How to export a QT with eight audio tracks

Hi  All. I want to export a sequence with 8 separate audio tracks (interviews on 1&2, music on 7&8, sound effects and ambient sound on the others) so that the resulting QT has 8 separate and distinct tracks, matching the tracks in FC.
The goal is for a future editor at the TV station I work at to be able to take the video and ambient audio, but use different music.
In sequence settings, I've got 'audio output' set to 8, with each grouping checked 'dual Mono'. But when I export, I get a QT with a mixed down stereo pair on channels 1 and 2 (with audio from all the FC tracks), and six empty tracks.

I have a video tutorial...goes into a bit more detail, including how to make those 8 options happen:

  • Export to Quicktime with multiple Audio Tracks?

    Hi all --
I am on a tight deadline (48 hrs!) to deliver a Quicktime Prores file with 6 audio tracks: ch 1+2 dialog, ch 2+3 music&effects, ch 4+5 stereo mix. I'm working with FCP 6.
Now, I have figured out how to export the FCP 6 project to a Quicktime file with multiple audio tracks (in the Project settings, I specify 3 stereo channels, then I assign each audio track to one of the channels and export everything to a Quicktime file).
However, how can I send a stereo mix to channels 4+5?? FCP only allows me to assign each audio track one but not multiple output channels, and I didn't see a way where I could create a bus.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks!

Something is being miscounted here. You say you have dialog on 1+2 and then say you have M&E on 2+3? I think you meant to say 3+4 and the stereo mix will be on 5+6. The easiest way to do this is to copy tracks 1-4 to tracks 5-8 by shift-option-dragging them there. Holding option will copy the tracks instead of moving them and holding shift will insure that the tracks will not move earlier or later. Then send 5+6 (dialog) to the 5+6 output (using the info in the above referenced discussion) and send 7+8 (music&effects) also to the 5+6 output. Done.

  • Can you export a Quicktime with multiple audio tracks?

I have a video with split audio tracks.
I'd like to archive a copy that retains all the individual tracks so that other people could just open the file later and not have to reconstruct the tracks (i could certainly archive all the tracks individually).
the problem i'm having is that FCP seems to only want to allow me to export 2 tracks of audio. I may be missing a setting, but i'm not sure.
I can digitize a clip from a digibeta with 4+ tracks, and when i open the clip in QT, it recognizes the individual tracks, so it seems as if the capabilities are there.
have they just not been integrated yet?

  • How to burn a DVD with two audio track?

There is a projet with the original video and a second audio track with music. I want to burn a DVD with both audio tracks. When playing the DVD you should be able to select audio track 1 (the original sound) or audio track 2 (the music). With Adobe Encore DVD it was easy to configure the two audio tracks and burn the DVD. It is posible to do the same from Adobe Premier Elements 11?
    Thanks,

    Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately, PrE does not allow for supplemental Audio Tracks, when authoring.
I use Adobe Encore for this, but it is only available bundled with Premiere Pro. I do not know if some other, third party, full-featured authoring apps., like Sony's DVD Architect can do that, but I would suspect that they can. The specifications for DVD Architect should have that information, and as it's quite common in full-featured authoring apps., I anticipate that it has that capability.
If you do go with that program, our MOD, Steve Grisetti, has written a very good book on DVD Architect, and it's available at Muvipix.com.

  • Exporting QT file with multiple audio tracks

I'm trying to create a digibeta tape of my movie. The company who does it wanted a QuickTime file with the movie where there were 2 audio tracks (4 in sterio). One with the music and sound effects and another with narration and interviews. I'm not sure if this is possible or where to set the option for this. Can anyone help?

Command+0 (zero) to bring up Sequence Settings, go to the Audio Outputs tab and change the Outputs to 4 whilst keeping the Grouping as Stereo.
Back on the timeline, ensure your audio media is on the correct audio track for export, eg, all music on 7&8 , 9&10, VO on 5 and/or 6 , etc etc. Basically, keeping an organised timeline without spreading audio over random tracks really helps.
Ensure the audio tracks are assigned to the correct channels. To do this, on the timeline you see the 'destination buttons' A1 A2 A3 A4 A5 A6 etc etc... next to each button is a padlock, then you have the Toggle Auto Select icon. Control-click on this icon and you'll see the Audio Outputs setting, which shows which stereo pair that particular track is assigned to. In this case, you'll want to assign Music and Effects to 3&4, whilst keeping narration and interviews on 1&2.
    Export Quicktime Movie.

  • Exporting a project with multiple audio tracks changes the loudness level regardless of export format

I recently had to submit a TVC and discovered that premiere was changing the loudness level after export, when the TVC failed the quality check.
I checked the audio loudness of other formats that I had exported and the same thing had happened the audio loudness, it had changed.
After a bit of troubleshooting I found a workaround. I mixdown all of the tracks in adobe audtion to one track and then imported it into premeire.
Once I did this the audio loudness was not changed after exporting.
Workflow for when it didn't work.
I used edit in adobe audtion for the audio tracks from premiere.
Matched the audio to the loudness level I wanted, and then saved each track.
    Export from premiere.
    To Check Audio Loudness
Bring in exported file into new premiere project
Edit the audio in adobe audtion.
Drag the audio file into match audio to check loudness level.
    I am using
    Adobe Premiere Pro CC v8.1
    Windows 7 on PC
    Please fix this adobe.

What did your Broadcast Quality Control pick up on?
Audio Levels and Loudness are two different things in this regard.

  • Export QuickTime file with new audio and maintain the file size and quality as the original.

I shot some footage for a client yesterday and ran into an issue. To make a long story short I have QuickTime mov files shot with my Panasonic GH4 that have a buzzing sound in the audio track. I have clean audio from a recorder that can be sync'd. Is there a way for me to do this for the client and deliver them as the same QuickTime file but with the clean audio and keep the file size close to the original and not have quality loss in the image?
If so I will probably put all of the spanned clips together from each interview and sync the audio before delivery. I am just not sure which codec will give the client the same quality footage compared to the originals and not have a massive difference in the overall file size. They did request that they be Quicktime MOV files though so that is a must.
I don't see this as an option in the codecs in the export settings in PP, but is there a way to export as ProRes or another MAC native codec that will save them from having to convert it on their end? I am on a PC with Adobe CS5.5 so I am not too familiar with MACs, but from what I understand they would need to convert the files if I sent them straight out of the camera.
I found some related search results for this but they pertained to "Best quality" for export. I am not sure how the varying options work but I don't want to create files that are considerably larger, just not less quality.
If anyone has experience with this it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Cole

Here's the workflow: I imported the video footage into iMovie '08 and did my edits. Then I exported it (share) to my desktop with compression set @ 740 X 480. Then I used QuickTime Pro to fix the audio track. The file plays perfectly with both audio tracks working. It's a QuickTime file (.mov).
I hope this jars any replies as to why the file when uploaded to my iWeb gallery drops the second audio track.
    Hmm,

  • How to revert to original, the extracted Audio Tracks with SoundBooth?

How to revert to original, the extracted Audio Tracks with SoundBooth?
I have installed the Adobe "MasterCollectionSuite-CS5"-ITA with PremiereProCS5 and SoundboothCS5.
I made a few test with PremierePro Audio clips and used the option "Make a rendering and extract" with Soundbooth.
I want know, after that operation:
    - Exists an option (a shortcut) to revert automatically the audio tracks from the extracted Soundbooth clips to the original audio footage?
    - In other words, I want return to the original audio timeline situation, prior to make the extraction with Soundbooth. Is it possible?
    - I know just one method:
Click and drag the video clip from timeline and release the clip in the "Source"Monitor window. After that I can drag the video+audio at the same start-and-end point of the source and put it into timeline, at the same place...
But with this method I loose the applied effects and transitions from the edited clips in the timeline...
    Exists another method?
    Thanks!
    Horsepower0171.

    Dear  <http://forums.adobe.com/people/Shai+Schcolnik> Shai Schcolnik
After you have edited the Audio file in Soundbooth, you should:
    1)      Select the Original Footage in PremierePro > Project Folder
    2)      Select with RIGHT Click the Video+Audio Clip in PremierePro Timeline, and in RIGHT Click Menu choose “Replace/Substitute with clip” > “From Folder”
    3)      Now you can delete in PremierePro > ProjectFolder, the named Audio File “…_Extracted.wav” edited previously with Soundbooth!
The new one is your original footage!

  • Trouble with 2nd audio track when exporting to Quicktime - please help!

Ok - I've made my DV movie in IMovie - all ok. When I export to Quicktime the second audio track (an mp3 imported from iTune) jumps up in volume unexpectedly but always in the same place. There is no such jump in the original and I haven't put in any nodes to boost the volume etc.

  • Newbie Question - Creating DVD from Premiere to Encore with 2 audio tracks

Hello and thanks for your time,
I'm pretty new to all this but seem to be getting the hang of things pretty well but one problem I'm having I can't seem to find an answer to.
In Premiere I am creating a dvd of a football game, i have the video with an audio track of the crowd and another audio track of the commentary.  These are all edited together fine and work well.  I then use the dynamic link to send the sequence to Encore and that's where the problem occurs.
I can't seem to get both audio tracks to appear in Encore?  Any suggetions or tips on where I might find an answer?
cheers for the help and time
    Ian

    Ian,
This is not a cure to the issue, but is a workaround. It's the "old-fashioned" way that things were done before DL.
Export your Sequence as elemental streams, i.e. video-only and audio-only. Import your video-only file into Encore as a Timeline, and teh audio-only file as an Asset. From Project Panel, drag the audio to the appropriate timeline. Done.
Now, exactly what you choose for your Export and even how you do this will depend on your Project in PrPro and also your source Assets. For SD material, I'd choose DV-AVI Type II video-only (no multiplexing), and for the Audio 48KHz 16-bit PCM/WAV. If you have a version of PrPro prior to CS4, just Export Movie (settings above) for the Video and Export>Movie (or AME) for the Audio (settings above). Just make sure that the Export Video is checked for the DV-AVI, but the Export Audio is not. Change these two checkboxes for the Audio.
Now, for DL not working, as it should, what is the format of your source Audio? Do you have any Channel-mapping used? Does your Audio Mixer Panel show everything right there? Do you have one Audio Track either Muted, or Bypassed. Look in Audio Mixer, to make sure you do not have one Track Solo'ed.
Also, what version are you using, CS3, or CS4? Note: for CS4, you will use AME for the Exporting in the first part of the post.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Quicktime movie with 3 audio tracks. Can't select audio track!

I have a movie containing 3 audio tracks (3 different languages):
    Format: H.264, 720x304, 16,7 Mio
    AAC, Stereo (L R), 48.000 kHz
    AAC, Stereo (L R), 48.000 kHz
    AAC, Stereo (L R), 48.000 kHz
When I play this movie with Apple Quicktime I hear a mix of all 3 languages at the same time. How can I select each audio track separately. With VLC player (freeware) it works fine.
Is the selection of the audio tracks a feature of Quicktime Pro or is this a bug in Quicktime?!

    Hello lildog, hello QuickTimeKirk,
Thank you for your answer. In the meantime I solved this problem. It is caused by the program ”MP4Box” which I used to create the video with the 3 audio tracks. Apple Quicktime and iTunes needs ”very special” header settings inside the mp4 container. A new version of MP4Box with special switches for this case solves the problem. For more details see this thread on the gpac/MP4Box project homepage: http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?threadid=2345177&forumid=287547
The VLC Player is much more docile with multiple audio tracks.

  • Working with multiple audio tracks

    Hello,
I'm working with video clips that have a stereo audio track (guide audio fed into the camera) synch'ed to 4 mono tracks (recorded from a variety of boom mics and lavaliers).
Although I've linked all the audio clips to the video, it still gets a bit cumbersome when performing T or L cuts. When I hold down the Option key, I still have to adjust each of the audio track separately.
Is there a more efficient way to deal with multiple audio tracks? Maybe some way to treat these audio tracks as one unit?
BTW I'm working in FCP 7.
    Thanks,
    Thien

    One way:
    Lock the video track.
Use the Edit Selection Tool to Select the audio transition points
This will automatically open the Trim window, where you can move the cut point - in this case I am moving the audio cut(s) 30 frames later than the video cut:
which gives me the displacement of all the tracks that I wanted:
You can use this quite quickly once you get used to it.

  • Help importing WMV files with 4 audio tracks....

    Hello,
I am using a PC to run a robot show. The show runs off of WMV files recorded with 4 audio tracks.
The "front" audio tracks are the left and right chanels for sound.
The "rear" audio tracks are the signals the show runs off of.
(If you want to see the show... it's here http://www.yorkmiss.com/Curtains.wmv
I run the audio files using the windows media player and as you can see... it works fine.
However, I would like to use the I-tunes player since I can then controld the show remotely using my I-Touch.
The problem is that every time I import one of the audio file into I-tunes, it converts it to a new type of file that "blends" the front and rear chanels of audio together.
I've tried every different option in the import prefrences list - and they all have the same result.
Does anyone know a way of playing the files "as-is" without converting them, or is there a way of converting them I do not know about?
Here's an example of one of the files:
    http://www.yorkmiss.com/ShowbizKylesmom_504.wma
Any help or suggestions would be welcome and appreciated!
    Thanks in advance,
    Beth

Yes, I understand that now... but is there a way to convert to those file types while still preserving the 4 seperate audio chanels?
    Thanks, Beth
