GMAP/maps in webi report

Hi All,
I want to use GMAP or any sort of map in webi report.
Is this possible to make webi report interactive?? I dont want to use Xcelsius 2008.
Please suggest possible solution.
Environment is  BO XI 3.1 SP3

Bram,
This formula you used above is corrcet but is returning you a character '0' and when a descending sort is applied character values will be at the top.
So , apply the formula 'ToNumber' on the value returned form the above formula :-
ToNumber(above formula)
And then it will change 0 to number and give you the exact sort order.
Thanks,
Rohini Haksar

  • Webi report publication with org unit personalization mapping

    Hi everyone,
I have an HR Webi report whose source is a Bex query and is scheduled (published) weekly. The report is meant for managers so in the dynamic recipient report (another webi report) I have manager's name, email and org unit. Right now the bex query does not restrict by organizational unit, the filtering by unit is done in webi through the 0employee's org unit attribute. This works, each manager only sees data of her own employees.
However, managers would like to see not only their direct people (employees belonging to her own org unit) but also submanagers, ie, managers of subordinate org units. I tried filtering through the org unit of 0ORGUNIT, not the employee's o.unit attribute, but that doesn't work. The same manager shows up multiple times in the report.
Has anyone managed to publish a webi report (or Crystal if that's possible) that shows the chief hat's subhierarchy?
    thanks

    Hi Graham,
The publication should work in the same way for a user or a group.
Can you please elaborate on u201Cassigning a user to the groupu201D, I believe this is probably where you go wrong.
Please test same workflow I suggested yesterady, but instead of user, use the group:
    1. create the profile
    2. add the group to the profile
    3. assign the profile value to the group for that profile
    4. add the group to the publication as Recipient
Does it work or not?  If so, then do as follow for the user and group:
    1. create the profile
    2. Add user and group to the profile
    3. assign the profile value to the user and group for that profile
    4. add the user and group to the publication as Recipient
Please note that in the above steps, you donu2019t have to assign the user to the group.

  • How to print sap bex query varaibles in webi report

    Dear Friends,
I created a webi Report on universe ( Based on SAP BW Bex Query with variables).
its working fine. Now i want to show the selected variable values on the top of my webi report.
How can i access and print my bex query variables on header of my webi report.
We are using BOE 3.1 SP2, SAP BI 7.02.
    Regards
    Malik

    Malik
That is default behavior of BO. The integration mapping from BI to BO will populates like that, COZ you made BI variable on top of Date dimension, which needs From and TO fields.
To display that info, what user has selected on the fly:
    As suggested, use UserResponse() function.
keep in mind, prompt text and userresponse text must be identical. Otherwise, it wont't work.
Eg: prompt Text: Enetr From Date:
Var: =UserResponse(Enter From Date:) -->> Results: (Blank)
Why?? Prompt text Enetr not Enter
    Hope it clears you.

  • Open a webi report from a Dashboard components

    Hi All,
I have created a dashboard using Dashboards 4.0.It has a bar chart, line chart, combination chart.all these chart on X-Axis have month names as dimensions and y - axis shows different measures.
So now the requirement is the user wants to select any month from any one of the chart at one particular point of time.then the dashboard should open a Detailed Webi report( created in BI Launch pad) for the selected month and display that month data in a new window.
I know that we have to use the URL button in Dashboards for linking a webi document.
However i would like to know how to pass the selected month from the dashboard by selecting a particular month from any of the graph component as a parameter to the respective Webi report in BI Launch pad.
Hence any body how to implement this in Dashboards please let me know the step by step process.
    Thanking you,
    Regards,
    Naga Nanda Kishore.

    Hi Kishore,
Month name should be prompt for the Detail  Webi Report, so when u clicked on bar its going to carry that Month as Well. And Syntax for adding Month will be like below.
Suppose if it is Sample Open Doc:
    /BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sIDType=CUID&iDocID=Fq0JoFNoywYADK0AAADHRQkAABVdEABC
So u have to use this Syntax for Month
lsSMonth=+ Map the Cell where month is capturing. (Note:In  lsSMonth Month is next of Prompt for month in Detailed Report.
    And final URL will be
    "/BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?mistype=CUID&iDocID=Fq0JoFNoywYADK0AAADHRQkAABVdEABC&lsSMonth=+Selected Month"
(Open Doc)                                                                                                                                                          (Sending         (Selected                                                                                                                                                                                       Month)                 Month)
And For trigger the URL button you have keep trigger URL when Month Value changes(Based on Selection), means you have map trigger cell to destination of Bar chart Month Destination.
    Thanks and Regards

  • BW Hierarchy in WebI report: strange behaviour

    Hi experts,
I faced with an (apparently) strange WebI behaviour.
I'm working with SAP BW 7.0 and BO XI 3.1 SP 2.
I have a universe built on a BEx query and the BEx query is built on a multiprovider (with 2 infoCubes inside).
The universe maps a BW hierarchy (ex. H) along with other object (ex. A and B).
In WebI report all works fine if I got only hierarchy levels (in drill mode) and a measure.
Adding the A characteristic, A values seems to be mapped in the hierarchy characteristic while A values are empty.
Adding the B characteristic, both B and H are empty.
Removing hierarchy objects from the report, A and measure works fine.
    B and measure works fine.
    BEx query works fine.
Does anyone has ever faced with this kind of problem?
    Any help would be appreciated
    thanks in advance
    marco

    Hi,
There is a mechanism called "flattening" which transposes OLAP DataSet into an XML stream 'rowset' - this is part of the MDX interface of BW, and is most problematic.
the ultimate proof is to enable the MDA.log , capture the MDX SELECT statement, and Executing it in transaction MDXTEST in BW. There are 3 execution modes: multidim, flattening, xml -  there has to be exact parity in the ouput between the 3 modes, otherwise you have a problem
You'll probably find that the query syntax Runs correctly, but perhaps the data problem is also seen in the BW back-end ?
Please check SAP Note 1446246 - MDX: Composite SAP Note for flattening API based on basXML
and ensure that you have the Related Corrections implemented

  • Broad casting Webi report in excel format to different users email ids

    Hello,
Seriously looking for the help, please help with the solution for below scenario.
We have a requirement to schedule broadcasting of Webi reports to users email in excel format from infoview. But our concern is how the system takes care of authorizations of users when we broadcast the report to their mail id as excel file.
For example we have one webi report for Finance and there are thousands of users for each department, cost centre etcu2026so how to broadcast the same webi report in excel to different users with only data they have authorized to see. We have committed to client that we can do this with out much massive overhead, please advise what is the easiest way to achieve this. I read something like this can be done using authorization profiles in CMS but creating those many profiles and mapping them to relevant authorizations is not possible as there are thousands of users with different authorization levels. And Client is expecting this broadcasting need to be done automatically with out every time manual intervention.
Looking forward for the prompt reply.
    Thanks,
    Gani.

Please use the Dynmanic Recipients functionality of the Publication.
For this we need to do follow steps.
    1) Create the WebI Report that needs to be published(Broadcasted)
    2) create Deski/webi report which contains the user details and email id's for publishing main report.
    3) Map the properties of souce report with Dynamic Recipient report.
Please refer the user guide for more inforamtion. This helps you in avoiding manual creation of profiles in CMC.

  • Can we generate one report tab for each of the prompt values selected in the bobj 4.0 webi report.

can we generate one report tab which filters
with each prompt value selected in bobj 4.0 webi report.

    Hi Shrinidhi ,
It can be achievable with static tabs created for each LOV .But this is not recommended because , object values can change dynamically .
It is good idea to use section on prompt object in the report .With sections great feature available is in larger report it’s easy to navigate using map. It displays the section tree. You can select the particular LOV to navigate.

  • Error when refreshing WEBI report with Universe Connection Type "SSO"

    Hi Experts:
We are trying to refresh the Webi report in Infoview with Universe Connection set as "Use Single Sign On when refreshing the report at view time", so that we can leverage SAP OLAP authorization variable from Bex Query which the Universe is built on.
However got the error of "incomplete logon data" after all the configurations done following below blogs:
    SNC Part 1
    /people/ingo.hilgefort/blog/2009/07/03/businessobjects-enterprise-and-client-side-snc-part-1-of-2
    SNC Part 2
    /people/ingo.hilgefort/blog/2009/07/03/businessobjects-enterprise-and-client-side-snc-part-2-of-2
We already have Win AD SSO to SAP setup, and in BO CMC, Win AD user is mapped to SAP user ID.
    The SNC settings are:
    - AD Account: service.test.bobj (all lower-letters)
    - 32-bit gsslib on the BO server, and 64 bit on the BW server side.
    - SNC0: p:service.test.bobj at DOMAIN
    - SU01 --> BO_Service ; SNC: p:service.test.bobj at DOMAIN
    - Entitlement system tab --> username: BO_Service
    SNC Name: p:service.test.bobj at DOMAIN
    - SNC settings tab:
    SNC Lib: c:\winnt\gsskrb5.dll
Mutual Authentication settings: p:SAPServiceBP0 at DOMAIN
In CMC, the role can be imported if "RFC activated" option unchecked in SNC0.
I found a few threads on the same topic, but they are all not answered:
    SNC Client side configuration error
SNC Configuration Error: Incomplete logon Data
Can you please provide details of the solution if you have impleted a same scenario successsfully, or any thoughts to help the investigation?
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Jonathan

    Hi Ingo,
Sorry for taking so long to reply, we are trying to set up server side trust and enable SSO; but we still couldn't success.
    What we did is:
    1. We followed installation guide chapter 6, generate certificate and PSE, etc. All looks good.
    2. Then we still have the "incomplete logon data" error when refreshing webi report after logon using Windows AD user ID.
    3. Then we trace the PFC connection, the log is as below. We checked several BO notes, e.g. 1500150, 1461247.. The part bothers us is that we even don't have URI displayed in the log when system trying to use SNC, and we couldn't get more info on this which make us very difficult to diagnosis.
Can you please help? Thanks a lot!

  • Error while refreshing  WEBi Report : Supplied XML Invalid

    Hi,
I have a universe buit on BI query in production environment.
I changed the query in BI directly in PRD. The only chnage i did was ,unhide the keyfigure which was hidden originally as i wanted to see the data it brings in BEx analyzer.
Then i agian chaged that key figure to Hidden.
now the WEBi reports which are built on the universe which uses this bi qury is not getting refreshed.
It gives the error : Supplies XML invalid
I refreshed the Universe and Parsed it.there was 1 parsing erroe in Filter.Still i exported the universe.
Now generally the WEBI reports start working after re exporting the universe, but this time it is not working.
What can be done in this case.???
I dont think it is because of parsing error as i have exported the same universe earlier with same error and reports worked fine that time.
following  is in the WHERE section of the filter:
    <FILTER KEY="[!V000006]"><CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="Equal"><CONSTANT TECH_NAME="@Prompt('Posting date','D',,mono,free)"/></CONDITION></FILTER>

How you tried editing Webi report ?
Its possible that your changes to Bex query while propagated to Universe after structure refresh, have changed some of the objects, and that change is not in Webi report yet, you'll need to edit it and maybe re-map objects.....

    Hi,
    try with this.
Starting the Gateway Service on the Message Server resolved this issue.
There have also been reports of this issue when name resolution issues occur between the client and the Message Server machine.  As a test, you can add the Message Server name and IP address to the Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts file.
    Or check SAP note 1590518.

  • Scheduling webi report error

    Hi Guys,
How u all? Guys I need help from your side, While refreshing Webi report in 3.1, getting error:
A database error occured. The database error text is: Failed to execute MDX query. Reason: Inconsistent input parameter (parameter: <unknown>, value <unknown>). (WIS 10901).
    Kindly help me.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
This error is very common when the report is based on BW query.
    1. try to schedule the reports and when selecting the prompt values click on refresh the prompt data which will pull the new data values from BW, many times it happens that we take the by default value when refreshing which may have a space etc.
if the above condition doesn't work try
    2. I would recommend to refresh the universe structure and map the objects i.e. pull the objects again in the reports
    or
last option would be to enable MDX and SOFA logs to get more details: (Instrucitons on capturing the MDX statement from the Webi Server can be found in SAP Notes 1260004, 1380517 or 1235111.)
    Thanks,

  • BO3.1 to BO4DeskI to WebI report conversion using RCT (2 database)

    Hello,
I have to convert reports from BO 3.1 to BO 4.0 version.
I have a DeskI report which has 2 Freehand SQL and both are pointing to different databases.
    So my questions are:
    1. Is it possible to convert DeskI report which uses multiple databases?
    2. RCT will convert these SQL and generate different universes for both databases?
Do we have any other suitable approach to convert DeskI reports which uses multiple db?

    Hi
    1. yes, it is.
    2. I think for this you need to follow below steps:
Refresh the Query in DeskI make sure it is refreshing perfectly.
Convert the DeskI report using RCT to WebI report
Refresh the converted WebI report make sure it refreshes prefect.
Find out which connection has been used for Default FHSQL universe
Find out any universe has using the same connection.
Create a derived table using the same query from WebI report
Export the universe to RCT universe folder.
Open the WebI report and to point the universe.
Map the objects to existing WebI report objects
If you need more help on this kindly revert me back.
    Hope it must help you!

  • Drill in feature in SAP BOBj Design Studio to Webi Report

    Hello Guru's ,
do you know if one can drill in to Webi report from Sap BOBJ design studio ..just like dashboard to webi.
i cant seem to find it anywhere.
P.s: moderator can you move this thread to the right discussion if i posted it in the wrong form.

    Hi Veronika,
First you have to identify what are your variables on the WEBI prompt. If you have created the WEBI report based on a BEX Query, the variable names would be the BEX variable technical names.
Then you just have to add &lsS<VARIABLENAME>=<VALUE> at the end of the URL string.
    For example:
    &lsSENTITY= VALUE
    &lsSTIME = VALUE
    &lsSACCOUNT = VALUE
So the test URL would be: http://servername:8080/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sIDType=CUID&iDocID=Afkcg9PzltNKtz7LEzNGHdY&NAII=N&lsSENTITY=VALUE&lsSTIME=VALUE
    &lsSACCOUNT=VALUE
To get BPC configured you have to follow these steps:
Go to the Administration Client -> Application -> Drill Throughs -> Add Drill Through
Name your new Drill Throug and on the second screen type in:
    URL: http://servername:8080/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sIDType=CUID&iDocID=Afkcg9PzltNKtz7LEzNGHdY&NAII=N
    URL Parameters  //  Mapping Source  //  Property/Value
    lsSENTITY           //  ENTITY                 // ID
    lsSTIME               //  TIME                     //  ID
    lsSACCOUNT      //  ACCOUNT           //  ID
    Hope it helps!

  • How to format popup info in web reports

    Hi Forum,
maybe it's quite easy, but I've no idea if or how I can format the popups
in web-reports, that come up if you hover a graph.
    The current output is e.g.:
    1/4 Figure-description category value
Is there a way to format the upcomming popup like the formatting you can do for series with $abs and $label?
Thanks in advance for any idea.
    Regards,
    Tobias

There is no standard way to do it.
You can manually use javascripting to create custom hover boxes.
You will have to understand the way HTML generates (it has flat image and AREA maps which isolate the areas of flag image w/ coordinates). Then enhance the AREA maps to override the standard hover boxes.
If you know javascript very well then you can use even available javascript frameworks to get highly customizable hover boxes. But it will involve considerable effort.

  • Types of web reports

    Hi gurus,
What are the types of web reports we have? Where do you specify them, Is it some sort of property setting?
    i'll asign points.
    regards

    Hi,
Web application design, with the BEx Web Application Designer as its main tool, allows you to use generic OLAP navigation for your BI data in Web applications as well as in business intelligence cockpits for simple or highly individual scenarios. Web application design comprises a broad spectrum of Web-based business intelligence scenarios, which you can adjust to meet your individual needs using standard Web technologies.
    Features
The following figure shows how the Web Application Designer is integrated into the function landscape and tool landscape of the Business Explorer:
You can use this BEx Web Application Designer, the desktop application used to create Web applications, to generate HTML pages that contain BI-specific contents such as tables, charts or maps. These objects, which retrieve BI data from a data provider and place it in a Web application as HTML, are known as Web items. For more information about the Web items available, see Web Items. Web Applications are based on Web Templates that you create and edit in the Web Application Designer. You can save the Web templates and access them from the Web Browser or the portal. Once they have been executed in the Web, Web templates are known as Web Applications.
Business Explorer Web application design allows you to create highly individual scenarios with user-defined interface elements by using standard markup languages and the Web design API. You can adjust and enhance the Web templates (the HTML pages that determine the structure of Web applications) on an individual basis. For more information on this, see Web Design API.
The BEx Web Application Designer is a desktop application for creating Web applications with BI-specific content. Using the BEx Web Application Designer, you can create an HTML page containing BI-specific content such as various tables, charts, or maps. This HTML page (Web application) is the basis not only for Web applications with complex interaction, but also for Web cockpits and iViews.
The command wizard and pattern wizard are integral parts of the Web Application Designer. Using the command wizard, you can easily generate commands from the Web Design API and include them in your Web template. Using the pattern wizard, you can configure BI patterns to a certain extent and tailor them to meet your needs.
The initial view of the BEx Web Application Designer has four different screen areas in addition to the menu and toolbars.
          Web Items Screen Area
          Web Template Screen Area
          Properties Screen Area
          Error and Warnings Screen Area
Applications with the BEx Web Application Designer. For more information about creating Web applications, see Creating Web Applications.
You can adjust the appearance of the Web Application Designer to meet your requirements. The object on which you are working, namely the Web template, is handled differently from the tools and help windows with which you are working.
You can show and hide the individual screen areas and toolbars using the View menu option.
You can reposition the three toolbars and the Web Items and Properties windows as required. Depending on where you reposition the object, it is either anchored or appears freely as a toolbox.
Since the Web Application Designer is a Multiple Document Interface Application (MDI Application), you can open and manage different windows with Web templates simultaneously. You can use the Window menu option to arrange the windows differently: cascading (overlapping), vertical, or horizontal.
Using the BEx Web Application Designer, you can create a BEx Web application (an HTML page with BI-specific content) easily.
           1.      Creating a Web template
The Web template is the starting point for creating a Web application. The Web template is an XHTML document that is used to define the structure of a Web application. It contains placeholders for Web items, data providers, and commands. A Web template becomes a Web application when the data is displayed in the Web browser.
During the design process, you change the Web template by embedding placeholders for Web items and data providers. You can keep track of these changes in the XHTML view.
To create a new Web template, choose Web Template ® New in the Web Application Designer menu bar. You can also create Web templates from the Select Web Template window. Choose Create New Web Template.
           2.      Setting the data binding/selection of the data provider
The data for your Web items is provided by data providers that you create in the Web Application Designer. You can assign a data provider to multiple Web items. The data provider concept makes it possible to change the data source of a Web item easily. If a particular data provider is assigned to more than one Web item, any changes made affect all the assigned Web items. By means of navigation (by changing the drilldown), the Web item always displays the current drilldown data.
A data provider is a dynamic object that returns current data for one or more Web items at runtime. You define the start view of the data provider by selecting a query or a query view. For more information about data providers, see Data Providers in BI Applications.
There are several ways to create data providers:
              a.      In the Data Provider section in the Web Items screen area
               i.       Select whether you want to create a data provider of type Filter or type Query View, and drag the corresponding line into the lower data provider section of the Web template screen area. The Maintain Data Provider dialog box appears.
ii.       Assign a name to the data provider and make the remaining settings required.
In the dropdown box beneath the name field, you can also select or change the data provider type.
               b.      Using the New Data Provider symbol in the lower data provider section of the Web Template screen area
               i.       Double-click to choose New Data Provider. The Maintain Data Provider dialog box appears.
ii.       Proceed as described under a. ii.
                c.      Using the General tab page in the Properties screen area
You can only use this option if you have already inserted a Web item into your Web template.
                 i.       In the header of the properties screen area, select the Web item for which you want to create a data provider.
ii.       On the General tab page, choose New Data Provider. The Maintain Data Provider dialog box appears.
The data provider is assigned to the selected Web item. You can also create more than one data provider, as described under c. The data providers are listed in the dropdown box under Assigning Data Providers. This enables you to assign a different data provider to the selected Web item.
The Maintain Data Provider dialog box appears under data provider: . You can modify or change the settings for the data provider here.
When you have created a data provider, it is assigned to the inserted Web item. Assigning depends on the order of the data providers in the inner structure of the Web template. See also 4.a.
           3.      Adding a Web item
The Web items in the Web Items screen area serve as templates. By dragging a Web item into your Web template, you create an actual version of the Web item; this is called an object. The Web item has a name and certain other default parameters that you can change as required (see also 4.).
You see the changes in the XHTML view. A Web item tag for the Web item and a data provider tag for the data provider (assuming you have created a data provider) were integrated into the XHTML as placeholders. Change the name of the Web item and assign a data provider to it. In the XHTML view, you can see that your settings have been written to the Web item tag. The layout you choose is also applied in the XHTML.
                                a.      Drag a Web item from one of the Web item groupings Standard, Extended, or Miscellaneous in the Web Items screen area to the Web template by using drag and drop. The Web item appears in the Web template.
Underneath the selection area for Web items and data provider maintenance, you see the help area, which provides explanations for the Web items and data providers. To display the texts for a Web item, select the Web item by double-clicking with the secondary mouse button. To hide the texts, proceed in the same way. When you hide the display of texts and select a Web item by single-clicking it, a quick info is displayed for the Web item.
                              b.      If you want to rename the inserted Web item, proceed as follows:
In the Properties screen area, choose Rename Web Item to the right of the dropdown box in which the inserted Web items are listed. Name the Web item by overwriting the default text under Name in the Properties screen area next to the dropdown box in which the inserted Web items are listed.
           4.      Specifying the properties of the Web item
                                a.      In the Properties screen area, choose the General tab page to make or change the assignment of a data provider for the corresponding Web item. See also 2.
                                b.      Choose the Web Item Parameters tab page to set the parameters for the selected Web item.
You can also set the parameters for the Chart Web item using the Edit Chart dialog box. Choose Edit in the context menu of the Chart Web item or Edit Chart in the Internal Display parameter grouping of the Chart Web item. For more information, see Editing Charts.
           5.      Adding additional Web items
To insert additional Web items, repeat steps 3 and 4.
When you insert additional Web items using Insert ® Web Item, pay attention to where you position the cursor in your Web template. The cursor position determines where the new Web item is inserted. See also Designing the Layout of Web Templates. When you insert Web items using drag and drop, the position of the cursor is irrelevant.
Make sure that you set the data binding and any Web item-specific parameter settings for the correct Web item. To make settings for a Web item, select the Web item in the layout view. In the header of the Properties window, the system displays the Web item for which you can change the settings. As an alternative to selecting the individual Web items, you can use the dropdown box to toggle between the attributes of individual Web items.
           6.      Designing a Web template layout
In the Web Application Designer, you create your Web template in the same way you do in various XHTML editors. See also Designing the Layout of Web Templates.
           7.      Changing the Web template properties
                                a.      To change the default properties of the Web template, select the Web template from the dropdown box in the Properties screen area.
                                b.      Choose the Web Template Parameters tab page, where you can change the parameter settings for the Web template.
For more information, see Web Template Properties.
           8.      Saving and executing the Web template
You execute the Web template in the Web browser (portal). The Web template becomes a Web application, which means the template is saved on the Application Server for ABAP and a URL is generated for this Web application.
At runtime (triggered by calling the URL), the BI tags are replaced by corresponding HTML with the information determined by the Web item and data provider settings. When this is done, the Web template on the Application Server for ABAP is accessed. Therefore, you must save your Web template before you execute it.
                                a.      To save your Web template, in the menu bar of the Web Application Designer, choose Web Template ® Save.
                                b.      Choose Web Template ® Execute to view your Web application in the browser (portal).
You must save the Web template before executing it in the Web browser. Therefore, when you execute the template, you are asked to save it if you have not already done so.
To assign a Web template to a role, choose Web Template ® Publish ® In Role. See also Role Maintenance.
To copy the URL of a Web template to the clipboard, choose Web Template ® Publish ® Copy URL to Clipboard. The Web template, however, must already be saved.
To broadcast a Web template, choose Web Template ® Publish ® BEx Broadcaster.  For more information, see Precalculating and Broadcasting Queries, Query Views, Web Templates and Reports.
    Result
Your Web application is started and displayed in the portal, which in turn runs in a Web browser.
If you want to print your Web application, choose Print in the context menu for the executed Web application.
