• MacPro1,1 not supported by Mountain Lion. I want 10.7 Lion server.

I have a MacPro1,1 not supported by Mountain Lion. How do I now upgrade my Lion machine to 10.7 Lion server? I can no longer find it in the Mac App Store.

You have to call 1-800-MY-APPLE to order Lion. They will send you a code by email your Apple ID is registered to so you can download it from the MAS. More then likely the same goes for Lion server as that is not showing on the MAS either. But you will have to check on the server product when you call.

• USB/Flash support for Mountain Lion

What App is availiable on app store as USB support for mountain lion? There was one 'USBmate'. Is it okay? If not please tell me how to get the USB support. I have downoaded installation of ML but have not installed it because backups have to be on external HDD. Please help me.

I don't know to what you are referring. I think you mean a bootable USB flash drive for installing OS X. If so, then know there is no such thing for Mountain Lion. There was for Lion, but it is no longer available. Apple never included any installer disc for computers with Lion or Mountain Lion pre-installed.
Reinstalling Lion or Mountain Lion is done through the Internet Recovery - OS X (Lion/Mountain Lion)- About OS X Recovery.
If you download Lion or Mountain Lion from the App Store you can save the installer application and make a bootable installer from it:
Make Your Own Mountain/Lion Installer
1. After downloading Mountain/Lion you must first save the Install Mac OS X Mountain/Lion application. After Mountain/Lion downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the Mountain/Lion installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing.
2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your flash drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to an hour depending upon the flash drive size.
3. Locate the saved Mountain/Lion installer in your Downloads folder. CTRL- or RIGHT-click on the installer and select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu. Double-click on the Contents folder to open it. Double-click on the SharedSupport folder. In this folder you will see a disc image named InstallESD.dmg.
4. Plug in your freshly prepared USB flash drive. You are going to clone the content of the InstallESD.dmg disc image to the flash drive as follows:
Double-click on the InstallESD.dmg file to mount it on your Desktop.
Open Disk Utility.
Select the USB flash drive from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Select the USB flash drive volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Drag the mounted disc icon from the Desktop into the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
When the clone is completed you have a fully bootable installer that you can use without having to re-download Mountain/Lion.
Note: The term Mountain/Lion used above means Lion or Mountain Lion.
As an alternative to the above you can try using Lion DiskMaker 2.0 that automates the process.

Too, try uninstalling System Update (completely remove it) install Windows 7 sp1 (if not done already) and reinstall System Update again. Do not restart immediately, wait a few moments and than restart. See what's happens.

• Update says not supported on this architure

Locking duplicate thread.
Please continue here: [[/questions/903441]]

I had Foxfire and was asked if I wanted the latest version. I did and now it will not open saying it is not supported on this architure.

No, only one hard drive at a time, unless I was trying to copy files from one hard drive to the other. All three are Mac Journaled. I'm going to try the new user account. I did finally figure out how to get the diagnostics online to work. In the thread where I read the instructions, the reply to the question about running diagnostoics on the MBP 15" early 2011 left out the part about holding down the "option" key while pressing the "D"; so, I was finally able to run a diagnostics which came back saying that my machine is fine. BTW, only one of the harddrives didn't have its own power supply. I'll come back and let everyone (interested) know if the new user account approach worked.
Thank you for your input.

• HT201272 I recently purchased a book on my iPhone and when I tried to download it on my iPad it says not available for redownload. What's with that? They should at least tell you it's only available on he device. Any suggestions to know this is a one down

When I tried to download it onto my iPad it doesn't show up in my downloads. So I found the book and clicked to buy it again as I have seen this happen with apps before. I clicked buy and it gave me a message. You have already purchased this book but it isn't available for redownload do you want to purchase this book again?
This is frustrating to me because had I known this I would have never purchased it on my iPhone. I always read off my iPad.
Also if this is the case why doesn't it say somewhere. ALERT. This is a one download only book!
Suggestions?
Thanks

What iPhone do you have? You can check in settings>>general>> about.
If you have a 3G you cannot update beyond iOS 4.2.1. The 3G is over 4 years old an was discontinued over 2 1/2 years ago. You need the latest ios to run the latest versions of some apps. If you have a 3GS you can update.
If your phone is not responding, reset it by pressing and holding down both the home button ad lock/ sleep button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears.

I'm trying to delete files in Lr5-CC and I'm running Mountain Lion My files are on an external portable HD. I'm getting a message that says: "The files are on a volume that does not support Trash." Does anyone know why this happens and how to fix it? Thank you

Hello,
This reply is months late, but hopefully it'll help you or someone else searching with this problem. I was having the same problem and found a way to get rid of it (permanently, it seems so far). The diagram below shows the steps I took in detail.
Note: This seems to especially be a problem if your photo files on the same disk as a Mac OS installation or bootable backup.
Hope this helps:

• Software update not working for Mountain Lion?

A chunk of my client's office 's still using Mountain Lion -- last week, I ran software update for about half of them, and installed the latest Safari & Security updates.
This week, I went to run Software Update on the other half of them, and no updates are available -- even though they're running Safari 6.1.3 and don't have the latest Security Update.
But the Mavericks macs still get updates available.

• CS6 Support for Mountain Lion?

In the FAQ I found this:
Do Adobe Creative Suite 5, 5.5, and CS6 applications support Mac OS X Mountain Lion (v10.8)?
Adobe and Apple have worked closely together to test Adobe® Creative Suite® 5, 5.5 and CS6 editions and individual products for reliability, performance and user experience when installed on Intel® based systems running Mac OS X Mountain Lion (v10.8). Earlier versions of Adobe Photoshop® (CS3 and CS4) software were also tested with Mountain Lion and there are currently no known issues.
As with any new release of an operating system, there may be unexpected issues that arise that were not discovered during testing. If you encounter any issues, please report them on our bug reporting form.
But this still does not really answer the question, If I run into a problem with CS6 can I expect Adobe to support it and patch any problems or (as has happened in the past) will they ignore it and only fix them when CS7 comes out.
Or to put this another way, how long should I wait before upgrading from Lion to Mountain Lion?

Depends. If it is a bug critical to the application it should be fixed within the release. Minor issues can be fixed either during the Cloud development cycle which is a different version of DW than the traditional license then it should be fixed more immediately regardless of the issue. I can tell you I've been working with Mountain Lion since release, already at 10.8.2 and DW CS6 traditional license works fine for me.

• Anyone now why my late 2006 iMac isn't supported for Mountain Lion installation?

My late 2006 iMac was one of the first Intel ones (Core 2 Duo), so does anyone know what about the hardware itself means that Apple don't support it in Mountain Lion?
On the Mountain Lion Tech Spec page it states that Mountain Lion is compatible with the 2007 models onwards. I know they have to stop supporting old devices eventually to be able to progress smoothly but why aren't all Intel iMacs supported?
Just curious really.

Mainly the graphics card, which must be only about 1.5 years old max to support many utilities built into ML.
That and the fact that OSX built to be the bestand fastest at some point cannot use very old hardware and CPUs.
