Hierarchy display issue

Hi folks!,
we are displaying Funds Centers using a hierarchy. The problem is that if we select Key and Text for display option of Funds Center we get 3 columns on the web (Key, Text, Key). And if we select Text and Key we get only key, so I guess it's a bug. We've seen that the default template has more options about display so we can work around this issue. It's a bit difficult to explain, hope you get the point.
We are working on BI 7.0 Query designer 7.10 SP  8 Revision 580.
Thanks!!

Hi
May be the master data has only key but no text mainatained. So coudl you please check if both Text and Key is maintained.
If only Key is mainatained, when the display is Text & Key only the Key will be displayed.
Regards, Hyma

  • WebI issue with hierarchy display and aggregation

Trying to wrangle what looks like a defect in WebI's handling of hierarchy display and aggregation. We just completed an update cycle and are running BOBJ 4.1 SP4.
The hierarchy is a standard FM Commitment Item hierarchy in which both the nodes and leaves are Commitment Items (i.e. it uses InfoObject nodes, not text nodes). An example of one of these nodes looks like this in BW:
    Cmmt_Item A - Node
        Cmmt_Item B - Leaf
        Cmmt_Item C - Leaf
Let's pretend Commitment Item A has $50 posted to it, B has $20 and C has $30. Analysis for OLAP handles this by adding a virtual leaf line to distinguish postings that are on the parent node like so:
    Cmmt_Item A - Node       $100
        Cmmt_Item A - Leaf    $50
        Cmmt_Item B - Leaf    $20
        Cmmt_Item C - Leaf    $30
So you see both the total for the node ($100) and a line for each Commitment Items with KFs posted to them. Our users like this. They can easily see the aggregation and the breakdown.
WebI, on the other hand, will display it like this:
    Cmmt_Item A - Node       $150
        Cmmt_Item B - Leaf    $20
        Cmmt_Item C - Leaf    $30
It doesn't create a separate line for the value of the parent node, but it does add it's value into the aggregate. Twice. Modifying the table with the 'avoid duplicate row aggregation' checkbox yields output like this:
    Cmmt_Item A - Node       $100
    Cmmt_Item A - Node        $50
        Cmmt_Item B - Leaf    $20
        Cmmt_Item C - Leaf    $30
We're about halfway there. While the top row now shows the correct aggregation and it creates a new line to show the distinct amount on the parent node, that new line appears on the same level as the parent. It's no longer clear that there's an aggregate and a breakdown. And attempting to expand or contract a node will now crash the report with one of those 'Error 16' messages.
Has anyone encountered this issue with hierarchies in WebI? This report was built from scratch in 4.1, so I'm not sure if this affects older versions or not. Or if it would affect any hierarchy that uses InfoObject nodes instead of text nodes.

Without a fix, the simplest workaround I can think of would be to restructure the hierarchy. It can't use postable nodes, so Cmmt_Item A  - Node from my example would need to be converted into a text node and the postable characteristic added as a child on the same level as the B and C leaves.
This looks like it would affect anyone using hierarchies with postable nodes in a WebI report.
Another oddity in WebI's behavior here - even though the postable nodes show incorrect sums the sum at the root node is correct. So extending my examples from the original post:
    Root Node                    $100
        Cmmt_Item A - Node       $150
            Cmmt_Item B - Leaf    $20
            Cmmt_Item C - Leaf    $30

  • [Solved] Site display issues in Firefox 11.0-2/KDE 4.8.1

I have been having issues with the form fields of the AUR page. Specifically, with any version of Firefox after v9; the fields are incredibly small. (See http://imgur.com/KEdYk for what it looks like). I have removed gtk-kde4, and even created a vanilla user with a brand-new home directory, and this other user profile experiences the same problem. edit: In a fresh install of GNOME 3, the AUR page displays correctly. Also displays correctly if I revert to FF v9
This problem doesn't occur in Chromium, so I thought it was a FF issue, however, I've not heard of anybody else with this same problem... So I'm a little stumped. I filed a bug report a while back, (https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/28613 ), but it has been closed. Any help in diagnosing and/or fixing this issue would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks!

That is sounding quite strange.  I've had display issues similar to yours with login fields and search fields that are usually at the top of a we page appearing distorted and on top of each other.  Another prevalent problem that I noticed on YouTube was that text I enter into any field doesn't show up, but it is entered and I can search.  I'm running xfce so I don't know what to say.  Haven't had the problem in gnome, though I really don't like gnome 3 for its lack of what of what I considered organizational hierarchy.  (though I am against hierarchies of other sorts),  Ive also found that clearing the Firefox cache can solve some of these problems.

  • BEx Hierarchy Display

In a report we are using orgunit hierarchy and we have another field in the report Manager name (manager of the orgunit).  Currently at the top level of the hierarchy all managers are displayed for every node under it. Example
    Level 1
    Org 1----Manager 3
    Manager 2
    Manager 1
    Level 2
    Org 2-----Manager 2
    Manager 1
    Level 3
    Org 3----Manager 1
Is there a way to only display Manager 3 for Org 1 and Manager 2 for Org 2? We thought about compounding orgunit with manager but we could run into an issue with time dependency.  Any other suggestions without removing the hierarchy display?

Not sure if this fits your situation or not, but look in orgunit and see if there is a manager in there already (if not you can customize it and add it in).  Then you can display the orgunit on your report and then also display the orgunit's manager attribute.
You are displaying the manager and orgunit from transaction data.  This manager could be the employee's manager, cost center manager, orgunit manager, etc...

  • Hierarchy display not enabling drill down

    Hi
We have a custom hierarchy on the cost center object which has 5 levels. The 5th level is the cost center. In some nodes the values are repeating for the first 4 level.
    e.g.
    level 1 : ABC
    level 2 : ABC
    level 3 : ABC
    level 4 : ABC
In such a case the drill across functionality is working fine, but the drill down is not enabled with the hyper link for us to drill down the hierarchy
The hierarchy is properly displayed in the BW side.
what is disabling the hierarchy display
    regards

Hi this is a known issue. pls log a CSS message for this and include the link to this discussion in the message.
you will be notified when the fix is available.

  • Variable hierarchy display not changed (BEx analyzer)

    Hi
We have a BEx query, in which a drilldown characteristic is displayed as an hierarchy
    Hierarchy display is active
    Selected hierarchy:
    Name - constant
    Version - customer exit variable
Customer exit calculates version from manual input variable.
We need to view the report in BEx Analyzer.
When the query is opened, we select manual input variables and the hierarcy's version is set correctly.
The issue is that when we change manual input variables at runtime, the data is refreshed,
but hierarchy display is not changed. The selected hierarchy's version remains unchanged.
In order to change hierarchy display, we need to open characteristic properties and change the selected hierarchy manually
or we need to reopen the query and provide another manual input variables.
Our system version is 7.01 patch level 9
Is there any way to fix this problem
    Or some workaroud?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

    Michael, thank you for reply.
But I don't see how these notes may help me with my problem.
    1753959 - I don't get a short dump
1745472, 1751321 - system displays all queried nodes, the problem is that if I input another variable, hierarchy version variable is calculated via user-exit properly (I see it in ABAP debugger), but displayed hierarchy has version, which was set when I opened query initially.
1717433 - nodes are returned with non-empty result. I can see that data is refreshed, hierarchy version is requested correctly, but is displayed incorrectly. We can see, for example, new hierarchy leaves, but in "n/a" node.
I tried to run the same report on system with version 7.01, patch level 12 and get the same behaviour.
My problem is similar to that described in notes 993151, 957219, but our system patch level is already higher.

  • Hierarchy display in BEX is confusing

I am having an issue with the customer group hierarchy display in BEX:
In RSA1 hierarchy display like this
    Customer group 1
    --Customer A
    --Customer B
    --Customer C
In BEX (restricting characteristic or variable selection for 0customer/0sold_to) it displays:
    Customer group 1
    --Customer group 1
    --Customer A
    --Customer B
    --Customer C
It confuses the users as to which is the correct Customer group 1 node to select for the queries. I could not find any setting that may control this behaviour.
This is a time dependent hierarchy. We are in 3.1c
    Any help is much appreciated.

I have an iphone 4s that is having display issues. If I turn the phone on, it vibrates to acknowledge it successfully turned on but the screen stays solid black. I can plug the phone into my computer and itunes will recognize the phone as well. However, itunes can not do anything with the phone because the phone is locked and I can not unlock the phone because the screen is black.
    >CURVEBALL!!!<
The screen does work though! Through trial and error along side a little troubleshooting, I was able to figure out that the screen will cut on after the phone dies completely. The phone has to die completely with no battery power left. Then if I plug the phone into a charge and wait a while for it to charge, the phone will turn on like nothing was ever even wrong with it. I charge the phone up to like 30% and turn it off then bam the phone turns on but the screen is solid black again.
I am currently in the process of waiting for the phone to die and when I turn the phone back on I am going to completely remove the auto-lock and lock code off of the phone for the time being.
    Any other suggestions? Please help!

Sounds like the device was dropped at some point and damaged as a result.
Take it to Apple for evaluation and a replacement.

  • Display issue on brand new 2014 X1 Carbon Touch

So I was about to start raving about my X1C that I just received. Loving the display, the keyboard, build quality, etc. I had no gripes and was just browsing away when suddenly the screen did the full glitch. I recognize this as what happens when something's messed with the motherboard/display adapter. So I gave it a reset. All was normal and then it happened again. I was able to replicate it 3-4 times and it keeps happening. I never dropped it or anything. It was always just stationary.
I can't believe this. I had problems with the first gen non-touch and touch. I was hoping by now they have improved.

  • Display Issues with mini (Mid 2010) and LG L246WP

I recently purchased a new mini (Mid 2010 base model) and planned to use it with my 24" LG L246WP monitor, which is about 3 years old. The monitor has VGA, component, and HDMI inputs.
I used an HDMI-to-HDMI cable to connect the mini directly to the monitor, and the output is completely messed up. The mini recognized the monitor (titling the System Preferences > Display dialog with 'L246WP') and set it to the monitor's native resolution of 1920x1200, but on the monitor the image is cropped to what looks like a 4:3 aspect ratio and with part of the image shifted up and left so I cannot view the top menu bar or the left hand side of the desktop. The monitor's on-screen display shows 1080p in this mode.
The Display dialog also gives me an option for 1080p. I can select this and use the Underscan slider to resize the desktop output to fit on the screen, but it is still shifted left and must be resized smaller than the available display space (plus the total image is only 1080 pixels, not using the monitor's full native screen). In this mode, 1080p also shows on the monitor's on-screen display.
I tried 1024x768 to see if I could get a properly-positioned image, but the desktop was shifted just like in the 1920x1200 case and the monitor's on-screen display status still reported 1080p.
The monitor has a menu setting under an HDMI heading with "Video" and "PC" options, but changing this selection does not make a difference.
Since the monitor came out before HDMI was as widespread as it is today, it came with a DVI-to-HDMI cable, so I also tried using that cable with the HDMI-to-DVI adapter that came with the mini, but this did not make a difference either.
To prove it wasn't the HDMI cable, I connected the mini to my Samsung 6300 series 40" LED HDTV and with some tweaking of the Underscan slider the displayed image filled the screen perfectly.
I've searched the Internet and various forum threads (i.e. http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1167222&page=63) seem to indicate this monitor can send a corrupted EDID that causes issues, especially with nVidia graphics drivers. On Windows you can use registry or driver hacks to override the EDID with the correct values, but on OS X this doesn't seem possible (I was hoping for a Terminal one-liner but it seems this doesn't exist). I have seen some mentions of the shareware SwitchResX (http://www.madrau.com), which looks like it gives you the option to override resolution settings, but I haven't tried this yet.
It also appears to me that the monitor is always interpreting the signal (or the mini is always sending the signal) as 1080p, even if I've set 1920x1200 in the Display dialog. I don't know if this is a defect in the monitor where it always assumes the HDMI input is a 1080p source (previous I used it with an Xbox 360 with no issues but that was 1080p HDMI), or if is a bug in the graphics drivers (or at least a lack of flexibility / miscommunication to the user trying to handle a corrupt EDID).
I asked my local Genius Bar for advice today (without bringing any hardware in) but was not told anything I didn't already know.
I'm trying to determine the best way to work through this issue. *My questions are:*
Would it make any difference if I used a Mini DisplayPort-to-DVI adapter (and then my DVI-to-HDMI cable to the monitor's HDMI input)?
What about a Mini DisplayPort-to-VGA adapter? In the past I used a 12" Powerbook (via a mini-DVI-to-VGA adapter) with this monitor and had no display issues like this, but I'd prefer to stick with a digital connection on my brand new mini.
Is SwitchResX the only practical way in OS X to override a corrupt EDID and force the mini to output a certain resolution?
Besides the various adapters and SwitchResX, is there anything else I should try before buying a new monitor?

    Hello EPWilson4984.
I have been experiencing the same issues you described. Connecting my brand new Mac Mini to my Westinghouse 24”monitor (L2410NM,  1920x1200 pixel resolution) produces a very fuzzy and washed out image quality. The Mac recognizes the monitor and applies the right resolution (1920x1200), but it looks just awful. The EDID info is definitely not right.
Now, I tried your suggestion (DVI-to-HDMI), and similar suggestions from other threads, but nothing works. Nothing seems to work at all.
The main input for the monitor is HDMI, so whatever cable I use, in the end always has to connect to the monitor via HDMI. I tried all these combinations with zero success:
Mac mini -> HDMI cable -> monitor (result: fuzzy and blurry image)
Mac mini -> displayport –HDMI adapter-> HDMI cable -> monitor (result: fuzzy and blurry image)
Mac mini  -> displayport –DVI adapter-> DVI-to-HDMI cable -> monitor (result: it gives me a blank screen, no image at all)
I’m running out of options. Don’t know what to do. The 24” monitor produces beautiful, crisp images when hooked to my Windows 7 PC. It looks horrible when connected to my brand new Mac Mini.
Any alternatives you may have come across? Please let me know, thank you.

  • Error in BO Webi using Authorization analysis in Bex with hierarchy display

    Hi Experts ,
When we run the WEBI report created on bex query which has 0comp_code restricted with characteristic variable  of processing type Authorization and Not ready for input.
The hierarchy display is active in Bex (as we want to see L01, L02.... in webi)
The authorization analysis is working perfectly when I test in Bex analyser (at any drill down level).
But in BO webi, I get below error
The database error text is: The supplied XML is not valid. [char name & Level].
I dont get this error when I deactivate hierarchy display in Bex.
Also I dont get this error for user ids having 0BI_ALL
Please help me to resolve this.
    Thanks
    Savio

    Hi Atul,
You can achieve this by dragging these two fields in the filter bar section of the webi. then apply variables on these fields.
    hope it helps

  • Repeated iMac Problems, Display Issues now Kernel Panics

I’m lost on what’s wrong with my 2008 iMac and I think I just have to bring it back into Apple for a third time to have it repaired. But something is obviously not working that is causing these issues.
About a month ago, my computer began showing heavy pixilation, flickering images and the on-screen graphics. The computer appeared to keep working in the background from what I could tell so I came to conclusion that it must be the graphics card that’s failing and I’ll need to have it looked at.
My 2008 iMac was custom-built by Apple with the Nvidia GeForce 8800GS that was offered as an upgrade option. There have been several posts on the display and graphics discussion board about that graphics card along with other postings other places about the problems the Nvidia GeForce 8-series had.
The display problems I mention above would not happen immediately, it would happen as the computer warmed up and was used for 3-5 minutes.
Anyway I brought my computer into Apple explained to them what I believed was the problem and the Apple Store technician agreed with me. Because I did not purchase AppleCare, it cost me $400 and a week without my iMac to have that card replaced.
I got the computer back two weeks ago and everything seemed fine. It was working as it always had. I even was running SMC Fan Control in order to keep the computer as cool as I could (the Nvidia problem was related to overheating).
But this morning, this is what I woke up to:
    http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/7436/photoijr.jpg
The computer now has a semi-permanent pixilation when it starts up (as suppose to the pixilation 3-5 minutes into use). But more worrisome now is I cannot start up the computer without it going into a kernel panic. I tried resetting the PRAM, I tried starting in safe mode. The only thing I haven’t tried yet is booting from an external HD which I will try this evening (to hopefully isolate it if it’s hardware or a software problem).
The Apple Hardware Test has been unhelpful. When it originally failed three weeks ago, the test showed nothing and this morning when I ran it (permanent pixilation and all), it showed nothing. I feel like if it was a software issue the pixilation would have disappeared during the hardware test because that’s not an OS-X based program.
Here are my specs on this computer:
2008 iMac 24" 2.8ghz Intel Core Duo, 4 gigs of RAM (Crucial Purchased, I have original sticks somewhere), 1 TB HD, Nvidia GeForce 8800GS.

Hi, just to update you, I came home today and did a few things that didn't seem to solve my Mac's problems:
    - I booted up from my firewire "safe" drive that I keep a copy os x on to see if I had a corrupted hard drive or something. It booted into the kernel panic I described above.
    - I also swapped out the crucial RAM for Apple's factory RAM. It also booted into the Kernel Panic.
In both incidents, the display issues didn't go away. Now instead of pixelization i have vertical bars running in a pattern across my screen.
I'm currently trying to boot onto the OS X CD at this point to see if I could do a reinstall. It's taking quite awhile to boot into that.
With that in mind, I think we're still having graphics card issues or more seriously some logic board problem.

  • Bizarre & Random Dashboards Display Issues/Errors

    Hello,
I am on BI 4.1 SP04 and these dashboards were developed using an equivalent level on the client tool. (4.1 SP04)
Sometimes we get very strange and often random display issues with our dashboards. I have attached screen shots for examples. Sometime we are missing data points from rendering on the charts, other times a line chart will extend into a bar chart.  Has anyone experienced this or have any idea what could cause this? It is very frustrating...
    Thanks for looking,
    Gary
Missing data points on yellow line, yet line rendering with proper data (other wise would have 0's in places, etc)
Green line missing dot on last end point
In this example there are no dots on the yellow line or green line
In this example the blue line has turned into massive columns extending across the charts

This patch should resolve the issue in the last screenshot. I still face the other issues after upgrading to SP3 Patch 4. The dots in line chart take some time to appear. Also, if we use dynamic visibility, the components taking considerable time to appear sometimes. I hope this will also be fixed in later patches. Please share your experience too after applying the patch.

  • Multi User Calendar Display Issue

When we moved to GW2012 one of our departments that uses a Multi User calendar (5 users in total) noticed some strange display issues.
When User1 is looking at her Multi User Calendar, the client is displaying her appointments in User2's column as well. But if you look at User2's Multi User calendar, you don't see any of User1's appointments in User2's column, so it appears to be a display issue with User1. This same issue is happening with one other user.
All users are on Client 12.0.2, Build 108211 . Interestingly if we look at the calendar on a machine running the GW8 client this display issue does not occur. I have also gone as far as rebuilding the calendar from scratch but this hasn't changed anything.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!
    Steve

  • MacBook Pro Startup and Display Issues

I've been having some random problems with my MacBook Pro (2.16 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 100 GB 7200 rpm hard drive, ATI Radeon X1600 graphics). Specifically:
    1. Lines across the screen and purple boxes sometimes appear.
    2. The graphic effects (e.g. zooming a window) sometimes get "frozen" on the screen. In other words a remnant from the animation will stay until the window is refreshed.
    3. The Mac sometimes freezes during the startup process. Sometimes the login screen will be unresponsive and other times the Mac will almost bootup but fail when loading startup items.
    4. Less frequently the Mac will freeze randomly. I previously had iStat Menus installed and each time the MacBook Pro froze up it indicated both read and write disk activities.
Yesterday I decided to wipe the machine clean and start from scratch in case there were a software issue or corruption on the hard drive that was causing my woes. I completely erased my hard drive and even zeroed the entire disk to make sure everything was completely wiped out. I also disconnected all peripherals to simplify things as much as possible.
The first time I tried the reinstall everything completed successfully but the "Welcome" movie froze part way through. I then had problems running the install again. I was able to boot off the Leopard DVD, but the machine froze a couple of clicks into the install procedure. After numerous tries I was able to erase the hard drive once again and install Leopard. This completed successfully and I installed all updates.
The problems started to show up again almost immediately, however. I installed iLife and iWork and all the updates and had the computer freeze up on me again during a reboot. I also noticed that the display issues started to show up again even before installing any third-party software.
I've tried running disk tests with Drive Genius 2.1, but no errors have been reported. I've also used the freeware Rember program to run memory tests but have yet to see any errors. Sometimes my Mac powers up without any problems and once it's powered up it often stays running for days. The display issues appear quite frequently. I've using iStat Menus to keep an eye on the temperature sensors and everything appears to be normal - so it doesn't appear to be temperature related.
Fortunately the computer's still covered under the extended AppleCare warranty, but I would like to have some idea what's going on before I take it in just in case they're not able to reproduce the issues.
Any suggestions and insights would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance for reading my rather long-winded message.
    Cheers,
    Tim

I took my MacBook Pro in for repair and it turned out to be an issue with the logic board. I had the logic board replaced (fortunately it was covered under my extended AppleCare warranty) and these problems are a thing of the past.
