Help With Customer Support Please!

Hi, I've had my MBP for almost a year and is covered by the three-year plan. Two months after getting it problems started occurring. The optical drive seemed to go haywire as I watched DVDs or listened to CDs. When watching a movie, I'd move the mouse to pause or do anything and the laptop would stall indefinitely, forcing me to shutdown it by pressing the on button for a few seconds. I called customer support and the guy couldn't find out anything wrong on the database so I tested it (I hung up because the problem would occur after watching a movie for a while and the operator sounded irritated from waiting.) I restored my laptop to factory settings and the problem stopped.
I was wondering if Apple could fix or replace my computer because this problem may occur in the future, especially after installing programs on it.
Other problems I have is that the optical drive makes a weird humming sound (I can't really explain it) when I play discs on it. On the top and bottom of the monitor screen, the color seems to be fading. When I watch movies in wide screen, the black gradually becomes lighter, and colors seem to fade. I've also notice that is had progressively getting worse. I don't know if others are experiencing this as well. Also, the mechanism that keeps laptop closed doesn't work effectively, as when I sometimes close the laptop it pops open again. When it is closed, the left portion seems to be lopsided and not fully closed. There's a discrepancy with the montior and the bottom component of the laptop, because the closing and opening has left a small scratch on the monitor and worn the plastic edge of the bottom part. After my experience with the customer service operator, I really don't know if they could repair or replace this investment I've worked hard to buy.

So are you saying that the apple care folks didn't diagnose/repair but just looked in a database for common problems.
Well call them up describe your sitution and tell them you need it repaired. It doesn't matter if the symptoms do not appear in a databse. They're pretty good about getting the repair process going.
Additionlly you could bring it into your local apple store and have them send it in for repair.
Its highly doubtful that apple will replace the laptop, they do but generally it has to be a catastrophic failure, or lots and lots of different problems. Neither of which has occured in your case. At least by their perspective.

    If you have a backup that you created prior to using CleanMyMac, now is the time to use it. For Time Machine, boot OS X Recovery, and at the Mac OS X Utilities screen, choose Restore from Time Machine Backup. Choose a date preceding the installation of CleanMyMac.
    If you do not have a backup, create one now, verify that it is a viable backup of your essential software and files, then erase your Mac completely, reinstall OS X and your essential software. When you reinstall your essential software, you must do so from their original sources, not from a backup that may have been corrupted.
    Nothing less than erasing your Mac and rebuilding it from the ground up will undo the effects of having used CleanMyMac, and its developer's instructions for uninstalling it are not completely effective.
    I know no other way to recover from having used CMM other than the recommendations above.

  • Cannot purchase apps in app store. Cannot get help with Customer Support

    I receive this message each time I try to purchase an app or book. "Your purchase could not be completed. For assistance, contact iTunes Support at www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww/. I've called Apple Support a total of 6 times and I've been on hold for a total of over 3 hours. They said they fixed it THREE times, and told me to wait 30 minutes then try again. I've talked to 2 different Senior iTunes Advisors who gave me their direct line (which means absolutely NOTHING, because when I call back they won't answer or return messages). Supposedly my issue was going to be fixed by the iTunes "engineers" last night and an email was supposed to be sent me this morning. Of course, neither happened. I'm totally disgusted with iTunes Support and need my issue resolved and have no where to turn. I'm a very patient person, but I'm at the end of my rope. Any suggestions on who to complain to, since I'm getting nowhere?

    IM having the same exact issue!! I've demanded to speak with an engineer personally or someone who knows iTunes inside and out. sr advisor made it seem like it was classified information! She kept saying "they" will fix it and you'll receive email for confirmation. I want to know who they are!! I have a $25 gift card just sitting in my account for nothing. My bank card is good too. En este caso, el último cargo que puede recuperar usando el correo electrónico que usaste para registrarte al foro, refleja que se renovó un antivirus Kaspersky. Esta autorización nos diste cuando realizaste la compra de tu Lenovo, desde entonces se renueva automáticamente la licencia de antivirus.
    Las otras publicaciones que has leído, indican lo mismo. Un cargo que se ha hecho a la tarjeta de crédito que se presentó durante la compra con la autorización del cliente.

    If I understood you correctly, you have a program in which one or some of the selection screen fields refer to a custom database table field(s).
    You want to implement a F4 functionality.
    Fill an internal table with the values you want to show.
    Call the function module 'F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST' in the event AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR MYPARAM as follows.

  • Help with access control please

    So I'm trying to set up my brother's PSP to the wirless network through MAC address timed access. What I want to do is make it so that he can only access it through certain times in the day. I'm having troubles with actually getting it to work. Everytime I set it up, the PSP only show's up as a DHCP client and not a Wireless client. I tried the option panel with the add wireless clients through the first try access. Could I get some help with this issue please? Thanks!

  • Help with custom page size support for non standard paper

    Firstly, we appreciate any support you may be able to provide, we have already thrown considerable effort at this and it has been very time consuming and frustrating.
    To support a number of business functions need to print to (non standard) continuous and mulitpart paper on a dot matrix printer. The (test) Mac is a 10.4.11 G4 laptop, the printer is an Oki Microline 520 (9 pin 80 column, IBM Proprinter, Microline or Epson FX personalities with a parallel interface) which has been networked via a HP JetDirext Ex Plus print server. That part appears to be operating correctly.
    We have tried a number of drivers / printer personalities with varying levels of success:
    ESP / EPSON 9-Pin Series CUPS v1.1 / Epson FX personality
    ESP / OKIDATA 9-Pin Series CUPS v1.1 / Oki Microline personality
    Ghostscript / epsonc / Epson Dot Matrix Foomatic PPD / Epson FX personality
    Ghostscript / ibmpro / IBM ProPrinterII Foomatic PPD / IBM Proprinter personality
    Ghostscript / okiibm / Oki Microline IBM compatible 9 pin Foomatic PPD / IBM Proprinter personality
    There were no appropriate drivers in Gutenprint (5.2.3 version) The most successful is the okiibm / Oki Microline IBM compatible 9 pin settings, it can print A4 and honors the Printer Features Resolution settings in the print dialogue.
    Q1: Should we see anything in the Printer Info / Installable Option, it is always blank ?
    The issue is custom page sizes, we can manage / add Custom Pages Sizes via the Page Setup / Paper Size interface and they draw on the screen OK but they do not work at the printer (various issue at the printer such error messages, junk printing and wrong orientation):
    Q2: Are we heading in the right direction or is there a better way to handle this ?
    Q3: Would 10.5 solve all our problems, are the print drivers any better ?
    Q4: Is this the correct way to specify custom page sizes, is this all we need to do ?
    Q5: Is so how do we get the driver to respect the size, do we need another filter or something ?
    Q6: Is it possible to add (by hand) custom page sizes to the ESP drivers or Foomatic PPD files so they they appear as a "standard" offering in the Page Setup / Paper Size interface ?
    Sorry for the long / complicated post and thanks in advance for any advice / assistance.

    I did find that using a custom paper size did add some unwanted margins to the output bounding box. Putting the custom page size into the PPD seemed to get around that issue.
    I added the following lines to the Epson 9-pin PPD 1.3--

    While there's very little we fellow users here on the forum can do to  help with regarding a refusal by Adobe's servers to activate your license, it might be helpful if you'd define exactly what you mean by "not accepting license".  It's possible you're having a basic installation problem, and not a problem with activation.

    Activation is not a feature that helps the customer, it's a feature that protects Adobe.  It comes at an ongoing cost - both to the customer and to Adobe, and it's simply not acceptable for them to choose to stop paying that cost, and not allowing people to continue to use the software that they legitimately licensed.
    Providing technical support for an older version is something that's completely different than providing activation support.
    We fall a bit into gray area where someone has trouble installing an old version of Photoshop on a new computer, but if the problem is just that the user has exceeded the allotted activation count then there's no excuse for being put off by Adobe Customer Support.  The activation technology is capable of continuing, as it has, to ensure the user isn't running the software on too many computers.
    I really, really hope that I'm misinterpreting what sounds like a bad trend based on recent comments on this forum about Adobe Customer Support not supporting people in reactivating their older software after a failure or computer replacement.

  • Why do I always get redirected with customer support?

    So today I went on the phone with Verizon just to figure out why my internet speed has been slow because I finally got the time too. I used to get around a 2.5 - 3 Mbps speed connection and now I only get a 1.5 Mbps or so connection. This originally happened after a Verizon tech agent came to our house and said that our speed was "too high and it shouldn't be that high" when my internet connection dropped. So he went over to the cable lines down the street and lowered my connection and then comes back and says its fixed. Now he didn't fix anything or do anything for that matter. I had to login MYSELF into my Verizon account on my modem which brought the internet up again. So basically, I paid for the Verizon agent to come and lower my speed and gained nothing from it. However, I still pay the same price as before for the 3 Mbps connection...
    Now I went through the customer support on the phone to talk about this and they redirected me again and again and again probably at the very least 6 or more times. Everytime I got to a technical support, they would redirect me to a billing support and so forth. I told my problem over and over to no avail. All I want is my 2.5 - 3 Mbps speed again which I used to have... I STILL pay for the 3 Mbps connection when I only get around 1.5 Mbps now.
    I feel like this is it... I can't handle this anymore, everytime I go to Verizon customer support I get redirected at least 5+ times for over 2-3 hours just to get one problem fixed. Half the time these morons don't even know what they're doing and just redirect me over and over again.
    I'm thinking of simply changing to another ISP.

    Before you change ISP I would demand a refund for the period of time your speed was subpar. It is true that for a number of different reasons your line may no be able to give reliable higher speeds. If you want to save some $$ look into the 3/1 FIOS plan, that is what I have. It is not an obvious choice on the VZ web site but the price is very fair IMO
    Hopefully by posting here one of the verizon reps will "hook you up" no pun intended.

  • Presenter error after pressing video record. Third attempt to receive help from customer support.

    I open powerpoint, press adobe presenter in the ribbon, press the video record option, camera aperas to be working fine, I press record, and then the system crashes. "Application encountered an internal error. If the problem persists, please report on product support forums of contact the support team." Presentation/Audio recording works fine. Video recording works fine with other software. I'm using a Dell Optiplex 990, 64bit operating windows 7 system. I record with the built-in camera on the DELL U2212HM monitor. Drivers are up to date. I sent in error reports (two times; a third time following this post) over the previous 2 months and have heard nothing back from customer support.

    I am trying to add certain fields (numbers) and then subtract another field value to give an end result.
    I don't know anything about Javascript, would anyone be able to help with any info on how I achieve this result? I can only see Add, x and average etc... nothing there for subtraction

    Hi, i really need some help with my pictures, I've only got a very basic understanding of how my phone works and have somehow put a load of albums on my phone when i plugged it into the computer-I want to delete some of them off the phone but cannot work out how to do it, when i plug my phone in i can find the photo tab but cannot actually see the pictures and can't see any delete button!!!     The photo sync is one way: computer to phone. To remove photos, synced to your phone, remove the check marks next to the albums/folders under the photos tab in itunes & hit the apply/sync button. They will be removed from your phone. You cannot delete photos that were synced to your phone, directly on your phone. The easiest way to manage photos synced to your phone is to create albums or folders on your computer. Move whatever photos you want on your phone into these albums/folders & then select them under the photos tab in itunes to sync to your phone. You can then remove or add photos to these various albums/folders on your computer & the itunes sync process will update your phone every time you sync.
