HP Deskjet F2400 printer not printing, prnt/backend/hp.c 625: ERROR: 5

Hi,
I tried to setup my printer with the ptal-init setup script, but it failed to communicate with the printer, this is the output of the command:

  • HP Deskjet 1510 will not print

    Hi Everyone,
I am not really tech savy so please be patient.
BEFORE I CONTINUE PLEASE NOTE I HAVE READ OTHER MESSAGES REGARDING THIS TOPIC HOWEVER I AM STILL AT A LOSS.
I have purchased a hp deskjet 1510 printer. I am having trouble printing from a word document or pdf file or a photo etc. I can photocopy however not print.
I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled. I have made sure that the printer is selected as the default printer etc.
If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanking you in advance.

I am having real problems as well. It will not let me set the 1510 as default printer, telling me its not part of hte network.
I have spend 3 hours looking through this site to find answers and not one person on this site has managed to get a satisfactory answer and an explanation what is wrong. All you keep getting told is uninstall it and it will be fine.
I've uninstalled, re-installed, installed, everything and nothing is working.
Can someone PLEASE sort out what is wrong and provide a proper solution which doesn't involved uninstalling and reinstalling software which should work when we buy the bloody machine.
If I don't get a fix its going back to the shop and I'll buy a canon or an epsom, because the 1510 as it sits is a complete waste of money if you cannot even get the sodding thing to work when you buy it.

  • Hp deskjet 1510 does not print photo without border.

    thanks.

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @horda ,
I read about how you are trying to borderless print on A4 size media and it's not working out so well. After checking the printer specifications (below), you can see that this model of printer does not support borderless printing.
I hope that helps clear up your concern!

  • My HP Deskjet 3520 will not print in black after replacing cartridge

I have just replaced all my ink cartridges in my HP DESKJET 3520 printer (it's wireless).  It prints in color fine, but not in black.  I've tried cleaning the print head, aligning the cartridges, checking the breather on the cartridges.  I've also just opened up another black cartridge, thinking maybe my new one was defective.  So now I've just wasted a cartridge.
so frustrated! My printer is more than a year old now to.  So no warranty.  when I click on the printer ink levels, it's recognizing I have full cartridges - but it's not printing in black at all.

  • My hp deskjet 9362c will not print in black and white/error message says the printer mode is set at

can not get my hp deskjet 932c to print in black and white.  error message states print mode in auto, but I can't find the print mode to correct.  printer was printing in black and white or color automatically til last night, then in middle of document quit altogether.  new cartridges get the same results.

Check the paper type settings.  If this is set to "automatic" and the paper type is detected as photo paper then black only print is not available.  (The black pigmented ink is not compatible with photo paper.)  What is your operating system?

I have tried to download HP Deskjet 2642 printer multiple times, however at the end of the installation, it tells me that the installation failed because the (path, or list of folders) doesn't exist or I don't have access to it. How do I fix this?!
A similar situation happened when I downloaded a game from a website that I paid for. It wouldn't let me open it because I was denied access to (some file).
    I have an XPS 18.

The only printer I could find with the information you provided is the HP Deskjet 400 C2462.
    A trip to the
Windows Compatibility Center shows that it is in fact supported by Windows 8.1, which is good to know before continuing.
Based on the error message you’re getting, it’s possible that the files are saving to a folder in which you don’t have the appropriate permissions to access due to not being an administrator.
You should try downloading your file(s) directly to your desktop, or even the Downloads or Documents folders.
Once they are completely downloaded, right-click on the file and select ‘Run as administrator’.
If you get prompted for administrative credentials you most likely aren’t logged in as an administrator.
Without being logged in as an administrator or providing administrative credentials, you won’t be able to perform tasks such as installing new software.

  • Deskjet D4260 does not work with an ethernet printer server

I am attempting to attach a Deskjet D4260 printer to a home ethernet network using a StarTech PM1115U printer server. The printer has been connected to the network through a desktop computer, and worked perfectly.  The printer server will also work with a different printer (Canon i550).  However, it doesn't work with the D4260.  The server's port will not go online, and it does not appear to recognize the printer.
This occurs regardless of OS (Windows XP, VIsta, 7, and 8 preview all don't  work).
StarTech says there is no incompatibility issue with the server and host-based LIDL printers in general or the D4260 in particular.  Does anyone know of any issues, or how to get the D4260 to work with this printer server?

Yes, that is how the instructions with the server tell you to install it.  The server is connected to the network via ethernet cable and the printer to the server via USB.  The server's instructions (as well as those given to me from StarTech support) say to install the printer as a local printer using a TCP/IP port using the server's IP address, which must be on the same subnet as the computer you are installing the printer on.  All this I have done.  There are a number of settings for the port.  It can be raw or LPR and there are other options.  I have attached it as instructed, and I have tried both raw and LPR, and tried various other settings.  I was able to install a Canon i550 on the server with no difficulties.  I was able to print to the printer, and the server, when I accessed it using either StarTech's server management software or a browser pointed to the IP address, showed the server's port on line and identified correctly the printer attached to it.  When I attach the D4260, however, it shows the port off line and does not identify the printer.  I got this server as a replacement for one that I bought without knowing that, according to its own documentation, it does not work with LIDL orinters.   StarTech did not have any such warning, and the StarTech support people said that there should be no problem with a LIDL printer.  They told me to consult HP support (to which this forum is the closest thing I can find).  It looks to me as if either there is something about the printer that needs to be reset, or the server does not work with this printer.  So far changing the driver does something, but not enough to print.

  • HT3669 I have an HP deskjet color printer that only prints in black and white from my mac ... how do I get it to print in color

I have an HP deskjet color printer that only prints in black and white from my mac ... how do I get it to print in color

Check the printer itself.  Some printers you need to set the color & B&W settings on the printer itself instead of the Mac.   If that is not the case w/your printer, contact HP tech support and/or post in their forums if they have one.
