Hitting ENTER causes cursor to jump to other blocks

Hi,
In my custom 6i form, if the user accidentally hits ENTER on any field (null or not null), the cursor jumps to a particular block everytime. How can I stop this event to occur so the cursor stays at that field only?
Thanks.

I guess "Navigation" property of your form is set to block level. Change it to item level.

  • In Mail, typing an apostrophe causes cursor to jump or be mispositioned

On my new iMac (and the old one, both with current Yosemite), when typing text in Mail, whenever I type an apostrophe, the cursor changes position, sometimes jumping ahead, or other times jumping back a space after the next letter(s) are typed.  For instance, typing I'll results in the cursor ending up between the two L's.  Creates lots of typo's if I don't catch them.  Anyone else experiencing this?  Any suggestions?

  • Select document window title bar, cursor jumps to other screen

This has been going on for a few days now. I've restarted the Mac, etc
Mac dual G4 1.25 GHz with OSX 10.4.11
This started suddenly. I have had a dual monitor system for months now, and have never had this problem before last week.
If I have documents on my second monitor (to the left of the main screen), when I click on a non-top document, the cursor suddenly jumps (always) to the right hand monitor.
The cursor jumps horizontally to the left edge of the righthand monitor, at the same height position as the document's title bar.
Also, if I have a document on the main (righthand) monitor, which is pushed over to the right edge of the monitor, when I click the gray title bar, the cursor jumps about 200 pixels to the left.
If the documents are within about 1600 pixels of the left edge of the righthand monitor, then selecting them does NOT make the cursor jump.
    Pretty weird, huh?
Anyone have any ideas what's going on?
I've never seen this before in 15+ years of using Photoshop.

I see that when you hover the cursor over the title bar of a PS document the full path is displayed briefly in a tool tip.
Not in the most recent versions of Photoshop it's not.
I think the reasoning for not maintaining the path is that a Photoshop document isn't really a single file.  It's a document that may have been opened from a file, but there's no guarantee that when you save it's going to be written back to the file.
In fact, PS CS5 offers the ability to maintain separate default directories for File - Open and File - Save As operations.
So the short answer to your question is, I believe, no.

  • Why do I have to click the go button after typing a URL? Before FF6 I could just hit enter.

I just recently updated to Firefox 6. Before the update, I was able to type a address into the URL bar and hit return. Nice and easy. Now if I do this I get no response. To direct to a web page I have to move my cursor to click the go button. It's annoying and a waste of time. What happened here? Any way I can change things so I can just hit enter again?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
In Firefox 4+ you can use one of these to start in <u>[[Safe mode]]</u>:
    * Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)

  • Tabs will not open automatically (link appears but I have to manually hit "enter" or reload the tab).

When I recently updated Firefox, my tabs stopped working. When I right-click on a link and select "open new tab," the tab opens with the link in the address bar, but the page is blank. Only when I switch to the new tab, put my cursor on the address bar, highlight the entire address and hit "enter" does the page finally load. I've tried to look for answers in the forums and have played around with the tabbing options, but I cannot resolve the problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

  • Clearing items upon hitting "Enter Query"

I have a detail block with 5 fields in each record. There are five non-database items on the form to display the current record in this detail block. Upon moving the cursor to a different record in the block, the new record's fields are displayed in these non-database items.
What is required is that upon hitting "enter query" on this detail block, these non-database item fields become cleared also.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.
    Ammar

this approach is not recommended as I think that these built-ins cause problems on some platforms (the go_block built-in)Never heard of such problems. If thisis so, then no forms-application would run on that platform, for forms also uses GO_BLOCK for master-details-relationships.
The easiest way to achieve your functionality (without any coding) would be to do the following:
Delete your second datablock with the non-database-items.
Duplicate the items in the databaseblock you want to show in a detail-area.
Set No. of tems displayed to 1 on these items.
Move the items in the layout to the desired position.
Set the poperty "Synchronize with" for each item so that it matches the item it should get the value from.
    Thats all.

  • OSX update 10.10.2 causes mouse to jump around and text to be highlighted randomly in Dreamweaver CC 2014

OSX update 10.10.2 causes mouse to jump around and text to be highlighted randomly in Dreamweaver CC. When trying to click on a specific line of code in a js file the cursor ends up in a different place in the script and several lines of code highlighted. Clicking again jumps the mouse to a different position and even more lines of code highlighted and some characters rearranged, breaking the lines of code. Very frustrating.

    Preran,
I am having the same issue. I have a MBP connected to 2 x Dell 27" monitors over Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cables. Once I updated to OS X 10.10.2 this cursor highlight/jumping around issue only occurs on the connected monitors. If I move the program to the main laptop display the issue goes away. It does not require me to restart the program or the machine to make it work correctly. One way I am able to identify the issue is if I go to the line numbers in code like I wanted to select multiple lines - in the one that works correctly, the cursor turns into a white version where the tip of the cursor points to the right. When it is wrong, the cursor stays black and will only have the tip point to the left. Its just another way I identified if it was working cause I tried uninstalling DW and reinstalling - didn't work. Reset preferences as you discussed - no go. And I used other editors like IntelliJ and Adobe Edge Code - all of which work fine and don't display this issue.
I tried the preferences reset you suggest and it doesn't work. I have another machine with OS X 10.10.1 on it and this issue is not there on any monitor. Any help with this ASAP as it pretty much stops you from being able to do any editing especially with longer pages as it consistently wants to page up when you select anything and if you then click again in another area it tries to move the highlighted code to that new spot.
Update: I have a USB Microsoft Arch touch mouse connected (always worked just fine). When I go to place my cursor at some point in the code it causes the highlight flicker. If I switch over and use the built in trackpad, then I can place the cursor without the highlight issue. When trying to select multiple lines or sections of code, that still see's the highlight, page up and move of code issues regardless of input type.

  • When I type an address in the location bar and hit Enter nothing happens. I must click the arrow button at the end of the location bar. How do I fix it so that the Enter key works?

When I type a web address in the location bar and hit enter nothing happens. In order to go to the website I've typed in, I must click the arrow button at the end of the location bar. How do I make it so that hitting the enter key takes me to the web page.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== Since Firefox 4 Beta installed an update

The AVG addon seems to have caused the problem for me. I had it disabled and everything worked. Then I updated to AVG 2011 and the problem occurred. It seems to have reenabled itself after the update.
Just disabling it solved the problem.

  • My search bar (FF 22) has suddenly become inoperable; hitting enter doesn't do anything (am only getting to sites via bookmarks and links now)

I'm a long-time FF user. Am using version 22 now (which appears to have updated from 18 by itself though I had it set to ask me before updating - but 22 2 worked fine for me once I'd solved the problem of screen being so large it hid my upper menu and tabs). Now suddenly, just in the last week, entering a (valid) url in the search bar and hitting enter doesn't 'do' anything. No search capability at all because hitting enter doesn't cause FF to take any notice of me putting in a URL for a site I want to go to (I use the same sites over and over so not just some new site acting up).
Not my keyboard or mouse malfunctioning; they function as usual in other programs I use constantly - email, inventory database - and no updates on either program, in Word, Excel, NotePad, my photo program, whatever. Security Essentials updated about a week ago but I can't see inside it to see if it changed anything. Am an XP Pro user and keep it updated (till next year, anyway!). Keyboard is an Elite Real Force, mouse Evoluent (corded). Have used both for a couple of years so not new to me.
Only way I can use FF 22 in the last few days to get to 'any' site, including my own, is to either go from the sites pinned to my opening screen or from my bookmarks. I tried unpinning some of the sites on my opening screen and then typing in their URL and hitting enter but that didn't change anything - the search bar is still inoperable and hitting 'enter' doesn't do anything at all.
So why did my search bar quit working? Is there a fix?

<blockquote>I did the Help &gt; Troubleshooting Information &gt; "Show Folder" button bit you said to do but is there something I'm supposed to do re the 'switch back to FF' you speak of? Like click on 'Reset FireFox' to Default State first?</blockquote>
No, do not use the Reset feature. When you click "Show Folder" Windows opens a Windows Explorer window with your personal settings files listed. I want you to delete a file in that folder, but first, I want Firefox to be closed. When I said to switch back to Firefox and exit, I meant to make Firefox the active window, then use File>Exit or Firefox>Exit to close the application.

  • When I type in an address on the address line and hit enter, nothing happens. It used to work. Now i have to hit the icon in the address bar to get it to load. Is there a way to make it load when I hit enter?

I've tried typing in different addresses and none of them load if I just hit "enter" after I finish typing. I'm confused because that's what I've always done in the past. I don't know why this doesn't work anymore.

Yes I had this problem and just now discovered that it was because the add-on 'Omnibar'. I disabled it and now it works fine. Most likely one of your add-ons is causing the problem as TonyE suggested already and lead me to the discovery of my problem in a previous post.

  • Why can't I load a page by hitting enter after I type it into the location bar? I have to click on the green arrow to load new pages.

When I type a URL into the location bar, I have to click on the green arrow at the right end of the location bar for the new page to load. In previous versions of Firefox you just hit enter to load the new page.

This didn't help my problem. When I restart Firefox in Safe Mode, the problem goes away but none of the other troubleshooting tips help. I noticed today that when I start Firefox in normal mode, I get this error: "TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined." It's a Javascript error, and I also noticed that when I go to the Gmail page in normal mode the cursor isn't automatically placed in the username field like usual. When I start Firefox in safe mode it does this, however.

  • Browser does not go to location address whenI press ENTER. I have to click on an arrow on the far right of the location bar. How can I get back to just hitting ENTER?

Usually I just type in the address and hit enter. But lately it changed so that I have to move the mouse to an arrow on the right side of the address bar and then click.
I prefer the original method. How do i avoid having to click on the arrow?

Pressing enter not working can be caused by a malfunctioning add-on. For some people this has been caused by the AVG safe search add-on, disabling that add-on has cured the problem.
The procedure in the following link can help in identifying if an add-on is causing the problem - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
