How to Identify mismatch values in two columns

I have two tables basically two excel files used by two different depts. I am trying to reconcile dollar amounts between two.
Table A has ID, Amount,Paid Date
Table B has ID,Amount ,Paid Date.
What`s happening is between two tables at times we are finding amount column values differ for same paiddate, there are instances where same transaction recorded in table A will have a different amount but Paid Date will be different. I am trying to find
ID`s which have different amounts.Code below I am trying to find ID`s that exist in both tables and In my where clause I am using where Amount col from Table A is not equal Amount Col in Table B. When I run this code I get I dont see mismatched amounts
select l.id,SUM(l.[amount]),a.amount
FROM SFY14_Detail_Q1 a
inner JOIN dbo.Qtr1_X_Recon l ON l.[id] = a.ID
WHERE l.[amount] <> a.amount and l.[amount] <> 0
group by l.id,a.amount
order by sum(l.[amount]) desc

Chances are, it's because you are grouping by amount.  If you look closer, you'll probably see the same ID twice, once for one amount, and again elsewhere for the other amount.  So by appearing twice, your query is working, it is identifying
the two with different values, but grouping by Amount, you're not seeing them side by side.   You could sort by ID instead, then amount, then they'll show twice, near one another.

    Use NVL or COALESCE:
    NVL (col_a, col_b)
    Returns col_a if col_a is not NULL; otherwise, it returns col_b.
    Col_a and col_b must have similar (if not identical) datatypes; for example, if col_a is a DATE, then col_b can be another DATE or it can be a TIMESTAMP, but it can't be a VARCHAR2.

    From what you say:
       INSERT tbl(col1, col2)
          SELECT col1, col1
          FROM   OPENROWSET(....)
    But I guess it is more difficult. You need to give more details. What sort of data source do you have? What does your query look like? The target table?

    Database table have columns like
    column1,column2,column3...etc, now i need to insert same value from input file into two columns for ex:
    the eTab value from text file has to be insert into column2 and column3 of
    table
    we cannot change format file like below one
    for the above situation how can we insert eTab into column2 and column3

    I've tried to set default value at column level:

    Create a function group.
    Define global data (there is a similiar menu point to jump to the top include).
    Create one or two function modules, with which you can read and write the global data.
    In your BADI methods you can access the global data with help of your function modules. It will stay in memory through the whole transaction.

                To get the value in formula cumulative,after you have created the formula for that particular key figure,go to edit and click on tab "calculations".
    In that select overall result as 'count all values not equal to zero' and single result as 'count all values not equal to zero' .
    And mark the cumulative check box underneath.

    thanks for reply. i am trying to assign an integer value to a button and the button should send the assigned integer value to TCP/IP write, only when the button is pressed. i am able to send data using string control (as shown in the attachment) but i want to replace it with several buttons. for example, if i enter 2 in string control, this data will be sent to a robot (robot has wifi card)  through tcp/ip protocol, it moves front. 3 will make it to move back, 8 is left, 6 is right. this numeric data is already burnt into blackfin processor of the robot. so just by entering numbers in labview can make my robot move in specified direction. can you please help me to create a button with value and convert it into string and send it to tcp/ip write. this should happen only when the button is pressed. because, if i enter numbers in string control, it dosent looks good..... if i have buttons... i think my VI will look good and hitech.

    When you do this, there is no fundamental difference between "08:00:00" and "here's your sign".
    Data should always be stored in the correct data type. For dates and times, that data type is either DATE or TIMESTAMP. Period.
    in this format: 08:00:00
    now i have to insert this value in timestamp column in table. how to insert this value in timestamp column?

    When i put in the PO KF in the column and also the Confirmation KF in other Column it either shows me # for both the entries or it shows me values in only one of the column
    if PO is displayed the Confirmation is not displayed and if Confirmation is displayed PO values are shown as # i dont know what wrong i am doing.
    if you have idea can you tell me what i should do when i want two different values from two ODS if there are no characteristics that are matching in either of the ODS should i go for Multi Provider and if so how should be my designing. i would really appreciate if you can tell me taking a scenerio.

    assuming a static delimiter, and the split will end up with a max of 2 columns, something like this would work.  basically you just need to determine where the delimiter is, and then use the left and right functions to find the 2 pieces.

    You can just simply edit to each column's report attribute. For example,
    To set default date,
    Default Type: PL/SQL Expression of Function
    Default: sysdate
    To set default text,
    Default Type: PL/SQL Expression of Function
    Default: *'CLERK'*

    By using this query, I am getting a dataset which includes all the columns of sharepoint list. Among these columns, I wanted to display only 2 columns (i.e Region and Sales type) using chart. I have created a Region parameter but when I click preview, the drop down box is giving me all the repeatative values of region like RG1,RG1,RG1,RG2,RG2,RG2,RG2,RG3.......... I wanted to display only distinct values of Region parameter so that whenever end user select region from the parameter drop down, it will display the respective value of Sales type column.
    Also when I select only RG1 parameter, it is giving me a chart including the sales type of all the Regions. (it should display me only the sales type of RG1) How can I link these 2 columns so that they will display the values respectively.
              I would really appreciate if anyone can help me out with this.

    By code, the CAML language doesn’t have any reserved word (or tag) to set this particular filter to remove duplicate results.
    In this case, we could use the custom code to get distinct records.
    Here are the detailed steps:
    1.         Create a hidden parameter that gets all the records in one field.
    Note: Please create another dataset that is same of the main dataset. This dataset is used for the parameter.
    2.         Create a function that used to remove the duplicate records.
    Here is the code:
    Public Shared Function RemoveDups(ByVal items As String) As String
    Dim noDups As New System.Collections.ArrayList()
    Dim SpStr
    SpStr = Split(items ,",")
    For i As Integer=0 To Ubound(Spstr)

    And the default value to be the value you what such as the first value:
    =Split(Code.RemoveDups(JOIN(Parameters!ISSUE_STATUS_TEMP.Value, ",")), ",").(0)
    4.         Go to the main dataset. Open the property window of this dataset.
    5.         In the “Filters” tab, set the filter to be:
    Expression: <The field to be filter>
    Operator: =
    Value: =Parameters!Region.Value
    The parameter “Region” should be the parameter we created in the step3.
    Now, we should get distinct values of SharePoint columns.
