How do I print standard 6 3/4" standard size envelopes from an hp 8600 officejet pro printer?

How do I print 6 3/4" standard size envelopes from an hp 8600 officejet pro printer. This printer has this size on the tray and has this size listed in the printer set up on the printer, but the drop down boxes from my computer to set up the printer do not have this standard size listed. I keep getting messages on my printer that it is not set for the right size. I have a list of supported envelopes and their numbers for this printer but which one of these other numbers is the same as the 6 3/4" standard size envelope. I have an operating system of windows 7 with an older version of publisher. Everything else prints ok from publisher & the printer, just not the standard size envelopes of 6 3/4".
Please help!
indy-girl

Hi indy-girl,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see you are trying to print 6 3/4" envelopes from your HP Officejet Pro 8600, but keep getting an error 'printer that it is not set for the right size'. After taking a look at the Supported envelopes sizes, the 6 3/4 is not supported. See below:
I was able to take a look at the 8600, the only thing I am seeing listed on the paper tray is Legal/Letter, and the 4x6". I am not seeing the 6 3/4 size.
I hope this helps!
Thanks,
HevnLgh

Is there any way to darken the black print on my machine? The copy feature offers this feature but I can't find anything for printing purposes.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

The only option to darken the text is to change the print quality to its highest setting. To do so, please follow the steps listed below.
In the software program you are trying to print from, click File, and then click Print . The Print dialog box will open.
Select your product from the Name drop-down menu, and then click Properties . The Properties dialog box will then open.
    Click the Paper/Quality tab.
Under Quality Settings you will be able to increase the print quality.

  • I am attempting to print a number of DL size envelopes using Word 2010 and Excel2010 on a HP Officej

I am attempting to print a number of DL size envelopes using Word 2010 and Excel 2010 on a HP Officejet 6500A Plus printer in Operating system Windows 7. Using the mail merge facility the printer reports a paper mismatch. Word does not appear to have envelope DL size in its list of paper sizes only something called envelope #10. The Print driver software when I run out of stationery asks me to load more stationery and hit the OK button.

    1. How do I add envelope DL size to Word 2010
    2. Where is the Officejet 6500A Plus OK button
    3. Has this problem been experienced by others

My HP 8600 Officejet Pro 8600 is stuck on a layout setting for printing of long-edge binding (duplex printing). It's conected to a mac running OSX 10.8.4 Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Hi,
From the application used to print click on File and the select Print. The Print window appears.
NOTE: The Print window might be minimized. Click the blue triangle next to the printer name to see all available settings.
In the expanded Print window you will find next to Copies the checkbox for Two-Sided. Check the box.
NOTE: If the checkbox does not appear within the specific application print dialog, skip this step.
Click the lowest selection box listed as the name of the program (e.g. TextEdit)
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.
Select Layout from the drop-down menu.
    6. Set the Two-Sided option as the required binding or select Off to disable it.
Click on Presets > Save Current Settings as Preset and perform the print job... the settings will remain default till another preset will be used.

  • How to print on envelopes C6/C5 with HP OfficeJet Pro 8600

With my printer HP Officejet Pro 8600 I want to print on envelopes C6/C5 (229 mm x 114mm or 9.0 inches x 4.5 inches).
The Officejet Pro 8600 support C5-envelopes and C6-envelopes but I could not find a comparable format C6/C5. Is it possible to make your own envelopes format and print on HP Officejet Pro 8600?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Grepolis,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you would like to be able to print on  C6/C5 envelopes.
I will be happy to help you.
You could install the Deskjet 9800 as a generic driver which you would have different features available to you.
    Making custom size prints.
Depending what operating system you are using. Here are the steps for Windows 7.
On the computer, go to start, devices and printers, select add printer.
Follow the steps, select HP and Deskjet 9800 from the list.
Set this one as the default printer.
Try creating a custom size envelope now with the generic driver.
Please let me know if you are not using Windows 7 and you need different steps.

  • Can you print from the ADF with Officejet Pro 8600 (not plus) & how to print checks in correct order

Client has Officejet Pro 8600 I(not plus) They want to print payroll checks out of QuickBooks but when they put the checks in tray 1, it pulls the check that is on the top, which happens to be the last check # in the stack.  Is there a way to print where the printer pulls from the bottom of the check stack as opposed to the top. I've looked and can't seem to find the answer. QuickBooks says we should check with HP and change something in the print drivers?
So I thought it would fix it if they printed the checks from the ADF where I thought I could control if it pulls from the front or back of the stack. When we tried to print from the ADF, it pulled from Tray 1 and we weren't given the option to print from the ADF.   (only Tray 1 & 2...which they don't have the 2nd tray anyway) So does this model, not being the PLUS model, not allow you to print from the ADF. (only scan, copy and fax from the adf?)
If we can't use the ADF for check printing, then how can we get the checks to print in the correct order.  Meaning, the 1st check # to print should be on the check that is on the bottom of that check stack in Tray 1.  Otherwise they have to count out the exact number of checks & place them in the tray.  Or reverse all of them which is not an efficient either! I hope this makes sense.

    Hi @kceacct ,
I see that you would like to know how to print out the checks in order. I will do my best to help you.
The ADF can be used for copying, scanning and faxing.
From the print driver you can only select the tray that you want to print from.
Changing Print Settings in Windows 8.
You would have to load the checks in order from top to bottom in the paper tray, since the printer just pulls the paper in from the top of the stack of paper.
    Have a nice day!
    Thank You.

  • How do you stop ink from leaking in HP Officejet Pro 8500 wireless

I have run through many cartridges of ink and have found that the blue ink is leaking.  How do I stop this from happening?  It is leaking in the tray where the ink cartridges are held.  I don't see a kink in the lines and the printheads look fine.
Also the printer states it is out of blue ink even though I've put in two new cartridges.
    Thank you.

@BrosseauFuels, If you have cleaned the print heads and cleaned and still have that issue, it may be a print head problem, or something in the printer is broken, and not noticed. You can contact HP Support (1800-474-6836).
@Nursenat, you can also contact HP Support, you may just have a bad print head.

  • Wrong color balance on prints from new HP 8500 Officejet Pro

Color prints are too red. We are printing a photo of an earring in which the original colors are all blue and silver-white, but in the print the blue parts have pink tones. How to fix?
    HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless All-in-One Printer - A909g, model number CB023A.
The machine is new. We have not yet gone through the very first print cartridges.
How can we adjust the print color balance?
    Thanks.

Mr. or Ms. Miles:  Thanks for your reply - I acknowledge you are responding in good faith and trying to be helfpul.  However, whether it's Dell or HP or Verizon, I just wonder why, whenever I start a telephone call, chat, email or forum thread with a technical issue, my simple precise question is always ignored by employees of the big company.  Your team of incapables in India could not answer my question which is why I posted in this forum.
I asked above what we can do to correct the color balance on prints with our brand-new HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless.  I even wrote that the machine is so new we have not yet gone through the initial ink cartridges.  Your response above was not to tell me how to adjust the color balance -- which is my precise request -- but to ask me a question:  to ask whether I have checked the ink levels.  All right, I'll answer: yes, we have checked the ink levels, and they are fine.  In any case, the machine would not ADD pink to a predominantly blue photo if one of our ink levels were low.
Please make it easy for me just this one time - how do I correct the color balance when I make color prints on our brand-new machine?  It is adding pink - how do I fix that?
Warning - when we bought the machine only a few weeks ago, I bought three years' full on-site replacement warranty.  If you cannot help me fix this problem, the eventual fix is going to be HP's complete replacement of this machine, at HP's expense.  I don't need that if we can get true color out of the machine.
Please focus on my question and answer my question:  How do I correct the color balance when I make color prints on our brand-new machine?  Thank you.

  • Printing #10 envelopes using Microsoft Works on Officejet Pro 8000?

I am having trouble printing #10 size envelopes using Microsoft Works 8 on my Officejet Pro 8000.  Somehow my settings got messed up causing wrong areas of the envelope to be printed and I need help to reset them.  Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this.

I can't tell you how much I HATE this printer.  I will never buy an HP product again.  BROTHERS printers are simply and easy to use.

  • Network Printing Problems with Windows 8.1 and HP 8600 Officejet Pro

I can not print or scan from my Dell 2720 after the system has gone to sleep.  My printer shows as connected to my network.  Most time I have to completely restart my PC to get it to work but even that doesn't correct the issue most time.  I have removed and reinstalled the printer at least a dozen times and updated the drivers several times.  Also another oddity - my router is a dual-band (2.4 & 5 GHz) and my printer only connects to the 2.4 GHz connection which I understand is normal but any device attempting to print must be connect to the 5GHz band or nothing will print.  So essentially I have two problems.  Any suggestions?

    Hi @mhmost,
I would be happy to help you print to your 8600. Running the Print and Scan Doctor might help. The HP Print and Scan Doctor is a free utility (tool) that helps to quickly resolve common printing, scanning and connectivity issues including but not limited to:
    Connectivity:
USB: Verifies that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product is working correctly.
Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working correctly.
Device Status Test: Checks for device errors such as out of paper, paper jams, carriage stalls, and paper feed issues, and then provides instructions for fixing the error.
Driver Check: Checks for missing or corrupt driver files.
Device Manager: Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
Device Online: Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
Print Queue: Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
Port Match: Checks the port settings for the HP product.
Device Conflicts: Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.
Ink Issues: Checks the cartridges and ink levels for issues that affect print quality.
Print Settings: Checks and adjusts the print quality settings.
Test Print: Prints a test page for print quality evaluation, and provides options for cleaning and aligning the printhead if necessary.
Scan Tests: Checks the scan mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.
Source:Try the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows
Click here to download and run the Print and Scan Doctor> >>>>> www.hp.com/go/tools
If that does not resolve the issue, post back and let me know if there are any symbols other than green check marks and what they are next to of course. The wrench is not always easy to spot as the wrench and the check mart are in the green circle.
If you see only green check marks (), the tool did not find any problems.
If you see green wrenches (), the utility identified an issue and corrected it automatically.
If you see yellow exclamation points (), the test failed and required user action, but the step was skipped.
If you see a red X (), follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the issue.
As for the frequency, you are correct, the printer will not work over the 5.0GHz frequency, only with the 2.GHz.I suggest disabling the 5.0 frequency, and running on only the 2.4.
Thanks, I look forward to hearing back from you.

  • Broken letter tray flap on Officejet Pro printer

Is there anywhere to buy a replacement part for the Officejet Pro 8600? I checked HP's replaceable parts list for this printer and don't see the part I need.  It's a plastic part that pulls out and stops the paper from flying out when the paper is coming out of the printer. It has a flap that you can flip up, to stop the paper and keep it in place once its printed, or you can flap it down. It snapped off and don't know where to get a replacement.

    It's called the output tray.
