Go URL selects Column Selector

Through GoURL I am calling a report which has a Column Selector. Is it possible calling the report with different columns selected?
Example
The column selector offers 1 column which has 2 options , eg. Region and City. First I am calling the report with Region selected and later with City selected. How can I achieve this? I want to use just the same file not different ones as the real report I am using has 4 columns with 5 options.
I am looking for something like this
http://yyy:9704/analytics/saw.dll?Go&Path=/shared/&Action=Navigate&ColumnSelector=Region
http://yyy:9704/analytics/saw.dll?Go&Path=/shared/&Action=Navigate&ColumnSelector=City

You can use the approach that i have used in my blog entry here http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2008/02/29/oracle-bi-ee-101332-varying-columns-dynamically-using-session-variables/. But its a work around though.
Thanks,

  • Calculated column of a request from Column Selector View.

    hi,
A user wants to select the calculated column of a request from Column Selector View.
But he is able to select only those columns which are available in Selection Pane.
How can he fulfill this request

    Hi,
Take a column in your request criteria and change the name of the column and forumala to f(x)=qty* amount which is your calculated column and using column selector use this column as your user wish too.
    UPDATED POST
I dont know how your proceeding, the solution i gave will definately work .Here are the steps
1)pull a column into the request criteria
2)rename the name of the column
3)go to formula in f(x) change according to your requirement for example:- quantity*unitprice
    4) run the report and in results you would see the column.
5)From compound layout select column selector and see what you want is getting displayed.
    Hope helps you.Award points.

  • How to show/hide total based on selected column in column selector

    Hello,
Is there a way to show/hide the total based on what column is selected in the column selector? Or alternatively to hide the total based on the column selected? I'm using OBIEE 10g.
Basically, I have a pivot table with a handful of row variables and one measure. Then I allow the user to select the column variable. The default is to have nothing, which I have achieved using the hidden/dummy column trick (Re: How to add new columns by using Multiselect However, if my pivot table is set to have a total, I now get 2 columns that are the same. When the user selects any other choice (e.g. gender), I would want to see Male, Female and the total. Something like this:
    Default:
    Count
    East 10
    West 20
    Total 30
    Gender:
    Male Female Total
    Count Count Count
    East 6 4 10
    West 14 6 20
    Total 20 10 30
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

I recommend using view selector instead of column selector

When i will select status in the column selector the title of the report will show " Status Summary" when i will select region then the title will change to "Region Summary". Please help me...

    Hi,
create dashboard prompt with column selector functionality like following way
write the following query in your dashboard prompt sql results
select region name from subject area name
    Union all
select sub_region name from subject area name
like this and put one presentation variable for this dashboard prompt like var1
in your report write formula in your column like this *case when @{var1)='region column' then 'Region Summary' else ' ' end*
and refer this column in narrative view like @1 then narrative act like a title view.
    Hope this helps you

  • Column selector for list of values

    Hi,
is it possible to use column selector to select list of values of a certain column? I mean similar to dashboard prompts? We may have a situation that the environment we use does not allow us to use dashboard prompts in certain cases. If not, is there a way to separate lov's from each other in pivot tables? Now if we select two columns, lov will look like column1-column2 with all possible combinations and we don't want that.
    BR,
    Mari

Use a pivot table view to achieve this requirement.
open pivot view properties-->place the required column in the pages--->try the result
It will work like a prompt in the report.
    mark if helpful/correct..
    thanks,

  • How do I use a Presentation Variable to select Column/Views of a Request

I have multiple requests that all have view / column selectors in them (all the same columns)
What I would like is to create a dashboard prompt that the user can select from that will influence these multiple requests on the same dashboard page.
    Thanks for any help.

    User,
As I read that example it has
Year - Year Ago - Dollars
The dropdown selector they've created looks very useful in that it allows them to filter those three columns with 50+ filters.
What I'm trying to do is something like this (for multiple different requests of course)
    Year - Year Ago - Dolloars - Column 1
    or
    Year - Year Ago - Dolloars - Column 2
    or
    Year - Year Ago - Dollars - Column 3

  • How to Use Column Selector View in Reports

    Hi all,
Can someone please advise on how to use the column selector view in CROMD's reporting tool?
Whenever I add a Column Selector view, and check the Enable checkbox of a certain column, a message appears "Click the columns in the selection pane to add more choices". However there is no selection pane, and the only thing I can do within the column is input a column label.
Am I missing any crucial steps here?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Choose a column as column selector by enabling the check box and click the columns that has to get into column selector in the left navigation.
On click the columns would get in one by one. After that field that you choose would be displayed in the position of the column in the report table
Typically the purpose is something like this. If you want to dynamically change the first field say by Account Type, Account Region, Account Status and see the revenue then it can be used

  • Pivot tables with column selector - navigation?

    Hi
Just hoping someone can help. We maintain a large number of dashboards and would like to move to streamlining them by combining reports using column selectors. However when we have pivot table reports where the column selector on the rows are selectable on up to 5 different fields, but the pivot columns are split by one specific field, the navigation reports won't filter on the column headings. It will filter on the rows which can change between the various column selector options.
    For example we have:
5 columns (5 types of application)
The rows are either: advisor, status of app, month received, age of app, world region etc...
The fact is # of apps
This navigates to a list report which should prompt off the various fields in the column selector and the pivot table column headings (all are prompted) but it just ignores the type of application field and only prompts off the rows.
Is it possible to have it prompting off both like a normal pivot table does?
    Sorry if that's not clear.
    Regards

  • Dynamic Column Selector in OBIEE - Solution required

    Hello Experts,
I am pretty new to OBIEE. Please help me to get OBIEE solution for below requirement.
I have one 25 column dimension table in database. Created OBIEE .rpd file and published in BI server. Now I need to provide one user interface in which user should be able to chose any number of columns of his choice and he should get record set of those selected columns. Something in my mind is like this.
I should be providing list of 25 column names with check box to select one or many. Assuming that if user selects Col1, Col3,Col5 and Col7 then he should get the result in excel file with record set of those 4 columns.
    I am using OBIEE 10g.
Any solution for this is highly appreciated.

    user,
Usually, dynamic column seletor is implemented through "column selector view" available within compund layout of OBIEE Answers.
But, it does allow you to select only single column rather than multiple columns - which in your case is required.

  • How Both View Selector and Column Selector in one report dashboard section

    hi kris,
Can we use a view selector and column selector inside a report in one section of the dashboard? Here view selector is nothing but having multiple views and selecting depends on what end user want to see.You are saying in a single report in once section only.
If it is a single report you can go with using a column selector.
Note:-View selector and column selector combination can be used.....but it looks wierd as you need to select view at the same time the corresponding column.
    UPDATED POST
Yes you can have it by creating different compound layouts with pivots in it.

But if is select the Month column in column selector that i will have 2 columns one having month with no drill and other month having drill.
How can i suppress the drill on the month which is coming from Column Selector?
    Regards

    Try this:
    1) Select "Month" in your Column Selector.
    2) Now go to Criteria mode. The "Month" column from the Column Selector should be there. Click on the Column Properties of the column and set Value Interaction to "No Interaction."
    3) Save your report.
    4) Go back to Results tab and re-select your "default" column in the column selector and Save report again.

  • Disabling resize on row selected column in DataGridView

    Hi,
In my application, I have managed to disable resizing of my data columns on my DataGridView, but the only column that I cannot disable the resize feature is on the row select column, you know, the one which shows which row is currently selected (also shows the little pencil when the line is being edited).
Can someone help me identify how to disable this please? I'm using VS2005 pro and C#.
I'm doing this programmatically because my program uses many different databases. I currently do things like:
    this.myDataGridView.Columns["LineIndex"].width = 100;
    this.myDataGridView.Columns["LineIndex"].Resizable = DataGridViewTriState.False;
Can I do the same sort of thing to fix the width of the row selection column? I don't want to hide it, just stop the resizing of this column!
    Thanks
    Sean

This option disables columns re-sizing at all, also if property AllowUserToResizeColumns =True ...Did you know how can I to enable to user to resize all columns, except "selector column" (the column with the arrow)? Thanks
