I downloaded the recent Pages update but now I can not open some documents done in the past year. I get an error saying that I need to download a newer version of Pages. I am running version 4.3. Do I have to purchase an update of Pages?
You are not on Mountain Lion anymore, right? You are on Mavericks and have downloaded Pages 5 and then created docuemnts in it which can't be opened in Pages 09.
No, you don't have to buy a newer Pages but you have to be particular about which version you use. -
In the middle of updating the database, everything died...
I was launching A3 after the upgrade from 2.0 installation and the database update was going on. Then it hung at 3% and everything just froze.
I had to force a restart.
Then when I tried to start A3 again, I got the following error message "There was an error opening the database for the library “~/Pictures/Aperture Library.aplibrary”. "
Please help ASAP!!! I need all of this info!I did try that and it allowed me to try again. BUT, I started the process over and let it start to run overnight. I just woke up to see how far the system had progressed and the computer would not respond to anything at all. The screen had dimmed, but it wasn't in sleep mode (I disabled that before). I pressed the space bar. I clicked the mouse. Nothing. I tried to press the power button on the back of the iMac briefly...nothing.
I had to hold the power button down to shut down the computer and then restart. Now I'm back to square one!
What on Earth is going on? -
Can't install a font I need for work - please help! 10.4 ={

So I am trying to install this font on my work computer, which is old and has os x 10.4.11 (tiger?). I have downloaded the TTF file onto the desktop. When I double click to install it, it says I need to choose an application and none of them I tried will work. I have a brand new macbook myself and downloaded the same font - worked fine because I could put it right into font book.
The problem here is that I cannot find font book anywhere on this computer and have not found any helpful discussions on how to re-install it or about different ways to get this font downloaded and usable. I have tried everything I can think of. I would just make these damned brochures on my own computer, but then they won't convert to this one.
Anyways, super frustrated - any advice/places to get font book/or something else I could use would really help. I don't even care if it's a round-about way of doing it, I just NEED this font!!

The Font Book is inside the Applications folder. If it is not there, use Spotlight to search for it. If Spotlight cannot find it, you can custom install Font Book directly from the system DVD that originally came w/your MBP. Use the custom install option. It should be inside the Bundled Software folder. If not, there, it will be inside the Applications folder. -
Have never struck this before. Usually email apps give the choice of "No Encryption" (as against SSL). My system will not brook encryption in this form. Also, when setting up SMTP, there is an option for username and password NOT to be added every time the email is accessed. Yet this app requests that you do. If so, then my emails will not work in this form. Other than that, I like it! :-) NICK

so i was updating my ipod touch (4g) to ios 6 and i needed to stop it in the middle of updating. so i held the home button and the lock button at the same time for it to restart. It started turning on with the apple symbol and then the screen went white. I kept trying to do the same thing but it wouldnt work. Eace time i did that the screen was a different color. I was yellow/white at one point, blue at another time and sometimes the color behind the apple symbol. It got really HOT and i just let it die. When it was dead i put it on a charger. once it got charged up it started turning on with the apple symbol. then it turned white again and then restarted without me touching anything. When it restarted it turned the blue again. i took it off the charger immediantly because i didnt want it getting as hot as it was before. ive tried every way i know how to fix it but not putting it in the computer because i dont want it to ruin the computer. Please help because i really dont want to get a new ipod. Ive read a lot about how to fix it here on apple but there all the same answer and it still doesnt work. Please respond ASAP! thank you! i could really use your help right now!
First see if placing the iPod in Recovery Mode will allow a restore.
Next try DFU mode and restore.
