GL Upload Planning Layout - Available characteristic (WBS element)

Hi All,
In the GL upload planning layout, does anyone have any idea why there is no WBS element in the section of the available characteristic?
I am trying to create a planning layout for GL upload, and I would like the initial screen at the Tcode: GP12N - Enter (New) has selection criteria for user to put in as follows:
Company code:
Version:
Fiscal year:
Profit center: (in range, if possible)
cost center: (in range, if possible)
WBS element: (in range, if possible)

Hi all,
I found out that the GL planning upload does post to table: FAGLFLEXP; and this table does not have any fields for WBS as well as internal order.
Does anyone have any idea on this why FAGLFLEXP (or FAGLFLEXA) does not have these fields?
Is it because this 2 objects are just temporary cost capture object, and therefore should not exist in these 2 tables.

Plan and Actual at WBS Elements without activities

Hi Experts,
I am in need of a small help from you. My scenario is like this:
I have equipments/material as WBS Elements( Level1,2...). I have no activities/materials.
I planned the costs using CJ40 and Budgeted using CJ30 and confirmed all the WBS Elements by entering actual dates for the same.
Now i want to see planned/actuals costs in report. When i checked in one standard report it is showing 0 for both planned and actuals.
I also want to have a brief step-by step procedure for Project with only WBS Elements, i.e., from Initiation to Settlement.
Can anyone please help me in this regard.

Most probable scenario would consist of following steps
Create PDef - Create WBS (either copying from template or manually) - Plan costs - Roll up planned costs - Budget (at top level) - Budget distribute - budget Release - WBS release - Post actual costs - run cost / revenue variance report - settle costs against the WBS - TECO project - Close Project.
I believe I haven't missed on any important aspect.
Would appreciate inputs from others in this effort.

Appropriation Request Plan Info Copy to WBS Element

Hi,
I understand that the Plan information specified in Appropriation Request will be copied into WBS elements specified in Measures/Assets section.
I would like to confirm if this happens for both cases below:
- If I put exisitng WBS element under Measures/Assets section (will this overwrite my original plan for WBS element?)
- if I create a new project via Appropriation request, will the plan of the AR be copied to my WBS element (which means I will see updated plan if I check CJ40)?

IMCCP3 - Transfer Plan to Project Budget - WBS Elements

Dear all
Is it possible to execute a similar report as IMCCP3 - Transfer Plan to Project Budget based on a range of WBS Elements. Can a new report be created to allow this. The standard transaction only allows this based on Project.

Planning layout for material and cost element

Dear all,
i need to upload data from r/3 and start planning from data i have uploaded.
data is as follows:
year month material amount
what i need to do is to put data in planning layout and put cost element next to that and manually enter cost element.
so desired column is like that:
year month costelement( enter manually) material amount(enter manually)
is it possible and how?

Standard WBS Elements Screen layout/Settlement rule/IM assignment

Few questions about Standard WBS elements
1. Is possible to have my own layout for the WBS element detail screens while creating/changing the standard WBS element (CJ91/CJ92)?
2. Is it possible to maintain the settlement rules for the standard WBS elements?
3. Is it possible assign the standard WBS elements to the IM program/position?
I know that all the above possible are only in case of operavtive WBS.
If possible with Std WBS elements, please help me and let me know.

Function modules or BAPI for posting plan costs for WBS Element

Does anyone know, whether there exists a function module or BAPI for posting plan costs to a WBS Element? K_COSTS_PLAN_PS does not work, because RKP1 is not allowed.

Planned Cost WBS Element = which extractor

Der all,
i try to extract the planned cost for an WBS element.
The extractor 0CO_OM_WBS_2 delivers no data and 0CO_OM_WBS_3 only a few.
Am I using the correct extractors.
I want to extract the same figures you can see in R/3 with transaction CJ41.

Hi,
Please try the 0CO_OM_WBS_1 extractor for WBS Element Costs (Plan). Data can be extracted using Currency Type = 00 (transaction Currency), 10 (CC Currency) and 20 (Controlling area currency).

Dear SAP Gurus,
I am Finding one error while chaing my Primary Cost Planning in CJ40. The error note as follows.
*"Overlapping values were maintained for characteristic Cost Element*
*Message no. K9050
Diagnosis
You maintained several characterisic values for characteristic Cost Element in layout maintenance or in the entry screen for planning.
Within these characteristic values
individual values appear more than once
individual values are included in an inteval
intervals overlap
These duplications and overlaps are not forseen in planning.
System Response
The entries for characteristic Cost Element are rejected.
Procedure
Change the entries in the layout maintenance/entry screen for planning."

Hi,
Step1. Go to CJ40.
enter in the cost planning area->Select the topmost line item->Primary cost.
Then Extras->Group Display--> Cost element
Is it the same what you have checked in the KAH2?
Step2: Then check Extras---> Error Log
Step3: Then check Extras--->Diplay Profile
Step4: Now Go to Tcode: KP34 and check the layout assigned to WBS elements: Cost element/acty inputs and make sure the check mark is present against it in item column.
Step 5: Now check Extras--> Display Profile.
Make sure its same as that of Step4.

Planning layout with dynamic period colomns

Dear experts,
I would like to create a planning layout for cost center/ cost elements in which we have the different periods in the columns (1-12). This layout I could already create, but now the business asked to have the number of columns selected dynamically in the selection screen ( eg: I want to enter the data as of April till December).
The reason behind this is that the planning periods of Jan - Mar will be locked when we will enter the data from April to December. My first layout does not allow to enter any data if Jan - Mar is locked.
In other words, would it be possible to have the periods in the selection screen AND in the columns of your layout?

I have found a solution to upload data via excel though:
If for example periods 1-4 are locked you should start your layout in excel as of period 5 but you should repeat period 12, five times (to get to 12 columns/periods). This way you will be able to process the file with a planning layout for a year where some periods are blocked)

Config for Cost & budgeting at activity level and WBS element level in PS

Dear GURU's,
please suggest me how to do the spro configuration for budgeting and costing, here my requirement is I need to do cost planning and budgeting at WBS element level and Activity level. We two deferent types of projects.

Cost planning in projects can be done through two techinques:
I. Manual cost planning (at WBS level)
1. Overall planning (Struture-oreiented planning)
2. Detailed planning (Cost element planning)
3. Unit costing
4. Easy cost planning form
II. Automatic cost planning using networks and assigned orders
For customizing: Use transaction OPUV and enter the required entries for cost planning.
Budget can do only at WBS level. For configuration do the following steps:
1. Create Budget profile - OPS9
2. Assign Budget profile in Project profile - OPSA
3. Then allot budget to your project - CJ30

Assessments expenses and revenues / orders and wbs elements

Hello gurus,
I have created two different structures:
- Statistical WBS Elements for allocating all the planing data.
- Internal Orders assigned to the WBS Elements for allocating all the actual data (expenses and reveues: item category of cost elements is 1).
The issue is that periodically i need to distribute these things:
- Plan data from one Statistical WBS element to others Statistical WBS elements. As the WBS Elements are statstical i really do not know how i can distribute those plan costs, i mean, how i can create the assessment cycle? which steps i must follow up? which transactions allow me to do this?
- Actual data from internal orders to others internal orders. Exactly the same questions that in the paragraph before... The problem here is that i know how to create assessment cycles using cost centres as senders, but the transaction (KSV5, KSU5) do not allow me put order as a sender

Plan data for Statistical wbs elements are not eligible for assesments/distributions and settlements.
In actuals , orders can be set as senders and receivers. Use trans KCAU to customize yur assesments.

I all,
I would like to find the list of planning layout available on SAP, and especially the planning layout 8A-157.
I would like to customize it via Report Painter, but I couldn't find it anywhere in the system up to now.
I tried transactions CJR2, KPF6, KEPM, KP65.

Planning layouts you can find in GRR2.. You cant customize layouts starting with a numeric no... You can copy it, make changes and give it a name starting with Y or Z
Once you define this form, click on "Create report" button in the form and your report will be created

Pre-emption in planning layouts (WebInterfaces)

Very honoured colleagues and colleagues,
during the use of a planning-layout within a WebInterface the following need of us was near-carried - perhaps someone has an idea from this round regarding realization:
A planning-layout (type 'characteristic numbers in data columns') is developed dynamically by the user and filled with (actual) data. I.e. if necessary lines are produced added ('push button f. new line =rue'). The user gives here for example to attach at 10 new lines. From the Workaround it proceeds numerous user in such a way that you fill the three characteristics in the key columns ascending (for example. only if the date is registered in each line, then the manufacturer, then the product-line) before afterwards the quantity / piece data in the data columns is equipped.
Evenly this user wish themselves a Design, in which during (inadvertent) operation of the enter key (or press actualization) the lines are deleted not immediately, in which the key columns filled however still no data in the data columns were deposited.
Us came into sense that we one of the data columns (here number of vehicles), which usually anyway with 1 one fills in the moment, in which new lines are attached with 1 to reserve.
Is someone admits whether and /or how can such a logic to be established? Or does someone have an alternative idea, how automatic eliminating of these lines can be excluded?

I want to know, how to avoid, that new lines (which are added by the user) will NOT be deleted even there are only data in the key-columns and no data in the data-columns.
Within the standard-adjustments every (new) line will be deleted by press the enter-button or refresh-button if there are no data in the data-column.
So there is one idea we will default fill (preallocate) ONE data-column with "1", so it is not possible to kill the lines without delete explicit the former (default-)entry.
But I don't know how to establish such an automatic-function, with produce such default-entries only by press the button "new line"...
Maybe this idea isn't quite clever and somebody has a better idea...

ERROR in BPS Planning layout

Anyone got a clue??
We have characterstic txt. values exceeding 20 characters - resulting in an error in the BPS planning layout: <i>Characteristic value not valid</i>.
The planning layout only takes 20 characters - need it to take more - we have characteristic values with 30 char length. What can we do?

Thank U for your response - The masterdata is maintained and the planning layout in question has been working before. We just recently upgraded to BW 3.5 and then masterdata characteristics with value exeeding 20 characters the planning layout does not recognize. This results in an invalid error statement.
Is there a SAP Note that can handle this or do I have to make an OSS?
