H323 Call Routing - 911

I'm missing something here in this config....
If we dial 10 digits the call goes out the FXO port just fine, 911 gives us a fast-busy.
configs below along w/ the debugs..   weird thing is on the 911 call it appears to be changing the called number and calling number....

  • Random call to 911 and other issues

(Yes, mods I did search the boards for this issue and I didn't see it. Most people want to know how to call 911. I want to know how to stop my phone from doing it by itself!)
Hello, I'm a brand new Verizon customer and was so excited to switch carriers and pick up a new smart phone!
Now I'm not so excited to be a verizon customer with a new smart phone.
Last night I went to use my Samsung charge and of course, it was locked up (again). All the icons were inoperable and the screen was frozen. So, for at least the 5th time of the day, I had to remove and replace the battery and wait for the phone to reboot.
Within a few minutes, I received a call from a number I didn't recognize and the man on the other end identified himself as a county sheriff. He said they received a 911 hang up and it came from my number! I was so confused because I'd done no such thing. He said it was the departments policy to followup and make sure I was okay. I tried to assure him that I was okay, that my phone had been sitting on the table and I had NOT called 911. He then insisted that I give him my address so he could come over to make sure I was okay. Then I got scared....Really really scared since my husband was not home and I was alone and the call seemed so bizarre.  I refused to give him any more information, told him I didn't believe him and hung up. I checked my call log and it didn't show any call to 911.
I was freaked out, so I called my city's non emergency police line and and city officer called me back. I told him what happened and he decided to call the number and call me back. A few minutes later he did.
It turns out that it really WAS a county sheriff and apparently my phone had made a random call to 911 and pinged a tower on the other end of the valley!
I've learned to live with pulling and replacing the battery multiple times per day. I've learned to live with the lack of battery life. I've learned to live with not having workable bluetooth.
After owning this phone for about 4 months, I already hated it for all the glitches and issues it has but now I am very very very alarmed that my phone makes random calls to 911 and hangs up !! You can be issued a citation and fined ! This I will not live with!!
Verizon, is this the phone causing this?  Is it something in your network? How do I stop this from happening again?? This was extremely stressful for me and I can't have it continue to happen!

    Hi GoDaisy,
I can definitely understand your frustration regarding the scenario with the sheriff's office contacting you about a 911 call! I have completed some troubleshooting with the Charge, as I use this device myself. With this phone, if you create an additional lock with either a passcode or a pattern that has to be entered, there is a button on the bottom of the phone that says "Emergency Call." If this button is pressed, a 911 call, or any number that has been entered as the emergency number, is able to be dialed.
I see that you mentioned that you were in the middle of resetting the device because the screen was frozen. Do you recall if the screen was frozen on the lock screen when this happened? If so, you may have inadvertently pressed the button for the emergency call.
If you do not have a lock pattern or a pin code set up for the device, the standard lock (where you connect the puzzle piece) is the default. This screen does not have an option for an emergency call. If you have the additional lock screen set up on the device, you could remove it and set up a different number for the emergency call.
You also have the option of downloading a free application from the Android Market called "ICE," or "In Case of Emergency." You can set up this application with your own personal preferences. Press the Market icon and use ICE as a keyword search.
Below I have provided the steps on how to remove the lock code/pattern for you, if needed.
    Removing the lock code/pattern:
Press "Applications" icon from main screen
    Press "Settings"
    Press "Location & Security"
    Press "Change Screen Lock"
Confirm your current unlock code or pattern by entering it
    Press "None"
To set up an emergency call, you can simply program the number as a contact, and then save the number as a speed dial.
    Assigning Speed Dials
    1. From the Home screen, touch Contacts.
    2. Press the Menu Key, then touch More-> Speed dial.
    3. A list of speed dials displays.Touch a speed dial, then touch a contact to assign the contact to the speed dial.
Please let us know if you are still having issues with your phone locking up and having to re-boot it by removing the battery. Do you notice any pattern about when this happens? Are you performing any specific function when the screen freezes?
Additionally, I want to clarify that any calls to 911 are not listed in your call records online or on your bill due to the fact that these calls are free. Your statement only shows billable calls, so this is the reason you do not see the call in the call log.
I hope this information is helpful for you. Please post back with any findings or results.
    Thanks very much,

  • Service Provider Distinctive Ring Call Routing

I have the situation where I want to replace an old key switch with a UC500. The only outstanding issue I have is an inbound ring feature enabled by the provider. The way it works is the customer has 2 phone lines that are members of a service provider hunt group. When they dial the pilot the first line rings and if it is busy the second line rings, no big deal. The issue is that the published fax number is the second line in the hunt group. So if the call comes in directly to the fax number the service provider gives it a distinctive ring, this is currently how the customer knows not to answer the phone and let the fax machine get it. With a UC500 implementation I would like to make this all transparent to the user. So here is my question, is there a way to route the call to the fax machine based off the fact that it rings in with this funny tone from the provider?

Call routing is based on dial plan, not tones. Tones in the speechpath will be sent to the destination, but are not used to determine where the destination should be. Fax pass-through/relay is triggered by the fax tones (CNG) when they start to sync up over the speechpath. Inband ringtones will not trigger these features; they will simply be passed through like plain voice conversation.

  • Calls Routed, Offered and answered showing different figures on the Call_type_Interval table

    Hi all
I am totally confused by so data that I am seeing for several call types on the Call_Type_Interval table. Our interval is set to 30 minutes
The issue confusing me is as follows (example):
I can see 679 calls offered (Call_Type_Interval.CallsOffered) but for the same interval I have 731 calls routed (Call_Type_Interval.CallsRouted) and 731 calls answered (Call_Type_Interval.CallsAnswered) .
Can anyone explain what is causing this. Why is calls offered less than calls routed and answered.
Any guidance that could be given would be extremely appreciated.
    Kind regards
    Stewart

    Hi,
could you please reveal more about your call routing? Is there any IVR involved? Queuing?
CallsOffered means within the specified half-hour interval this many calls has "gone through" the specified Call Type.
CallsAnswered means within the specified half-hour interval this many calls were answered after the specified Call Type. But this does not necessarily mean that all the calls that have been answered at this interval, had gone through the Call Type in the same interval. If, for instance, there's an IVR after the Call Type, or a prompt, that might insert enough time to have a call answering moment slip to the next interval.
CallsRouted: for this many calls the script execution terminated in the specified interval (but also this does not necessarily mean the call was answered or handled - all we know is that the script execution stopped).
In this case, in 731 cases the script execution stopped (Routed) simply because the agent answered (CallsAnswered) the call.
    I hope this makes sense.

  • Reject sip/h323 calls by IP?

i have a few sip/h323 providers. I have also enabled sip/h323 on my as5400xm(this is for my asterisk server). Since i'm using these providers, i have to put their IP in my access-list. my concern is, since my gateway is accepting sip/h323 calls. what if these provider send the calls to my gateway? so i was thinking of a way to restrict this. It could be as simple as tweaking the access-list. but I don't know. Please help.
    here's how i have my access-list setup:
    access-list 101 permit tcp host 10.10.10.10 any
    access-list 101 permit udp host 10.10.10.10 any
    access-list 101 permit udp any any range 16384 32767
access-list 101 deny   tcp any any
access-list 101 deny   udp any any
    Thanks in advance

Ah, so you just want to restrict VoIP calls from L3 addresses other than your provider?
That's just a simple ACL to open up traffic to your SIP ITSP's IP external addresses, and block anything else.
You can get what IPs and ports are used by your provider, but here is what you need open on the Cisco side inbound for an inbound ACL on a WAN interface:
UDP - ITSP address:ITSP SIP Port to External interface:5060 - For SIP signaling
ITSP address:ITSP RTP Port Range - External interface:16384-32767 - RTP traffic
ITSP's port range could be anything between 1024-65535.  SIP usually comes from UDP/5060 from the ITSP, but doesn't have to.  Verify with them, or look at a SIP debug or packet capture to verify.
The implicit deny will take care of everything else.

  • Ivr call routing when icm is fail

    Hi All,
I am deploying icm 7.1,ivr 7.0 with cucm 7.1. ICM is doing the routing part in our senario.
I have one query,Can IVR  handle the call routing once ICM goes down. We are using IVR,ICM in HA mode.
Please help us how to achieve the same.
    Regards,
    DJ

You could run a script in the IVR, play messages, etc.
However, it is NOT possible to configure agents on an IP IVR.  You cannot set up skills, CSQs, agents, teams, or anything else you'd need to have.  There is no way to queue a call because there would be nothing to queue against.
If you feel you absolutely most have more redundancy, the only thing you could do is reroute the call to another system (ICM or IPCC Express) that can host agents and handle the call there.
IP IVR and IPCC Express are the same software, but a very different license.  Because of differences in the license, they have different capabilities.  The IP IVR doesn't have what you need to do what you're asking to do.,

I am receiving calls from 911, 917, 918, 919, etc. I believe these are international calls from mobile phones in India. How can I block/stop them?

Unwanted calls are never pleasant! To confirm, are these calls only coming from 3 digits numbers? If coming from 10 digit number we offer 5 free blocks via https://wbillpay.verizonwireless.com/vzw/nos/safeguards/SafeguardProductDetails.action?productName=callMessageBlocking. While not the most convenient, we also offer the ability to change your phone number free via http://www.vzw.com/myverizon.

  • SIP- h323 in a AS5850 - Not able to send h323 calls coming from a SIP Phone

    Dear All!
I have an AS5850 configured as a SIP Gateway and as a H323 Gateway. I'm planning to use this equipment as an interconnection point between PSTN,SIP and H323.
I already have a functional H323 Network with ISDN trunks to the pstn and it is working fine. I added SIP configuration to the AS5850 in order to be able to route calls out to the PSTN or H323 remote ends coming from a SIP Phone registered with a third-party SIP Proxy.
When the calls coming from the SIP Phone goes to a PSTN destination the calls completes properly, but i am having problems trying to send calls coming from the SIP phone to a remote h323 gateway(also cisco)
Attached is my configuration and the error i'm getting in my cdr. It seems that the "ext" number of the phone is being used as destination string in the last call leg, but i'm not sure.

    Thanks.
Attached you can find the debug ccsip messages output.

    There are 2 solutions here.
    1. Use of SIP/H.323 Signalling Gateway as the protocol convertor. Search google will yield heaps of hits on this subject. Product available both commercial and open source, trial, etc. Using this method means that the SIP End Point will communicate with H.323 End Point without going out the PSTN. I believe this is what you want to achieve in the long term. You are trying the AS5xxx as the protocol convertor for you, which it will not work. A call flow will be something like SIP IP Phone->SIP Server->SIP-to-H.323 Gateway->H.323 Gatekeeper->H.323 End Point. Of couse there is a SIP server that do the protocol convertor in the same box but the functionality is the still the same. Performance and concurrent call setup differ from products to products. Going for this solution would require you to find such products and test it on the your network.
    2. If you do not wish to try on Soluton 1, this solution is a workaround way by not getting device but using the existing equipment that you have right now. Onto whether this good long term solution for depends on what you want to achieve both in term of commercially and technically. A call flow will be SIP End Point->SIP Server->Voice Gateway (AS5xxx)->PSTN Switch(ISDN/PRI)->Voice Gateway->H.323 Gatekeeper>H.323 End Point. The key is the Voice session must traverse the ISDN link. In other words your dial pattern must be setup is such as way that will go out thru the dial peer pots to pstn switch then come back to another dial-peer pots. I am not saying this is the most efficient way of doing it, I merely suggesting a workable way to achieve your desired goal without soluton 1.
Hopes you get better understanding now.
    Thanks

  • CSCtq10477 - Callmanager 9.1 can't make outbound calls, Route List gets error 41 - All devices busy

    Hi all
I seem to have run into bug CSCtq10477 and maybe CSCul71689 and CSCum85086, where calls can be received from an MGCP gateway, but fail outbound with Callmanager logs showing
03095771.002 |17:34:14.103 |AppInfo  |RouteListCdrc::null0_CcSetupReq - Terminating a call after the RouteListCdrc cannot find any more device.
    03095771.003 |17:34:14.103 |AppInfo  |RouteListCdrc::terminateCall - No more Routes in RouteListName = RL_OUTBOUND.  Rejecting the call
03095771.004 |17:34:14.103 |AppInfo  |RouteListCdrc::terminateCall - Sending CcRejInd, with the cause code (41), to RouteListControl because all devices are busy/stopped.
    03095771.005 |17:34:14.103 |AppInfo  |GenAlarm: AlarmName = RouteListExhausted, subFac = CALLMANAGERKeyParam = , severity = 4, AlarmMsg = RouteListName : RL_OUTBOUND, Reason=41, RouteGroups(RG_OUTBOUND)
and a Route List exhausted alarm appearing in RTMT.
Resetting the MGCP gateway in Callmanager, bouncing the serial interface, E1 controller and No MGCP/MGCP has no impact.  I could also see the circuit was not full.
We have got round this by removing the gateway from the Route Group and pointing the Route Patterns directly at the gateway and this works.  I can see two of the bugs above are fixed in the latest 9.1.2SU3 code (9.1.2.13900-10), but I don't see CSCtq10477.  This bug document shows some 9.1 code is OK, but not this one.
9.1(1.21020.1) - Not listed for download, is this an ES?
9.1(2.10000.11) - Not listed for download, is this an ES?
9.1(2.10000.28) - 9.1(2) - but not shown in the release notes for 9.1(2) either.
Does anyone know if the Release notes just missed this out, or does the bug document need the Fixed versions to be updated?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    9.1(1.21020.1)  is an ES.
9.1(2.10000.28) is the base version of 9.1(2) so this bug will be fixed in this version or any higher version of 9.1(2).
Upgrading to the latest ES or 9.1(1) or 9.1(2)SU3 would take care of this bug.

  • Is it possible to do an source call-Routing (ANI) on an Cisco IOS Gateway ?

    Hi,
i´ve the following Problem. I want to route an Call from the PSTN over an IOS Gateway to another Gateway by using the Calling Number (ANI). The Called-Number is allways the same but the Calling Number is different. The IOS-Gateway should route the Call by the Different Calling Number (ANI) not by the Called Number. I tried some tests with IOS 12.2.11T10 but i wasn´t able to route the call properly.
Is there a solution avalaible where i can route the Call on an VoIP-Dial Peer properly ?
    Thanks
    Carsten

configure the dial-peer with the command :
    answer-address "The Call Destination Number"

  • Lync calls routing wrongly

    Hi All,
I'm sorted of stumped at the moment.
    The Scenario :
    Lync 2013 deployment
Client has 4 sites - the sites are connected via vpn tunnels and has firewalls at each site.
User calls form site D to Site C and they experience one way audio. User calls from site C to site D and the call is fine.
User calls from site A to site C and the call is fine. User calls from site C to site A and one way audio might occur. User calls from site a to site D and there is one way audio. User calls from site D to site A and call is fine.
    Devices uses - vvx410 phones.
Problem - can't see QoE on reporting as the vvx phones don't provide it.
So over to logging it seems that calls from site D is trying to come form the internal ip of the edge server's private ip to the user in site C. So it seems that during the call setup that UDP to UDP peer to peer is not happening and then uses the edge server
to route the call through. No at site D hairpinning on the edge server is not allowed. From sites A-C it seems that the call is hairpinning via the edge's public ip as that is allowed.
There are firewall restrictions in place between the sites and what the client tried was to open full ip to ip on the phones between the sites as that should in theory allow UDP to UDP, but that does not seem to happen.
Could this be a routing issue between the sites? We have booked a network engineer and firewall engineer to troubleshoot this issue. On the lync side I've not restricted any ports.
Will be greay if someone had this issue before.
    Regards
    Danie

    Hi Greg/Anthony
Thanks for your replies so far.
The Lync setup consists only out of 1 Lync Edge server and 4 Lync Standard Edition server that is spread across the WAN. The lync static route to the inside nic does cover 172.18.0.0, in which all the subnets between all the sites are covered. The vvx phones
are located in a voice vlan (we recently had a issue with vvx phones losing their ip addresses and got the network engineer to reconfig the one site to create smaller subnets and then the issue was traced to 4 3COM switches). Their used to be only one voice
vlan, which is still the case at 3 sites, but the one site has quite a few voice vlans now to cater for all the subnets that were created, but I don't think this is the root of the problem. The one unfortunate thing is that on the lync reporting server you
can't see any QoE info apart from when a call is made from a vvx to a cx600 phone and usually when it is cross site the report will show that the vvx phone is coming from the external private ip of the lync edge servers AV nic. Today I did ask the client to
test by doing a lync to lync call, but since they are remote I can't foresure say that they did it correctly as the one user had a cx600 connected to his desktop and I wanted them just to use headsets and make the lync calls - I will get to try that out next
week when we will be at the client with a FW and network engineer to troubleshoot.
I also used the centralized logging tool in lync, but I don't seem to be able to locate the section where it shows the final candidate paring for a particular call, so I can't verify what the final candidate paring is. I can however see the initial candidate.
From the vvx410 phone is always uses a 22** port on UDP as the 1st candidate - I'm not sure if that is a fault as I would expect it to be in the 50,000 - 59,999 range as that is what the firewall engineer is seeing on his side.
I will also be able to do a wireshark trace - we have a port mirrored permanently on the one switch for the one user.
The main issue here is that there does not seem to be a peer to peer udp connection between the clients, so the edge server should never come into play here as the clients are inside the same WAN, alltough they are separated by 2 firewalls between 2 sites,
but connected via a vpn tunnel between the 2 firewalls.
Lync calls from the internet is working without any issues by the way.

  • Functionality of dialer map on a called router

I'm having an issue with eigrp protocol over and ISDN connection that I have solved; however, I'm not sure why my solution works. I have a remote router that can call into a hub site using two unique spids. I have a dialer map statement on the hub site that only referenced one of the spids: ie. dialer map ip 10.10.10.2 name Remote broadcast spid1. When the remote calls over spid1 I have no problem with the eigrp protocol neighbor adjacency; however if the remote calls on spid2, the isdn call comes up, ppp negotiates correctly and I can ping across the site; however, the eigrp adjacency doesn't work. I had to add a second dialer map on the hub with the same information as the first except I had to put spid2 on the end as opposed to spid1. Now it works correctly. Not sure why this is needed as I thought dialer map at hub end was only for chap authentication. The dialer interface on the hub site is a vrf interface; however I have the same issue when I take the vrf off of this interface as well. Any ideas ?

Thanks. Exactly what I thought as well. It could be a bug or it could be some internal caching that the router is doing. I didn't mention that on the called side the dialer is in a vrf; however, I think that I tried it w/o the vrf complication and it worked the same. Thanks for your opinion. I'm awaiting an answer to my problem from cisco-none yet.

  • CUBE in DMZ, H323 calls to CUBE, Ports need to be opened?

    Hi,
I am putting in a CUBE in a DMZ that will have a public address that will NAT to it's internal address.
First off, what scenario is the CUBE really used for? Does it make since to have an outside IP Video Station register to the CUBE using the public IP and then make calls to internal video endpoints?
If so, does H323 work well with this?
And lastly, what do I need to do on the firewall besides mapping the public IP to the private IP? Do I need to open ports or add certain commands?
    Thanks

You'll need TCP 1720 for H225 negotiation. You will also need random ports between 25000-50000 on both sides as H245 is negotiated dynamically between two random ports. If you're using SIP, TCP/UDP 5060 would be opened up.
Having the CUBE can help centralize your dial plan, as well as add security since it will be the border element between your internal devices and the external IP network.
For what you're doing, H323 would be the best option, yes.

  • VCS - CPL to block calls routing to and from the same neighbor zone

    Hello all,
Is there a CPL rule that can be written to block calls originating from a neighbor zone destined to the same neighbor zone?
We are having issues with calls being sent from CUCM to our VCS, then VCS routes the call back to CUCM, thus resulting in "Too Many Hops".
    In Example
Movi user on VCS Control tries to dial CTS endpoint registered to CUCM, but dials incorrectly
Call does not match search rules for local zone
Call does not match search rules for VCS Expressway
Call matches catch all for CUCM (.*)@domain.com
CUCM does not have a DN or URI for the mis-dialed number and the call gets routed back to VCS Control due to SIP route pattern of *.* on CUCM
We have to have the catch all to CUCM at the end since we offer PSTN connectivity, as well as our users and phones have alphanumeric URIs assigned to the DNs for Jabber, etc.
I'm afraid that there really isn't an easy way to do this, as I know since the call hits CPL first, CPL wouldn't know which zone it was destined to.

It's probably more easily accomomplished with a slight modification to your search rules rather than spraying anthing "@domain" everywhere - something like:
Direct anything incoming to @domain from the neighbour zone to the local zone (as it's inside your organisation, as if the CUCM hasn't found it and sent it to the VCS it's not going to be on the CUCM, so must be local (or non existant) - and Stop.
And the opposite of the above - Route anything for @domain from the localzone (as it hasn't been found locally) to the CUCM neighbour - and Stop.
And do similar for anything that's coming in from other external zones to route to wheverver the endpoints are going to be.  That way, your call shouldn't be bouncing back and forth between the CUCM and VCS and creating the loop you're currently experiencing.
Of course, if your environmetn is a bit more complex than just the single CUCM and VCSes, this may be a little oversimiplified, but could lead you in the right direction.
Another thing to consider too - if you put your endpoints in to a directory the users can use - that'll help stopping them from mis-typing stuff :)

  • Branch office PSTN call routing

Customer had HQ and Branch office with 512 MPLS line, in HQ alone they had E1 trunk, in branch office for calling PSTN the call should travel via MPLS to HQ, and the branch PSTN call terminated in HQ only,   is it a good design or better we need to add ISDN line in branch level to terminate the PSTN call.

    Balamurugan:
    1) I think it is possible. My R&S skills are oxidized but you can have MPLS VPN configured and use frame-relay as a serial encapsulation where you will be able to configure RTP header compression.
    2) RSVP over MPLS: yes. But as Marwashawi said, I prefer to work with the LLQ QOS for voice traffic. For that you will need to agree that with your service provider.
