Hardware up-to-date program: approximate time?

Hello
I recently bought a new iMac and I am told that I am eligible for a free hardware up-to-date program for Lion.
I have sent all the necessary details and have a claim code. I called the Apple support about this and they have said that I should get it soon.
Just wanted to know how much time should it take to get the upgrade code? I was told by apple support that, due to heavy load and too many number of requests for upgrade, the process is slow. Anybody knows how much time it may take?
Please let me know.
Cheers.
Gopal

  • How long is the "OS X Mountain Lion Up-To-Date Program" response time?

I submitted the information about my recently purchased laptop to the uptodate page http://www.apple.com/ca/osx/uptodate/ earlier in the day but haven't recieved any notifications (not even an email saying that the information has been recieved). I've heard that other people have gotten codes so I assume it shouldn't take this long. Should I just resubmit again?

Thanks. Is it odd that I haven't recieved any sort of confirmation email to indicate that the request is pending, or is one not sent out?
Servers are slammed.  Your email is the least of the problems.

  • Mac OS X Lion Hardware Up to Date Program

I have been waiting for my code to get OS X Lion for more than a day now.. The up to date site said it wouldn't take more than 24 hours... Is this due to server load?

I talked to apple care, and they said that since it was the first day..there was a huge load on apple's servers. Since they dealt with theapplications on a first come first serve basis. Gues well just have to wait

  • Up-to-date program reply time.

I've requested my copy of mountain lion since 10am yesterday morning and I have not gotten a reply as yet. Is anyone still waiting for a reply like me?

  • Hardware up-to-date approval?

How long should Apple take for the Hardware up-to-date Program approval? I bought a MBP in late June and qualify for this, but I ordered it directly from Apple via the online store. The UTD online approval only worked if you could enter a purchase site, so I had to submit a claim with all my info and a proof of purchase via JPG. I did all of that the night of the Lion launch and recieved an email promptly from Apple stating that my claim was received and was being reviewed. Since then, not a peep. Still waiting to be approved so I can upgrade. Don't understand why it would be so difficult and time consuming to approve something I bought directly from Apple? Any advice is appreciated.

Good to know, I'm not alone.  I had this idea of coming home and submitting my info and BOOM, downloading Lion.  I am so disappointed and waiting.

  • Data transfer from Time Capsule to new Mac

I have a MBP which up until 7 days ago had Mountain Lion on it.  The week before that, i had major abdominal surgery and when i was in the hospital, i accidentally knocked a bottle of water over and it fried my MBP. I would not turn on after that.
I took the MBP to the Apple Store for it to be repaired, at a cost of about $800.  Meanwhile, i bought a new MBP.  Both computers are the same with 2.5Ghz intel processor Core i5.  As far as i know, the only difference is that the newer one has a 500GB HD and the older one has a 1 TB HD, and the older one ran Mountain Lion while the new one came with Mavericks.
I had the older computer backed up on a Time Capsule.   When i got the newer one, i turned it on and went through the set up process.  When asked at the beginning if i wanted to transfer stuff over from another computer or drive, i said 'ask me later' or something like that. I have never used Migration Assistant before and did not understand it well enough to use it.
I transferred the backed up data on Time Capsule to the new computer wirelessly.  It worked fine. When i got done,
the hard drive looked like the old one, same set, same files on the desk top, dock arranged the same way, same Safari bookmarks, and also, the same third party
programs and data, with one exception, but for the most part it was the same.
Since i set up the new computer, it has been having regular back ups onto Time Capsule.
Now, i have the older computer back, repaired.  The older computer no longer has Mountain Lion.  It has Mavericks OS 10.8.5.  The newer computer has OS 10.9.3.
I want to do the same thing i did a week ago in order to transfer the data to the older now repaired computer, but i can't remember what i did, i'd never transferred data from Time Capsule before.  I have not been in the best shape mentally, having been cut open with a 10 inch incision and pain pills.
All i know is that whatever i did,  it was very easy, i believe i used Time Machine to do it, and it transferred my third party programs with their data.  It did NOT involve using Migration Assistant.
I don't plan on using the newer computer. i plan to go back to using the older one which has the larger hard drive.
Both computers have the same user account names and login info.  I just want to replace what is currently on the older freshly repaired MBP with what is on the Time Capsule.
I am not sure if my question is very clear but i'm wondering if anyone can tell me how i can transfer the data from my Time Capsule to my older now repaired MBP without using Migration Assistant (which i think would not transfer my 3rd party stuff).  i just want to do what i did a week ago but can't remember what i did. I think i used Time Machine, i connected the computer and Time Capsule (or they were already connected wirelessly).
I did NOT choose Enter Time Machine. I think i went in to Time Machine Preferences and clicked on 'Select Disk.'  I think i selected a disk that has the name of my Airport connection and has the word Data on it.  Does that sound possible?
Does anyone know what i'm talking about from experience or other knowledge?  because i'm inexperienced with this process and am not very clear about what happened, but i know it didn't involve Migration Assistant and it didn't involve Time Machine > Enter Time Machine, because i have never seen those before today.
Whatever i did, it was so easy, just click on the disk i wanted to transfer data from and click some button that meant "ok" or "connect" or "transfer."  And then, just wait, and after some time, my computer was set up reflecting the back up from Time Capsule, including third party stuff.
Thanks for any help with this.
btw, in Time Machine now, under Select Disk > Back up disks, there are two boxes.  The first box says Backup Disks, and in that box is the name of my Airport connection, i.e. the Time Capsule i guess, and on the icon, it says Data.   In the second box, it says Available Disks, and in that box, it has an icon of a disk with the name of my Airport or Time Capsule and it has an icon of a Wifi symbol which has the name, Other Time Capsule.  Apparently that is an option to set up another Time Capsule not listed.  I wonder if i chose one of those icons and clicked "Use Disk", would that data be transferred to my now repaired computer?

(Sorry, after i posted this, i discovered it posted it in the wrong product forum, i guess when i typed in what i was interested in, it just took me to the Snow Leopard forum. i don't see a way to delete my post.  Maybe the answer will be the same?)

  • Apple's Up-to-Date Program :(

There is just one thing that I have to say about Apple's Up to Date Program and that is it is not very Apple like. I am surprised that Apple took such a poor approach in providing Mountain Lion to customers that just spent a lot of money on their new machines. Next time I will wait until the machines start shipping with the new OS before making my purchase. How disappointing.

So if I understand you guys correctly: even if I bought a new Mac recently and qualify for the Up-to-Date program, I don't automatically get a license for Snow Leopard; the $9.95 for the upgrade kit is not just for shipping and handling but also a license fee? Correct?

  • Up-to-date program (iWork and iLife)

I have problem downloading iWork from Mac app store after receive redeem code from up-to-date program. I can use redeem code to download iWork but there was internet connection problem occur during download Page and keynote (I can finish download Number only). I can’t use this redeem code to try download again and it does not appear to resume download in purchase page of Mac app store. I have also tried the following
              1. Sign out my apple ID from Mac app store and sign in again, go to purchase page and found that it appear in "other purchase” tab in the purchase page with message in red color that “An error has occurred”.
              2. Click “Store” -> “Check for unfinished download” function from the menu bar and found message that “All purchases have been downloaded for this account” and no way to resume downloading.
Moreover, after update to OS X 10.9, it doesn’t come with iLife. I can download Garageband from Mac app store for free but it will charge $14.99 each for iPhoto and iMovie.
I have also email to apple by replying to the email which apple sent me the redeem code for up-to-date program ([email protected]). I'm not sure that if it will reach apple support or not becaue I'm not sure that if it some kinds of automatic reply email, However, I can't find any email that I can contact.
I have also called apple support but it appear to be not working time for them when I called. I'm not available at their working time to call them. But I will try to call them if there is no way to find anyway to solve this.
Therefore, could anyone tell me how to finish downloading Pages, Keynote, iPhoto and iMovie as I should receive these all apps for free? I would appreciate it if anyone can help.
    Thank you

  • Viewing data in real-time and saving on-demand - USB4000 Spectrometer

    Hey,
I am trying to create a program with a USB4000 Fiber Optic Spectrometer to allow the user to view the data in real-time on the front-panel, yet to be implemented, and also be able to save the data to an excel datasheet, or if another format if more appropriate. I am reasonably new to LabVIEW and have limited experience with saving data to excel.
I am currently trying to build upon one of the example VIs given with the drivers. Currently the VI produces data like the following:
    Wavelength (nm)    Spectrum Data
    xyz                               xyz
    xyz                               xyz
    xyz                               xyz
    xyz                               xyz
I want my VI to continue to append to a new column every iteration but I think due to me inputting an array of dimension size 2 it can't but am unsure how to get around this?
The current VI starts off by creating the Headers and then appending to insert the spectrometer Data.
Any help would be much appreciated, apologies if I am unclear about anything.

Ok, a couple comments. First, it is easier to build a 2D array by appending rows and then transposing the array before saving it. Also it is much more efficient to preallocate the array if you know how many columns the data is going to have.
Second, adding a new column or row isn't a problem because an additional column (or row) doesn't effect the number of dimensions.

  • Up To Date Program - No code received within 72 hours

    Hello Apple,
I am one of those early adopters of the retina MBP. I participated to the "Up To Date Program", but received no code within 72 hours.
This is quite annoying because I am on holidays now and have enough time to spend with my new machine and OS.
Hope my code will be submitted soon.
@Others: Anyone else waiting longer than 72 hours?
    Best regards
    BurningCorner

    Hi!
I got mine yesterday at 5 am in the morning. So it took about 5 days. I think the process of manual checking the receipts is quite timeconsuming.
Apple should improve this by using their own serial number database. For example customers from the apple online store are prequalified. This could save them a lot of work.
As i am a total changer ( dropped my whole windows enviroment ) this was a bit frustrating for me.
Now i am a proud owner of a MBP Retina with 16 Gigs and 512 MB SSD with OS X 10.8, a Time Capsule, Super Drive, an Iphone 4, Ipad 1 and Ipad 3. Generation. Only using Windows for some Steamgames in Bootcamp.
    Best regards

  • Up-To-Date Program confirmation, over 24th hours still nothing.

Has anyone got their App Store code yet? It's been over 24 hours and still haven't hear a word. Emailed Tunes Store/ Mac App Store Customer Support about it and told me to email uptodate support and haven't heard back.
Just wondering how long it usually takes.

    Hi,
There's plenty of threads with the same complaint/concern.
    You are not alone.
Apple messed up badly with the Up-to-Date program.
I don't have my code either (I bought a 2012 Macbook Air a month ago).
It's a waiting game for now...
I've heard (yesterday), it could take 72 hours. So Maybe we'll have ours tomorrow some time...perhaps.
    Who knows for sure.

  • [solved] Changing date but not time

    Hello,
I already searched the web but all examples how to change date involved changing time as well.
    date -s "7 April 2008 20:42:45"
    date -s "7 April 2008 20:42:45"
I need a script that does the follow.
    1. Save the current date
    2. Change the date to a defined one (but not the time because that conflicts with NTP)
    3. Start a program
    4. Wait for the program to be closed to restore the original date saved in 1.
How would you write such a script in Bash without changing the time?

Thanks for your replies. I did not know that time and date are inevitably connected to each other and that changing date does always mean changing time as well.
    @Trilby,
I indeed want to circumvent a trial-period. I am working on a Linux compatibility version of Prezi Desktop which is no longer provided in an official version. Many people contacted me with issues they are facing that I cannot testify as I do not have a 'Pro' account for which one has to pay. I generally pay for software but in this special case I do not want to pay for an account realising that in fact I cannot use the software due to compatibility issues.
As such, I already tried libfaketime but I failed to get it working with Adobe AIR 32bit on my 64bit system. I am aware that I am doing something that I ought not to do but I am not willed to pay for broken software.
    @moetunes
    [orschiro@thinkpad ~]$ date -s '7 April 2008'
date: cannot set date: Operation not permitted
    Mo 7. Apr 00:00:00 CEST 2008
You see, date -s would reset the time to 00:00 which is not what I was looking for. I want to save my current time to restore it again after closing the program.

  • Is anyone else having trouble with the Up To Date Program?

I bought a brand new Macbook Pro with Retina Display from the Apple Online Store, on June 15. Last week when Mountain Lion was released, I attempted to obtain a OX upgrade code throught the Up-To-Date Program. Then...the unthinkable happene! I got rejected by Apple. I first sent in my Acknowledgment of Order to prove my purchase, part of the Up-To-Date Program. I was rejected because Apple found the claim wasn't supported.
    SO!!
I resubmitted with my Acknowledgment of Order, "Thank You" document from Apple when I purchased the Macbook, shipping detail I received from UPS when they delivered it to me (apparently Apple wants prove that the product was shipped), the notification of purchase, and the notification of shipping. With so many support documents, I still got rejected hours later.
I AM AT LOSS! What exactly is Apple looking for! It's clear that I purchased the product. I have the documents submitted. I logged in my Apple account and found out my Macbook Pro IS REGISTERED under my name. I even phoned customer support, and the guy over the phone even said, "I see you bought and registered the Retina display model." when I inquired about my claim. So CLEARLY, they KNOW I purchased the Macbook.
Okay. I have the documents. I got rejected twice. The email from Apple the second time left me an address to send an inquiry.
I sent an inqury with ABSOUTELY EVERYTHING (invoice, notifications, etc). That was three days ago. I received NO reply.
Let's recount. Apple knows that I purchased the Retina Display model. I've sent in multiple documents which are only received if one actually purchase their products. They rejected the validation of my purchase outright in addition to the lack of reply and service. The conclusion that I've reached is that Apple doesn't want to give out Mountain Lion codes. Needless to say, I got "appled".
I searched on the forums, and some people who obtained codes from the Up to Date Program claimed that their codes don't work. Is anyone else getting duped by Apple or "appled"??

There have been some ongoing discussions about this problem that some are having - see the "More Like This" to the right.

  • Data Logging Elapsed Time

I have a program that monitors a pressure reading from a transducer.  The initial readings are logged at 10 second intervals until the pressure is increased by a set value and the logging interval increases to 100 points per second.  Currently, when I graph the data, the elapsed time on the x-axis is inaccurate because the computer doesn't know when the 10 second stopped and the 100 points per second began.  Is there a way to keep track of the time the points are being logged?  Some sort of method of having the elapsed time between points logged so this can be used to create the x-axis?
    Thanks in Advance!!
    LabVIEW 2012 - Windows 7
    CLAD

    Hello,
It sounds like you'd like to have two plots on the same graph, but the x-axis scale and values are different for your two plots.  You can control how data is plotted to a waveform graph by bundling the array of data you are plotting with an x0 (initial value) and a delta-x (distance between samples).  The order for the bundle (into a cluster of course) should be, x0 value, delta-x value, y-array of data.
I have attached an example to illustrate this by allowing you to change the x0 and delta-x for two plots dynamically (the Generate Sine Pattern.vi is used as a subVI, where the other is the top level VI); I think this is exactly what you are looking for!
    I hope this helps!
