point at the position of the playhead, the frame that the playhead is on is included in your edit. This rule means that whenever you set In and Out points, the minimum duration set is always one frame long. For example, if you place the playhead on a specific frame, and then set both an In point and an Out point, the In point is placed at the beginning of the frame and the Out point is placed at the end, resulting in a one-frame duration. If this rule did not exist, it would be
possible to create edits with zero duration, which would be useless.

  • Trouble with making a freeze frame?

    Hello All,
I need some help with something I'm trying to do.  I have a short clip in my timeline that I have color corrected and added some filters to.  Then I move the playhead around until I find a still picture that I like and then I go to Modify>Make Freeze Frame and then I move the still from the viewer over to the section that hold all the files.  The trouble is that when I make the freeze frame FCE is giving the version before I did color correction or adding the filters.  How do I get to make a freeze frame that has been color corrected?  It's showing me the raw version before I've done anything to it.
    Thanks for your help.
    MIke

When the freeze frame is created in FCE, it is only from the master clip (with no filters applied).  Simply drag the filters that you applied to the clip to the new freeze frame.  The filters will be applied with the settings you made.

  • Freeze Frame not working

I'm using iMovie 10.0.3. When I try to do a freeze frame of a clip, it just creates a black clip.

Did you place the playhead on the frame of the clip you wanted as a freeze frame and option F on the keyboard or freeze frame in the modify menu? If that gives you a black frame it could be a media problem or an iMovie problem. What's the parameters of the clip? You can open the clip in Quicktime and look in the Inspector window to see the properties.
