Generating report issues

Sharepoint is not giving a user a particular option within a report on his computer when it does give him the option on another computer. He has the permissions set correctly.

That is what I checked on. In one of the reports that he has access to should give him the ability to choose the "all" feature in a drop down box but it doesn't on his computer. If he is logged into another computer computer, it does
give him the option. I have tried to see what the difference is between the computers and I am not able to find it. I even tried different browsers and it is the same result.

Jasper report issue report row 65535 but can't generated correctly

We are trying to create report with jasper report . The issue is sometime generated report can be open.
Below is test case and result .
1.     when dummy all the returned field of procedure to 1 and 20000 rows are to printed in report. The file size is 7564K. The excel can be open after several minutes waiting.
2.     When dummy the procedure only return 5000 rows with actual data, the field type may be char, number. The file size is 2010K. The excel can be open quickly.
3.     When dummy the procedure only return10000 rows with actual data. The file size is 3999K. The excel cannot be open.
What the issue may be?
Below is our code.

Issue while generating report using web.show_document with https

I am facing some issue while seeing the report using web.show_document as shown below:

In this case the report opens directly without asking for me to save or open or cancel option
whereas if I hit

it asks for save or open or cancel option
so that I can save the report to my machine and open in wordpad format
The report generated in the first case is not coming in proper format

and the same problem occured
the file is located on my local C drive in:
C:\lcs\export
seems as though I am missing something else as well

Deadlock with thread issues while generating reports with Crystal Report XI

We are facing deadlock with thread issues while generating report with Crystal Report XI
Version Number is 11.0 and the database used is Oracle
In the log file on line number 74350 by 2008/12/16 13:35:54 there is a dead lock with Thread: u20184u2019 is waiting to acquire lock for 'com.crystaldecisions.reports.queryengine.av@15214b9' which is held by the Thread: '0'.
And a dead lock with Thread: u20180u2019 is waiting to acquire lock for 'com.crystaldecisions.reports.queryengine.av@15214b9' which is held by the Thread: '4'.
Exactly after 10 minutes we can see the thread 4 and 0 are declared as STUCK by 2008/12/16 13:45:54 .
Is this an existing issue with Crystal Report?
Is there some solution for this problem?

Thread 0 is waiting to acquire ''com.crystaldecisions.reports.queryengine.av@12e0415'
So I'm thinking ??? are they the same objects?
My specific question concerning the ReportClientDocument is that both are calling open - i.e., trying to open a new report. You wouldn't be trying to open different reports using the same ReportClientDocument - so was wondering if you've cached the RCD and trying to open two different reports at the same time on the same instance via different threads.
You'd normally tie a ReportClientDocument instance to a HTTP Session, to ensure each user gets their own copy.

How to test a generated report in my application by using web test written with Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate

Hello,
My application generates report in different formats, such as: Adobe, Excel, XML, CSV and HTML
I have a webtest that makes all preparations, then generates a report.
In my application I have an option either to save the new generated report or open it.
When I try to open the new report, the web test doesn't see it and therefore not allows me to test it.
Please refer me to knowledge base or let me know how to resolve this type of issues.

Since this web performance test is used to verify the Http request/respond work correctly in VS, and the browser session is then displayed as a list of URLs in the Web Performance Test Editor.
However, as you said that you want to test a generated report in my application by using web performance test in VS2012 Ultimate. If the report is not as the Http format, so I think that it is not possible to test a generated report by using web performance
test.

Unable to generate report for size of KM folder

hi all,
i want to generate report for size of folder in KM.I am havingthe following roles content admin,content management,system admin,home, are these roles sufficent to generate report or any roles are needed?
And other issue is after going into Content management role I am clicking reports workset but I am unable to see "Folder Size Calculation" option, any full access are needed to see it.
I am following help.sap link plz don't send it ,give me any other Material.
After starting the Km report in Resource Statistics its showing size as zero.

Bi Publisher - not able to generate report using webservices

hi all,
I couldnt able to generate report in bi pulisher,using web services.
once i done with all the settings which is required for the creation of a report in webservices type, i couldnt able to view the report. If i do so im getting error message like "The report cannot be rendered because of an error, please contact the administrator." . We have uninstalled and reinstalled the FSRM role service but are still having the same problem.
Anybody have any ideas?

From the error message, it failed because of "invalid argument: storagetype = '101' ".
101 means the storage type is "system" + "cache". Is there any change on your storage before the issue occurs? For example whether the source storage is changed?

Getting error while generating report from Siebel (Siebel/BI Publisher)

I have completed the integration of siebel and BIP according to the oracle document, I successfully upload the sample template from siebel application to BIP server.
But now I am facing two issues,

This specifically means that the destinations have not been configured in the Crystal Job Server. If you're running 4.x, this may be part of the "Adaptive Job Server" instead of or in addition to a Crystal Job Server. If you're using 3.1 or earlier, you'll also have to set up the destination in the Destination Job Server.
You'll have to log in to the CMC, go to Servers, right-click on the correct job server and go to "Destinations". You'll then add something like "File" or "Unmanaged Disk" to the available destinations and save. Stop the job server, start it again, and your error should go away.
Please be aware that unless you're using specific credentials to schedule the report or you're saving to the server where BO is installed, you'll need to make sure that the BO services are running under a network "Services" account that has access to the folder you're scheduling the report to. By default during installation it's set to run under the "Local Services" account that doesn't have access to the network.

FREC Error while Generating Reports in Quality Center

Hi,
We usually generate reports using Dashboard module of Quality Center . While generating reports on a particular PC, we are getting the following error.
The SQL Query <sheet1> has failed to run, with the following error:
Returned Result is not valid FREC.
We are able to generate the same report on a different PC.
Does anyone encounter this issue earlier? Could someone help us out in solving this issue.

Issue popped up with me a few times and seemingly uncontrolled.
I resolved one query with replacing quotes in the string i.e. replace single with double by replace([field],chr(39),chr(34))

As you can tell from the title of this question, I am no expert with GPO's. Before I begin, I spent a few minutes to an hour searching and reading in hopes of finding the solution and avoid putting myself out there as a "GPO Newb". While

I run SBS 2011, and in Group Policy Management I have a custom GPO. In this GPO I define all my settings. I understand this may not be the best or most practical method of applying policies, but I am not very strict and have few settings. This
policy existed prior to my joining the company, and was migrated in to this SBS '11 from SBS '03. That may be the issue, but before making any changes I am seeking expert advice.
When I select that GPO, named "Main GPO", and click on the tab at the top "Settings" I see the error: "An error occurred while generating report: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
I saw that when I right click the GPO > View > Options and select the tab "Reporting" that it states that for reporting to work the location of the .adm files must be specified. I see that my option for the location is set to "Default"
which by my guessing would be located in the C:\Windows\sysvol directory. Below is what I see there:
C:\Windows\sysvol\domain
C:\Windows\sysvol\staging
C:\Windows\sysvol\staging areas
C:\Windows\sysvol\sysvol
I think the problem is that my custom GPO are not inside the default location, which I speculate is: C:\Windows\sysvol\domain\policies (which I do see some objects there).
But instead I also see items in this folder: C:\Windows\sysvol\sysvol\JOHN.LOCAL\policies (while where I just typed 'JOHN.LOCAL' is my actual local domain).
To further this, when I edit that custom GPO, then at the very top of the tree I right click on it and select Properties, I see a Unique Name listed there as a long string of numbers and letters, similar to a registry entry. I searched my server for
that same Unique Name and found it listed inside the folder: C:\Windows\sysvol\domain\policies
If I am correct with my assumption and basic knowledge, I should move all objects as follows:
-Move FROM: C:\Windows\sysvol\domain\policies
-Move TO: C:\Windows\sysvol\sysvol\JOHN.LOCAL\policies
My concerns are that I am not correct at all, that I will break something, that there may be an easier fix than moving anything, or that I am overlooking something causing this error altogether.

That's due to a security setting (most possibly) your current OS does
not understand. Hard to find out wich exact setting it is... To resolve
this issue, we need the gtpptmpl.inf file residing in the policiy's
sysvol folder. To open this folder, edit the policy, move to computer
settings - policies - windows settings - scripts - startup, press "show
files". Then move two folders upwards and back down to
.\microsoft\windows nt\secedit. There you'll see the gpttmpl.inf - post
its contents and we'll have a look at it.

That's perfectly ok - JOHN.LOCAL in fact is a symlink pointing to "domain".

Generate report in different currency

HI,
I got a requirement to generate a report for an entity which is having default currency as "USD". This is very quite easy to generate report by selecting as entity currency. But the requirement is the same report must be in other currency like "GBP" which is not a parent currency of the Current Entity. But the currency is available in my Application. So How can i generate the report and what are things i need to do select? Please clarify my issue....

Can you give us more info about the current layout of your report? Which dimensions do you have in your rows? Is currency an entity or a UDA?

CSM 4.7 Report Manager User Report Issue

Hi,
Since we upgraded CSM 4.7 from 4.6, suddenly Report Manager is unable to generate VPN User Report, same as Connection Profile Report and VPN Device Usage Report, error message shows below. However, under FW-Summary Botnet (Top Destination, Top Services, Top Sources) those reports are fine. If I ran older than the time we upgraded 4.7 (like last week, last month) I could get the data, only right after the upgrade, no data since then. We opened a TAC ticket, but they could not resolve it and said it is a known bug, also applied patch which did not work either. In Event Manager, it has all the event logs, and Configuration Manager seems to show Event Manager setting correct as well. Anyone has encounter this issue and has solution? Please help, thank you!

I have installed the CSM 4.7 on my VM windows 2008 server pack2, i am getting the logs from my devices like ASA firewall and Router. But i am unable to generate report logs and mail alerts. I hope you can help me in this...........

XL Reporter - Toolbar is missing needed for "Generate Report"

Hello - I am going thru the eLearning for XL Reporter.
I have opened a template in XL reporter and I want to "Generate Report", however the toolbar shown in eLearning is not visible.
Any advice? Thanks ahead of time!

John,
The toolbar often stays hidden when opening XL Reporter. An easy way to get it to appear is to resize a column in the spreadsheet. For whatever reason, this always makes it pop up for me.
You could also turn it on in Excel:
View > Toolbars
There should be one for XL Reporter at the bottom
Uncheck it and then recheck it
That will force it to appear as well
I believe your Excel Macro Security has something to do with this issue, but have never nailed it down.
