How to change Analyzer user password with Administration API?

Hi,<BR>I would like to change Analyzer user password with Administration API. Can someone post some sample commands to do the task?<BR><BR>I would just like to write an application to change end user's Analyzer password.<BR>As I see I would need to do the following:<BR>1. login with admin userid/password<BR>2. execute some method to change password for required userid. I think the input parameter should be userid (of the user I would like to change password) and new password (the new password for the user).<BR>3. logout<BR><BR>Can someone post some sample code (commands to execute)?<BR><BR>Thanks,<BR>grofaty<BR><BR>My system:<BR>Analyzer Server 7.0.1.<BR>Essbase server 7.1<BR>Windows XP SP2<BR>

I did substantial cleanup when we migrated from Analyzer 6 to Analyzer 7.1, and even more cleanup when moving up to 7.2, but our installation is smaller in scale than yours and we didn't need to automate report cleanup.<BR><BR>You might be able to get the ownership information you need through the back door, doing a direct query on the database, but simpler might be an export users, at least from 7.0. (This facility probably doesn't exist in system 9; it was dropped in 7.2 in favor of an undocumented API) The export file is an xml file that could easily be parsed to identify reports that have the administrator as user and then a second pass to delete those with otuer ownership as well. As previously suggested, you might be able to get this by a well crafted SQL query against the repository.<BR><BR>Procedurally, we have both public reports that have the blessing of management and are widely available, owned by a "public owner", and private reports developed by indivdual users and shared or not. Our team maintains the public reports, but not the private reports. We may be asked to make a previously private report public and take over maintenance of it. <BR><BR>I hope that you can find a solution that meets your needs. Certainly a call to customer support to identify a poorly documented feature would be in order.<BR>

  • Change OWB-user password after import

    Hi there,
I set up a new empty 11.2 Warehousbuilder Repository instance, created a workspace and several DB-users (not in OWB) to prepare for MDL-Import.
Into that I run MDL-Import from 10.2 (it creats a MDL-file for 11.2), which was successfuly imported.
Immediatly after import I can not see any content as workspace-owner (may be logical since WS-Owner is not owner of any object imported ?)
and I can't connect as OWB-user as well.
So I tried to change imported OWB-user's password, but how to ?
OWB Install and Admin guide says in chapter 13.10.2, that I would not need to do anything special in OWB, just set password in DB as usual.
    But I can't connect as those OWB-user !?
So how to change OWB-users password correctly ?
    thanks for any hint.
    LaoDe

seems my question wan't clear enough.
So here is an easy scenario step by step:
    0. create a new empty Instance 11.2. Create several schema with only connect, resource grants to match later OWB-import's OWB-users.
    1. create new, empty repository 11.2 + 1 workspace. OWB-Schema, who created WS = OWB_WS_OWNER
    2. run Import from Export MDL-file. This includes several OWB-users.
    3. After Import successful endet, no new objects, OWB-users or anything new is to see. (still beeing OWB_WS_OWNER). Even restart OWB does not show any new objects or OWB-users.
    4. Can't connect to OWB with 1 of those imported Schema, to see any imported objects. Might be logical, because OWB-password for imported OWB-Schemas is unkown -> DB-Password does not help (what is logical).
    5. As OWB_WS_OWNER or OWBSYS: how to change those imported OWB-user's password, when I don't see them as OWB-users ???
    please help, thanks Laode

  • Force all users to change their Enterprise passwords with a batch operation

    Hello,
Do you know if there is a way to force all users to change their Enterprise passwords with a batch operation in the SDK? Is there any implementation done?
    Many thanks!
    Bea

You can logon to Enterprise as Administrator in your SDK application. Query all users using following query:
    select * from ci_systemobjects where si_kind='user'
then loop through the collection InfoObjects returned and cast east object to IUser.
Either call setPasswordToChangeAtNextLogon(true) so that the user logs on next time will be forced to change his\her password. Call commit on InfoObjects collection at the end to save the changes.
Otherwise you can call setNewPassword("new password") to reset password for that user.
Depending upon number of users you can do bath commit. You can use commit(infoObjects, true). The 2nd argument is true for batch commit.

  • Input user password with AR?

    Hi,
I've read http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/acrrfaq.html and other sources regarding commenting PDFs with the Acrobat Reader.
There are tools out there to encrypt a pdf-file and set a user password. If I do this the document security shows, that it is possible to add comments to the document (with the user password).
But how do I enter the user password with AR? If a master password is set, a popup windows appears after opening the document, but what is the user password good for?
There is a plugin in my AR9.0 which is for commenting PDFs.
    greetings from germany
    Stefan K.

    Hi,
    thanks Bernd,
"There are a permission password and a open password."
    ok
"Owners of the open password can open the PDF document."
    ok
"Owners of the permission password can change the security settings."
    ok, but
    - changing the permissions requires Adobe Acrobat, right? not the AReader?
    - why are the document properties different in the document properties screen in AR?
    see: http://users.minet.uni-jena.de/~zsk/pdfs/StundenplanAR813.png
this suggests that the permission password (user password?) is for protecting the document properties, which are listet there - not - for protecting the change of the security settings.
    - why are the document properties(*) different when opening the same document via Adobe Acrobat?
    see: http://users.minet.uni-jena.de/~zsk/pdfs/StundenplanA812std.png
(*) this looks like the so called document properties are not properties of the document but properties of the adobe appl. I use to open it.
    this is all really confusing.
Here is my questiong again: Is it possible to add comments to a document via AR if it has a user password? -> (why does the document security window in StundenplanAR813.png show a Commenting: Allowed?? and why does a Addon in AR exisist that is called Comments??)
    greetings
    Stefan K.

  • Error while trying to change the user password on OSX Lion

    Hello,
I am trying to change the user password ( no admin user ) using the webinterface. I enabled the functionality in webservices on the server.
I can loginto the three line password changing form. After I enter the old and two times the new password, I get the information
"Your request could not be completed. The password server may be unavailable."
How can I fix this problem?  I also tried https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2485167?start=0&tstart=0.
    Thanks in advance for help.

I currently have this error on my 10.6.8 ML server when trying to change password.
In my situation, the message definitely comes from the password policies. As soon as I use a new password that respects minimum complexity (e.g. 8 characters min, 1 lowercase letter, 1 uppercase letter, 1 number), the password changes flawlessly.
It would be nice to change this horrible message to something more meaningful... If someone has any ideas on how to do this, thanks for sharing!

  • Problem in RFC as JCO changed from user/password to  SSO

    Hi all
Initially i was using CO with user/password properties but now it has been changed to SO.
In my webdynpro project there are 3 RFC Models being used.
Out of which 2 are working fine and giving the desired results but 1 RFC works fine on the R/3 side but from the webdynpro side it does not work just displays bapireturn - "Not successful".
As the properties of the JCO changes to USer/password , the RFC works fine giving the desired results
Plz let me know wht cld be the problem
    Thanks and Regards

    Vindhya,
With SSO, the details of the user who's logged in goto R/3 and thus determines if the user has authorizations to run this RFC. This user could be different from the user you were using previously without SSO.
Meaning, this time, with SSO, the user is you whereas the user for user/pwd is someone else and you dont have authorizations to run the RFC??
And another thing, even if you can successfully run that RFC logging into R/3, your userid may not have RFC authorizations (which is required to do a RFC call). IF thats the case, you need to talk to your security/basis guys.
Lemme know if that could be the case in your situation.

  • Will not allow me to change a user password

Okay this is a little different. This has gotten me a little puzzled and I am hoping someone with some knowledge about File Vault etc can help.
I have this machine where there is a user name and a password (that we can't remember) with File Vault turned on. We know the master password however the master password will not allow us to change the users password.
We have tried changing the Master Password to ensure that the password is not the issue and that was successful. We tried using the Master Password to try and change another user account (not with File Vault turned on) and it gives us no problems.
I have tried changing the password in System preferences and I get an error message CSSMERRCODE_MEMORYERROR. I tried going to the login screen letting the login attempts time out where it asks for the master password, then it prompts me to reset the password. No matter what I put in the "new" and "verify" (yes they both match) the screen just shakes and won't let me go any further.
I have repaired the permissions and tried resetting the password with the Leopard DVD and also came across no luck. Because the User has File Vault turned on I can not even back up the data so I just delete the account and re-create the user!
I am really stuck here and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay strangely enough, I tried to reset the password back. We had an old File Vault password that we changed to the current one and then changed again during this process. So taking what you said, I reset the Master password to the original one we had a long time ago. It did not allow us to change the password. However when I changed it back to the one we had changed it to a second time, it wouldn't let me change it at the login screen but it allowed me to change it in the Account Management under System Preferences.
So it is fixed. Needless to say I disabled File Vault and it will never be used again! Thank you for your reply it definitely helped me resolve this issue.
