Hardware issue - within warranty period

I purchased iphone 4s in US and I am residing in India. The applications like camera, phone book are automatically closing while taking photos or managing contacts.
Is there a way out to send my phone to US apple store and get it replaced?

Guarantee only in the country where it comes from.
Did you buy from a reliable source (Apple or certified Reseller)?
Has it been hacked to unlock?
The only thing you can dow now: hold the Power button and the Home button at the same time, keep holding, when you see the white apple logo let go and let it restart. Maybe it solves the problem.

Call or contact Apple or look online at the Apple store to buy Applecare.

  • 2nd Nike+ dead within warranty period, but 'no record' of serial #

I'm extremely frustrated with my Apple/Nike user experience.
My first Nike+ died after very little use (I ran 3 miles 3x/week with it for about 4 months, then put it away for a few months, and when I took it out again, dead). So I bought another kit. I've run with this one for another few months... until on a recent workout I got the 'activity stopped' announcement and yes, another dead kit.
I bought a replacement sensor, but it didn't link. I then tried my old receiver, from the first set, and it couldn't find the new sensor either.
Since my most recent Nike+ kit is still well within the 1-year warranty, I went to the Online Service Assistant (as I should have done with the last one) to get this kit replaced. But when I entered my serial number, I got the response: "We're sorry, the number you have provided cannot be found in our records. Please verify the number and try again, or contact us."
Of course it is nearly impossible to contact them regarding service without putting in a recognized serial number.
I've now spent $70 on Nike Plus and don't have a working unit. What the heck?! Do Apple people actually ever answer posts on this forum?

When you sync your Nike sensor with your iPod, then sync your iPod with your computer, the serial number will be sent to Apple. Since you couldn't connect the sersor to your iPod, Apple has no record of the number. I am having the same problems also, but the sensor did connect with my iPod, then I synced it with my computer, and now I don't know how to replace it.

  • Apple denying service during warranty period

I had an iPad mini which suddenly became unresponsive while going through my photos. When I took it to the service centre, they denied service even though it was within warranty period! And the reason they give is the device was opened and tampered with !! There is no way to open the ipadmini. How can it be opened! The service centre guy says he agrees to this fact but can't help as their computer is giving this reason - unauthorised handling of hardware. I went through this forum and found some other people also with the same complaint. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it. Consumer courts in India are not as strong and nor is it easy to pursue a case. Most of us are unaware about how to go about it.
IF anybody has a suggestion, it would be greatly appreciated. All I can say is very disappointing to see apple guys cheat you on your face with an impossible reason. Even if that analysis of their's says they are denying service because my iPad body is of plastic, I just have to accept!! They can give any flimsy reason and there is nothing you can do about it.

Take it to another service center and see what they say. Or ask to talk to a supervisor. if that doesn't work, click on the 'contact us' link in the lower right corner of this page and take your issue to apple corporate.

  • HT2101 My iPhone's 4 battery exploded. What do I do next? 1 year warranty period is over; however, this is a clear hardware issue which I didn't cause (didn't drop the phone, the battery just exploded while charging the phone)

I put my iphone to charge for about an hour. After an hour I found that the battery exploded. It literally exploded pushing the back cover off the whole thing. That is crazy... iphones explode?? what if this happened in my pocked and some nasty liquids going all over.
Please let me know what do I do next about it. 1 year warranty is gone but it is not my fault the thing exploded. Should be some kind of hardware issue. I found on the internet that this happens quite often.

I had the same thing happen to my iPhone but much less extreme. The back had popped away from the frame at the top, below the headphone jack. I tried to push it back but it would not stay. My first thought was that this was attributed to a bad/bloated battery. I took it in to my local Apple store where it was diagnosed as having a defective back. I brought up my bloated battery suspition with the Genious who instantly shrugged it off. The back was defective and that was it.
A new back was ordered and when it came in, I took the phone in for the back to be replaced. The new Genious went back to their service area with the phone, emerging a few minutes later stating that the back was not the issue...it was a bloated battery which had pushed the back off. They ended up replacing the phone under warranty.
Yours is very extreme since on mine, only one corner of the back was pushed away. I certainly hope you can get Apple to correct it without charge since this is clearly an issue with a bad battery and a dangerous one at that. Best of luck to you.

  • Hardware issues on iPhone that would qualify for a free replacement under the warranty, however I recently accidentally damaged the digitizer and now need to pay £177 to get it repaired just for them to send me a replacement phone anyway!

Okay here is my problem: I bought an iPhone 5c about two months ago, and recently knocked it in my pocket and damaged the digitiser – although not the glass, but it is currently unusable. However before that it started really playing up.
Primarily, it stopped being able to tell the time – which does not sound like a big issue, but is in fact a real pain as it throws out all my real-time apps, as well as making all my messages come through completely out of sync with each other. The time just seems to have slowed down, no matter if it is on ‘Set Time Automatically’ or ‘Set Time Manually’ – in half an hour it normally only forwards two or three minutes. Then the Bluetooth would not work, and then the same with the wifi – they just sat there with the turning on icon staying on and not changing. The next thing that happened was that my messages that I’d sent to people would occasionally send to other contacts over imessage completely randomly without me doing anything!
I know these are hardware issues and covered by Apple’s warranty, and they would replace my iPhone if those were the only problems, but as the digitiser is cracked I have to pay £177 pounds before they will even look at it to replace the glass, and that is just so I can send it off again afterwards for them just to give me a fresh phone anyway!
It is also not an option to do a self repair or go to a phone doctor as both of these will use non-apple parts, and void my warranty.
I really am stuck as I don’t have that kind of money for a repair at the moment, and still feel like it would be a complete waste of time for a phone that is currently not working anyway that they would just replace. Is there anything I can do?

"Is there anything I can do?"
Yes, you can exchange the handset for a refurbished out-of-warranty product for £216.44 (includes shipping + VAT).  Treat your objects like women - with love, and respect.

iPhone warranty is only valid in the country of origin.
You could try taking it to an Apple store and see what they offer.

  • HT201412 iPad screen does not respond, even after several resets (both with iTunes and at the Apple Store). Apple is also unresponsive to a hardware problem once the product warranty period has expired. Does anyone have a suggestion?

It is getting very frustrating to have Apple products.
Constant software upgrades and product releases seems to be the sole focus of Apple.
Apple does not offer hardware repair services. I can understand this policy when products do not fail. But it seems that this is not the case with Apple, as it becomes frequent that products fail just after the warranty period.
New software releases also destroyed the value of a "GREAT EXPERIENCE". YouTube, Google Maps, ... all features that are deleted with the latest IOS and that Apple could not properly replace.
It seems that Apple products are not 'consummable' products but 'disposable' products.
Let's see how robust SAMSUNG tablets are

Apple has hardware repair services, on repairable hardware. Apple just doesn't repair iPads, from day one Apple has always replaced iPads, either under warranty or as a reduced cost out-of-warranty purchase.
The rest of your post is just a rant. Enjoy your Samsung products.

No. The iPhone warranty is not international. You will need to have warranty service done in Oman.

  • HT201401 my i phone 4s camera is not working... tried everything but of no use...may be the hardware issues. Then how to resolve it? warranty is void..suggest please!!!!!!!

my i phone 4s camera is not working... tried everything but of no use...may be the hardware issues. Then how to resolve it? warranty is void..suggest please!!!!!!!

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  If each of these has been tried and the issue still occurs, the only option left is to take to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.
Out of Warranty replacement is $199US.

  • My iphone has serious display issues . wil it be replaced .? i stil hav a month left in my warranty period

my iphone5 has serious display issues . wil it be replaced .? i stil hav a month left in my warranty period.

iPhone warranty/support, except for the EU, is limited to country of original purchase. If you're in the EU, & purchased your phone in any EU country, you're OK. Otherwise, you'll have to return the phone to Apple in the country where you originally purchased, and you can't mail the phone to Apple. You must physically deliver it.

  • Weird Hardware issue, NOT OS related.

My Macbook randomly will slow down, and the screen will lose bit depth (Extremely bizarre) and will gradually turn white. This happens in BOTH Windows and OS X, so NO, it isn't Windows, and nor is it a virus, before anyone suggests that. This is a hardware issue, anyone have an idea of what's wrong? It doesn't seem to be overheating, since the Macbook isn't particularly hot.
If this is unsolvable, anyone think there'll be a chance for refund/replacement? I'm within 1 year warranty time, and this is just bizarre.

The demonstrating thing will be difficult, to say the least. It is, like I said, fairly random, and isn't limited to when I'm doing a task or anything. It seems to happen in Windows a bit more often, though it was first noticed while in OS X, and it happening more in Windows is easily explained simply by the fact that I use Windows more (Sorry, I'm computer literate, so Windows can accomplish SOOO much more).

  • WRT150N Warranty Period

I purchased a WRT150n router from Amazon.com on 2/3/2008 which shipped on 2/10/2008. The router no longer works. I contacted Linksys within the last month and was told that my warranty expired in October 2008!! The product material stated that the warranty period was for one year. There was no mention in the warranty that came with the unit concerning any condition on the warranty period. Has anyone had a problem with Linksys refusing to honor the one year warranty on this product? My warranty appears to have been cut short by four months and I've not been able to get a valid answer from Linksys as to why other than, "That's what the database says."
    Update: Kudos to Linksys,
Before I could call as suggested by sabretooth, below, I received a telephone call from Linksys. We discussed the matter and they agreed to issue an RMA once I sent them a copy my receipt. I've returned by unit for replacement. I very much appreciate their response.

Call Linksys back and ask for a supervisor. Explain the situation and that you have a valid receipt and expect them to honor it.
