Hierarchy Category for Installed Base creation

Hi All,
We are implementing service management using CRM 5.0 and R/3. We have created some custom material types in R/3 and downloaded to CRM. In CRM configuration "Assignment per Product Type for application Product" the HierarchyID R3PRODSTY is assigned to Product Type "Material". Now, I want to assign the Object family 0401 to a category to be able to create Installed Base records. I cannot modify the Hierarchy R3PRODSTY since it came from R/3. So I created a new hierarchy "IBase" and assigned the Object family and I assigned this hierarchy to Product Type "Material". With this I am able to create a Ibase but not a product because I changed the assignment. Is there straight forward way to have object family in the Hierarchy “R3PRODSTYP" or to be able to create products and Installed Bases simultaneously? Any Input will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Uday.

Hi Ankit ,
There is some SAP F1 Help. FROM SPRO
That may answer your question.
Activate Partner and Address Inheritance
Use
In this activity, you can make the following settings for each installed base category:
Activate partner and adress inheritance for a specified number of installed base hierarchy levels
The inheritance of partners and addresses is a logical rather than a physical inheritance.
Activate calculation of geographical coordinates from address information when address data is created or changed
Enable changes to an installed base for a validity date that is earlier than the system date.
Partner assignment or address assignment is used during the search for components to take partner inheritance and address inheritance into account.
For example, this means that in the interaction center or service processes, all components can be found using the business partner.
Default Settings
No standard settings are provided.
The settings are optional. If you do not enter any data, the function is not used.
Activities
To activate partner and adress inheritance, select the PInherit. or AdrInherit. checkbox, respectively, and specify the number of levels in the installed base hierachy that should inherit partners or addresses.
Note: If want partners or addresses to be inherited by all lower-level components in the hierarchy, enter 0 (zero).

  • User Status for Installed Base

    Hi All,
Pls let me know where to maintain user status for installed base. I believe status profile could be assigned to transaction level only but still SAP help says it is possible to maintain in installed base.
Also let me know is it possible to maintain user status for induvidual objects.
    Regards
    Ram.

    Hi Ram,
In Spro, under the option "Define Installed Base Category and Installation Rules" you have an option to assign status profile to ibase category.
In ibase the user status can only be maintained at header level according to standard. Further information available in SPRO documentation.

  • Business partner(Consumer) install base creation

    hi guys,
Can anybody have an idea how to create an install base data for the business partner(consumer).
Is there any function module which will create the install base data in crm.
    visu

    Hi Viswa,
Use the following function modules to create the IBASE.
    1. BAPI_ECRMISUTO_INIT : Initialize IBASE
    2. BAPI_ECRMISUTO_CREATEMULTIPLE : Create IBASE
    3. BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT : Commit the transaction
Note that after creating IBASE if you want to assign the Partner to the IBASE then use the CRM_IBASE_COMP_CHANGE function module to achieve the same.

  • Status profile for  Install base component

    Hi,
As part of project requirement,we have to maintain status profile at Install base component level.Wwe are maintaining one install base for single customer and all his multiple locations comes under this install base. So,as per client requirement we have to mainatin status at Install base object level.
As per standard functionality,we can maintain status profile at Install base header in status management>status profile>object type
But,I could not find how to maintain status profile at Install base component of type object  level.I think we have to do enhancement for it.
Request expert opinion on this.If its configuration, then how to do this.If its BADI,then what are  details of BADI.If its enhancement, then details of it.
    Thanks in advance
    regards
    Naresh

    Hi,
You need to add the below Object Types in your user status profile.
Go into your user status profile and click on the Object Types as highlighted below and then enable the list of object types. Then you will be able to see the status profile in the IBase header.
Enable these object types for IBase.
    Allowed Object Types
    General Object
    Ibase Header
    Product Master Data

  • Installed bases and service contracts

    Hi,
    Is it possible that:
    1. There are multiple installed bases from the same customer being covered in a SINGLE service contract document (i,e, referencing mulitple I-base objects) for the same type of service.
Example : 100 installations for the same customer being covered for the 3 free services per year through a SINGLE contract document
    2. Is there a functionality where by all the installed bases for a given customer can be seen location wise under a single tree structure ?
    Thanks,
    Dhaval.

    Hi Dhaval,
It is possible to do this.
    1. You could add all the objects under the object list assignment block in the contract item. So, here you specify that the service item is available as part of the contract for a set of objects.
    2. In this case, you could create the customer's installed base as the root and add all the installed bases under that customer in a hierarchy, while maintaining the Ibase master data. Else, you could search for Installed Base using the search criteria "Header Using Partner Data". But, this does not show a single tree structure.
    Hope this helps.

    Shwetha

  • Individual object settype in installed base

    Hi,
We have created many set types for individual objects. So,If I go to Individual object application I get a new tab general where all these fields displayed.
But we need those details in the installed base application itself, while clicking the corresponding individual object.
Is there any way to get it done without writing Model access class for installed base application.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Abdul Raheem .S

    Hi Abdul,
This is a new feature for CRM 5.0. To implement this in CRM 4.0 is very difficult because several components are affected. New functionality have to be implemented for the ibase access class, product (iobject) access class and for the settype generation (TA COMM_HIERARCHIE etc.).
At first the settype generation has to be modified, because if you create or change any settypes in TA COMM_HIERARCHY, several entries in the different tables of the TA CRMC_BLUEPRINT have to be generated. In CRM4.0 these entries will be generated only for the product or iobject application (both use the same access class).
Then you have to modify the product(iobject) access class: You need a method to set the product guid external and you need a method to control the display mode (if the ibase is locked, no changes at the settypes are allowed, because it is possible that someone edit them in the SAPGUI (IB52)).
At last you have to modify the access class for the ibase application to handle the product specific data. In this class you have to map the ibase component object key to the product(iobject) guid and you have to call the CHECK_ACTIVE_TABSTRIP method of the product access class before the controller with the settypes tabstrip is displayed the first time (the product tabstrip contains all entries for all settypes and with the first call the access class filters these entries ->product guid->category->settypes).
Sorry, but a simple implementation is not possible and its not recommended to modify the above mentioned transaction or access classes. In CRM 5.0 this is a standard feature in the ibase application of the pc-ui.
    Best regards,
    Oliver

  • Dump in transaction IB51 - create installed base

    Hi,
We have installed CRM 2007 at our site. The transaction for creating installed base IB51 on selecting the category of installed base and pressing enter throws an ABAP dump.
The category being used is a standard SAP delivered category; yet there is a dump.
Kindly suggest the notes / corrections / SPs applicable if any; since the system is a new system and the error is not config related.
    Regards,
    Dhaval.

    Hi Dhaval,
Sorry, but SAPGui is no longer a supported UI for SAP CRM 2007 for any end-user facing applications. Consequently, the transactions in SAPGui are no longer supported. So you won't find corrections (notes, SPs) that will correct his problem.
SAP CRM 2007 comes with a complete new Web UI: The CRM WebClient UI. It allows a role based web access to all CRM applications. SAP CRM WebClient UI can be used integrated into the SAP Enterprise Portal but also "stand-alone" with a "local" application shell ("L-shape") which is delivered as part of SAP CRM ABAP server itself.
Please refer to many other threads in this forum, the SAP help portal and the CRM BPX communitiy pages for more information about the WebClient UI.
    Best regards

  • PWB : Installment Plan Creation Letter

    Hello Experts,
I am working on a PWB for Installment Plan Creation form. After completing the development I noticed the correspondence type as 0005 and events aassigned to it as 708 (Print - ISU_PRINT_INSTPLAN_0708) and 709 (Creation - FKK_SAMPLE_0709).
But when I create installment plan for a customer using FPR1 I fail to encounter this event while debugging. Hence I am not able to trigger this form. Also after completion of FPR1,  FKK_INSTPLN_HEAD gets populated but DFKKCOH is not yet populated and FPCOPARA fails to save the entered details before scheduling as they fail to retrieve any records from DFKKCOH (Correspondence table).
Please advice if I am doing something wrong or I have possibly missed any configurations.
    Kind Regards.
    Vinay Kabde.

    Hi Vinay,
I think the events 708 and 709 have not been assigned to the correspondence typpe 0005 in the configuration.
You need to assign the events against the correspondence type in the following SPRO path-
Financial Accounting->Contract Accounts receivable and payable->Basic Functions->Correspondence->Define Correspondence Type.
Choose Correspondence type as 0005 and click on the control button.
Under the events tab, you need to maintain the following-
Event concept-Event Concept from Contract Accounts receivable and payable
    Print Time-708
    Creation Event-709.
If you are using a customised application form for the instalment plans, you also need to assign the customised application form under the following SPRO path against the correspondence type 0005-
Financial Accounting->Contract Accounts receivable and payable->Basic Functions->Correspondence->Define Application form for correspondence
    Hope it helps....
    Thanks,
    Amlan

  • Installed Base - Authorization Management

    Dear Experts
We're looking for any way to limit authorizations for Installed Base and iObject maintenance. So far we were able to identify COM_PRD as the only relevant authorization object (for iObjects) - I strongly assume there are more sophisticated capabilities than this one? I see authorization groups are available, we're looking for some more flexibility however.
    E.g.
    - differentiate between product and object maintenance
    - limit visibility based on e.g. country
    - limit maintainability of the installed base itself
    Best
    Christian

    Hi Joost, All,
during our investigation we found that the object you are referring to is not checked any more (SU24 does not return any hits neither in transactions nor in web services). A trace comfirmed this assumption so far.
We are currently assuming that this object is not used anymore in CRM 2007 and later versions.
    Any comments from anyone here?
    Thanks
    Alex
