How to Display Greek Alphabets..

Hi,
I want to assign Key combinations to display greek alphabets. How do I modify the windows font.properties file to include the Greek Characters ? I don't wish to use internationalization as I want to display the greek characters as I type on the keyboard. I've done this for German, French, Spanish and Italian - for the accented characters only as they are supported. how do i get Windows to support Greek ?

How can I use the Greek alphabet in Appleworks?

I need occasional Greek letters for scientific writing, and I usually use Appleworks 6.2.9 for word processing. I have activated the Greek alphabet through my iMac's Character Palette and can use it TextEdit, but not in Appleworks. Nor can I cut and paste Greek letters from TextEdit to Appleworks - they transpose as question marks. Anyone know of a solution?

AppleWorks is an old application, and can use only Mac Roman encoded fonts. Most of the fonts supplied with current Macs are Unicode encoded, and cannot be used in AppleWorks. Character Palette will show all the characters, and will report the Unicode character number for Unicode encoded characters.
There are a few Greek letters available in some standard font sets, and you can see these and the key combination necessary to achieve them in Keyboard Viewer.
Beyond thise, your choices are to find a downloadable Greek font with Mac Roman encoding, or to move your scientific work to a newer application.

Hi all, I'm tryng to resolve a problem with the Greek characters
I need to display labels in two languages, english or greek inside my report.
At the beginning of the report I have a placeholder with the xml code : *<?param@begin:p_language?>*, so I can understand inside my report if the user chose the Greek or English, and then I have many placeholders (labels) which have to be written in Greek or English.
If the language chosen is English, I don't have any problem to show my labels bold or italic in every fonts
Inside the placeholder I wrote the following code:

I can chose font, style and bold/not bold directly from Word and when I run the report in pdf I see exactly what I chose.
If the language chosen is Greek....I see always the label in Arial, NOT BOLD and NOT ITALIC...
In order to see Greek characters BOLD:
a) I added (under the ADMIN tab/Runtime Configuration/Font Mappings/ ) a font named Arial and I addeda target Font named Arialbd.ttf under the directory: D:\Oracle\Oracle_Homes\BIP_101341\jdk\jre\lib\fonts
b) I changed the font (from word) to Arial
Now, ONLY with tha ARIAL font I can see my labels in greek bold, but I can't still see them in italic style.....
So, I tried to force these condition inside the placeholder with the following code:

Trying to write greek alphabet to g2d

I'm trying to create a little exercise that will write the greek alphabet on a Graphics2D. Unfortunately the g2d seems to be using the latin0 character map. Is there a way to make it use ISO-8859-7 character set? (BTW, the problem is a little more broad than it sounds. I cannot currently display Russian or other characters).

I suspect you need to understand how Java uses unicode (see the Character documentation, but in short: not all (in fact most) Unicode character don't fit in a primitive char.

How to un hide alphabet in Music app?

As you can see, the alphabet that would normally appear on the right side of the screen is gone. It is normally used to jump to a specific letter in your library (like in the contacts app). Changing screen orientation doesn't help and it was displayed perfectly until today. I think I used some kind of a gesture or touched something that it disappeared. I noticed the change while deleting the free U2 songs from one of my playlists and reverted back to the "Songs" tab. Does anyone know how to bring the alphabet back? Restarting the app makes no difference either and I didn't even open the settings app in the first place.

There is no change whatsoever. Also, it might be worth noting that I am talking about my 4th gen iPad. My iPhone still displays the alphabet so there's no point in bringing it in the discussion. As I mentioned, it is possible that I used a gesture to hide it, but I am unaware of what gestures. I did try swiping and tapping in a number of ways, but nothing helped.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. Dreamweaver.setUpFindReplace() and the Greek Alphabet

I've set up a script to clean up special characters with the following:

This is calling from 2 arrays - autofind and autorep. Autofind contains raw special characters, and autorep their &#** replacements.
The trouble I'm having is getting Dreamweaver to understand the difference between uppercase and lowercase Greek letters. For example:
autofind[112] = "α"
autofind[146] = "Α"
autorep[112] = "\α"
autorep[146] = "\Α"
replaces Α α with α α (α α).
So it appears that Dreamweaver does not understand that the Greek Alphabet has upper and lower case - or recognize that Α and α are different characters. Any ideas on how to get this script to work? It's handling all other special characters well - the only problem is with the Greek alphabet.

1- put your images in a directory under the web app directory. Example: app/images/
2- in your jsp, use: String file = application.getRealPath("/images/"); to get the images directory. See http://java.sun.com/j2ee/sdk_1.3/techdocs/api/javax/servlet/ServletContext.html#getRealPath(java.lang.String)

Hi All,
we are running database in Linux server and separate Linux Application Server , But my question is how to display the data to Excel Report in the Client machine
in Forms11g applications.
Plesase suggest any method.
