    I have solaris10 64bit os, oracle 10.2.0.4,netweaver 7.0
Now i want to work with BRTOOLS in unix, i want to increase table space.

    Hello Prathap,
if you are unfamiliar with database administration for SAP systems,
then start reading the documentation about the BR*Tools:
    [Getting Started with BR*Tools|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp2/helpdata/en/0c/cd271365debc42bef96ac7fd907787/frameset.htm]
For a start, you can call BR*tools on OS-level:
    brtools -u /
    2 (Space Management)
    1 (Extend tablespace)
It is a good idea to post your question in the "SAP on Oracle"
forum. BR*Tools are the same on Unix and Windows, so there
is no need to also crosspost on "SAP on Unix" forum. The
    operating system doesn't matter.

Hello. I am developing a page in Application Designer.
I need to place multiple records with many fields in the page. But the entire space of the page is not enough to place the fields. We need to use a vertical scroll to increase the space of the page to hold all of the fields. But I don't understand how to do this feature.
Can any folks tell me how to increase the space of a page in Application Designer in order to hold many fields ?

    Folks,
Hello. Thanks a lot for replying. It's correct !

    Hi,
You can do it in couple of ways,ie either with sapdba or brtools.
execute sapdba or brtools and follow the menu options(its quite straight forward)
or you can do it through sqlplus with the command
    ALTER TABLESPACE PSAPEL46DD  ADD DATAFILE '/path of the file ' size xxxM;

  • Increase Table Space

    Hello Guys.
I need to know to which table space I need to add space if I want to make a copy of a cube that aprox. stores 33 GB of data.
My infocube refers to the following table spaces:
    PSAPDIMI
    PSAPBTABD
    PSAPFACTD
    PSAPFACTI
My question is, I have to increase 33 GB of storage in each table space ??, or how can I determine what table space is going to require more space.
And I also need to pass data to an ODS, so I imagine I need to increase tables:
    PSAPODSD
    PSAPODSI
But how many GB do i have to increase in each table space to ensure a successful load of data from the original cube to the ODS ???.
    Thanks in advance.

    Guillermo,
It would be better to analyze the same in this fashion:
Tables in the Cube - Fact / Dimension etc
The the size for the same ( maybe through DB02 / DB02old ) and find the tablespace in which this resides and accordingly increase the space.
Also you would need a lot of archive log space - usually depending on the log generation - Archive logs can be upto 10 times the amount of data being loaded...
Also budget for the space for the DSO - it will be less that the compressed cube but still not less by a very big margin....

  • How to Access Table Space Map in Oracle 10g OEM

How and from where to Access Table Space Map in Oracle 10g OEM ??
    Thanks

    Hi,
first of all, the online help system of grid control is outstanding. Just click on Help in the upper right corner and enter "Tablespace Extent Map" in the search form.
    Result:
    Show Tablespace Contents Page
Each Oracle database is divided into one or more logical units called tablespaces. You can use Oracle Enterprise Manager to manage these tablespaces and create or modify the parameters for the tablespaces. Use the Tablespace property sheet to set general and storage information for the specified tablespace.
Use the Show Tablespace Contents page to display the list of tablespace segments that comprise the existing tablespace. You can display Tablespace Extents by choosing Show Tablespace Extent Map at the bottom of the page. An extent is a logical unit of database storage space allocation made up of a number of contiguous data blocks. One or more extents in turn make up a segment. When the existing space in a segment is completely used, Oracle allocates a new extent for the segment.
You can view segment extents by clicking on the link in the Extents column to display the Extents in Segments page.
You can display the Show Tablespace Contents page by choosing Show Tablespace Contents from the command drop down list on the Tablespace property page, the Tablespace View page, or the Tablespace search results page.
Note: Developers could only display the tablespace map to a maximum hard coded number of 30,000 extents. Tablespaces are often larger than that. If a tablespace is larger than 30,000 extents, the portion over that is displayed as Unmapped. To avoid exceeding the memory capacity of the tablespace map and to display the map without unmapped extents, use a search criteria displaying results of less than 30K extents.
For an overview of tablespaces, see the "Overview of Tablespaces " chapter of the Oracle Database Concepts Guide.
For more information about managing tablespaces, see the " Managing Tablespaces" chapter of the Oracle Database Administrators Guide.
For more information about managing datafiles, see the " Managing Datafiles and Tempfiles" chapter of the Oracle Database Administrator's Guide.

  • How to increase "available space"

Hello.  I'm on my first Mac and have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and want to upgrade to Mtn. Lion.  It says that it requires 2GB of memory, which I have, and 8GB of "available space."  I have 6GB.  Does Apple have a snappy way to increase "available space" that does not require opening the computer up?  Thank you.

    iStuckagain wrote:
Thank you all for your help.  Your answers made me cringe, and since I was cringing so much that I decided to go back and look at the numbers and I have to apologize: I gave the wrong number for disk space.  (Feeling like a dork right about now.)
My computer comes with two 2GB (banks) of DDR3 memory, so the memory is 4GB.  I got some help learning about and locating the Applications>Utilities>Activity Monitor>System Memory section and found that I have 1.82 GB free, 641MB wired, 1.42GB active, 139.7MB inactive, and 2.18 GB used.  Adding free and used gives 4GB total memory, and so I think I do have just under 2GB free.  I will check out both places you listed, Eric Root, and I will get, as you suggested, Csound1, as much RAM as my computer permits.
And regarding "disk space," I don't have 6GB, I have 640GB!  I looked a few tabs over and found that my disk usage is 333.92GB utilized and 305.87GB free, so it looks like I have 640GB (650, but 640 useable?) of disk space in total and that just over half is being used.
I'm sorry for the poor researching in my original post, but I'm pretty new to the inner workings of computers.  That's just where I am right now.  It appears that the memory I thought I had enough of, I need more of, and the disk space I thought I was out of, I have plenty of!  Jeez.  Anyway, I appreciate the help from all of you and I will take care of that RAM problem pronto   .
    You're welcome

  • How to increase footnote space?

    Hi!
I am working on a piece of text in Indesign CS6. The text contains the work at the top and a commentary to the work in the footnote area. The commentary is quite lengthy, thus there are many footnotes for just one paragraph. The opening paragraph to the work has approx. 12 footnotes on its own.
Unfortunately, Indesign has made half of the work that was originally on the page go onto the next page as there are too many footnotes at the bottom. This has left a whole load of space, and I have noticed this on all pages. That Indesign automatically shifts text onto the next page when a certain amount of the footnotes are inserted. Does anyone know how I can get rid of this limitation and put in unlimited amounts of footnotes on every page of the document? Increase the amount of space for footnotes?
Thanks in advance for all the help !

The short answers is you can't increase ID's space for footnotes.  Unlike certain word-processors, InDesign will begin a footnote only on the page where the note's reference falls in the main text.  Thus if you have 3 footnotes in one line, for example, there's a good chance ID will push that line to the next page and leave a gap on the preceding page.
If your commentary is very lengthy then ID's footnotes simply may not work well: you may need to put the commentary in a separate story running through a separate set of frames on each page -- a task all too familiar to PageMaker veterans.   Once you get going the work isn't as tedious as you might think, plus you get more flexibility: with a page big enough for two columns, you can put notes in the outer column, and encroach on the bottom of the main-text column as necessary.

this OS level view. As you can see tha your /oracle/DEV/sapdata4 (usually this is where your SAP production data reside) is almost full, 84%. Consider of increasing logical volume lvol26.
Oracle tablespace is marked with PSAPxxx. You can check via tcode DB02, then click Current Sizes button.

  • How to increase work space area in report? Lanscape mode?

I see...some of report got wider area....it creates report printable in landscape mode..
how can i increase workspace?...i want wider workspace...i don't know, how to do that.
    Please help.

    Hi
To change the page to a larger size in CR, change the printer setup of the report file by selecting a different paper size. (Click File > Printer Setup)
For example, you can change the paper size from 'letter' to 'legal' to increase the paper height from 11 inches to 14 inches.
The options available in the Print Setup dialog box are dependent on the paper sizes that your printer driver supports. Different printers have varying page size options.
Hope this information is useful to you.
