Hello larry76,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're receiving a couple of problems with your Officejet 6700 Premium. Please make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector.
I would suggest following this HP document on A 'Cartridge Problem,' 'Ink Cartridge Failure,' or 'Incompatible Ink Cartridges' Error. Even if you're not receiving this type of error messages, this document does provide useful troubleshooting steps.
Also, try resetting the printer.
Please post your results, as I will be looking forward to hearing from you.

My 6700 printer shoots out extra blank pages when printing with excell 2010. when it finishes my print job it slowely send out one extra blank page. There is only one page in the file

Hi , Welcome to the HP Support Forums!  I see that blank pages are printing out after you print to your HP Officejet 6700 Printer. I would like to assist you with this. In order to assist you better, I may require more information. What operating system are you using? Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer? What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer. If you're using Mac OS try this fix, Critical HP Print Driver Update.  Note: This update is not printer specific. If you're using Windows OS try these steps, Printing an extra (blank) page after printing a single page. Posted by another community member Bill_3297. I have found something that seems to work.  At the end of this process you will be asked to reboot your computer, so probably best to do this when you are not under deadlines and/or with multiple programs open.   You need the HP OfficeJet Pro 6700 installation disk to do this.   Insert the disk in your BlueRay/DVD/CD drive and be sure it is active. Then go to Control Panel>Programs and Features.  Find "HP Officejet Pro 6700 Basic Device Software".   RIGHT CLICK on the program.  A context menu for Uninstall, Change, Repair will appear.  Left click on "Repair".  The program took about 5 seconds on my 3770K.   After the repair program runs it asks to reboot the computer for the changes to take effect, either now or later.  I tested the repair by printing several Word 2010 files that had been printing an extra page about 10 seconds after the print was completed.  I tested as Print Current Page, Print Selection, Print, Print All Pages, Print Custom Range.  It seems to have fixed the problem. Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you. Good Luck!

    how to scan and email
Scan-to-email app with Officejet 6700 Premium printer - attachment does not come through

    Hi
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I see that you are unable to use the scan to email feature of your Officejet 6700 printer because you are getting an unable to connect message.
There are several steps I would like you to try please.
    Please turn off your printer.
Please turn off your router.  If your router doesn’t have an on/off switch, please unplug the power cord from the router.
After waiting a full 60 seconds please turn on your router (or plug it back in).
After the router has completed its startup routine please turn on your printer.
After the printer has completed its startup routine, please test the scan to email feature.  If it works there no need to continue with any further trouble shooting steps.
Please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer. I have included a link to another post with the steps, including screen shots on how to do this.   Don’t worry that the screen shots show a Officejet 8600 printer, the steps are the same.
Please test the scan to email feature.  If it works there is no need to continue with any further trouble shooting steps.
Please call HP’s Cloud Services at 1-855-785-2777 if you live in the USA/Canada region. If you live outside the USA/Canada region please click here to find the Technical Support number for your country/region.

  • Dissatisfied with HP Office jet 6700 Premium Printer

I've had a HP Office Jet 6700 Premium Printer for 18 months and have encountered a failed printer head issue which essentially requires full replacement of the printer.  I've seen many other similar reports by others which clearly indicates this printer has a serious problem with the printer heads.  I'm getting ready to replace this printer, which is just 6 months out of warranty, and will seek another vendor to provide printing equipment.  Very disappointed in HP's printer product and will gladly provide input to help others avoid running into this problem.

Please read this post then provide some details.   What operating system?  What are the error messages on the printer or computer screen?

  • HP Officejet wont print in black and white!

I have had an HP OfficeJet 6600 printer for a couple of years now and it has shocked me how many times I have had to replace color cartridges that I really never use.  I am a high school teacher who does a lot of work from home and I only need to print in black and white, yet I am not permitted to do that because everytime a color runs out, I cant use my printer AT ALL.  This comes off as a scheme for HP to make more money because everytime this message comes up, I am offered the oppurtunity to buy color cartridges at a high price.  I will never be buying another hp product again!

HP and other printer manufacturers have different printer technologies for different needs.  For inkjet printers:
Some have printheads built into the ink cartridges.  These printers can typically print with one or more of the colors completely empty, or even with color or black (but not both) cartridges removed. The Officejet 8040a is an example.
Other printers have separate ink supplies and replaceable printheads.  An example would be the Officejet 6600 printer.  The printhead in these printers can be replaced if they are damaged by running the printhead with colors out.  Some of these printers will allow printing with a color out, other will not.  If the printer is run without ink in one or more colors the printer may be damaged, but the user may be able to recover without having to send the printer for service.
Other printers have permanent printheads.  To run these without some ink in all the colors would risk causing damage to the printhead due to clogs, air ingested in the printhead or burned out printhead firing resistors. The Officejet 6700 is an example of this type of printer. For printers with fixed printheads this could require service to get the printer to print properly again when the ink is finally replaced.
The document here describes how ink is used.  While the document is written for HP Inkjet printers the same principles apply to inkjet printers from other manufacturers.
If you never print in color a laser printer would likely be a better choice.  If you occasionally print color but mostly black an IPH printer like those in the first category above may be a good choice.

  • Device Manager reported driver missing for Officejet 7310 printer

I used the full-feature install software downloaded from HP site to setup an Officejet 7310 printer on a Lenovo T540p laptop with Windows 8.1 64-bit OS.  The install and the printer appear to work correctly as I can print and I can also scan from the HP Solution Center utility.  However, the Device Manager reports two errors/anomolies as follows.
Under the "Multifunction adapters" entry the Officejet 7300 series Properties shows the Device Status as:
This device is disabled. (Code 22)
Click Enable Device to enable this device.
Under the "Other devices" entry theOfficejet 7300 series Properties shows the Device Status as:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.
I find this a bit baffling as I believe the install software is supposed to include the driver(s), plus the printer seems to function (which could be due to default Microsoft drivers).
Any thoughts on how things got in this state and how to recover would be deeply appreciated as I prefer to not "ignore" the error messages.
    Thanks,
    Glenn

Yes I was able to remove the USB instance and rename the network-connected printer instance as the sole printer.  I thought that should work, but I was a bit paranoid given the other weird things that happened with the package install.
I'm good to go; thanks again.

The latest Vista drivers for this printer on THIS page shows one of the enhancements as supporting Windows 7. So it should install fine. Do notice that this is the v.13 software.
EDIT: Just downloaded the version 13 software, and tried installing it. It seemed to go through fine, though I don't have the printer physically here. Check the screenshot.

  • How do I print standard 6 3/4" standard size envelopes from an hp 8600 officejet pro printer?

How do I print 6 3/4" standard size envelopes from an hp 8600 officejet pro printer. This printer has this size on the tray and has this size listed in the printer set up on the printer, but the drop down boxes from my computer to set up the printer do not have this standard size listed. I keep getting messages on my printer that it is not set for the right size. I have a list of supported envelopes and their numbers for this printer but which one of these other numbers is the same as the 6 3/4" standard size envelope. I have an operating system of windows 7 with an older version of publisher. Everything else prints ok from publisher & the printer, just not the standard size envelopes of 6 3/4".
    Please help!
    indy-girl

    Hi indy-girl,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see you are trying to print 6 3/4" envelopes from your HP Officejet Pro 8600, but keep getting an error 'printer that it is not set for the right size'. After taking a look at the Supported envelopes sizes, the 6 3/4 is not supported. See below:
I was able to take a look at the 8600, the only thing I am seeing listed on the paper tray is Legal/Letter, and the 4x6". I am not seeing the 6 3/4 size.
    I hope this helps!
    Thanks,
