Generate and record with NI 6251

Hi,
i have a NI 6251 and want to generate n periods of a signal and record it again.
Recording should start at the same time as the generator starts.
I tried something, but i got stuck. Perhaps you can give me a good hint?
I tried the Codecapture Tool to show my code here. Hope used it

Hey Jonas,
now I finally figured what you problem was. Just use the property node for the read vi and set an offset off 1.
If you don't want the Signal to be moving in your graph while continuesly acquiering data in the while loop - make sure to set the number of samples to any numbe ending with 99.
One more thing - I am not so sure, why you want to use an external counter for setting the sampling clock. That way you can only use predefined frequencies - the counter only has certain steps to count down the onboard Clock.
Using the onboard clock directly will give you far more possibilities to set the frequency to any random number you can think of.

Thanks. The purpose of this was to 'fool' the horrible compressor/encoder over at Youtube. Inserting a 20khz tone in the mix tricks the compressor and effectively bypasses Youtube's butchering device. What I did was downloaded Audacity (free) for Mac. Audacity has a 'generate tone' capability which can be recorded. I then 'exported' my 20khz tone as a wav file and 'imported' same into my GB mix. Et voila! I can now mix my sine wave tone to the specified 'workaround' levels which I had seen posted on the net. ~King

PCI-4461 - Generate and Record Tone

Hello,
I am trying to play a tone (1K for Example) and record the tone using a microphone. I am using a PCI-4461 to generate and record the tone. I managed to make a somewhat functional program but there are some issues I would like to clear up:
1) I had to make a start and check time function to determine if the tone plays and is recorded for the appropriate amount of time. If I remove the while loop the tone does not play. I tried using the DAQmx wait until done function but it does not seem to make a difference. Is there anyway I can play and record the tone without monitoring the time?
2) The recorded waveform always has a delay which seems dependent upon the sample rate. Ex: 10000 Samples/Sec results in 83 sample delay, 20000 Samp/Sec results in 114 sample delay. I read in some other articles that samples are stored in the buffer and that reading 60ish samples before the actual measurement would clear up the problem. I tried reading samples before the tone is generated but the delay is still present. Currently I am using post processing to remove the delay, is there anyway to only record the tone that is played. Am I triggering the read properly?
Let me know if I should post the VI. Also incase anyone is familiar with acoustics how do I convert a waveform of Voltage vs time to dBV/Pa

How can I include a MySQL table and records with the PUT of my Dreamweaver site?

I am using .php to validate a user code against one of four codes that I am providing to potential clients. They enter that code, along with a default user id and the appropriate page is then displayed for them. Everything is working fine on the desktop. I need to have this table and the records created on my remote server. I tried saving the table in the Connections folder, but that didn't help. Everytime I enter a code (valid or invalid) on the live site, I get the following message: "Table 'boundsauctions_com.promocode' doesn't exist". Is there someway to include the table and records in my Dreamweaver folders for the site?

You can't. Dreamweaver, or FTP for that matter has no connection to the MySQL database. If you have created a MySQL database locally and now wish to move/copy it to your server you'll need to create a back up of your local database and then log into your database on the server and then restore that back up.
An even easier way to do this, and if you are working with MySQL much at all a good investement is to get the commercial version of Navicat MySQL - this is the best MySQL administrator I've found to date and is well worth the few bucks to buy it. With Navicat you can connect to your local MySQL database and also create a connection to your remote database, then literally drag and drop your local database contents to copy them to your server. This function alone justifies buying Navicat. A huge time saver. And no I do not work for or have any share or ties to Navicat. I'd recommend something else if I knew of anything better, but so far I don't.

Macbook pro and recording with GB

Hi. Im considering buying a macbook pro this one:
2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4MB on-chip shared L2 cache running 1:1 with processor speed
2GB (two SO-DIMMs) of PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 SDRAM memory; two SO-DIMM slots support up to 4GB
and Id like to do some multitrack recording with it using garage band and a 16channel tascam DM3200 digital mixer. Can garage band 08 record 16 tracks simultaneously?
Id also like to know if this laptop will handle 16 tracks simultaneously with some plug ins without strain. Anyone doing something similar?

How do I monitor and record a MIDI instrument on Garageband?

I may be missing something simple in Garageband setup. I want to monitor and record a drumkit via its MIDI output. It is a Yamaha DTXplorer so I have Subtlesoft Midipipe installed and a Focusrite Saffire 6 USB converter. Microphones and guitars are being monitored and recorded with without problem. When I connect the Focusrite to my Macbook air and drumkit the MIDI indicators are blank, no MIDI input detected by Garageband. Then I close GB and launch Midipipe, the MIDI input detected light on the Focusrite illuminates and GB detects one MIDI input (Saffire 6) in preferences window. But if I select new track/software instrument Saffire 6 input is grayed out and so cannot be selected (if I select the mic or guitar sources it is bold and can be selected). If I go ahead and create the software instrument there is no monitor button and nothing is heard or recorded.

What is the best way to uninstall and reinstall the Focusrite MIDI interface driver. And to uninstall and reinstall the Subtlesoft Midipipe (which is required to get the correct mapping for a Yamaha drumkit)? This was done for me at the Apple Store One On One session in a prior attempt to fix this problem but obviously it did not work. I'd like to try it one more time with the drumkit connected. I did see a screen at one point which allowed me to select the inputs from the Focusrite but I could never find it again. I don't think it was a Garageband menu but somewhere else, maybe during the driver or software install for the Focusrite. I would love to get back to that screen again and take a hard look at it.

Data acquisition and frequency generation togather with PCI-6251 and LV8.2

I am a new user of Labview. I am using LB8.2 with PCI-6251 .
I have to generate frequency and then measure the data and then for next frequency and so on.
i know that for this i have to use looping and that is not a problem. The real problem for measurement is to identify whether the frequency is been generated. if yes then measurements starts otherwise it should wait until it started. then after finishing the measurements send a signal to generator for changing the frequency and amplitude.
Now these two things {generation and measurement} togather are not working correctly for me. so i make 2 diff file, one for generation and other for measurements <by modifying the examples>. I can run both file togather and it works. But it need lots off effort and time. I have to measure from 10Hz to 1000Hz in 2Hz frequency step and i cannt leave in between .
can anyone help me how to syncronize these two togather .

How to open up Forms and navigate to record with external hyperlink?

Hello,
I was wondering whether it is possible to open up a Forms Application, and navigate to a specific Form and record via an external hyperlink. For example in an e-mail a hyperlink is generated which should redirect the user directly into the application and to the correct Form and record ID.

I suppose this is theoretically possible. The hard part would be to figure out how to pass the equivalent of a ParamList or a Global Variable to a form from a web page. Then you could test for these ParamList or Global values in the called form and navigate to the desired Form and query a specific record. I've seen some demo's on OTN where they embedded a Form into a Web Page and was able to interact between the web page and the form and vis-versus. Unfortunately, I can't remember where I saw the demo, but it was just recently that I saw it. If you can find this demo, it might give you some ideas how to do what you are trying to do.

Error when generating Alter Record scripts with project PPLTLS84CUR

I am trying to install HR89 + PT849 on REL5.4 + Oracle 10g manually under the guideline of official document: PeopleTools 8.49 Installation for Oracle.pdf
After Database creation, need to upgrade Peopletools from the delivered version 8.46 to 8.49
In page 570, Task B-15-6: Alter PeopleTools Tables, need to generate build scripts from project PPLTLS84CUR and then run the scripts from SQLPLUS side.
Bu when generating the scripts with user PS/PS, the App Designer got error message as following:

click OK, process can continue but the result can show: "Error: APPR_RULE_HDR - Alter process was unsuccessful. (76,42) "
not only this record but also many others.
In client PC which running app designer, the memory is enough for app designer, 1G free. Really hard to understand such error.
Any reply will be much appreciated.

client pc is running on windows 7 and UAC is already disabled.
current user running app designer is belong to Administrator group, hence, this may be a client security problem.
I search on oracle website and found a page said this maybe a bug and be fixed from 8.49.11, this is why it is working on 8.49.13, and the wordaround solution is use non-vista pc, such as windows xp. :)

Error connecting integrator and record store with fetching the metadata

I am trying to fetch crawled data from record store in integrator and then upload them in a data domain. I am encountering an error regarding the connection between integrator and record store (error while generating metadata), It says "Exception encountered connecting to the record store and writing the metadata with the following message: Transport error: 404 error: Not Found". Please suggest the required action.

I found a installer for Quicktime that was not connected to iTunes and installed quicktime again.
Everything is now working.

Problem with Adobe Audition 2.0 and recording from a 1212m.

I bought a brand new machine and have be configuring it all week. Everything has been going well, except getting Adobe Audition 2.0 (the new version) to “hear” sound from the 1212m.
The intel 975 motherboard has an integrated HD sound system already on board and I have been able to get adobe audition to recognize it and record from it. This is what I have Windows XP Pro set to as my default sound card.
I installed the 1212m and I have gotten my monitors to work by using the XLR jacks on the monitors to the ¼ inch jacks on the 1212m using a VST (NI’s Kontakt 2) as the audio source. So it works.
What I can’t seem to get to work is getting Adobe Audition to “hear” the sound coming from the 1212m.
Patchmix seems to be working ok. The audio bars jump each time I hit a note on the keyboard.
I have configured Audition by going to Audio Hardware Setup and setting it to EMU ASIO and tried every combination of INPUT and OUTPUT, but when I hit the Record button in Audition it just flat lines..
I was hoping that once the audio made it from the VST though the 1212m and out to the speakers, that getting Audition to record it would be easy, but that hasn’t been the case.
The Intel 955 Extreme Edition and the 975 motherboard are brand new and I’m worried that being on the bleeding edge of technology, that one of the drivers isn’t working correctly and causing me hours of debugging a problem that is unworkable from my end.
Hopefully the problem is just some small stupid thing that I’m doing or failing to do (like normal).
Any ideas would be helpful.

I'm just saving it into a file in "My documents" on the internal hard drive. It's a computer in the office which has been used my other people before me and I have my own file which I was always able to save Adobe sound files into before, so I don't think it's anything to do with me not being allowed or read-only.
I've also been trying to save it onto USB hard drives. This works when I save it under a different name, but not when I'm just trying to update a file i've been working on. Basically I have to create a new file everytime I add something, so like "myaudit1", "myaudit2", "myaudit3" etc etc, even though it's the same piece of work just updated.

I am working on a summer project to create a functional test system for four different types of PCBs. I will use a test rig as an interface to these PCBs, where each type will be identified by its position. Please see attached UML as to how I want the program to run.
I want a user settings box pop up when the application is started, where the operator must enter his name and choose which type of board. Further, after entering these details, I want the application to start testing according to which type of board is in the system and which type the operator indicates (the user prompt for card details is just a precaution).
I am trying to figure out what sort of architecture I should use for the LV part of it. So far I've managed to run the AWG and digitizer as two seperate VIs, but I've read a little bit about using the Producer/Consumer architecture, and want to know if this is a good idea? And which parts should be where? The AWG will input data to the PCB, which will be recorded by the digitizer and then testet using a mathscript and recorded to file.
So I figure I have to use some sort of event and sequence structure. For example, I want to output two sinusoidal signals with different frequencies after each other and check the voltage amplitude of the scoped output signal and record this.
If someone could point me in a direction of how to start, I would be very happy. After looking through some of the topics here, I have seen that it is often suggested to use the producer/consumer architecture, so before I do a lot of work which I might have to re-do I want to ask for help will post my solutions as I go.
