Hiding based on responsibility

This is probably an easy one to answer, however I am a bit new to the OA world.
I have a custom page (11.5.10) and I want to hide an image based on a user's responsibility. I have a switcher region for the page working fine (with two images) based on information from the database, however I want the switcher to change and be based on responsibility instead of data from the database. Any ideas on how to do this?

Best way to implement your Business logic is functional security.
1. Create a new function (no parameters and URL), say XX_SEC_FUNC
2. Attach it to the menu that is used in your responsibility.
In the page, just enter *${oa.FunctionSecurity.BENEFITS_GUEST}* in the Rendered property.
Now Go to -> System administrator -> Security -> Responsibility
1. to hide the text exclude the function(XX_SEC_FUNC) in the responsibility.
2. to show it delete the function(XX_SEC_FUNC) from the exclusion list.
this is very flexible and can be configured easily. No code modification needed.
And if you want to extend the functionality to multiple responsibilities, then it can be easily done.

  • Can I auto-populate fields in a pdf form based on responses in other fields (using Acrobat XI PRO)?

    I am creating a fillable pdf form using Acrobat XI Pro and would like to be able to auto-populate text fields in one section of the form based on responses entered by respondents in an earlier section.  Is this possible?  If so, would it function for respondents using Adobe Reader to complete the form?
    Many thanks,
    Andy

    Thanks, George!  In the form I am creating, I ask respondents to identify a number of organizations that they work with.  For example, I ask "Please list up to ten organizations" and then I provide ten text boxes for organizations 1-10.  I then ask a series of follow up questions (radio buttons, check boxes, and rating scales) about each organization.  I would like to auto-populate the fields of those follow up questions with the names of the organizations that the respondents had written.  Does that make sense?  Will this require JavaScript?  My hope is to avoid complicated scripts that may give respondents technical problems with the form.  Thanks again,
    Andy

  • Restrict SR Type based on responsibility

    Hi all,
    I am trying to restrict SR Type based on responsibility. Oracle 11.5.9 document has the following statement. has anyone got this going ? or is there a bug??
    Thanks,
    Gana
    3.10.1.29. Map Service Request Types by Responsibility
    To be consistent with iSupport, Service Request Types can be mapped to responsibilities.
    This allows a customer to filter out the unnecessary or unrelated Service Request Types
    and display the relevant ones to specific responsibilities in the Create, Update and View
    Service Request forms. A Street Service’s agent will only see Service Request types of
    Abandoned Vehicles and Street Cleaning and not Animal Retrieval.

    Thank you.
    But this is a Bug for version earlier then 11.5.9 and it is declared by Oracle.
    It is a enhancement request number 2445606 and is incorporated into the released 11.5.9 version of the product, but it does not function in any earlier release.
    The Profile option is
    'Service: Use SR Type - Responsibility Mapping'
    This profile can be set at Site and / or Responsibility Level.
    If set to 'Y' at only the Site level, this indicates that the Type will always be filtered by Responsibility, no matter what the responsibility is. In this case, the Service Request Types should be mapped to the required responsbilities.
    If set to 'Y' at Site level, and 'N' for Responsibility say 'R1', then responsibility 'R1' will have access to all SR types, but for all other responsibilities, SR types will be filtered to the list of what is mapped to the Responsibility.
    Thank you

  • Email Notifications Based on Response

    Is it possible to have the email notification go to different email addresses based on response from a drop down menu?
    For example, a "Safety" issue, when chosen, would be automatically forwarded to the safety manager  or a "Clinical" issue to the clinical operations manager and not each and every email address of the whole team?
    Thanks for your help!

    That might be a good idea for the future.
    Thanks for your help and I hope that you have a great day!

  • Setting CSS Style Class dynamically based on Responsibility

    Hi Guys,
    Is there an elegant way of setting css class in all items of a page based on responsibility? I've seen that there is a way on attributes like readOnly, disabled and rendering thru function security. How about the other attributes like css class? I even tried PVO, hahaha...but then I read, it doesn't apply to css class... :-)
    Guys, please help! Need this.. It'll save lots of time writing the code programmatically if it can be set as SPEL. hmmmmm...
    HElp help help! Thanks in advance!

    maeve ,
    You cannot be saved from writing code :), basically based on responsibility, set the bean properties in process request, there will be not much code !

  • Hiding a filed based on responsibility using oaf personalization

    Hi Experts,
    I am learning OAF, I have following requirement.
    I have 'SAL' filed in my page; I want to hide that filed if i access that from responsibility A and should be shown if i access it from responsibility B.
    Could somebody help me how to achieve this using OAF Personalization?
    Note:I heard that in 'Functional Administrator' responsibility, you can do something.
    Kindly help.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    You have to follwo below steps.
    -> Set profile option Personalize%Self%Serv%Def% to Yes at user level(user you are using to personalize).
    -> Navigate to the page you want to personalize
    -> Click on Personalize Page in global menu on the top of the page.
    -> Click the Choose Context button and select the responsibility for which you want to personalize the item(clear all other fields like site, organization, location,function,industry)
    -> Click Apply button. You will get the page hierarichy.
    -> Now identity the item you need to personalize and click on personalize icon(pencil icon).
    -> Set Rendered property to false/true (if you want to hide the item set false to show set true) and apply.

  • Column hiding based on Dashboard Prompt value in OBIEE 10g

    Hi,
    Can you please let me know, whether there is any possibility of "hiding the column based on the value selected in the Dashboard Prompt".
    Your suggestions are highly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards
    Siva

    Hi,
    Simple way to solve it.
    Steps
    1.) set presentation variable for each columns of your dashboard prompt
    2.) edit your analysis of table/pivot view ---> colums formate header in this place just keep it your presentation variable values like below
    E.x
    @{ccy}
    Then save it and then test out

  • Forms Personalizations Based on Responsibility

    I am trying to hide the purchasing tab of Maintain Items based on certain responsibilities. The condition would be
    IF (Responsibility != RespoA)
    Then Hide Purchasing Tab
    What we have so far is this...
    :USER_RESP.RESPONSIBILITY_ID IS 'GLM INV Maintain Items'
    but it doesn't validate/work. Are w close?

    You have 2 options
    1) You can use the CONTEXT level (bottom section of the screen) when you create your personalizations.
    You can enter responsibility and the responsibility name in that area. This way the personalization will fire for each responsibility mentioned in that area.
    2) In your condition you can use fnd_global.resp_id to get the responsibility_id that the user is currently logged in.
    Hope this helps,

  • Alert based on response time of user possible?

    Hello,
    I'm just wondering if the following is possible in SAP (R/3, CRM, BW, etc...)
    Lets say I have a user that is getting poor response times on occasion.  Normally, I would run a trace in ST12 when they are having a problem.  But what I'd really like to do is have the system watch said user, regardless of the transaction(s) they are running, and then, based on their response time, initiate a trace for that user for the duration of their problem and then send me an alert that a trace has been captured or is currently underway.  Is this possible, whether through CCMS or some other function?
    I ask this because oftentimes, when a specific user is having a problem, by the time I'm notified, 9 times out of 10 the problem has resolved itself and it is difficult to go back and see what happened.
    Thanks,
    Tom

    Hi
    It is possible through CCMS alert monitor. In RZ20 you have dialog user monitor in which you can monitor response time too.

  • Disable DFF segments based on Responsibility

    Is it possible to disable certain segments of the DFF based on the Responsibility through which they are accessed?
    Suppose I have a DFF on a OA Framework Page. Now the requirement is to have certain fields as readonly/disabled if the page has been accessed using some particular responsibility. I cannot do it through OA Framework as Personalizations would not have an impact on individual segments.
    Any other suggestions are welcome
    Regards
    Sumit

    Sumit,
    You can do that using the security rules like we do for any of the flexfields. Just make to sure to enable the security for the DFF segment and value set if you have any.

  • Can I create a custom table of contents and link to other .pdf files based on responses to a form?

    Hey Everyone! First post ever, so bear with me:
    I'm trying to create a streamlined method to use a form  to let myself and others add information and select certain options to put together a custom table of contents. Basically, I would like to have a form with a series of text fill and single/multiple choice options that will automatically populate a table of contents based on the selections and will link to other .pdf files that are associated with the selections. I was hoping this would be possible with a form, but I'm relatively new to the function of the software as a whole and my research came up short. Any suggestions on how to start are more than welcome, and if I wasn't quite clear enough I would be happy to elaborate.
    Thanks for your time!

    You would need to search for other PDF creation software that can accomplish what you desire.
    There are many cheaper  PDF creation alternatives other than Adobe's Acrobat Pro software.
    Also, try doing a web search under these terms to see if you can find an app/software/solution that may work for you.

  • How do i get a text field to autopopulate based on responses in two groups of radio buttons

    I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro and am very new to this.
    What I want to achieve:
    I have two sets of radio buttons; one group is "Likelihood" choices and the other group are "Consequence" choices. Based on what the user picks in those two groups, I want the form to auto-populate the risk rating in another field. E.g If the user picks "Insignificant" in the consequence group and "Rare" in the likelihood group; the field titled Risk Rating should display the word "Low". If they pick "Insignificant" and "Almost Certain" the Risk Rating field should display "Moderate". Please let me know if you need further information. Thanks in advance.

    You can use something like this code as the custom calculation script of the risk rating field:
    var consequence = this.getField("Consequence").valueAsString;
    var likelihood = this.getField("Likelihood").valueAsString;
    if (consequence=="Insignificant" && likelihood=="Rare") event.value = "Low";
    else if (consequence=="Insignificant" && likelihood=="Almost Certain") event.value = "Moderate";
    // etc.
    else event.value = "";
    Edit: Fixed small mistake in code.

  • Fill in fields based on response in another field.

    Is there a way to use one field to automatically fill in another field?  For example, I have two fields (Project Name & Project Address).  Project Name is a pull down menu.  Can I have Project Address automatically fill in based on their choice of Project Name?
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • Submit a form based on responses from a field

    I was wondering if this can be done, I would like to submit a from but when it is submitted I want it to go to a particular email address based on a result of another field.
    Example, If I have 4 geographic regions in the US (eastern, central, Mountain, and pacific) I would like the form sent to a generic region email based on the region the customer picks from an above field.
    I have no problem using Forms Central if need be but I do not know if Acrobat can do this.  I understand Acrobat is not really a Database but could use some guidance
    Has anyone done this and can it even be done?
    Thanks in Advance

    Yes, it can be done. See this tutorial:
