ola my name is fedro.
i just bought an imac 2.16Gz i run logic pro 7 nothing else.
when i 1st install logic in my "1st imac" the logic crash a lot and the mute tool on the arranje window take about 5sec to mute. also the system performance runs realy high with only 5 audio track playing!! not normal after 300 calls to apple support they told m the mac must had a hardwear problem,after 2 visits to apple enggineers and a replaced the harddrive the mac still run logic very poorly.
They gave a replacement,but it does just the same.
i have only 3tracks of audio playing and it keeps on given m "core audio or hardisk to slow"messages iam shure i have enough memory!?

No! Right now I'm mixing 10, 24-bit tracks from a location recording. Using 5 channel eqs, 2 Sonalksis eqs, 2 Sonalksis compressors and a wizoo convolution reverb (this is on a G4) and everything is pretty much instantaneous, about 45% processor usage.
Your computer is several times more powerful than what I'm using.
You're using internal audio?
Try updating Logic to the most recent version.
I find it hard to believe it's RAM or Disc related, but maybe so. I don't have any experience setting up the intel machines.
Fedro, are you running a bunch of plugins on the audio tracks? If so what are they.

I have been pulling my hair out over my Error 4000 for two months now (since 5.x upgrade), and this is the most information I have heard yet. Any updates on this? My DVD/CD RW drive (the LG GWA-4161B) does not and will not have any driver updates from what I understand. Would it help to get a new DVD/CD burner?

ATR, just to make sure you understand me, all my video clips in my folders appear as the first frame of the video clip when I view my folders as (small, medium, large)icons instead of lists, when saved as .avi files but when saved as .mp4 files, those icons display as a graphic icon of filmstrip with a musical note on it. I do have various other methods to open with (quick time, windows media, winamp or real player) but prefer real player because I like it's quick and easy trimmer that comes along with it, since so many of my videos are just pet antics where you need to clip off the boring beginning and ends of the video.
I did go on a few of the icons and right clicked, Open With, and tried quick time and also Windows Media and it did nothing as far as how the file was saved for display, and they opened the same no matter which player I used...the actual video opens and plays right at it's first frame... but it's the way it is visually displayed in STORAGE that bugs me because it isn't immediately apparent to me what it is a video of (weddings, outside the house, pet antics)... it makes me have to actually title things and read titles where before I let it just be dates because I had the visual of that first frame as a reference. Obviously, this is a problem for unedited videos only, as anything I actually work with, I do give a title along with the date of the video.
I also just realized this seems to be the way ALL videos that are wrapped in .mp4 are displayed, as my bloggie camera's videos appear the same way. Now I know why! My other videos display as .avi's so I see the frame. Puzzle solved. Guess I'll just have to learn to live with it, as it seems to be how things display with the various formats.
Now I need to watch some tutorials to learn how this Premiere program works! It's all new to me, since this is the first time I've been able load any of my videos onto it. I haven't even been able to figure out how to trim on it yet!

Sorry, there is no adjustment to let X% count as a Play.
iTunes increments the play count at the end of the song. You do not need to play the whole song; just the last 2 seconds is enough. However it will require you manually moving the slider near to the end and then letting it play out. That will be prohibitive with your large library.

I had to move the footage to another folder and now am unable to link it - just getting this error message instead.... Has anyone had to deal with this before?

i have an iphone 4s. I can take a video and play it on the 4s just fine, i have always been able to down'load to my pc and view videos with no trouble. But since mid-october 2012, when i download the video to my pc, and try to play it, same as always, I am getting only audio and the video part is black. I can hear everything happening, but no picture. any thoughts?

Try updating to QuickTime 7.7.3. (That has helped a few people who were getting that when trying to play the videos with version 7.7.2.)

5.1 ac3 audio plays and exports as stereo in CS6

I am using the trial version of Premiere Pro CS6 at the moment. I am trying to create a short video that uses an 5.1 ac3 file that I created. I know the file is 5.1 because it plays through all the speakers on my WD TV HD Live media player, as well as through VLC Player on my computer. When I import the audio into Premiere Pro CS6, it plays as stereo. The same is true for audio from the video I imported. The video (from a Panasonic TM700 camcorder) also has 5.1 surround, but plays in stereo.
I went to Edit > Preferences > Audio and set the default audio tracks to 5.1. Under Audio Hardware, the only thing in the dropdown is Premiere Pro WDM Sound. I do not know what that is. My onboard sound card is Realtek High Definition Audio (on an Asus P9X79 Pro motherboard) and it works correctly as far as I can hear from all of my speakers.
Under Audio Output Mapping, there are only two channels listed. Again, Premiere Pro WDM Sound is the only option, and only the left and right speakers are in the list under that.
Does PrP CS6 not support my Realtek onboard sound? Why is it not listing all six channels?

This has been an argument, discussed since at least PrPro 2.0.
Going back to about that point (when Minnetonka Audio offered a discount for PrPro users), Minnetonka Audio basically opened up their books to me, when I inquired about volume licensing. I do not recall the exact prices, or even the discount, but the Dolby Labs' charge was most of the cost, and Minnetonka Audio only made about US $50 per SurCode plug-in.
Now, with the Minnetonka Audio SurCode, one CAN use the DD logo, when certain criteria have been met. With most other 5.1 SS Encoders, they are NOT certified DD, so cannot legally display that logo. Sony, with their Vegas NLE's, seems to be an exception to that restriction. I am not sure what the legal issues are, but Sony does (or did) create DD 5.1 SS, with some of their programs. Perhaps some sort of "brother-in-law deal" with Dolby Labs?
To some editors, having fully legal DD logos is not important to them, or to their clients. In those cases, there are a few other methods (though somewhat convoluted), to Export 5.1 SS AC3's, just not DD-certified.
I used the DD 5.1 SS enough, that I bought a license for each computer, and felt that my $ was well-spent. As you, and others mention, paying the licensing fee to Dolby and Minnetonka Audio, if one never uses the SurCode plug-in alters the price-point of the program, and all users will be paying more, whether they derive any value, or not. To me, it has more than paid for itself.
It would akin to Adobe including the full Red Giant Magic Bullet Looks suite in their program. Price would go up, and many users would never need that, or want it.
If asked, my vote would be to keep things, as they are, and those who want/need the SurCode plug-in can buy it.

FCPX starting a clip black with audio playing and fade in video from black

Hello FCPers, I recently have made the leap from FCP7 to X. I have not gotten used to the lack of rubber bands on clips vid and audio in the timeline. So how would you:
Start a clip with video black, audio fades in from silence, then fade in the video over the running audio all in the same clip?
The hard way was to cut the clip up, separate video and audio and use the video animator on the first video chunk, then fade in the 2nd chunk manually. Ahhh, if I could only option-T a keyframe diamond on that line.
Everything else is going without a hitch. Let me know what you think.

CControl-V to open video animation and ramp the opacity with the fade handle.
I Prefer to put a gap clip in front of the video. Expand the audio then roll the gap clip on top of it to trim the video. Cross dissolve to the video to fade it up.

Also, I followed the instructions on http://forums.adobe.com/thread/891337 to attempt to disable hardware acceleration, but guess what: the flash applets on that page are also black. So, when I right click them and click "Settings", nothing shows up.
Youtube works fine though. It's the only website that does.

What browser are you using? If it's IE, can you try to disable hardware acceleration within the browser?

Help to optimize my code and reduce 50% processing on my core i7

This is my first time working with labview and I am trying to learn more. I have read free online guides etc and came up with my setup.
Goal:
If I have a square signal coming then 1 square or beginning of the square will equal one change. I need to record change/revolution of a wheel hence the coding seems like that.
Problem:
I can see the change but I have few problems with my code:
If i stop the code then the revolution does not disappear but keeps on counting from there on (If I press run again). I want it to reset.
It does not record data after every 30 mins to a file. I have tried with one of the channel but it ends up saving as one file without having the "time stamp" which I did choose from the advance section. I just need it to record revolution every 30 mins to a file.
My coding is apparently not optimized hence 56% of my processing power is used of my core i7 which is alot. I need to know what part of it is causing this problem. I can guess that I have the same loop for each channel hence its more demanding but I will appreciate if someone can optimize it further or give me a clue to what I should do.
Once I made the exe file out of it. The button to turn on/off did not work anymore while it worked fine during the labview program.
I am looking forward to hearing from you. I will like to thank you in advance for reading this and helping me out.
Future plan:
I am going to try to stop it when a certain amount of revolutions has been reached. I will try that in the future though. If you can give me some advice on that, it would be appreciated.

I know that one loop is probably enough but how to do that is the problem. I have 16 signals which are generated by mice running on a wheel. I want to see the revolution for each wheel and want to stop recording revolution for some wheels when pressing the button. I will also try to put in later to stop after reaching certain amount of revolution. (Any idea how I can do that? Should I change to another type of loop)

It was the opposite here that when the operator small light was green that meant it isnt on while blank meant on. I did not know how to switch small light hence I changed the color of the whole button.
I know the colors represents different thing in labview but does it really matter if its blue or orange? I mean it still works.

Keeps crashing on start up! Can start without core audio, but crashes with!

I've run into a strange problem, when starting Logic it keeps on crashing after core audio initialize. I have tried starting whilst holding control to select start without core audio. This works and the app starts, i then go to audio preferences to select a audio driver to use. This is the strange bit i think?
It only gives me my audio input options, Built MIC, Built Input/ Built Input Aggregated. It does not give me an output option. I recall this not being normal? I am right or wrong here?
I also have a motu 828 which when connected and selected also crashes the program. It was all working fine one day and not the other, i have tried a reinstall twice also. I have no idea of what is happening so any insight and help would be great.

I have finally solved the problem. Do not use melodyne with LOGIC 8 it will not work! To run both on the same machine the melodyne rewire files must be removed from application support.

IMovie to iDVD-audio, slides and videos stuff up

Possess a Powerbook G4, DVD burner.
Did a project using clips and video clips. Share it with iDVD. Tried previewing it.
Audio plays and stops intermittently. Clips do not move and show sequentially. Audio keeps playing and stopping intermittently but clips and videos did not play as sequenced in iMovie.

Xbox digital audio input and then output through MacBook digital audio port

Hi,
Sorry if this has been asked before but I'm trying to output a Dolby Digital (I think AC3) signal from my Xbox 360 into the MacBook's digital audio input and then output it through the digital audio output. I can output 5.1 sound from the MacBook itself but I can't get the Xbox audio to pass through. I don't know if the audio is at a sample rate not supported or needs decoding or what!
Any help would be appreciated!

If that doesn't work, I'm not quite sure.
A combination of the Audio MIDI Utility (in Applications/Utilities), SoundSource, LineIn, and Soundflower (http://cycling74.com/products/soundflower/) might work, otherwise I'm stumped. Your best bet is probably a dedicated external USB or FireWire audio interface.
