Getting Movies onto the iPhone

Hey all, it's me again.
I found a program to get Movies onto the iPhone, even though you have to at a cost. The cost is $30, and the package, where you can covert other media files, is like $50.
I only got the regular, since I don't want other media files on my iPhone.
But ****, it's a lot cheaper then paying for them through iTunes.
It's called Avex DvD to iPhone.
It works great, super fast, and the file size is about half of the other programs I've tested. Hope you guys like it!
Just letting you all know in-case you haven't tried yet.

Yes, this has been well discussed in this forum already, as a search would have brought up. You will also find many threads on using Visual Hub, Quicktime Pro, etc...
This thread might be deleted relatively soon, since badmouthing Apple or Apple products or iTunes tends to result in a quick yank...so I'll not add anything more for now.

  • Get movies onto the iPad/iTunes from a DVD

I'm getting ready for a trip and want to put some movies onto the iPad to watch when I don't have Internet connection.
Question #1 If I rent movies from iTunes, do they download so I can play them at a future date when I'm not Internet connected? (I understand that I have 30 days to start watching a film and then must finish within 24 hours.)
Question #2 Can I transfer movies from a DVD to iTunes to watch at a later date and how do I do that?
    Thanks for your help.
    Chris

#1: Yes, the movie downloads. Your understanding is correct: you have 30 days to being watching, and 24 hours to complete watching once you've started.
#2: Sorry, but if you're referring to commercial and hence copy-protected DVDs, breaking the copy protection, which would be necessary to copy the videos from the DVD and convert them, is illegal in the US (and other countries), so we're not allowed to discuss it here.
    Regards.

  • Getting files onto the iPhone

How can I get PDFs, JPEGS, and Word docs onto my iPhone, so that I can access those files from my iPhone?
    Thanks!

You can get PDF, and MS Word documents to your phone through emails. You cannot save them to your phone, you can just store them on it until you delete the message which contains this or these files. If you want to save PDF or Word files to your iPhone then you have to buy some application which can able to do this. iTunes App Store offers many good application. You can find easily applications by topics. Download the right application for you and through this save the file or files that you want to your iPhone.
And yes, iPhone support PDF and Word files, that means that you can watch or read these files on your iPhone. If you are curious about the supported files on your iPhone then look up the iPhone's User's Manual on the support page and see that.

  • What is the best way to move Contacts onto the iPhone?

    Hi Guys,
I currently have Nokia N82, usually when i get a new Nokia (since am a TOO loyal customer) i just take a backup from the previous one and add it to the new one when i get! i hate copying to/from SIM...
Now when i want to get the iPhone what is the best way to move the Contacts??
i use a Windows machine, STILL!

For the couple of iPhones I have access to, you've got three methods to get contacts onto the device aside from moving them onto the SIM; I have found that copying to and from SIMs can leave data fields not totally aligned.
    (1) Via a cloud. One uses MobileMe (via iCal/Address Book entries) and the second uses an Exchange-based cloud. Both seem to work pretty well, although I do experience an occasional lag from time to time.
    (2) Via a sync on a desktop. My preferred method. Connecting to iCal/Address Book>iTunes or Outlook 2007>iTunes work very well. My only issue was that Outlook didn't work as I'd expected the first time, just as with a couple of other phones in the past (it never did work with my Motorola Z9); to "fix" the issue, I simply refreshed Outlook's contacts and rebooted Outlook - I actually had to do the same thing with iCal to "blow out the pipes" and both sync conduits work fine now.
    (3) Transfer Contacts to the iPhone via email using a vCard for each contact. I use version 3.0-compatible vCard files generated from Address Book or Entourage (Mac), Outlook or just about what my business contacts generate. Just about every platform has some unique data type, but I haven't received a vCard yet the iPhone can't handle via email.
Getting your Contacts out of the iPhone. Option (1) or (2) - that's it AFAIK. I hope this helps you out!

  • I just noticed that some of the movies I had in iTunes did not get transferred to the iPhone. The missing movies are shown as generic movie icons in the iTunes panel. How do I get the original movies to show up again and transfer to the iPhone?

I just noticed that some of the movies I had in iTunes did not get transferred to the iPhone 5. The missing movies are shown as generic movie icons in the iTunes panel and are checked to select them. But they do not show up in iPhone Videos. How do I get the original movies to show up again and transfer to the iPhone? I recently upgraded Mac OS to 10.6.8

    1. iTunes won't offer cloud downloads for songs that it "thinks" are in your library, even if it "knows" the files are missing. If you've exhaustively searched for the missing files and there is no prospect of repair by restoring to them to their original locations, or connecting to new ones, then delete that tracks that display both the missing exclamation mark and are of media kind Purchased/Protected AAC audio file. Don't hide from iTunes in the cloud when asked, close iTunes, then reopen. You can download from the cloud links or iTunes Store > Quicklinks > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer > All songs > Download all.
    2. Why? Not sure, perhaps 3rd party tools or accidental key presses combined with previously hidden warning messages when trying to organize the library. There is a hint that using the feature to downsample media as it is synced to a device may also be involved, though I've not replicated it. Whatever the reason a backup would protect your media.

  • I recently purchased songs from itunes via my pc and I dont know how to get them onto my iphone? When I click the sync button it says I will lose all the music currently on my iphone.. Help :(

I recently purchased songs from itunes via my pc and I dont know how to get them onto my iphone? When I click the sync button it says I will lose all the music currently on my iphone.. Help

If you're syncing with a different iTunes library than the one you previously synced with, then there is no way around it. You're gonna loose the old data. The only way round it would be to make sure that all the music files on your iPhone is also in your iTunes library. If you still have access to the computer with the old library, you could copy the files on to an external harddrive, and then import them into your new iTunes library.
If it is in fact the same library, then the music currently on your iphone, is also in your itunes library. Just make sure that the artists/albums/playlists, or whatever you sync contains these tracks, that you allready have on your phone and don't want deleted. What i do is, i create a playlist specifically for my iPhone, and i set it up to only sync with this playlist. Whenever i hear a track from my iTunes library or buy a new track that i want on my phone, i just drag it to this playlist and next time i synchronize, it's there without deleting anything else.

  • How do I get safari bookmarks to update onto the iPhone?

On my older iPhones, the Safari bookmarks always used to slurp up from my computer onto the phone so I could use them on the phone. Now, that does not happen, the bookmarks on the phone are old and never update when I plug my phone into iTunes to update.
What setting do I need to revisit to make Safari bookmarks update from the computer onto the iPhone?
    TIA,
    Ken

I do not subscribe to any other than the basic iCloud I am forced into having and I noticed also, in settings on the phone under 'info' in iTunes when the phone is plugged in, says that bookmarks are being updated through iCloud. This cannot be true as my bookmarks have not updated for a long time, I think since iCloud came into existence. Maybe this is an iCloud issue?
I don't want to fiddle with settings in the 'info' section as many of them say that there will be duplicates if I choose to use my computer as the source for updates. It is very dangerous as I already have duplicate calendar entries and suspect this has happened because of iCloud coming into the picture. It is very scary.

  • How to get movies to my iPhone?

I have iMovie '11 installed and the iPhone 4 with the latest upgrades. I am trying to streamline the process of getting movies to my iPhone. Since my original movies are in AVCHD format, and since iMovie is outdated and only able to import AVCHD directly from the camera, I need to convert my recordings to .MOV beforehand. I do this using the application Clipwrap. The next step in my pipeline used to be to open the resulting .MOV files with Quicktime and then export them to iPhone format into iTunes. This process is not very efficient, i.e. it takes a long time and can't be applied in batch mode to a number of movies at once. So I tried importing them into iMovie instead today and export them from there into iTunes*. I select the iPhone-specific 720p setting during the export. When I open iTunes and try to sync the movies to the phone it doesn't work, complaining that they're in a non iPhone format.
    My questions are:
    1) How can I get iMovie to export to iTunes in a format that gets copied over to the iPhone?
    2) Isn't there an easier way of accomplishing this then the above?
    Thanks!
*) While I write this I'm amazed by how unbelievable complicated it is to get a movie recording from the most standard compression format onto an iPhone. Apple should have a way of taking care of this within ONE piece of software, not three, one of which, Clipwrap, is not even made by Apple

Thanks, though did you actually read my questions?
To answer your question about ClipWrap and QT, I still have to use QT because Clipwrap doesn't convert to a format that's appropriate for the iPhone, i.e. the movies are too big. To respond to your other points:
    1) I did try share to iPhone (see my posts), but it doesn't work. This was the whole reason I started this thread!!
    2) I tried this but it didn't work for me. I'm not willing to pursue this route further since I already wasted several hours of my life with it. I also prefer keeping my .mts files individually on the computer, without the directory structure, since they contain all the information.
Perhaps something is wrong with my iMovie installation?
On another note, I just tried the Video Converter from iSkysoft and can't get the resulting .mp4 files to import into iTunes.

  • Transferring movies onto my iPhone

Hey guys, can anyone tell me how I can transfer my purchased (itune) movies onto my iPhone. I am in Canada and using version 2.2. I see my movie in my "purchased" folder and its also in my library under "movies". I can't seem to get it onto my phone. i try dragging, and copy/pasteing, but without success. Its not under in or under "my device" for me to sync it. Any ideas?? Thanks

If you have manually manage music and videos selected under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences, this should allow for manually dragging the movie from your iTunes library to your iPhone to copy the move to your iPhone.
If you don't have this option selected, you are syncing with iTunes. Movies are selected under the Video tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. Select your iPhone in the iTunes source list to reveal the tabs for your iPhone sync preferences.

  • How do I upload a new movie onto my iPhone without having to sync it with iTunes?

I am new to iPhone and all this syncing is so frustrating and time wasting!
I am using iTunes on the same computer and every time I want to upload a new movie, video or anything else, iTunes keeps telling me that I am changing libraries and that it will completely wipe out everything from my iPhone. why does this happen? how many libraries are on my iTunes? I am using the same apple id on the same computer and it still wants to delete everything from my iPhone? Is there a different library for EVERYTHING on my phone?

as I explicitly wrote in my first post:
of course my iPhone is already synced to the same computer!
I wanted to add a movie on my iPhone today on the same computer and through the same iTunes that I already synced my iPhone with and when I wanted to upload the movie onto the phone it told me that I am now using a different library and that everything on my phone will be deleted. I also tried to do it manually because I don't want to waste time by backing up the phone, erasing everything from it and then putting it back onto the phone, and iTunes told me the same thing: that I am using a different library etc etc.
the other day I wanted to put a new ringtone on my iPhone and iTunes did exactly the same thing!
how can I be using a different library on the SAME COMPUTER and on the SAME iTunes for different things that I want to put on my iphone?
    another thing:
if using iTunes indeed were as simple and as easy as you say it is, then there wouldn't be as many complaints about it as there are. also: calling someone ignorant just because they don't want to be bothered by the restrictions, complications and unfriendliness of iTunes is pretty lame!

  • What is the best way to sync media onto the iPhone using iTunes?

I know of two ways- one is be simply dragging items onto the iphone folder. The other is by clicking the iphone folder and selecting which playlists, artists, ect I want to sync.
Is there any difference between the two?

I have the same question: what is the best way to sync documents between mac devices?
But I want to be clear:  normally when we use the word "synchronize" or "sync" we are referring to an automatic update to the latest version of the document, whatever the document.
Just to be clear:  to "transfer" documents is not really the same as to "synchronize".  I will add to the question here with my thoughts. Please excuse me if the om only wants to transfer documents.
We have tried, over many months, to use SugarSync.  It worked great when I only put in about 10 files to be synced.  It took the latest version and updated it on the other computers that were connected.  But when we tried to sync the whole disk ... we just could NOT get it to work right. Meaning it would scan absolutely ALL of the files on the computer looking for the ones that were modified rather than just taking the lastest ones modified and syncing those.  Their tech department was not much help: I followed all of the steps they told me to do but we just could not get it to work right.  What a disapointment (and a loss of money).
I would love to find a software that automatically detects what the last modified files were and it will update ONLY that on the other devices (no matter what kind of files they are).
Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

  • Does it bring any harm or damage to the iphone 4s if let say there is a drop of water drop onto the iphone 4s RECEIVER??

does it bring any harm or damage to the iphone 4s if let say there is a drop of water drop onto the iphone 4s RECEIVER??

Water and electronics are a bad combination. I've seen phones get a few drops of water on them and never work right again. Mind you, I've also seen phones (old flip phones) go through both washer and dryer and continue to work for years.
Does your phone still work? Are you experiencing any problems? If the answer to both of those questions is no, you should be okay.

  • How do I get audiobooks onto my iphone 5?

How do I get audiobooks onto my iphone 5?  I don't have the option available in my music app.  audiobooks isn't there at all. When I can see my iphone on itunes in my computer it doesn't give me the option to sync audiobooks. I can't even find them when the phone is connected.  It only shows me regular books.

Audiobooks should be under the Books tab
Open itunes, Click on your iphone at the top of the page, or sidebar, depending on your settings, click the books tab, then go to audiobooks
