HP Envy 700-030qe Windows 7 64 bit Drivers

Hi,
I purchased a HP Envy 700-030qe desktop
The computer came with Windows 8 preinstalled.
I'd like to downgrade it to Windows 7 64 bit, however HP website only has Windows 8 64 bit drivers available for download.
I tried it but it doens't run on Windows 7 64 bit.
I was only able to find Windows 7 64 bit drivers for Network Card and ATI.
I still need the rest in Windows 7 64 bit drivers for my HP Envy 700-059CB.  Can someone help?

  • Envy 700 w/Windows 8.1 Boots Past Advanced Start-Up Options Menu

I have an Envy 700 desktop with Windows 8.1.  I'm trying to install a non-signed driver. I've gone through the documented process that is supposed to bring up the Advanced Startup Options screen, however when I do the Re-start it boots right past it and to the HP logo and proceeds to boot right back into windows again.
In fact I can't even get it to the menu to boot into Safe Mode without going into Command mode, msconfig, and manually checking the box to start into Safe Mode.  Even then there's no way I've found to get to the Advanced Startup Options menu to stop doing signed driver checks.
Also I'm afraid some day if I have a real problem I won't be able to even get into Safe Mode.
Anyone have a solution...it must have something to do with the HP boot process not Windows.
    Thanks!

I was never able to get the Advanced Startup Options menu to display more than maybe half a second before it continued to boot.  I knew which menu item I wanted to select so just kept tapping the 7 key which is for disabling the driver signature checking and it did continue to boot as it has however my menu item did take affect so I was able to load my unsigned driver.
This issue has to have something to do with the HP routine I'm guess as it just blows right by the Advanced Startup Options to show the HP circle logo and boot normally.  Hopefully there's some ideas on how to actually fix this...thank you for your support!

  • Help with installing hp envy 700-214 pc series drivers

hi i just reformatted my pc and now i can't use it becuase the drivers are unavaible everywhere. hp use to have the windows 7 drivers for my pc on their webpage and took it down... which makes no sense..? my pc has no internet connectivity. i would download the drivers on my laptop and plug in a flash drive transfer them over and then plug my flash drive into my pc and download each driver that way. can anybody help me? will this be the last HP product i ever own..? i need drivers for windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.

Hi: Unfortunately, the support pages are not working for most of the newer HP PC's. It has been that way for about a day now. Since I am not employed by nor do I represent HP, I am not sure when they will have the pages working again. Check back again some other time. With the Independence Day holiday weekend in the USA, I would not expect this to be taken care of immediately.

  • HP ENVY 700-049 Won't Update to Windows 8.1 - 0xC1900101 - 0x20018

I recently purchased an HP Envy 700-049 desktop and have updated to the latest Windows 8.  I have re-downloaded and installed all of the Windows 8 drivers listed on the support page.  I disabled the wireless LAN in Windows (no way to do so in the BIOS that I can tell).  After all of that I went to the Windows App Store and ran the 8.1 update.  The machine reboots and begins to configure the devices, but stops prior to completion with the error SYSTEM_THREAD EXCEPTION NOT_HANDLED.
    On reboot I am given
    0xC1900101 - 0x30018
This is showing up in Google...and I tried common reccomendations (install updates, install latest driver, disable WLAN)... are there any additional suggestions or am I just going to have to hang tight on MS to fix this?
My wrist is getting tired from bouncing over to the quickbar. :-)

I am on 8.0, trying to update to 8.1.  I can't install the 8.1 drivers.  It is for all intents and purposes a new OS.  The 8.1 drivers clearly indicate to me that the OS is not at a compatible level "Your system does not meet the operating system requirements. Update has been cancelled. (9998)".
I did note that the intel onboard driver was not good, don't know where that fell by the wayside, but I re-installed the HP Win8 driver and things were good.
There are two graphics cards, onboard and radeon.  I updated the catalyst drivers too.
All of the HP drivers were up to date, all of the Windows Updates are installed.
I disconnected ALL devices except for the mouse and keyboard.
The drivers are installed fine for 8.0.  But the way that the windows 8.1 update is delivered is through the Microsoft App Store.  It downloads, installs and reboots.  There is a second reboot where it starts updating the drivers.  I know that it's a problem at that particular point, but without being able to isolate the driver that it's having a problem with...it's a crapshoot.
I researched a bit and looked at the winstore.log files, but nothing in there seems to indicate a specific driver...I think this is the log at the point where the update chokes...

I may keep troubleshooting, I think I may just clean out the app store cache and give it a try again.  There was a comment that I read that seems to indicate disabling file sharing settings can resolve the issue.  I also saw a suggestion on downloading the preview and then updating from that.  This is a fairly new box (at least to me), and it's running fine otherwise...but I would like to get 8.1 running to get the integrated tools.  Worst case scenerio I could just download from DreamSpark and reinstall.

  • HP Envy 700-214 Fails to install windows 10

Earlier this Year, I purchased an HP Envy 700-214 PC 64 bit, with Windows 8.1 that also provided a recovery partition. I have tried to upgrade to Windows 10, from the Windows Upgrade process, which failed 3 times. I then used the Media Creation Tool to download the 64bit iso from Microsoft, when I then burned to a DVD as an image. From my running 8.1, I accessed the DVD drive and ran the setup.exe. It ran through the who initial process of downloading updates and checking the PC for problems and space, It then gave me the options to upgrade and save my personal data. I then clicked on Install, which ran until about 25% completed. I then received a message that the install failed, without a hint of why it failed. I am just about ready to give up and stick with 8.1, as I have never seen such a mis-managed software process as this upgrade in my entire life.....

Hello, Have you used any third party partitioning/cloning software to change partitions sizes or installed an SSD and used partitioning software to clone the OEM factory image to the SSD? The Win 10 upgrade may fail if this is true. On another note the following article by Ed Bott may provide a solution. We know you must upgrade first to tie your device to an activation code so you can install Win 10 on the device again. Ed Bott provides a method for installing Win 10 cleanly that also activates during the installation process. Note, your current Win 8.1 install must be properly activated in order for Win 10 to activate properly. Try setting UEFI (BIOS) settings to defaults before attempting the clean install procedure described by Ed Bott in the above article.  Have a recovery option available if this fails. This method is going to require installation of all software you have installed now on Win 8.1.  You will be nuking Win 8.1 and starting fresh with Win 10. If it fails you will have to reimage Win 8.1 using a Microsoft Recovery Drive and a good system image stored on external backup drive, third party backup software, or use HP recovery discs to go back to the factory image. Backup the SWSETUP folder on current Win 8.1 installation to use to install HP software on Win 10. You also have Win 10 drivers at your PC's software and driver download site available if you have any driver issues after the Win 10 upgrade completes. Lastly, are you using a wireless keyboard or mouse? If so, try the upgrade or the clean install method (per Ed Bott) using wired peripherals. I have not seen any tips on this but it might help by limiting complexity. Did you run the compatibility checker tool included in the" Get Windows"notification program located near the system clock? Tom

  • How to downgrade from windows 8.1 to windows 7 professional on Envy 700-329

I am fed up with the problems resulting from Windows 8.1, eg program incompatibility, Slow/no response in browsers, especially IE 11, forced to use touch-screen style interface on conventional monitor and so on and so on. I have a Windows 7 Professional 64 bit licence for my Dell Vostro laptop. Can I use it on my HP Envy 700-329 desktop to replace Windows 8.1?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Good morning.
    You're very welcome.
Only Pro versions of Windows are eligible for downgrade rights to the older versions of windows.
And the downgrade has to be performed by the PC manufacturer.
In other words, your PC would have a W8.1 Pro license, but W7 Pro would be preinstalled on it at the time of manufacture.
So you cannot purchase a downgrade license per se.
You will have to purchase a full retail or full OEM version of Windows 7 64 bit.
The difference between retail and OEM is that the retail version can be transferred to another PC as many times as you want provided it is used on one PC at a time, and as you read, the OEM version cannot.
The retail version of Windows cost about double the OEM version of Windows from what I recall.

  • Windows 8.1 Pro Bitlocker with HP Envy 700

I just got a new HP Envy 700-249. I upgraded to Windows 8.1 Pro immediately for Bitlocker and Remote Access. The PC will be stored in a relatively unsecure location and is for public use - but will have a few users who have access to install software, store private files, etc. SO I want to be sure that the OS stays safe as well as the data.
I want a way to keep someone from accessing anything on C drive that isn't in the Public folders and make the drive unable to be viewed if booted from anything other than itself. So I figured BitLocker. I've gone into gpedit.msc and set option to allow bitlocker without TPM. BitLocker runs and allows me to turn on encryption. I've tried a couple of types of USB drives and BitLocker says it has saved the key to them. I've checked and they have a BitLocker recovery file on them.
BUT - when the system reboots, it will not recognize the USB drive as the key and will not encrypt the drive. I am stumped.
Has anyone gotten an HP non-TPM desktop to encrypt the OS and data drives with Win 8.1 Bitlocker? How?????

    Hi,
Bit locker was meant to encrypt entire physical drives.  Review this MS article.
I would suggest that you install a second hard drive and then move your sensitive files and documents to that physical hard drive and use bit locker to encrypt that hard drive.  If you are going to keep the key on an external device (USB flash drive) then make a backup copy in case the USB drive fails or is lost.

    Detail information:
    -  HP ENVY 700-210XT CTO Desctop PC
    -  One VGA port and one DVI-D port (used DVI-D to DVI-D cable to connect to second monitor)
    -  video card is a buildin card on motherboard
    -  Two monitors: AOC 10X16, Acer 12X15 (with both VGA and DVI-D ports)  and both working perfectly if connected to computer thru VGA cable.
    -  When start computer, both monitors showing 'HP' and circle of stars to indicate Window is starting (so I think DVI-D connection and is fine).
    -  Then second (DVI-D) monitor shows no signal and VGA monitor continues and everything is fine.
    -  If I go to Devices/Project/Second screen and choose any of the options: Duplicate/ExtendSecond screen only, nothing shows.  After awhile, system says can't find second monitor.
    Questions:
    1) if it is OK to use two different kinds/sizes of monitors?
    2) what else I can do to make the computer to use the DVI-D monitor?
    Thanks,
    Ning

    Hi,
If you can't see the basic HP UEFI boot menu information with a DVI connection then you have a hardware issue. It's either your monitors or DVI cable or the DVI port on your PC. It's definitely not a software issue as digital drivers don't get loaded until later in the Windows boot process.
Test the monitors and the DVI cable on another PC to ensure that they work correctly.  Alternatively, try a different DVI cable and monitor on your PC.

Will you be releasing 64-bit drivers for the ScanJet 6200c?

Vuescan worked beautifully and without a hitch on Window 7 64 Home Premium.
The price was $39.99. It provided integration with my apps such as Word 2003, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and others.
    The Vuescan interface is acceptable.

  • Color Laserjet 4500 on Windows 7 - 64 bit Share with XP - 32 bit Need Additional 32-bit Drivers

    Here's the setup:
Desktop: Windows 7 Professional - 64 bit with Color Laserjet 4500, shared, connected and working fine. The name of the driver is HP Color LaserJet 4500 PCL 5.
Laptop: Windows XP Professional - 32 bit.
No network problems. Laptop sees the printer, but can't connect without the correct additional 32-bit drivers installed on the desktop. The only drivers I've been able to find are listed here. When I try to add under host printer properties/sharing/additional drivers, none of the downloaded .inf files are accepted.
Since Windows 7 installed a perfectly good 64-bit driver, there must be a compatible 32-bit driver that cab be added to allow the XP laptop to connect to this printer- but I have not been able to find it!
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

I would suggest installing the PCL6 driver on your XP machine, then on the XP machine do the following:  Start, Settings, Printers and Faxes, Add a Printer, Next, Local Printer, Next, Create a Port, Local Port, \\Computername\Printername (use the actual share name for the computer and printer), OK, Have Disk, point to the directory where the driver was installed (default C:\clj4500pcl6win2kxp).

  • 32 bit ATI Windows 7 drivers for the tm2t?

    Hi,
I'm trying to get my 32-bit (I need 32-bit because I have some other devices which only have 32-bit drivers) Windows 7 (fresh install) on my tm2t to work... but HP's "32-bit" Radeon drivers located here fail to install:

BTW this isn't a new problem. I wished I had known it existed before and perhaps I would have avoided the tm2t and went for the X200t as has this other person (it seems he gave up on HP and returned the tm2t... so HP this is affecting your sales)...

    Hi,
For those who are in the same boat as me (and having NO follow up support from HP   ) Here is a tip, download and install the most recent 32 bit Vista/Win7 ATI Mobility drivers. This current version does (finally!) have the support for the Radeon HD 4550 (9555). Here's the link:
    https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206/0/www2.ati.com/drivers/mobile/10-7_mobility_vista_win7_32_dd_cc...
However this is just a partial fix. The switchable graphics does not work since this is the generic driver set from ATI. If anyone has a clue on how to hack/install the required stuff in please post here! Otherwise we'll need to wait on HP to provide this. HELLO HP?!

  • S206 Windows 8 64-bit drivers: Not a smooth install

I've just taken the plunge for Windows 8 via the upgrade offer, but seeing as I already got a copy for my desktop PC with the 64-bit disc included, and that the S206 I bought came preinstalled with 4Gb of RAM (almost half of which is unusable in a 32-bit environment), I decided to boot from the 64-bit disc through an external USB DVD rewriter and install fresh. I had previously made sure that the Lenovo support site had Windows 8 64-bit drivers available.
Well, was I in for a shock.
First of all, practically every installer tried to extract to the C:\Drivers folder, dumping all the files in a single subfolder with no hierarchy. Then it tried to access the individual files from sub-subfolders which didn't exist. The only way I could get them to install was to create the folders it was missing as the error messages cropped up, dump a copy of the driver files into those folders, click retry, and repeat until it said it was done.
Secondly, the Catalyst drivers didn't find any graphics card. I downloaded the latest version from the AMD website, and that picked it up fine.
Thirdly, when I installed the audio driver, it said that the device I had was not the one that the drivers were intended for, and it would install generic drivers instead.
Fourthly, the Lenovo energy management program defaulted to the balanced profile which was the only one to totally disable the backlight to the LCD screen. Boy did that one take some time to sort out.
Fifthly, installing the wireless and Bluetooth driver seems to have not added in Bluetooth. I'm fairly sure it had Bluetooth to start with. The network adapter is still using the Microsoft driver.
Sixthly, the webcam does not appear in my devices list. Skype can't see it at all. Neither driver supplied on the website can actually find a device. I have just had the laptop back from repair due to a faulty keyboard, and I've not actually had a need to test it before now so I wonder if it maybe was left disconnected or maybe the camera in the screen frame is a dummy - I may have to restore the old Windows 7 operating system to check that...
Finally, when I tried to install the Synaptics touchpad drivers, clearly marked as 32 and 64 bit in a single installer, the installer told me it's not designed for a 64-bit system and told me to get the correct version from my vendor! The Synaptics website doesn't have Windows 8 drivers up yet.
So basically the default drivers leave the PC in a working condition but I currently have no Bluetooth, no webcam, I'm stuck on either high or low performance energy management, basic audio with no options, basic touchpad with no configuration.
So, for Lenovo: Your drivers leave a lot to be desired and need reviewing.
For other users: If you want to adopt 64-bit Windows 8, prepare to spend a lot of time fiddling with drivers.
For anyone with more knowledge than me: Can anyone suggest how I might get the above hardware fully functional?

After seeing that Lenovo have updated some of their installers, I decided to give it another go and see if I could get 64-bit Windows 8 on it.
First hitch, it was a bit of a struggle getting the computer to recognise the USB DVD drive. In the end I had to plug it into the USB2 port (The not-blue one), go into BIOS, save and exit and immediately go back into BIOS before it would be recognised as hardware.
It seems Lenovo overhauled all their installers, because they all extracted with the correct folder hierarchy. The only problem was with the "WLAN Driver and Bluetooth Driver (Ralink, Atheros)" (0swg11ww.exe) which totally failed to find the correct target installation executables after extraction. Also I'm sure this laptop had bluetooth connectivity but it didn't find any bluetooth hardware, but I'm not bothered too much about that as I use Logitech devices with unifying recievers anyway. When I finished installing them manually I checked on a tip-off I read elsewhere on these forums that the installer keeps the computer using the Microsoft driver, rather than switching to the Broadcom driver. I told it to change drivers (Some fiddling about in Device Manager) and it works fine.
Lenovo Energy Management still installs with the "Balanced" profile having zero backlight brightness, totally out-of-line with the other two profiles. I note that while the RSS feed says Lenovo Energy Management was updated on 29/11/2012, the download page says the latest version available is the initial 24/10/2012 release. Also the WLAN/Bluetooth driver was supposedly updated on 09/01/2013 but the download page says the latest revision was released on 09/12/2012, and when I installed the AMD Catalyst graphics drivers (supposedly v8.0.881.0) it actually installed the latest version (v12.10).
Clearly in the case of the Catalyst drivers the page hasn't been updated to reflect the updated driver release, but the on the other hand Lenovo Energy Management software doesn't appear to have been updated at all. At least I have a copy of all the install files now though, so I can tell if anything does change by inspecting file sizes.
The computer is now in as useable a state as I would like it however, and this time it was for the most part a fairly smooth install.
