How do we control who can approve items in a list?

We are building a referral bonus list that needs to go through 4 levels of approval before being paid out. I've created the workflow, but I can't figure out how to control who is allowed to approve it. For example, it would be bad if an employee
can enter the item, and then approve it as the Manager, Director and VP so that Finance gets notified and puts it on his check.
How can I set it so that only management-level personnel are able to approve/reject specific items within the list?

If you are using a custom list as referral bonus list, you can use the PowerShell to enable the option "Create items and edit items that were created by the user" (you
can check if you need to set "Read items that were created by the user" ), then all users could only edit his own created items, then you grant "Manage lists" permission
to Manager,Director and VP on this custom list and they will be able to view and edit all items.

If you want only Manager, Director and VP to be able to approve/reject the Approval Workflow task items, you need to grant them Contribute permissions or higher on Workflow Tasks list, and remove all others' Contribute permissions.

Sorry, you cannot control this other than to remove the printer from the network, turn it off or otherwise disable it.

I am trying to set up a user for grid control who can view only properties of one target. I have tried some options which were suggested but didnt help.when we login i should be able to view only one target to which i am giving view access. but whenever i create a administrator it can view all targets though i give permission to view only one target.does any one have any input on this???

I've just quickly tried myself and have no issues creating such a limited user. Do you have any roles granted on the user? Is the "PUBLIC" role modified in your company to have some permissions granted?
Can you give a quick overview of what information is displayed on the page when you click "View" for the selected user on the Setup -> Administrators page?

i'm not sure what you exactly mean, but there are some account details which privacy settings can not be changed, meaning they are fixed either visible to public (anyone), contact only, or private (only to you). If the privacy setting/visibility of a certain account information can be changed, there will be a dropdown selection menu opposite them.

How do I specify who can read my Filelink uploaded file? (Box)

I have uploaded a jpg file to Box following your instructions but was surprized that I was not given an opportunity to choose which users can retrieve the stored jpg. The instructions in Box prior to actually uploading anything refer to choosing a
"swap" recipient but no such option showed up in my registration and upload. Is that selection of who can read this jpg file no longer available in Box?

how are box or any other provider going to know who people are. They do not need an account with that provider to see the mail. That is the whole purpose. Anyone with the URL can open it. But only those with the URL, their is no browse process. (security by obscurity)
Now before you start on about security, be aware that your jpg if attached to an email would drag all over the internet while it was getting delivered in plain text, still no password required and certainly no encryption.

Here the first tab user--list of users with critical authorization select that and u can find the users list.

Full Control User Cannot View Items in a List

Hi All,
User wants to view items on 2 lists (List A/List B)
I went ahead and inherited permissions the lists from the top level site.
Lists A and B say Manage Exceptions because all the items in the list are unique items.
After all permissions were inherited I gave both user "full control". I hopped on to their account, and navigated the site and found out that when I click View All Site Content, I see both lists and the item count next to each list (indicating
that there are items in List A/List B. When I click either list however, there are no items being displayed.
Seems to me it has a lot to do with the unique items. How do I make all the unique items inherit parent permissions. When I try to do it, it makes me edit each item one-by-one.

Please firstly verify that the problematic user account has no sufficient permission on unique items. You could check item permission via Item’s “Share With” > Advanced > Check Permission:

Controlling who can airplay to Apple TV

I am trying to use my ipad 2 mirrored to an apple TV for teaching. Technically this is working, but it seems that anyone with a iOS device on the WiFi network can also airplay to the apple TV.
Is there anyway I can esure that only I can project to the screen?

yes, you can put a passcode on it. It is under the settings app -> AirPlay. Then only those with the passcode can use the display...

How to move to the next Selected Item in a list.

I was just wondering how I could make a button which would move the currently selected item to the next in the array loaded into a List component. I would think to do it through AS or an event, but I'm not sure what I would reference in accordance to that component. The help would be appreciated, thank you.

You can set the selectedIndex. When next button is clicked increment the selectedIndex.

How to acquire display value of selected item on select list? Or...

I have a select list generated from a SQL query that I need to get the display value from.
Ideally, the display value and the submitted value of the select list would have been the same, but I can't seem to get APEX to allow populating a select list's display value and submitted value fields with the same database column.
If you have any idea how to do either of the above, I'd love to hear from you here!

Question on Privileges to Approve Items

AS PER PORTAL'S ONLINE HELP, ONLY "FOLDER OWNERS" OR "CONTENT AREA ADMINISTRATOR" CAN APPROVE ITEMS CREATED BY A USER WITH "CREATE W/APPROVAL" PRIVILEGE.
BUT I NOTICED THAT USERS WITH "MANAGE ITEMS" PRIVILEGE CAN ALSO SEE AND APPROVE THE ABOVE ITEMS.
IS THIS CORRECT BEHAVIOUR?

The reason for the parsing (I thought I explained it, must have been too vague) is I have about 30 agencies in a csv file.
Each agency can be determined by their subnet(s) and domain(s)
I need to put all lines in the csv relating to each agency in their own separate csv file to distribute to them so I am not sharing agency 'A' info with the other 29 agencies.
