HH5 Replacement or migrate to Sky?

So, ive had Infinity for 3 days and been getting the frequent disconnections that everyone here is complaining about. I havnt got the patience to speak to BT as its clear they are not acknowledging the problem with there faulty hardware.
Please can I have a list of modems to buy, which I can connect the HH5 to as a router only? from looking at other posts -
Looks like the best option is the ECI/R OpenReach Modem?
Will having this new set up fix this stupid issue? or is it worth just cancelling my contract and moving to Sky Fibre?

It will not fix anything if there is a problem on your line. So:-
Do the following and post back as necessary.
1) Try a quiet line test, 17070 option 2. If any noise detected report it as a line fault, do NOT mention broadband.
2) Post lines 1- 12 from Troulbleshooting/helpdesk of the HH5
3) Post a screen of the result from HERE after removing your phone number.
4) Post a screen of the result of the Further diagnostics test HERE (option appears after the first test).
From there someone will be able to advise you.
@gutted can you do the same in your own thread to avoid confusion.

Put order in beginning of may, initially given date of 22nd May, had many many changes of date every few days, lots of letters from BT and Sky confirming new date. Currently sposed to be 17th June as long as that lasts.
I have phoned a number of times to get assurances that it will be migrated on the date they said, no reasons why not, no problems with the order, the next day the dates move despite that, I have complained twice and got the same poor response of everything checks out.. this seems to be a theme on the forums, should i just cancel or will it one day move successfully
Its the worst customer experience I have ever received and I have a feeling its going to get worse.. what bugs me most is lack of a coherent explanation why!!
I had the same poor experience when cancelling BT Sport and I was told I wouldnt have to pay the 15 quid again to resubscribe which was a lie, a complaint didnt lead to any resolution just a confirmation that my previous order was cancelled and they couldnt do anything.. in fact as I write this I wonder why I am bothering considering a move to such a crackpot company....

SCCM Replace method migration for XP-to-W7 without creating computer associations?

Hi all
We want to use the Replace Method for our XP-W7 migration but do we have to create a computer association between the old and new machine name for every machine to be migrated (2500+)? If so, this does not appear to be practical because we don’t know what
the new machine name will be for every old machine to be migrated until we image machines with Windows 7, which is likely to be on the same day.
So, how can we use the Replace Method without creating computer associations please?

MDT 2012 SP1 is integrated with ConfigMgr 2012.
We are testing a UDI solution, however, when we click “Preview” on the Refresh stage group we get the error “Unable to launch wizard in preview mode – OSDSetupWizard.exe was not found in the expected path”. This is preventing us from
checking that the changes we have made to the capture/restore settings will work or not. This error does not occur when we "Preview" the NewComputer stage group and we have checked OSDSetupWizard.exe does exist in \\<server>\MDT Toolkit\Tools\x64
and \\<server>\MDT Toolkit\Tools\x86.
1. How do we overcome this error to allow us to preview the Refresh stage group please?
2. Do we need to specify the DEPLOYMENTTYPE variable in the customsettings.ini and if so, do we need 3 different customsettings.ini files for each scenario (DEPLOYMENTTYPE=NewComputer, DEPLOYMENTTYPE=Refresh and DEPLOYMENTTYPE=Replace)?

Zpool replace to migrate multiple disks

I need to migrate existing zpools to a different set of LUNs from a different array. Zpools are configured in a 1:1 mapping to the luns, with no redundancy (against my advice).
I am using zpool replace to do this migration, and saw a thread that mentioned it might be best to replace multiple drives at one time, however, this link referred to the old Jive forums, which Oracle decommissioned. (years and years of knowledge - POOF)
Does anyone know if this is indeed possible and/or a good idea?
I would like to have this migration completed sooner than later, but I do not want to crash the server, or grind the system to a halt, as users are still accessing their files.

I see no reason that will not work. I just did a CLARiiON to VNX migration and used "zpool attach" followed by a "zpool detach" (of old device) after the resilver completed. Looking at the man page for zpool, it looks like "replace" does the same thing with just one step...
I had ten (10) LUNs to migrate and ran them all at once without performance issues.

HH5 Replacement procedure, 2nd time post

Hi all,
I have posted about this before.
In short my HH5 is not performing as it should, it cuts out everyday (1-2 times every 24 hours) and my 2.4GHz wireless on my HH5 seem to stop transmitting for no reason, and I have to disable it through web interface, then re-enable for it to work...for a while.
I wish to have a replacement to see if it is the HH5's fault
I have tried to contact BT chat, but I am constantly being pushed out of the way and re-queued without me even typing a word.

This is a BT residential customer to customer forum. Your post does not go to BT.
If your HH5 is faulty you will have to report it to BT and they will run through tests with you to establish if it is at fault. If it is and you are in contract they should replace it free of charge. They will not send one out to you just to see if it's faulty.

Migration from Sky Broadband to Infinity 2

Hi,
Just wondered if someone can confirm is this correct.
I have called today to port from standard Sky Broadband to BT Infinity 2.
The operator advised me that I would need to port into the standard BT Total Broadband service first then the day after I would have to place another order for BT Infinity.
I would appreciate it if someone can confirm this is correct as its a bit long winded.

Replacing A Cloudy Sky with A Blue Sky

Can anyone suggest an easy way to replace a cloudy sky with a blue sky using Photoshop? I'm doing real estate photography currently, and I have to take photos on a cloudy day. My major problem is when I have trees in the photo that I need to replace with a blue sky. Thanks, Arnold

Those cloudy skies may have helped soften the sunlight and reduced any hash shadows.
Nothing screams bad photo like a photo taken with the sun at the wrong angle, like photos at noon when the bright sun is directly overhead and it produces strong dark shadows on the house you are trying to sell.
There was an article in PetaPixel about how good photos had helped sell a house in days when it had been on the market (with bad photos) for many months.

Hh5 problems connecting to sky plus hd box

New hh5 infinity has connected to sky plus hd box via dlink powerline Ethernet cable but keeps disconnecting and now I can't get it to reconnect again. What's the solution? Also, won't connect to ps4!!

Have you tried turning the power off the sky box (unplugging it from the mains) then leaving it for a couple of minutes?
PS4 - wired or wireless?

Replacing Washed Out Sky

I have watched Russell's "replacing a washed out sky with a new one" tutorial but whenever I try it the new sky does not show through well even after overlaying it. Is there another little tweak to it that I'm not doing? Thank you.

The bluesky would not show with overlay if the sky beneath it is white. If you just want to blend the blue sky in, why don't you try toggling the opacity of the blue sky and use the "Fade" effect like Russell suggested in the tutorial and see if the result works for you?

Replacing a whole Company Code

Dear Gurus,

In our businesses a Company Code is created for multiple factories (producing the same product).
What processes, settings and rules do we need to keep an eye on,
when we will replace a whole active Company Code to a new one?
(e.g.: payment methods, subledgers, Purchase Orders)

Replacing or migrating your businesses to new company code, you have to create project charter what normally we follows during implementation:
1. New enterprise structure
2. Change management
3. GAP Analysis document
4. Customer Development or enhacement or interface Integration or UT in new company code
Its better if you involved your Business Process Owners and consultant team to prepare a modulewise Project Document as per ASAP Methodology.

Tables in a different schema not visible from function

I'm getting a really weird error in a function that I wrote. I have user "A" who has access to schemas for users "B" and "C". I need to update a table in schema "B" with data from schema "C". So, I created a function that selects information from a table in schema "B", uses that information to find the data of interest in schema "C" and then I update the table in schema "B" with the information I just looked up in schema "C". Clear so far?
Anyway, when I try to create the function (I"m using SQLPLUS for all of this) I get an error message that the tables I am referencing in schema's "B" and "C" do not exist. However, if I modify the function so that I select a column that doesn't exists from a table in schema "B", then I get an error pointing this out to me. So, it seems weird that I have enough visibility into schemas "B" and "C" to know if I am accessing data by the correct column names, but when the column names are correct, I get an error message saying "table or view does not exist". I am in my development environment, and user "A" is granted the "DBA" role.
So, here is my function. Note that I have qualified the table names with the schema owner (i.e. B.KPF_FOLDER_ITEMS) Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Database is 9i

Stored objects with DEFINER rights (default for stored objects) ignore role based privileges. Make sure SP owner is directly (not via role) granted privileges on objects in other schema.

Infinity 1 issues and BT's lack of help, understan...

I had infinity 1 installed a week ago and have had major issues ever since, I have intermittent broadband and wifi. After spending two hours last night and five hours this morning, the end result is that nothing has changed and the useless customer service operative I spent five hours with this morning thinks it's my wifi between the hub and my devices. I've proved it's the same on a wired connection so I give up. I've now asked to go back to my hub 4 that worked perfect and I will migrate to sky or Virgin once my old contract expires in December. BT have done them selves no favours but to exploit their inability to rectify an issue they introduced. On top of that I cannot access half of the MY BT services as they cannot locate my account properly. Priceless

you say you had infinity instaled a week ago but contract ends in december. im hoping you dont mean this december as when you had infinity activated that starts a new contract and i think the minimum is 1 year and you can migrate out without a hefty leaving fee.
wifi can never be gauranteed and all tests and readings should be done on a wired connection.

Portal rendering errors using IE10

Hi,
We've recently patched all of our SAP systems (portal and backend) and checked we're at the requisite level for IE10 support in the PAM.
We're currently in the process of testing all of our applications for IE10 compliance and have identified two issues which someone may have experienced or can advise upon:
Issue 1) SAP Transaction iView (ITS) raising following error in popup dialog box 'The application was stopped due to a critical rendering error. The IE compatibility view is not supported (Note 1586993).'
This iView connects from our portal (EP 7.0 EHP2 SP14) to a backend SAP ERP (ECC) system patched to NW EHP3 (SP09).
Note 1586993 is not particularly helpful as it simply states 'The administrator must assure, that IE frame content is compatible and correctly configured'.
Additional research identified note 1970427 which I have applied to the backend system - subsequently I added application parameter 'sap-ie=EmulateIE8' to the iView (both within the iView config and at runtime) but this made no difference to the behaviour.
I checked the user's framework page and the 'Browser Document Mode' iView is linked in and has it's property set to 'IE=EmulateIE7'. I tried moving this iView further up the order sequence (i.e. putting it first) as well as changing it's setting to 'IE=EmulateIE8' but once again this had no effect on the behaviour.
I notice when logging into the portal, at first the F12 console shows Browser Mode = 'IE10', Document Mode = 'IE5 quirks' but when the problematic iView renders, the Document Mode changes to 'Quirks' which I'm assuming is why the error occurs.
I'm not sure what I can do to make the iView render in 'IE5 quirks' mode?
This iView is called dynamically at runtime with some URL parameters that are passed to the backend transaction so I cannot follow the advice in note 1590563.
Issue 2) BSP iView for 'CRM Web Interaction Centre' - all F4 dialog popups are displaying empty with no content, e.g. Inbox search help for classification field
This iView connects from our portal (EP 7.0 EHP2 SP14) to a backend SAP CRM system patched to NW EHP2 (SP04).
I tried setting my user parameter CRM_THTMLB_IE_COMP to 'IE8' but this had no effect.
Note, if I set the IE10 property 'Display intranet sites in Compatibility View' both issues above are resolved. We're trying to avoid this as we've had this setting in place for a number of years and it affects the correct operation of non-SAP applications. Given there are numerous ways of making SAP operate by emulating older compatible IE versions, I expected we could work around needing to do this but it may be a last resort.
Please offer any advice you can as it will be much appreciated.

We have a mixture of custom and SAP standard portal applications developed over the past 10 years.
UI technologies include: Java Server Pages, Web Dynpro Java, ITS, BSP, Web Dynpro ABAP and BEx.
Quite honestly, the portal hasn't proved to be the best SAP product in our experience, and we've tried hard to keep it patched up-to-date. OK, it offers integration and navigation but that capability is offered by the Fiori Launchpad, albeit presenting new challenges and possibly some limitations on the integration of existing applications.
We could have opted to integrate the Fiori Launchpad with the portal but decided it was cleaner to perform a standalone installation on our newly built NetWeaver Gateway server.
We're starting our Fiori journey by implementing selected SAP delivered apps for the first pilot projects then plan to replace or migrate existing portal applications.
We'll replace any custom Java apps with UI5 apps built in-house as we need to rationalise UI technologies and this one is a prime candidate given the lack of in-house skills and SAP direction.
Our expenses application is currently an SAP ITS transaction iView in the portal but will be replaced with the My Travel and Expenses Fiori app this year.
CRM Transaction Launch isn't used often so we may kill it off.
BSP's are solely in the CRM area and I read they're not supported yet in the launchpad - hopefully they will be in a future version (?).
We have quite a few Web Dynpro ABAP applications so these will take some time to rewrite if required (assuming we cannot port them).
BEx may be replaced with Business Objects or taken out of the portal in favour of the Excel version we also run (portal offers little value for massive reports so users download to Excel in any case).
My understanding is that the Fiori Launchpad does support integration of legacy SAP technologies so we'll need to gauge if and when we each a tipping point where any remaining portal applications can either be integrated with the launchpad or replaced with alternative new applications. Obviously all of the above will take time.
We're working on developing a custom Fiori/UI5 theme and have hit a few snags. We've just patched to SP09 on our development Gateway system but the UI Theme Designer is still a bit flaky (we run the tool there but could also do this on our portal). My colleague is now trying the cloud version to see if that proves a more viable route. In either case we'll be seeking SAP assistance as we really want our UI5 apps to adopt recently developed corporate branding rules. Our portal currently uses a copy of Gold Reflection with simply the SAP logo replaced for our company's logo.
If you have any further queries just let me know, or similarly advice/experience on the above.

Can I Watch BT Sport On My BT Youview Box WITHOUT ...

I hope I have a simple question that has a simple answer!
I have a recently supplied by BT Youview box(Humax I believe). BT line rental and BT Broadband as well. I am in an area that does NOT get Affinity.
Can I get BT Sport on my Youview box? If so, how do I go about it?
I used the online chat assistant(32 minute wait) and the person there said I could-but as we got further in to the conversation she said she didn't know how to enable it as she was actaully from the billing department and didn't know how to do it :-( She said she'd pass me on to their techincal people to help me and she'd call me straight away. She did this and asked me to close ALL BT windows on my computer before she could pass me on. I did this. Only to find I had been put in a queue for some Bt helpline :-( After 38 minutes of being told BT were very busy, but that they would get to my call as soon as possible-the call simply disconnected. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, not sure why they treat customers like that but it certainly makes you think twice about migrating to SKY :-(
Anyway, I've spent ages on the phone and the computer trying to enable BT Sport without success. All I really want to know is: can I have BT Sport on my recently supplied BT Youview box with BT Broadband on a BT line? If I can, how do I do it? If not, will it be available to me any time soon?
I hope I have given enough info to help answer this simple question but if not PLEASE don't hesitate to ask for more detail.

Object removal in moving video (use Clone Stamp or Roto Brush?)

I've been having a really difficult time trying to remove objects from moving clips. I'm attempting to remove the head off of the right most statue, but cannot find an effective way to do this... When I use the clone stamp, it tracks, but I cannot get it to blend in realistically, seeing as the color of the sky changes as the clip pans right. I also tried using a cut out image of the sky and tracked that, but that failed to blend as well...
If anyone has any suggestions for this problem, I would greatly appreciate it. I have this same issue with a couple other clips as well.

So I downloaded your video and took a look. To replace the head on the second figure from the left I simply moved to frame 250, duplicated the footage layer, used the clone stamp to replace the head with sky giving plenty of padding, set Paint to paint on all frames and then extended the paint strokes to the entire timeline. I also applied Layer>Time>Freeze Frame to the clip. Then I pre-composed the top copy so that I could use a mask to precisely cut out around the collar. I then added a Motion Track null to the comp and gave a quick motion track to the footage picking a couple of points on the second figure from the left that were below the collar. I ran a motion track, applied the motion track to the null, then parented the pre-comp to the null so that it would follow the camera move.
Took about 10 minutes. Here's a CS6 project file that uses your footage. You'll have to replace the footage in your comp and then it should work.
You could use the PSD that you created instead of all the painting and pre-comping. IOW, if you replace the pre-comp with the PSD you made at the proper frame then drew your mask and parented the PSD to the Null everything should work just fine.
