How to cancel a search

There are 2 buttons on a JSP page: One is called Search, another is called Cancel.
When the Search button is pressed, it will trigger an AJAX call, this ajax will call a Java function, while this java function makes a function call to the Oracle database (store procedure/function).
This searching process will take a while... At the mean time, the user wants to cancel the searching. So the user pressed the Cancel button.
Here, I want this cancel process to do two things: 1) to cancel the call to Oracle database; 2) to cancel the Ajax process;
How can I do that?

1) you can't. Once Oracle is doing its thing it's doing its thing and won't listen to reason.
2) has nothing to do with Java. Set some flag on the client that tells Ajax to ignore the results (there should be something like that, I'd put it in).
So now your search is still being executed (until it times out of course) but the results are ignored.
You might be able to send a message to the application server telling it to not bother to send the result, and depending on how you coded the database code this might be useful to prevent all but the currently executing queries.
How you do that is up to you...

Is it possible to cancel a running search? Sometimes a search may take a long time to complete and may be the user would like to cancel the search. When the user uses the quick search I display a popup to prohibit user input based on the documentation here:

Ferez,
this is really an ADF issue, not JHeadstart. I think there's not much you can do beyond setting timeout parameters on your view objects ( http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E28389_01/apirefs.1111/e10653/oracle/jbo/ViewObject.html#setQueryTimeOut%28int%29 ), but you might get better answers on the ADF forum.

How to cancel current printing

i haven't tried printing anything for over a year - of course, the ink cartridges dried up - i got new ones, but my friend decided to set up the printer and print out pictures before i got home - now, the same picture keeps printing...i don't know how to cancel the request - i also don't know if the printer was set up wrong. Does anyone know if this is a common problem?

You can't . As I mentioned before, there is only in thread for the ui available. This thread can only do one thing, either find data or get data. To make it multi tasking you have to trigger a new thread on the server which is finding the data and e.g. putting it in some storage (e.g. db table) and directly after trigger the search coming back to the client. This allows the client to do something else. Periodically you can check the storage or table and if ready show the result.
No easy, but doable.

How to Implement the Search page for Workflow Notifications?

I want to implement the new Search page for Workflow Notifications. Search page containing Company, Paygroup, Source, Initiator, Supplier Name, From date & To date fields. These fields(Poplist & Calendar) are getting the values from different tables and these fields are not in WF_NOTIFICATIONS table only Initiator & dates are there. After selecting the values in all fields or one field based upon these values I want to display the all Workflow Notifications ( Those are satisfy the search criteria only not all ) in Advance Worklist Table RN in the Notifications page. Is it possible to create the Search page based upon the above scenario if Yes Let me know how to implement this search page for Workflow. Page was designed but how to get the sortlisted Notifications and how to pass these values to next page?

I crete the Search page having 5 poplists and select the values from dropdown list and click GO button it serch the records and displays that records in ResultsTable in same page.
My case, Search page is running fine if I select the values and click GO button page is refreshed without errors but I am unable to displays the records in ResultsTable.

Cancelling of excise invoice will be done in the following ways depending on the situation.
Case 1:
Create PO
Do MIGO (create and post excise invoice)
Create return delivery in quality inspection.
Now we have to create a rejection inmvoice in J1IS with reference to the return delivery wherein the excise values gets reversed.
If u try to reverse part 2 entries in J1IEX it will not come.
Case2:
Create PO
Do MIGO (create and post excise invoice)
Do cancellation of MIGO (102 mvt)
With ref to vendor or internal excise invoice number just post the transaction. excise part 2 entries will get reversed. This will happen only if 102 entry exist for the PO line item.
In a nutshell excise entries cancellation comes only if we cancel the material document. If we do return delivery then we have to create rejection excise invoice.

Please note that if you have an iTunes Match subscription, you can't change countries until the subscription has expired. Your subscription expires 08/18/2013.
To turn off Auto-Renew for iTunes Match, follow these steps:
1) Open iTunes.
2) From the pull-down Store menu in the menu bar, Choose Store > Sign In.
3) Enter your iTunes Store account name and password, then click Sign In.
4) Go to the Store menu again, Choose Store > View My Account.
5) Enter your account name and password a second time, then click View Account.
You will be taken to your Apple Account Information page. On this page, simply click the "Turn Off Auto-Renew" button next to iTunes Match.

Again, not accurate. When Match is "turned off" all of the Matched song instances are still shown in the Ibrary and all devices still stream - so, if you have your songs also stored on your local drive (which I choose to as one does not always have access to WiFi and I use the local instances of the songs for some music production/DJing), iTunes shows each song twice. This is cumbersome if you simply want to play an album - you have to hear each song twice. There is no reason technologically they could not simply show the metadata for a song only once and simply hit the cloud object store when it it is not found as a local disk target. This would solve some of the issues and it is pretty much how any content delivery network (CDN) works - and this is how my local Genius Bar assured me it would work before I bought the service. I found they know little about Match.
Other issues: I believe the "exclusive" Cloud Playtlist logic still stands - iTunes protests if you add a non-Matched song to a Playlist (as it assumes you want all Playlists to be cloudy). Also, the APLCARE person and I could not figure out what "Removed" (under Cloud Status) means despite looking up several explanations on the Web. And, we found songs that were only in the cloud that should have also been on my local drive as I never deleted them. That said, it is also a pain to fully delete a song (local + the cloud). Plus, the logic in the Purchased section around what constitutes "Not On Computer" did not hold up. They have lots of logical challenges with thier workflow.
Regardingyour suggestion, there is no way to "not use" Match. Only when one is disconnected from the iTunes store does Match seem to go away completely.The only thing you can turn off is the song syncing/matching/uploading. This amounts only to turning off a sub-process not the service.
Match is likely fine for most who do not want to have any copy of the songs locally and are fine having access to their music only when connected via WiFi. I wanted more ubiquitous access to my collection from my iPad and my iPhone but needed to keep my songs local to my MBP too. This is not the proper use case as I have learned.
Of course I won't renew, but I should be able to cancel a service that I am dissatisfied with.

To see your Safari search history just open Safari and go to the top menu and select from Show History from the History
