HP 7210 All-in-One clock
Is there some way to sync the 7210's clock with the usb connected PC? The clock gains a minute every couple of weeks and it's a pain to have to reset it frequently. Thanks for any ideas!
Looking over the menus and options I do not see a way to readily sync the clock short of manually fixing. The could be a workaround that I am not aware of but it does not seem readily available, sorry .
Best of Luck!

I have an HP OfficeJet 7210 all in one printer, have loaded Printer Pro and had a successful test while in Printer Pro. When I try to print and email I get NO AIR PRINTER message, How can I connect my printer to my IPad and print emails.
Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
If you're using the Printer Pro app, you're not going to use AirPrint services.
They are not the same thing.
Are you using the 'Open In' option to get the email into Printer Pro for printing?
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/printer-pro/id393313223?mt=8
Once installed, Printer Pro appears in the "Open In..." list on your device. This lets you print documents from Mail, Safari, ReaddleDocs and many other applications on your iPad that supports this function.
Using "Open In..." approach you can print files from many popular online storages: Dropbox, MobileMe iDisk, GoogleDocs. It just a matter of several taps to download your file via free Dropbox, iDisk or Google Docs application and send it to printer. -
Fax issue with HP OfficeJet 7210 All-in-one
Hi everyone,
I've got an issue with my HP OfficeJet 7210 All-in-one printer/fax (USB connection)
I'm under Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).
When I was under Tiger, my printer/fax worked properly.
After the upgrade to Leopard, the printer/fax was still installed (HP 7210 was displayed as installed in the printer list of the System Preferences).
The printer works fine but the fax doesn't ! An error consistenly occurs when I try to send a fax.
Thus, I decided to uninstall every HP components from my Mac. Then I proceeded a fresh install of the CD software/driver I received with my printer/fax.
During the installation, I get an error : "HP AIO TRAP has quit". I went further and continue the installation till the end by ignoring the problem.
The printer is still working fine but I'm unable to install my fax in the System Preferences because the fax simply doesn't appear either on the "Fax" tab or on the "More printer" tab.
Only an unuseful "Bluetooth" fax appear, I can install it but it's impossible to send a fax with it : http://users.cybernet.be/ptsalos/hp-leo1.png
In the "More printer" tab I got this : http://users.cybernet.be/ptsalos/hp-leo2.png ... It seems that no fax are detected (no fax are displayed in "HP AiO Télécopie" and the "Add" button is gray).
I hope you could help me !
PS: the fax works properly under Bootcamp with Windows XP PRO SP2
Thank you very much.

I will stop posting if this gets abused (even once).
If you have an HP OfficeJet 7310 or 7210 printer, go to HP.com/support, tell it you have a 7410, and download the installer (follow my instructions on the [Beta Announcement|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1252889&tstart=0 ] thread if you need more details.
Now follow these instructions:
Step 1: Run the installer, and follow the onscreen prompts.
Step 2: When the screen comes up to select your printer, check the box my printer isn't listed and continue.
Step 3: On the next screen select the OfficeJet 7400 Series and continue.
Step 4: Select the type of connectivity to your device.
Step 5: Install the software (this may take several minutes).
Step 6: When you get to the Setup Assistant, skip it. Make sure you de-select the two checkboxes before you continue otherwise it will remind you every time you log in.
Step 7: Go into the Print & Fax System Preference and manually add your print queue.
Step 8: Go into the Print & Fax System Preference and manually add your fax queue.
Step 9: Start using your device.
Congratulations, you now should have a fully functioning device under Leopard. So what won't work with this work around:
1) The documentation on your device will be wrong.
2) If you did not previously set up a station ID for the fax, one will not be set.
3) Device Manager will not know anything about your device so the functionality there will be pretty useless (most stuff can be done through other means though). However if you already have a Tiger install, even this should (theoretically work).
4) Good question, if you run into any other issues post them here, I may have forgotten something.
WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!
Please install the final drivers when they come out, and preferable the beta drivers too for your device too! Just because things are working for you does not mean that this configuration is supported (its not) or that there aren't any known problems (there may be, we certainly don't test it) so please take caution and update when possible.
Just trying to help.

Need generic print driver for Officejet 7210 all-in-one on Windows 8.1
Updated my Windows 8 to Windows 8.1, which removed my print driver for an Officejet 7210 all-in-one. Attempted to reinstall. Error that file not found. Followed detailed process to a tee (deleted temp files, removed startup programs, everything). Driver doesn't work but printer does with other computers. Printer is no longer supported and no help (but is in great working condition).
I'm looking for a generic driver that would work with my printer and Windows 8.1. I really appreciate any help...

View Solution.Hi LChristofaro,
I have researched your error message and the Msiexec.exe error and it is an issue with windows installer. I recommend restarting your windows installer.
To do this:
1. Run "Services.msc" (without the quotation marks).
2. Double-click "Windows Installer" in the Services list.
3. Click Stop and click OK.
4. Click Start and click OK.
Restart you computer and try the install again.
Let me know if this helped.
Thank you,

I've had this printer for about 5 years, running on an XP system. I recently purchased a new computer running on Windows 7. Windows 7 found drivers to run the printer and it is up and going fine. However, I've lost the ability to scan with the printer. I have the old CD (version 4.7.1) but it's for XP. I can install that software to run my scans on the scanner part of the printer? If not, what are my other options?
This question was solved.
View Solution.Hey there scott77, Welcome to the Forums!
I noticed you purchased a new computer now running Windows 7 and you are looking for the Full Feature Driver and Software so you can have the scanning capabilities back as you did with your XP.
The great news is, you don't need the disk as there is a download available for you to use to install the software.
Click here to get started and just click Download: HP Officejet 7210 All-in-One Printer

7210 All-in-one with Windows 7 Draft print extremely slow
I have an Officejet 7210 All-in-One printer and a computer with Windows 7 32bit installed. I downloaded and installed the print driver for windows 7. Printing was working fine including fast printing. I changed the default color preference from "high quality" to "grayscale black only" and now my draft printing is extremely slow.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
jsin007Hi
The 7210 was always a good workhorse printer.
It may be that your slow printing issue is related to installing the Windows 7 driver. When the Windows 7 print driver was installed it may be that the Windows 7 installer did not remove the older print driver correctly. This may cause conflict issues which could possibly cause the slow printing you are experiencing.
I do have a link to a troubleshooting page for a printer not printing after the installation of the Windows 7 driver. It involves downloading a print driver removal utility & then re-installing the Windows 7 driver.

CAnnot get HP Officejet 7210 All-in-One to install
Have attempted to install numerous ways the HP Officejet All-in-One 7210, using both HP sent disc for WIN7, Download from HP and Download from Microsoft. Have even done a regedit of all 'HP' and fresh restart. This printer worked fine under WIN XP Pro but now with a fresh install of WIN7. It runs through the install but won't print. In checking the properties of the Printer it shows model #unavailable, scanner unavailable and under driver shows nothing. Can someone help?
This question was solved.
View Solution. How is the printer connected - USB or wired LAN? I would suggest you look in the CD for a util\ccc directory. In this directory should be a series of batch files, uninstall_L1.bat through uninstall_L4.bat. Disconnect the printer, then run the uninstall_L1, then uninstall_L2 and uninstall_L3 files. Next run the install program and do not connect the printer until prompted to by the installer.

7210 all in one, not printing properly
When printing it only prints half of the text (as you see now, but the bottom half of the words missing) i called an engineer out of the yellow pages and he said that there was a design fault with this all in one printer. Something to do with the pin in the print cartgidge area. He also said that this particular model of printer was recalled. Can you help?
Hello Spottydog,
The issue maybe with the cartridge ink or with the hardware of the printer. Let me provoide you the web document which will help us to resolve the issue.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00242768&dlc=en&product=391153
Open the above web link to an web document, follow the steps in the web document and print an self diagnostic page, then let us know the result how it printed or if the page is also missing the bottom text and then ink levels of the cartridges.
If the diagonistic page is not printed fine then the issue is with the hardware of the All-in-One printer. -

HP 7210 all in one printer installation error on windows 8.1 update
We recently got updated by Microsoft from windows 8 to 8.1. After that time, the scanning function did not work as it did before and the HP menu utility was different. I went through the HP Info service and it said the printer software was not fully functional. I then was told to download the latest hp install software for the 7210, which I did for windows 8/8.1. The install stops with a fatal MCI error code 1935. I then went to the troubleshooting guide for error codes (the example box shows almost an identical error message to mine) but it only shows windows XP, Vista, and 7.0. There is no troubleshooting guide for windows 8 or 8.1 with this code. I then followed the "HP Solutions for Install Errors (Windows 8.0 and 8.1) and performed all the tasks. I updated windows to current and same error. I then shut off all startup services and got the same error. I am now out of idea's or help.
The printer has been great and we have had no problem with it since we've owned it. At this time we are without a printer completely because the install process removed the previous installed software.
Forgot to mention this is using USB connection, but the install never gets far enough to ask me to connect it, so it really doesn't matter.
Any advice would be extremely welcome.
Thank you
JoeHi @DelanoJoe
I see you are getting a fatal MCI error code 1935 and the documentation specific to that code is not for Windows 8 or 8.1. I will certainly do all I can to help out
Please complete the following steps and let me know the outcome;
Hold down the Windows Logo key () on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box, type %temp%
Delete all files and folders from the temp folder. Choose skip if any pop ups appear saying any of the files could not be deleted
Download the software and choose to save as, save to desktop > AIO_CDB_Net_Full_Win_WW_140_408-4.exe
After the software downloads and extracts, open the temp folder again, use the instructions from step 1.
Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
Open folder Util
Open folder CCC
If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe
When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
Follow these steps to reset the registry settings and options for Windows Installer.
Hold down the Windows Logo key on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box
In the Open box, type msiexec /unregister, and then click OK.
Hold down the Windows Logo key on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box
In the Open box, type msiexec /regserver, and then click OK
*Note: there is a space between the c and the /
If you have any difficulty with this step, please use this link to perform it another way. Restarting Windows Installer
Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tool < How to Delete files using Disk Cleanup
Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

HP 7210 All-In-One Ethernet Port not working
The green Ethernet port light is not lighting and the computer can no longer find the printer. I believe it may have been damaged by a power surge during a lightning storm. I have checked the Ethernet cable that connects it and it is working fine with my laptop so it is not the cable coming into the printer. The printer works fine with the USB cable and all other printing, faxing and copying functions are working fine. Is it possible to repair or replace the Ethernet port?
I have also tried setting the IP address back to default and manually setting the IP address. The port is just not recognizing the cable.Jim B - First, thank you so much for helping me.
I was able to get the green port light to light-up by performing the steps 1 - 5 you recommended. Also the amber data light is on but not blinking. In fact now they both stay lit even when the cable is removed. When I use the same cable with my laptop the green light comes on and the amber light blinks.
Unforntunately, the printer is still not finding the IP address. I tried the function to "Restore the Network Defaults" and I also tried to manually set the IP Address. When I print the network settings it indicates the status is "Offline" and I have the following changes:

Duplex not recognised when sharing HP 7210 All-in-one using Remote Desktop
The HP 7210 is installed on a Windows 8/64 PC called Harmony.
Duplex unit is correctly detected and a logged on Harmony user can print duplex.
MSTSC is set up with printer sharing and a connection toa remote Windows 7/64 PC called Gerald.
A user logged on to Gerald sees the 7210 and can print.
However, the Duplex unit is not seen from the remote session so only manual duplex is available.
I also notice that in Printing Preferences on Harmony the default to Duplex does not 'stick'.
For example
1. Set the Fast/Economical printing profile to use the Duplex unit ('Print on Both Sides' set to Automatically).
Click Apply
2. Set the same for General Everyday Printing
Click Apply
3. Re-select the Fast/Economical Printing profile.
The 'Print on Both sides' setting has changed back to 'Off'.Generally this is a feature that has to be enabled through the software. If the printer is sharedm, then you will not likely be able to access the duplex options. I would install the printer on the computer you wish to duplex from and make sure that the feature is enabled thorugh the properties/preferences for the printer.

Officejet 7210 all-in-one duplex problem
Since connecting Officejet 7210 to laptop running Vista Business, the 2-sided printing accessory with rear tray is not recognised. I have been using the Deskjet 990C driver for 2-sided printing but it does not recognise the rear tray. Am unable to print photos using the rear tray, & when I try to load the 4x6 photo paper into main tray, the image will only print from the centre position of an A4 page, not the location when the tray is adjusted for the 4x6 (10cm x 15cm) stock. How can I enable the rear tray to feed the photo stock.
Is there an updated driver for the 7210 that supports the duplexer with rear tray or what other workaround can you recommend?
This question was solved.
View Solution.Since the duplexer and rear tray were optional on the Officejet 7210 the driver will default to them being "not installed". Go to the printers folder, right click on the 7210, Properties, Device settings, Installable Options and set the Duplex Unit and the Rear Tray to installed, Apply, OK.
Once this is done the rear tray should be accessible and you can try duplex printing. You will probably need a patch to correct the back side printing upside down when duplexing, this is available as described here.

No problem with printer until today. Suddenly error message appears. "Remove and check right cartridge." Of course, I did that, several times, but with no effect. No ideas?
Try the troubleshooting steps in this page. If the x-bais spring is dislodged as sown in Figure 11 then check the flex circuitry. If the flex is not damaged you may be able to use eopxy to put the x-bias spring back in place. If the flex is damaged as in (2) below you will need to repair or replace the printer.
