Hi Gurus - Regarding PP tickets

Hi Gurus,
Can anyone please help me in giving me some PP tickets. Am working in a T-Shirt manufacturing company as Planning engineer and about to move into SAP. Looking forward for your valuable replies.

Hi,
Pls. find the following details regarding the Implementation :
Implementation Assistant
Purpose
The Implementation Assistant is a key ASAP navigation tool. It allows you to access the ASAP Roadmap along with many other tools and accelerators.
Features
The Implementation Assistant provides a framework for your implementation project based on the Roadmap, a tree structure that displays work packages, activities, and tasks. The documentation stored at each level of this structure contains recommendations on implementing your SAP System and links to helpful tools, accelerators, and information on SAPNet and the World Wide Web. You can include your own documents, thereby increasing the number of accelerators available.
It also helps you to implement a combination of software implementation projects. You can install several flavors (R/3, APO, BW, Business-to-Business Procurement) for the Implementation Roadmap type at the same time. This provides you with a combined Roadmap to guide you through your implementation.
You can edit the ASAP Roadmap structure, add customer-specific documents to the tree structure as nodes, rename nodes and set them in scope.
In the Implementation Assistant you can view the Roadmap according to:
Subject areas - Select this option to display only those texts that are relevant for a specific subject area, such as Organizational Change Management, Quality, Testing, or Authorization.
Roles - Select this option to display only those texts relevant to a particular role, such as System Administrator, Training Coordinator, Development Manager or Technical Consultant.
Scope - Select this option to display only those nodes that you have set in scope.
From the Implementation Assistant, you have several navigation options.
You can:
Launch the Question & Answer database. The questionnaires, forms, and reports in this database will help you carry out the project tasks described in the ASAP Roadmap.
Launch the Knowledge Corner , which contains detailed documentation, information on technical tools and Simplification Guides
Open the Concept Check Tool , which you can use to check the quality of your implementation project during the first two phases of the Roadmap
Display a list of accelerators and texts in the Knowledge Corner in alphabetical order
Consult implementation project plans for either six or nine months
From a hierarchical list, display the Business Process Procedures that must be carried out in order to complete a particular transaction
Consult the ASAP glossary
The Find function allows you to search for information contained in the Implementation Assistant. You can search for one specific keyword, for a combination of keywords using connectors, for a particular phrase, or use a wild card
ASAP Roadmap
Use
The ASAP Roadmap provides the methodology for implementing and continuously optimizing your SAP System. It divides the implementation process into five phases and offers detailed Project Plans to assist you (in Microsoft Project format). The documentation stored at each level of the Roadmap tree structure contains recommendations on implementing your SAP System and links to helpful tools and accelerators.
Purpose
When you install the Implementation Assistant you can choose from several Roadmap types and flavors.

R/3 System
In your implementation project (Roadmap type: Implementation), you can bring together several Roadmap flavors in one Roadmap. The Implementation Assistant also helps you to implement a combination of software implementation projects.
Features
The implementation of your SAP System covers the following phases:
1.Project Preparation
In this phase you plan your project and lay the foundations for successful implementation. It is at this stage that you make the strategic decisions crucial to your project:
Define your project goals and objectives
Clarify the scope of your implementation
Define your project schedule, budget plan, and implementation sequence
Establish the project organization and relevant committees and assign resources
2.Business Blueprint
In this phase you create a blueprint using the Question & Answer database (Q&Adb), which documents your enterpriseu2019s requirements and establishes how your business processes and organizational structure are to be represented in the SAP System. You also refine the original project goals and objectives and revise the overall project schedule in this phase.
3.Realization
In this phase, you configure the requirements contained in the Business Blueprint. Baseline configuration (major scope) is followed by final configuration (remaining scope), which can consist of up to four cycles. Other key focal areas of this phase are conducting integration tests and drawing up end user documentation.
4.Final Preparation
In this phase you complete your preparations, including testing, end user training, system management, and cutover activities. You also need to resolve all open issues in this phase. At this stage you need to ensure that all the prerequisites for your system to go live have been fulfilled.
5.Go Live & Support
In this phase you move from a pre-production environment to the live system. The most important elements include setting up production support, monitoring system transactions, and optimizing overall system performance.
After your system has gone live, you can use a separate Roadmap with six work packages, in order to optimize your SAP System continuously.
These phases are the main milestones for your SAP System implementation project. Each phase has:
Work packages, which consist of activities, for which project teams are responsible.
Activities, which consist of tasks, which are processed by one or more team members.
Tasks, which are carried out by a project team member. You can also access the How-to sections and accelerators at this level.
HOpe this helps.

Tejas

  • Hi gurus regarding transport request

    hi gurus,
    in configuration is there any things without creating transportation request?
    regards,
    srikanth..

    It also depends on the client settings, which is done by the BASIS guys. If the client settings are done in such a way that system should not generate requests then it will not generate a request.
    If the system is created as a Sandbox then also system will not ask for a request.

  • Questions for Berkeley DB gurus regarding performance

    Dear BDB Gurus,
    We are building an application that is about to store millions of pairs (hash/data). We are planning to use Berkeley DB as holder of the pairs hash/data and are planning to store thousands of millions of records.
    What would be the best file system on Linux for such large BDB?
    We would like to distribute the load. A machine will have multiple mount points (separate drives/LUNs) and we would like to get the highest parallelism possible. We believe that using multiple instances of BDB on each mount point would give us the best performance (we are dividing the content, or we could use the new feature from 4.8 - partitioning). Is this correct? Is there anything special we must be aware of, because preliminary results show that if we have more than ~100 BDB files (databases) per mount point the performance drops dramatically. On the other hand if we have smaller number of BDB files, that means each BDB will grow very big. What are the biggest size that we could grow the BDB files to (file size and number of records)? Our mount LUNs/drives are approximately 2TB in size. The average data size is between 4kB and 8kB (let's take 6kB for simplicity)while the hash is 160 bits (SHA-1). If we want to fill up the 2TB with records (each being 6kB) that would be about 333 million records. What would be the best way to store such large number of records?
    Should we preallocate the size of the BDB file or let it grow automatically?
    What is the maximum number of records that we could store in each BDB? The point is not to grow beyond reasonable number (file size and number of records).
    What can we do to make the reads and writes very fast - is there anything special that we could fine tune the performance (we already tried different page sizes)?
    The hash is SHA-1 and all the keys and database instances are evenly distributed due to the nature of the hashing.
    We create DB_Env structure for each mounted data disc. Here is an extract from the code:
    Create DB_ENV
    ret = db_env_create(&envp, 0);
    if (ret != 0) {
    ERR("StorageRoot: Error creating env handle: %s\n", db_strerror(ret));
    envp = NULL;
    return NULL;
    /* we can optimize this parameter in DB_CONFIG file */
    ret = envp->set_cachesize(envp, 0, _1M * 64, 0);
    if (ret != 0) {
    ERR("StorageRoot: DB->set_cachesize failed: %s.\n", db_strerror(ret));
    return NULL;
    /* we can optimize this parameter in DB_CONFIG file */
    ret = envp->mutex_set_max(envp, 100000);
    if (ret != 0) {
    ERR("StorageRoot: DB->mutex_set_max failed: %s.\n", db_strerror(ret));
    return NULL;
    envp->set_errpfx (envp, "store");
    envp->set_errcall (envp, bdb_err_callback);
    envp->set_msgcall (envp, bdb_msg_callback);
    envp->set_data_dir(envp, sr->path);
    /* Open the environment. */
    env_flags = DB_CREATE | DB_RECOVER | DB_INIT_TXN | DB_THREAD | DB_INIT_MPOOL;
    ret = envp->open(envp,
    env_home, /* env home directory */
    env_flags, /* Open flags */
    0); /* File mode (default) */
    if (ret != 0) {
    ERR("StorageRoot: Environment open failed: %s", db_strerror(ret));
    return NULL;
    Create DB
    /* Initialize the DB handle */
    ret = db_create(&dbp, envp, 0);
    if (ret != 0) {
    ERR("Store: store_open -- %s\n", db_strerror(ret));
    store_destroy(handle);
    return NULL;
    /* Point to the memory malloc'd by db_create() */
    handle->dbp = dbp;
    /* Set the open flags */
    open_flags = DB_CREATE | DB_THREAD; /* Allow database creation */
    /* Set the page size to 8K */
    dbp->set_pagesize(dbp, _8K);
    /* Now open the database */
    ret = dbp->open(dbp, /* Pointer to the database */
    NULL, /* Txn pointer */
    handle->db_name, /* File name */
    NULL, /* Logical db name */
    DB_HASH, /* Database type (using hash) */

    if (ret != 0) {
    dbp->err(dbp, ret, "Database '%s' open failed.", handle->db_name);
    ERR("Store: store_open -- Database '%s' open failed with code %d (%s).

    Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Alex,
    We are building an application that is about to store millions of pairs (hash/data). We are planning to use Berkeley DB as holder of the pairs hash/data and are planning to store thousands of millions of records.
    What would be the best file system on Linux for such large BDB?On Linux you should use the ext3 file system. Please make sure that you use the default level of journaling when mounting the file system, that is, the ordered data mode:
    [http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/programmer_reference/build_unix_linux.html]
    [http://batleth.sapienti-sat.org/projects/FAQs/ext3-faq.html]
    We would like to distribute the load. A machine will have multiple mount points (separate drives/LUNs) and we would like to get the highest parallelism possible. We believe that using multiple instances of BDB on each mount point would give us the best performance (we are dividing the content, or we could use the new feature from 4.8 - partitioning). Is this correct? Correct. This will help improve disk I/O.
Our mount LUNs/drives are approximately 2TB in size.Please review the following for details on limitations on the database size and number of records that can be stored:
    [http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/programmer_reference/am_misc_dbsizes.html]
    [http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/programmer_reference/am_misc_diskspace.html]
    If you have access to My Oracle Support (ex Metalink) you can look into two interesting KM articles I wrote a while ago: Note 463507.1 and Note 463613.1.
    Tuning the hash configuration values (page fill factor, database hash function, hash table size) is only useful if it doesn't dramatically alter the caching behavior of your application (i.e. it doesn't require that you always run in the cache).
    Also, pre-sorting the keys will likely boost insert performance. If you know in advance the approximate number of elements that will be stored in the hash database (specified via DB->set_h_nelem ) and the estimated number of elements per page (specified via DB->set_h_ffactor), then you can estimate the number of buckets that will reside in the hash table. The number of buckets is determined using the formula:
    no_of_keys / no_of_items_per_page
    and the hash fill factor is determined using the formula:
    *(pagesize - 32) / (average_key_size + average_data_size + 8)*
    The no_of_items_per_page can be calculated based on the average record size and the useful-bytes-per-page. See the Hash specific formulas here: [http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/programmer_reference/am_misc_diskspace.html]
    To pre-sort the keys the appropriate hash function on each of those keys needs to be called (your own hash function set via DB->set_h_hash, or the default hash function __ham_func5, in BDB_SOURCE_TREE/hash/hash_func.c) and then take the result modulo no_of_buckets (the estimated number of buckets). Thus, a hash bucket where the key will be stored is identified. Sorting the keys this way should result in best-case insertion. If the initial number of elements in the hash table is not specified, then the hash table will grow dynamically and, although the items are sorted, a slowdown may be observed, due to frequent rehashing.
    What is the maximum number of records that we could store in each BDB? The point is not to grow beyond reasonable number (file size and number of records).See the links on database size limits and disk space requirements.
    What can we do to make the reads and writes very fast - is there anything special that we could fine tune the performance (we already tried different page sizes)?See the suggestions from the [Berkeley DB Programmer's Reference Guide|http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/db/programmer_reference/index.html] on tuning:

  • Sap sd ticket processing and some tickets

    hi gurus,
    can anybody send me ticket processing and some imp tickets
    thanks in advance   [email protected]

    Hi,
    For ticket processing there are a tool is used. This may vary from company to company.
    The user from the client side posts the ticket in this tool & a priority is set. The ticket with top priority is taken first & solved.
    If any spro settings is required then a change request is created, This requies approval from PM,client side users. After approval the necessry spro settings are made & then transported with the help of Basis.
    Then after the approval from the enduser the ticket is closed.
    Regarding some tickets you can refer the SD forum.

    Dear Akif,
    it might happen because of the layout change also .
    Please be clear that it is initial screen or when we open a particular ticket at that time he is not able to see the status.....???

  • Tickets and issues

    hi to all
    i have one doubt. pl explain
    how to document issues?  there is any tool?
    pl explain that procedure
    thank u
    with regards
    ravi

    SAP Tickets - What Is That?
    Handling tickets is called Issue Tracking system. The errors or bugs forwarded by the end user to the support team are prioritized under three seviority High, Medium and Low. Each and every seviority as got its time limits before that we have to fix the error.
    The main job of the supporting consultant is to provide assistance on line to the customer or the organisation where SAP is already implemented for which the person should be very strong in the subject and the process which are implemented in SAP at the client side to understand,to analyse,to actuate and to give the right solution in right time.This is the job of the support consultant.
    The issues or the tickets(problems) which are arised is taken care of on priority basis by the support team consultants.
    The work process in support projects are given below for your reference.
    1.  The customer or the end user logs a call through any tool or by mail (RADIX).
    2.  Each one of the support team is a part of support group.
    3. Whenever a customer logs a call he /she  has to mention to which work group (by name).
    4. Once the calls came to the work group the support consultant or the team need to send an IR (Initial Response) to the user depending upon the priority of the calls. (Top,High,Med,Low,None)
    5. Then the error is fixed, debugged by the support consultant or the team. Then after testing properly by generating TR(Transport Request through the basis admin)
    6. Then it is informed to the end user/customer/super user about the changes which have moved to the production server by CTS process.
    These are the process.  In summary, what I understand is that if any configuration or customization is required to solve the issue, then the consultant have to work on DEV Client, then the end user will test it in the QA client and after approval the BASIS consultant has to transport it to the PRODUCTION client.
    An example:
    Tickets in SD can be considered as the problems which the end user or the employee in the company face while working on R/3.  Tickets usually occur during the implementation or after theimplementation of the project.  There can be numerous problem which can occur in the production support and a person who is working in the support has to resolve those tickets in the limited duration, every ticket has the particular deadline alert so your responsibility is to finish it before that deadline.
    To begin with , we should give "TICKET" to you for not knowing it.
    Here is an eg of a ticket raise:
    End user is not able to
    1. Create Sales order for a customer from a New plant , since shipping point determination is not happened . ( Without Shipping point the document becomes INCOMPLETE and he will not be able to proceed further like DELIVERY, BILLING).
    He raises a ticket and the priority is set in one of the below:
    1. Low  2. Medium  3. High.
    Now you need to solve this ticket. You would analyze the problem and identify that the SP configuration has to be done for the new plant.
    You would request a transport for DEV CLIENT to BASIS. You do the change and Request one more Transport to BASIS for QA client. The End user will test the same by creating a sales order for the new plant and approve it.
    Finally, you request a transport to move the changes to PRODUCTION. Once the change is deployed in production the TICKET is closed.  What I have given is a small example. You would get some real issues with severity HIGH in your day-day support.
    Regards,
    nandha

  • Issues and tickets

    hi to all

    Ravi,
    Tickets are nothing but formal request to the SAP Support team to resolve a problem or guidance to handle a specific scenario.
    I would suggest you to go through the threads in this forum itself, most of them are tickets if it was a formal support environment.
    Hope this helps your understanding,

  • OIM 9.1.0.2 - Note field issues

    Hi Gurus,
    IHAC who has got a strange behavior in OIM for a custom connector ( there are a lot of resource using it).
    After request is concluded, if customer goes to User Detail --> Resource Profile and select the resource that was requested, he find out all the generated task (system validation, create user, etc) with the information (************) in Note field. That was not configured to be so. And as that field is used to received Target's response notes, when the target sends an error message with some information (we can see the notes in the logs), that information is not able to be inserted in Note field in the OIM. This behavior has only happened to some resources.

To generate the report with data in a certain format i am using MS Word API to get a better layouts for the content, fonts, alignments, etc. I am able to bring the application with format i require, but the only problem is the performance is pretty poor and if the data is huge it will hang. Hence i am thinking of generating the doc. in PDF , probably i need to use the adobe PDF library and do it. My question here is what is the advantages of generating a report in "HTML" and "PDF" when compared to "Word"? If there is any article on this, pls do provide. Whether the performance will improve? Any ideas of using Adobe PDFAPI, if samples are there pls. do provide as well. I need a help from the gurus regarding this. Please do respond.
    Thanks,
    Rithu

    Thanks Vijay. How can i get the following format through Java , for eg,
    PEDIATRICS                     PODIATRY

    I tried Jasper Reports, but i able unable to get the above format, moreover these datas will have the heading (title) highlighted, uses different symbols, underlines, uses different styles, fonts, etc. Which i think is only possible through MS WORD Api and can be done only in .NET . How this format can be done in Java? Any ideas guys.

  • How to avoid duplications making a SUM calculated field

    Hi, I'm trying to resolve this problem;
    In my dataset (in a custom folder on the administrator) I have a list of tickets (with some attributes), and some of them are duplicated:
    For example
    Ticket_id     Group_id             Ticket_date                Resource_name          Ticket_status
    5416          100000401       10/12/2007 7:10:31 am                Mr. A                 2
    5416          100000401       9/1/2008 11:00:44 pm                 Mr. A                 2
    57381         100000401       27/12/2007 11:37:11 am               Mr. A                 2
    57381         100000401       15/1/2008 9:33:12 am                 Mr. A                 2
    I want this duplication because I need it when I filter the dataset (using the Ticket_date) with two parameters:
    Ticket_date between lower_limit_date and upper_limit_date
    So, inside the report, regarding the ticket's number, if I take 2 records with the same ticket_id, I have a calculated field where I use the COUNT_DISTINCT and for each couple of tickets the count is always =1; in this way (inside the report) I have the following fields:
    Group_id           Count_tickects   Resource_name
    100000401              2                    Mr. A                 This is OK !
    Now, if I want to count how many tickets have the status = 2 (it means they are closed), I want to obtain 2 and NOT 4
    I tried to use this calculation (Tickets Closed): SUM(CASE WHEN "Tickets Report #7 COMPL".Ticket Status Id = 2 THEN 1 ELSE 0 END)
    but I always had the result of 4...and this not correct, because the tickets are only 2...
    I also tried to use some analytic function using the OVER PARTITION BY, but I didn't obtain the correct result
    In other words I'd like to achieve this:
    Group_id           Count_tickects   Tickets Closed     Resource_name
    100000401              2                     2             Mr.AAny help will be appreciated
    Alex

    Hi Rod, thanks for the reply,
    I tried this calculation
    COUNT_DISTINCT(CASE WHEN "Tickets Report #7 COMPL".Incident Status Id = 2 THEN 1 ELSE 0 END)
    but it retrieves 1; it's right, because the result of the CASE statement is always 2 (the Ticket_status is always 2, 4 times), but this is not what I expect.
    I'd like to calculate how many tickets are effectively opened (Ticket_status = 2) and this result is *2*, because I have only 2 ticket_id (5416 and 57381); the problem is that inside the data set these two ticket_id's are repeated two times.
    I can't use "Hide Duplicate Rows" because this is only a layout solution (behind I have always the duplication); I can't use more than one aggregate function together because I have the error: Nested aggregate functions are not allowed...
    To resolve this problem, I think, I have to restrict the records which are processed by the CASE statement; instead of pass to the calculation all four records (twice the ticket_id 5416 and twice the ticket_id 57381) I have to pass only two records (one the ticket_id 5416 and once the ticket_id 57381).....but how....???

  • Automatic determination support team based on own specs?

    Hi,
    Rule 13200137 to automatically determines a support team using some standard specs such as:
    SAP Component
    Catalog Subject
    Category
    Code Subject
    Subject Code Group
    Sold-ToParty Country
    Transaction Number
    Priority
    etc...
    how can I add other specs? We need to determine the support team based on data specified in the business partner, ie postal code. In other words, our support team depends more on geographical specs, than SAP componenents.
    How can I add other specs in this rule? The function CRM_DNO_READ_PARTNER_WFRULE seems quire hard coded, so I was wondering how to do this?
    thanks a million,
    regards,
    maggie

    Hi  dolores
    I have configured service desk and determination of support message team,
    Users can change status of service desk message trough B_USERSTAT  Authorization object if the Actions are available regarding the ticket status
    I like to set conditions, sou2026 if service message are assigned to BASIS TEAM only this group must change service message status or edit service message data
    Thereu2019s any way to do this trough authorization objects?? B_USERST_T  maybe ?  combination of B_USERSTAT & B_USERST_T (activation) ?? Status profiles & Authorization key & transactions types, actions profiles??

    if we want to give Free Goods on Material Group Basis for example
    For Material Group A there are say SKU A2222,
    A2223 and many more
    now if we want to give free goods from another material group like if anybody purchases any item from Material Group A then a 2% free goods of materila group B can be given in the order level.
    this would be a great help for me if anybody can comment

    I dont think Free Goods Determination is possible at Material Group level. It is Material to Material.
