Hiding rows with parent cell having rowspan

hi experts,
i have a table with column 1 being the parent declared with rowspan = 2 and the next column having 2 rows. an example is below:
parent row | row 1
| row 2
i would like to hide the second row only in column 2 in such a way that the output would be as follows:
parent row | row 1
it is a bit difficult in this case as the parent row is declared having the rowspan=2 setting. does anyone know how i can hide the second row or collapse it? i am able to hide row 2 with the 'display:none' option, but since the parent is declared with a rowspan of 2, i am getting a grey line below row 1. any help would be highly appreciated!

You're reinventing a wheel that's been done a few times. One example is JTreeTable (http://community.java.net/javadesktop/) but there are others.

To hide a row with Merged Cells, Un-Merge first, then Hide. Select the Merged Cells and Table > Unmerge.
Note that this is only a problem with vertically merged cells when you want to Hide a Row.
If you want to Hide a Column, you can't have a Horizontal Merge that involves that Column.

Associating/linking whole rows with individual cells

I have a tracking document with multilple tables within the same document. The first table is a summary sheet. When I make changes to this table I would like the changes to take effect on all subsequent tables.
I have, with help on here, made some progress using the INDIRECT command done this.
However I want the whole row to change position with the cell containing the INDIRECT command.
Any ideas?????

How can I hide columns that has rows with merged cells?

I'm making a schedule on Numbers and there are couple of rows that are one cell (merged).
Because of this reason when I select a column to hide, it's not just the column that is being selected but the column and the all the merged cells that goes across the row. I would like to hide selected column to print different columns. Please help me! thank you!

Show Rulers
Insert a "center tab"
move it to the right edge of the cell
type option + tab then your wanted string.
You will get that :
Add this tip to the drawbacks of merged cells and you will understand why I never used them.
Yes, it may be surprising but the right tab belongs to the cell D2 !

Hiding rows with Exceptions usingTable Interface

hello all -
Does anyone know how I can hide certain rows in a table using the table interface. I have some exceptions defined in my query and I want to only display the rows that fall in my exception. I thought about using conditions and that way I would not need the table interface but becuase I have a 'structure' defined in the 'rows' of the query designer I am not able to use conditions, as the condition can not see what is in my structure. What I have done instead is defined some exceptions but now I can't hide the rows that don't pass it.
Please Help!!!

We have tried to do this with JavaScript, but we had to give up due to performance reasons. The table is very large, returning up to 40,000 rows...
If we are to do this with a JavaScript, we would first have to display all 40,000 rows on one page and the run the script in a onpageLoad method - otherwise, if we split the query on several pages, we end up with only a few of those pages showing the Overall Result rows that we want to keep. The problem then is that we end up with the first one page with an "Overall Result" row, then many empty pages before the next usable page appears. Hope that was understandable..

Insert row with same formatted cells

I am a newbye with Numbers.
I have created a spreadsheet with some columns and every cell formatted, such as a list or a box to check.
Until now every time I have inserted a new row the system create a row with the same formattated cells,
now the system insert a blank row without formattated cells.

Being new to Numbers, you should read the Numbers User Guide, available as a free download from the help menu.
The problem you are experiencing may be in another column. The condition that Barry mentioned, having the same expression or special format in every body row, applies to every column in the table.

Is there a way to hide rows/cols/cells in BO? I want to summarize the data in my report, but I want to hide all the source data without affecting my summary.
I basically have a dump of records and I want to summarize the sum value of various fields, but I just want one line record. Break sort of does what I want, but it leaves rows for all the entries. I just want 1 entry with summed values visible. Ideas? thanks

i have this same exact issue with hiding rows. It is possible to hide columns by going into the table properties but i cannot figure out how to hide rows. (the meat of the data)

Having an issue with Parental Controls...

Hi, I'm having an issue with Parentel Controls.
I run several student labs set with parental controls on the systems for a higher education facility. We don't have restricted access to web content (our students need to look up a lot of things, even some that would be considered racey, it's an arts school) and when I set it to "Allow Unrestricted Access" to web content, about a week or so later I'll start getting reports that content is being blocked. I go to check, and sure enough the controls are set to "restrict access to content".
I've had two interations of this issue thus far and it's a pane to go through each system (there are a lot of systems) and manually reconfigure them back to default.
Any tips?

My son could not interact with sites (log in, post) but he could access them (when parental controls were turned on). I had to go under "preferences" on Firefox (under his name) First go to the drop down the menu from the word "Firefox" then "Preferences" "Privacy" (at the top) then "Exceptions" on the right..... and add each address of the sites and pages I wanted to allow. That worked like a charm!! Maybe pull up the itunes STORE address, copy and paste it in "always allow" (you can choose "block" also.....) This is in Firefox PREFERENCES, not just the parental control section.....
Let us know if that helped! Apple was NO help. (I am an Apple fan, but I am not paying 49.99 to get a question answered by someone who didn't sound like he knew anything, anyway...) I think when you pay for a computer you deserve to have ALL the features work... Is that too much to ask?

Add Row instance but with adjusted cell references

Is there a by to use the AddInstance and have the cells in the "new" row have adjusted cell references , such as Cell1-1, Cell1-2 or will they have the same name always?
I want the info from the cells to link elsewhere with Global Binding.

You cannot change the names of form objects during runtime.
When you repeat an existing row, all child elements (cells) will have the same name as in the other instances of the row.
Table1.Row[0].Cell1, Table1.Row[0].Cell2, Table1.Row[0].Cell3 etc.
Table1.Row[1].Cell1, Table1.Row[1].Cell2, Table1.Row[1].Cell3 etc.
Table1.Row[2].Cell1, Table1.Row[2].Cell2, Table1.Row[2].Cell3 etc.
Table1.Row[3].Cell1, Table1.Row[3].Cell2, Table1.Row[3].Cell3 etc.
If you make those cells binding global all cells with the same name will be global too and have the same value.

How to create CSV data with a cell including two rows?

Hi guys,
i am creating CSV using "comma" as seperator for columns, "return" as seperator for rows.
But how can I create a cell which includes two rows?
I want to do following:
cell1    cell2    cell3
XXXXX    YYYYY    ZZZZZ
in cell2 YYYYY, there are two sub rows:
YLine1.1     YLine1.2       YLine1.3
YLine2.1     YLine2.2       YLine2.3
Which kind of seperator can I use for these sub rows?
so to say(XML mode):

I tried with Excel. A Cell with 2 rows saved as CSV shows that the cells contents are enclosed in hyphens "b row 2 b" and the two rows ins one cell are separated with HEX 0A. This is a simple Line feed. The sequence to build this would be in ABAP

CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>NEWLINE
<row2>
into cell.
I did not take the time to try on system, but I tried to open with excel: It works with Windows.

Report Row With Detail (IFRAME)

I am trying to implement the Report Row with Detail but not successful.
I have gone thru the various threads in the forum.. but i am unable to

Ok then you are almost there so when you submit the form to update your data on a sucessful save you are going to create a plsql region that just uses htp.p() to write out the javascript to update the report in the main page.
a simple example would be something like this.
Lets say I'm getting back values to update the two first table cells on my parent report.

How do I make a single row with 6-8 images in css?

I would like to make a header row with 6-8 icons of different dimensions and use them as links. I am having trouble getting them to align horizontally in a container. How do I do this?

You can do it by making the area around the icons the same size. i.e., all images become the same dimension it's just the icons within the image that are different sizes.
If you don't want to do that then probably a good reason to use a table with 6/8 cells otherwise you'll have to set individual padding/margin on each icon to get them to align correctly, doable but a bit long-winded.

Deleting a row from parent table

Dear Guru's
I am having two table with parent - child relationship. My problem is when I am deleting a row from parent table the curresponding child row from child table also should be deleted.
My Primary table 'Employee, EMPID Primary key
Child table 'Privilage' inthis EMPID referencing the EMPID of Employee table
My need is when I am deleting a row from parent table the curresponding child row from child table also should be deleted
I issued the SQL query like,
delete from employee where empid='12345' cascade constraints;
Then it showing me error like,
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended
Please resolve my issue , Its Top urgent

Choosing How Foreign Keys Enforce Referential Integrity
Oracle Database allows different types of referential integrity actions to be enforced, as specified with the definition of a FOREIGN KEY constraint:
