Non-modal Popup possible- Factsheet in new window

Hi,
I have the requirement that I need to open the account factsheet in a new window. For that I have created a popup which works fine but I need this popup to be non-modal.
Is there any way to do this? Or is there any other solution to open the factsheet in a separate window?
Thanks for your help and best regards,
Katharina

Hi  Katharina,
I have a similar requirement.
If you have solved the issue could you please share the solution?
Thanks,
Manoj.

  • Showing non-modal popup in overlay of browser.xul - on Windows

    Hi. I've got a custom Firefox add-on in plain Javascript. It to overlays Firefox's browser.xul (via chrome.manifest) by an XUL file, where I would like to show a non-modal popup (or some kind of non-intrusive notification).
    I've tried following three options from https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/Code_snippets/Alerts_and_Notifications:
    1.
    Components.classes['@mozilla.org/alerts-service;1'].
    getService(Components.interfaces.nsIAlertsService).
    showAlertNotification(null, 'Some title', 'Some message', false, '', null);
    2.
    var win = Components.classes['@mozilla.org/embedcomp/window-watcher;1'].
    getService(Components.interfaces.nsIWindowWatcher).
    openWindow(null, 'chrome://global/content/alerts/alert.xul',
    '_blank', 'chrome,titlebar=no,popup=yes', null);
    win.arguments = [null, 'Some title', 'Some message', false, ''];
    3.
    var message = 'Another pop-up blocked';
    var nb = gBrowser.getNotificationBox();
    var n = nb.getNotificationWithValue('popup-blocked');
    if(n) {
    n.label = message;
    } else {
    var buttons = [{
    label: 'Button',
    accessKey: 'B',
    popup: 'blockedPopupOptions',
    callback: null
    Neither of them works on Windows. The first two work on Linux (Fedora 20 x64). Neither of them generates any error either.
    Please, suggest how/where to do that, or how to 'schedule it' (as an even handler to a system event, I suppose) from my overlay of browser.xul.

    I think you would have a better chance of getting comments from experienced add-on developers on one of these sites:

    Thanks in advance

    why are you using the factory method, instead you can use the
    the interface if_wd_window_manager , method create_window
    data:l_window1 type ref to if_wd_window_manager,
         popup type ref to if_wd_window,
         l_cmp_api type ref to if_wd_component,
         l_view_api       type ref to if_wd_view_controller.
         l_cmp_api = wd_comp_controller->wd_get_api( ).
         l_window1 = l_cmp_api->get_window_manager( ).
         popup = l_window1->create_window(

  • Non modal popup

    Hi,

    Hello Rodrigo,
    Currently popups can be displayed only as modal dialogs.

  • ADF Faces: non-modal popup windows

    Hi,
    when using the dialog functionality on commandXXX components the dialog always opens in a modal mode. My requirements are to let the user open as many popups as someone likes from the same page.
    Is it possible to achieve this behaviour without manual "javascript hackery"?
    Any hints are greatly appriciated.
    Regards,
    Andreas.

    Hi all,
    I still have the requirement to open a popup in non-modal mode. Has anyone an example how to do that? The actionListener method on my command button has to be executed of course...
    Thanks in advance,

  • 1. Non-modal popup or 2.minimize button on titlebar of popup

    Hi All,
    Firstly, is it now possible to open non-modal pop-ups ( as many pop-ups after executing an action method :( ) , or has anyone come across this found a work-around for this ?
    currently, I am opening a modal dialog itself. But when I click the minimize ( since minimize, maximize and close buttons are activated in the title bar ), the popup minimizes and maximises immediately. This is now raised as a bug and I need to find a solution for this.
    Would much appreciate help,comments or views on this ?

    ok i got what you mean but its an option for ver1.0 not version 2.0 of the same plugin..thanks.Well, this is an option in the Apex framework for dynamic actions. In Apex 4.2, the options for "Event Scope" are Static, Dynamic and Once.
    In your case, you can set it to live.

  • How to publish a non scorm file to open in new window on LMS?

    Hi, I've published an elearning module to our LMS, but I can't get it to open in a new window.
    I've published some captivate courses before which all did open in a new window. The difference with this one is that all the others were scorm (had quizzes which this one doesn't.)
    Is that the problem? I did try to publish the file as if it were a scorm file (tick 'enable reporting for this project') but then the LMS could not open the course.
    The file is published like: elearn output: disabled, display score: no, enable access.: yes. Output options: export html
    Any ideas?
    Thanks a lot!

    Hello and welcome,
    Several factors will be responsible for the SWF output file. You use high resolution (ppi, 24-bit; sometimes I have better results with Optimized which cannot be set here but has to be done in the slides themselves), probably needed because of quality. You can reduce more by setting only those slides that need this high quality to High (or Optimized) and leave the others at Low but this also has to be done in the Slide Properties and then you'll have to check 'Retain Slide Quality Settings'. But what is the total resolution of your project: widthxheight? Because that is also one of the main factors! Next question: do you have audio? Audio clips add a lot more to the filesize than slides and/or graphics. If you have be sure to keep the lowest acceptible settings for the audio. Do you have video inserted? Again... adds to filesize.
    Maybe this seems a stupid question, but I have so often seen files with slides that have an unneccessary long duration. Each second of a slide adds 30frames to your project...

  • DHCP stopped working for wired clients (possibly due to new Windows 8 machine on network?)

    My home office network has always been rock solid but has suddenly stopped allocating DHCP addresses to wired clients (wireless still works). The only thing that has changed has been the introduction of 2 Windows 8.1 laptops for my children over Christmas, and I wonder if these are the cause?
    My network set-up is as follows...
    I have a fibre broadband connection into the home office which plugs into my Airport Extremes WAN port. I then have a single ethernet cable going from one of the LAN ports on the AE to a gigabit ethernet hub, into which I have 10+ machines. The AE is set to use PPPoE to get the net connection and the network setting is to use DHCP to sign addresses. The IP addresses are assigned to the wired clients, plus a couple of airport expresses, and a number of iPhones, iPads etc. This has all worked fine for a couple of years, and any device just gets an address and works.
    At Christmas both my children got Windows 8 laptops (don't ask!). I connected them to the wifi network (served by the Airport Extreme) and they got assigned an IP address correctly. They can browse fine, and also auto-updated to 8.1 at the same time.
    I wasn't working in the home office at that time but did notice a few things not connecting and when I did check, none of the wired devices was receiving an IP address. They all come up as self-assigned. Nothing has changed on the network itself, the cables are still plugged in (the machines haven't moved!). I think somewhere on the network a second DHCP server is running, but I cannot see where. The only new thing are the Windows 8 laptops. Could they be the problem?

    I've managed to spend some time testing and here is what I found out.
    Before doing anything I turned off the two PC laptops to make sure they were not available
    I powered down the Airport Extreme and disconnected the ethernet cable in the LAN port
    I powered on the Airport Extreme
    I then connected my laptop (running 10.10) via a single ethernet cable to one of the LAN ports. The laptop had wifi off.
    I checked the network control panel, and I had a valid IP address via DHCP. I checked a couple of websites and was able to view them.
    I then unplugged the ethernet cable from my laptop and plugged it into my ethernet switch (keeping the there end in the same LAN port on the AE). No machine on the network was able to get an IP address via DHCP, they all came up self-assigned.
    I then unplugged the ethernet cable from the AE LAN port. I unplugged one of the cables from the switch that goes to a second switch on the network and plugged that into the same AE LAN port. All the machines connected to that switch came up self-assigned and won't get an IP address via DHCP.
    In summary, if a single machine is wired to the AE it gets a valid IP address via DHCP. If multiple machines are connected they don't.
    With the Windows machines turned off, I now thinking they might not be the cause. BUT nothing has changed on the network to make this happen.

  • Popups still occur and new windows not in tabs; firefox not secure

    After having read the excuse that Firefox can't stop all popups because malware may be calling unpublished APIs,
    WHY DONT YOU TREAT INTERNAL window-create APIs as if they were external network requests that require secure key authentication?!?
    Since this is a particularly sensitive operation, causing much pain when it is not secured against hackers,
    DONT TREAT IT LIKE A TYPICAL INTERNAL API!!!

    Type '''about:config''' in the Location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key. When you see a warning, click '''I'll be careful, I promise!''' button.
    * Preferences that have been modified are shown as '''bold (user set)'''.
    * Preferences can be '''Reset to the default''' or changed via the right-click context menu.
    -> In the '''Filter bar''' type '''browser.link.open_newwindow'''
    * Right click the preference '''browser.link.open_newwindow''' and click '''Modify'''
    * change the value to '''3'''
    * click OK
    -> In the '''Filter bar''' type '''browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction'''
    * Right click the preference '''browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction''' and click '''Modify'''
    * change the value to '''0''' (zero)
    * click OK
    -> Close the '''about:config''' tab and then Restart Firefox.
    Check and tell if its working.

  • Focus Problem -- Two Non Modal Dialogs

    Hi ,
    In my applet, when user does something which is not allowed, I display an error message box (JOptionPane dialog - modal).
    There is another dialog box (non modal) that user
    can open to view search results and put it aside the
    applet window to do some parallel work.
    Now when error message dialog appears, the search
    dialog box also pops up even if the user
    has put this behind the applet window (by clicking browser window or applet, the search dialog goes behind the window).
    Can you please let me know, how can I get rid
    of this search dialog (non-modal) popup. I mean
    search dialog should remain open but should not
    come infront (ie should not get focus) when modal
    error message dialog pops up.
    NOTE: I don't want to make search dialog
    a modal dialog.
    Thanx,
    [email protected]

    Thanks for the reply michael. I forgot to mention particularly during my post that i am facing this problem on Solaris system. Running the same application on windows is working fine. I can't make other non-modal dialogs visibility to false because they should be visible on the screen all the time throught out the application life cycle and making it visible/non-visible doesn't get sense in my application. Does anybody is facing the same problem with Solaris system? Plz help.

    Could anyone please help me out in this.

    Anoop,
    Without the profile change, i guess it is not possible to open new window, as MAC key validation will be imposed! You can read about these profile options from Metalink doc id:390203.1 and explain to your client side1

  • How do I change "open new window" tab behaviour?

    I used to be a Firefox user ages ago, and then switched to Chrome for awhile. I'm coming back now, and I'm noticing some strangeness with tabs and "new windows". Can't figure out how to get around it.
    My "Home Page" is set up to open three tabs. One is MSN, the second is my email, and the third is Google Calendar. That works great, except..
    1) If I pick "New Window" (Ctrl-N), it re-opens those same three tabs. When I open a new Window, I don't want to open those three tabs again. They're already open in the primary window. How do I stop Firefox from doing that? I can't figure out how to make that happen.
    2) The other is about the "Home" button. If I push the home button it loads all three of those tabs. In Chrome there's a separate setting for the home button vs the startup tabs. Is there any way to replicate this? I occasionally hit the home button just to load MSN. I don't want all three of those tabs when I hit the home button. Any way around this?
    Danke.

    That is not possible.
    A new window opens the home page(s), so you would have to set the home page to about:blank or create a bookmark with the location set to about:blank and hold the Shift key and left-click to open this page in a new window.
    You can add those three pages to the command line of the Firefox desktop shortcut to open these page when you start Firefox.

  • How does one open something in a new window rather than a new tab, when browsing?

    I much prefer how this used to be before I upgraded to the latest iOS, in this sense.
    I do not like dealing with multiple tabs; there are times that a new window is just needed.
    I am assuming that it is possible to open new windows and I just haven't figured it out yet.
    Thanks for any and all help!

    Thank you for your comments.
    Truthfully, I am shocked that this is the case and even more so that people didn't put up such a stink that Apple had to reinstate the old option. If I had to pick only one, which doesn't seem reasonable at all, I would choose the separate windows of old as opposed to the tabs.
    Thanks again for your help; I was really hoping that I wouldn't be disappointed.

  • Af:inputDate with both date and time: modal popup forces validation

    Hello,
    I am using an af:inputDate with an af:convertDateTime type='both' (displaying date and time).
    When the calendar popup is shown it's a modal popup. I guess it is because of the type='both'?
    My problem is: when the modal popup is shown I get also the validation popup with errors (for example required fields) which is shown too.
    Maybe someone could help?
    Is there a way to force non-modal popup for this kind of calendar?
    Is there a way to stop validation if I am already displaying another popup?
    Thanks in advance,
    Cindy
