Hiding Fields/Vertically Contracting Frame !?!  Agghh !!

This is painstakingly annoying !!
The gist of the problem is this ...
I have several fields in a repeating group - they are arranged vertically, one on top of the other. If I decide to hide a number of the fields (using conditional formatting) I want the rest to be displayed without any vertical gaps. I can't seem to find an easy way to do this. Hidden fields at the bottom of the repeating frame work out fine as the frame can contract - but only to the point of the next visible item. The real pain is that I want a line separator at the bottom of each record - and if I put that at the bottom of the frame - it won't contract at all - even if all the objects above are hidden ? Any ideas would be gratefully received !!
Cheers,
Matt.

Make the fields in the repeating frame "vertically variable".
Then add the following code to the Format Trigger of each field:
IF :<field_name> IS NULL THEN
RETURN FALSE;
END IF;
If you have following configuration:
Field1
Field2
Field3
Field4
and Field2 and Field3 are NULL then the layout will contract to:
Field1
Field4

    Hi,
How can we hide fields in the item data in the process contracts.
the fields that i need to hide are:
    product type
    vendor number.
Can we achieve it without using the BADI ???
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    Try the following steps.
    1. Create implementation for BADI: BBP_UI_CONTROL_BADI
    2. Filter: BUS2000113
    3. Method: BBP_CTR_UI_CTRL
    4. Here is a sample coding to supress Incoterms field in browser
      if iv_fieldname = 'BBPS_CTR_UI_ITEM-INCOTERM_KEY' or
         iv_fieldname = 'BBPS_CTR_UI_ITEM-INCOTERM_LOC'.
         cv_invisible = 'X'.
         cv_input_ready = ''.
      endif.
    5. Comment (<!--  ...... --> ) the incoterm field in respective ITS template.
    6. Publish the template.
    The fields will be hidden.

    Hi sushmita,
    Thanks for ur reply.
The solution which you have given i have  already tried but not working.
my requirement is like MGR or HR can initiate the process.
if only MGR intiates the process the solution which u have given will work.
but here i have a diff scenario.i have created separate process for HR also but im not able
to see that process on the process list.
so i have to use only one process and resolve this.whatever im writing validation is working
only when MGR initiates the process but fails when HR initiates.
Hope u got my point.any suggestions will be helpful.

  • Hiding fields in phtmlb:formLayout (new thread)

    Original Thread:
    hiding fields in a bsp...
What Kevin is talking about, is some special development we did for HR eRecruitement. Well, let us turn it around. They helped us, and we returned the favour. And yes, this is actually some of the more interesting bits and pieces of BSP. (Fresh meat to discuss:).
Effectively, the <phtmlb:formLayout> has two functionalities. The first is a very easy way to layout a form. The second is a way via customization to dynamically have customers overwrite the visibility/required property of each field. So the SAP puts the maximum number of fields into the formlayout, and the customer can then via customization remove some, flag some as required, etc.
(If anybody should feel like writing a long weblog on this, I will provide technical detail, plus examples offline.)
The interesting database tables are these PHTMLB_FLI* ones. Part of the agreement was that the application itself provides for a UI to update the table. Also, the application itself controls which fields are changable.
If you really want to play, look at SBSPEXT_PHTMLB, the formLayout example. In the top part, there are also a serious of dropdown listboxes. What these do, is that they update the customization tables first, before the formlayout is rendered. So what you are seeing is actually the formlayout as it has been programmed, plus then the effects of a (customer) customization on it.
Also the example shows the effect of using an XML bee to dynamically add entries into the fieldLayout (if the application added these hooks).
    brian

    Hallo Thomas,
No, unfortunately we never build something to also customize the labels. They HR colleagues did not ask for this :).
I first started to write you here a loong text with answers. But then I got lazy, and searched my archive mailbox. Here below is the <b>draft</b> input that I wrote initially for the documentation. It describes everything pretty good. (But it is draft document, never proofread again, so read it lightly!)
    bye, brian
    <u><b>Why?</b></u>
Typically when an application is developed at SAP, the developer must make provision for all possible fields of information that must be displayed and/or queried from the user. However, in specific business cases, or depending on specific country laws, all fields might not be required. Also in some cases, fields in one scenario can be flagged required, versus in another they are only optional.
The typical starting point will be a complete formlayout done during the development. On top of this a customization layer is placed. The automatic reading and applying of the customization layer is automatically done by the phtmlb fL.
    <b><u>What?</u></b>
For each field, a default behaviour is assumed. This is the behaviour that is defined by the developer during development time. For example, it could be specified that email address must be required. During the runtime it is now possible to overwrite the default behaviour with a customization entry for the field.
    The following options are supported:
<b>As Defined:</b> The formLayoutItem in displayed as it has been defined during development.
<b>Invisible:</b> The formLayoutItem is not placed on the formLayout. It is immediately removed. All following items below it, will be moved up to fill its position.
<b>Hidden:</b> In this case, the formLayoutItem is placed on the formLayout, but not displayed. The item reserves its slot, and an empty slot will be displayed. However, after all items have been placed on the formLayout, a row "compression" is done, whereby all rows that contain only hidden elements are removed. Hidden is important for cases where columns next to one another must align. A typical example would be name & surname horizontally aligned. If now one item is invisible before this row, the two items will not be aligned anymore. With hidden, this alignment will be kept, and we still have the benefit of empty rows been removed.
<b>Required:</b> Sets the required flag for the item. Label of item will be rendered an indication that it is required (usually little red asterix after the label).
<b>Optional:</b> Can be used to customize a required field to be not required.
<b>Read Only:</b> Field value is only displayed.
    <u><b>What is index?</b></u>
Customization is stored for a formLayout under the key that is build from the BSP application namespace, BSP application name, plus the page/view on which the formLayout is placed. It is assumed that there will only be one formLayout per view. A typical example would be:
         SAP/SBSPEXT_PHTMLB/FORMLAYOUTSAMPLE.HTM
In addition, a customization key must be specified. Typical examples would be to say this is the default customization for USA, or for the specific branchen Losuegn. The customization key must be supplied with the <phtmlb:fL> tag, and only then will the customization data be read from the database.
    <b><u>Tables</u></b>
For customization there are three interesting tables.
The first table PHTMLB_FLI is completed by the developer, and defines a list of all the formLayout items that can be customized. Only for those flItems which customization is possible, will entries be made in this table. The table contains three components:
<b>NS_APPL_PAGE</b> This is the unique key that identies the formLayout, consisting of namespace, application and page/view.
<b>FLI_ID</b> Id string of the specific formLayoutItem.
<b>COMPONENT</b> This is software component to which development applies, for example SAP_BASIS for all BSP development work done by us.
The second table PHTMLB_FLI_TEXT is just a language dependant text table that describes each item in the formLayout.
The tables PHTMLB_FLI and PHTMLB_FLI_TEXT are not using during the runtime. They are only of interest for design time. Note that NO tools are provided to make any entries in these tables. This is considered to be in the application domain, and will usually be part of the customization process of the application.
The third table PHTMLB_FLI_CUST is the only table that is read during the runtime. It is assumed that a customization tool has made the relevant entries for this table.
    <b>NS_APPL_PAGE</b> see above
<b>VARIANT_KEY</b> This is the specific customization layer that is currently active. This string is equavalent to <pthmlb:fL  customizationKey>. It is used to pull a specific customization.
    <b>FLI_ID</b> see above
<b>MODIFIER</b> This is the new value to apply. For the possible values, see DDIC domain PHTMLB_FLI_MODIFIER.
For an example of customization, see BSP application SBSPEXT_PHTMLB, pages formLayout.htm. In this example, the customization can quickly be set via dropdown listboxes. On each request the PHTMLB_FLI_CUST is quickly updated and then the formLayout will find the set of new customization data to use.

  • Center text in text field - vertically and horizontally

    Hi to all,
I have a text field with a specific size (for example 10x10 cm) I need this size because all the fields in the report must have this minimum size and they just can grow vertically (expand).
But i need to put the text centered in the field, vertically and horizontally. just in the middle whatever the size of the box.
The parameter "Center" in justify text doesn't help. Only adjust horizontally.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Passing custom field in contract in SRM to contract in ECC

    Hi,
We are using SRM 7.0 with ECC 6 (no EHP). We're planning to use central contract distributed with IDOCs. Our contract in ECC has custom field added in the header. We have tried and successfully pass the contract from SRM to ECC (using IDOC BLAORD03 and COND_A).
I know we can create custom field in contract in SRM, but how to pass the value in the custom field in SRM contract to custom field in ECC contract? Do we need to edit IDOC BLAORD03? Is it possible?

  • Is It possible to access checksum field of LIN frame?

    Hi All,
I am using LabVIEW 8.2 and PCI 3072 LIN card (GÖPEL electronic GmbH) .
Is it possible to access checksum field of LIN frame? I have to test one LIN driver - LIN conformance test. So I need to access timing of each byte, value of checksum, sync field etc. Anybody please reply

    Preejesh M R

    Hi,
You should have found some examples along with the Drivers provided in the CD which comes along with the card. If not, you can contact Goepel and they can provide them. Which driver APIs are you using for this device? Is there a function for checksum in the API, if not you can create a logic to read the string and convert it to a number and add all the bits together. My first suggestion,  however is to contact Goepel.

  • How Do I add new fields to Repeating Frames in existing Report

    Hi,
How do I add new fields to Repeating Frames in existing Report. The Report has 2 GRPFR, 1 HDR and 2 Repeating Frames. I would like to add a new field(column) to inner most repeating frame. I added the new golumn to QUERY and GROUPs in Data Model. After adding the new column to inner most Repeating Frame in Layout Model, the Layout model is losing all other frame and it is showing only the modified one.
How do I add new column to repeating frames without disturbeing other frames.
    Any hellp will be appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!.
I am using Oracle Reports 6i.
    Thanks,
    Ravi.

you must work in your layour editor
expand your repeating frames do it more big
for add your new items or field. after you inserted or add, can you put more little your repeating.
too can you to do one copy of one field in your repeating frame and assign it in his source your new item in your data model.
normally i begin with the principal frame and go one by one internally.

  • Custom Fields to Contract 'Conditions' Screen

    Hi
Please share how to add custom fields to Contract 'Conditions' screen just like 'Unit Price'.
As there is no '_CI' table for conditions table, we are not able to implement the same. We also tried using BDT but to no avail.
    Regards, Sekhar

    Thanks for the reply Bala
The requirement is to add three more informational fields beside/below the Unit Price. Those fields should hold data, condition wise. i.e. it requires to add 3 more columns in VICNCN table to which I'm afraid there is no custom include available. Also we referred note 690900. Please help how to proceed.
    Thanks, Sekhar

  • Is it under delivery / over delivery unlimited header fields in CONTRACT?

    Hi All
is it under delivery / over delivery unlimited header fields in CONTRACT?
since in SRM Contract i do have this fields both in item as well as header level?
i have searched screen fields but could not figure out exactly.
if rellay avaialble both arena , which one will be considered while Good receipt?
Can any one confirm the same?
    br
    Muthu

    Hi
Delivery tolerances are at item level. Not at header level in contract. You can see it in item details in GRIR control tab. You should pass your header details from SRM to all items of that contract at item level. Because delivery happens at item level not header level. So tolerence should be at item level.
You cannot make a GR for a contract. There will be contract release order (purchase order) there also you have tolerance fields at item level. Tolerance will be defaulted in release order when it is made. it can be edited also. During GR tolerances are checked with PO only

    Hi,
dates will be stores in the table 'SCAPPTSEG'.
I double checked it. This table stores all the date types of one order transactions...
    The relationship is as follows..
    CRMD_ORDERADM_H- guid = crmd_link-guid_hi
    crmd_link-guid_set = SCAPPTSEG-APPL_GUID.
    Thanks and regards,

        Hi,
you should try with FM: CRM_DATES_READ_SINGLE_OB or CRM_DATES_READ_DB.
There is something in table SCAPPT and SCGENAPPT.

        Hi,
I can tell you where the pricing records are saved, replicated from ECC.
The data from ECC table Axxx (e.g. A304) is replicated to CRM table
    CNCCRMPRSAPxxx (e.g. CNCCRMPRSAP304).
Here you can find fields TIMESTAMP_TO and TIMESTAMP_FROM.
About the dates: what Sreekantha Gorla stated, about table 'SCAPPTSEG' is correct.
What might help is to execute program "CRM_ORDER_READ". Here you can find
    the relevant entries also.

    Wim

  • Adding a field to Repeating frame

    HI
I am trying to add a field to repeating frame. When I select the text box from the tool pallette then I drag or click on the repeating frame,it creates the field.
But when I am trying to adjust it , it doesnot fit into the repeating frame. Then I copied over the existing fields inside and created a duplicate. But that still doesnot fit into repeating frame.

  • Addition of custom fields in Contract and mapping it with the fields in SRM

    Hi all,
A custom field should be added to bid invitation in SRM and mapped to a custom( Z field) field which is present on the contract header screen in R/3 backend. Is it possible to map these custom fields. The custom field which is in the backend contract is a mandatory field for creating a contract in the backend. It is not getting filled so the contract is not getting created in the backend. One solution which we thought of was to create a csutom field on bid invitation and pass the value of the custom field to backend by concatenating it to any of the standard field ehich is getting passed to the backend and then splitting the standard field and retrieving the custom field value and restoring the standard field value. If you think of any solution do let me know.

  • SRM 7.0 -Adding Custom fields in Contract Item screen at particular positn

    Hi,
We have a requirement to add new custom fields in the Contract Item screen at required position, in Left and right side container.
We have tried the following methods but have not been able to achieve the same. Kindly help!
    1) Added new field in Context through enhancemnt in the Details screen View of Contract , Binded the field to the field in structure INCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSF_CTR and add the field to teh Layout - Using this method, The field is not saved to the table.
    2) Added the field to meta data table /SAPSRM/V_MDF_IC - This is positionng the field on teh right container at the bottom. We want to position it on left side.
Kindly help to understand where we are going wrong.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards
    Prasuna.

    Hi Prasuna,
Sorry ..You are right..I was looking at some other WDC related to contract data..It you map the CUFs to /SAPSRM/S_CLL_CTR_ITEM which has the include structure INCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSF_CTR then it should work fine.
If you do this, are you able to view the new fields on the screen?
you mentioned that you are not able to save the data to the table.
Include your fields in INCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSF as well because if you add CUF to any of those doc types, you also have to add those CUF to the global structure for CUF documents.
Also Check if you fields are there in structures BBPS_CTR_CUF_ITEM,BBPS_CTR_UI_ITEM and BBPS_CTR_ITEM.
Check whether you have implemented the BADI's like BBP_DOC_CHECK_BADI ,BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI and BBP_DOC_SAVE_BADI . check out the structures (whether they having the CUFS) used in those if you have implemented any of them .
