HP G6000

Hi.
I have a HP G6000 notebook and the internal microphone isn't working (as in Windows isn`t detecting it). Tried looking through the HP site for drivers but couldn't find any that worked.
Got Windows 7 Ultimate installed.
And this if it helps:

Thanks in advance.

Hi @PaulC2014 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue with your HP G6065EA Notebook and the microphone not working. Here is a document on using microphones. At the bottom of the selection you will notice a link to using a Windows sound recorder to test the Microphone. This is where I would start.
Hope this helps you out,
Thanks.

  • HP G6000 Overheating

Hi, I have a two year old HP G6000 that's been getting steadily hotter. I opened it up last week to replace the thermal gel and clear out the dust - but it's still hot!
I've checked and the battery's not on the recall list, Speedfan gives me these temperatures:
    GPU 64C
    HDO 53C
    Temp1 70C
    Core 50C
And when I open a memory heavy app
    GPU 69C
    HDO 51C
    Temp1 70C
    Core 58C
I don't know how to interpret these results - any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hello,
I decided to sacrifice a little bit of performance for the sake of cool temperatures and silent fan. I have HP DV6, with AMD Turion RM-74 and HD4650.
So, Yes, You will loose up to 15 percent Your CPU power, but heyh, this processor is so fast that You will barelly notice the change. You will still watch HD content with 720p and everything else smoothly. Note, that gaming will be harder part but consider Your laptop not as a device created for heavy gaming.
At one point or another, during games, someday Your notebook inevitably colapse. It's just not meant for gaming, no matter what the specs are...
    No more overheating.
So, how to reduce Your notebook temps:
    (i) Power Options -> More power options,
(ii) Balanced plan -> Change settings,
    (iii) Change advanced power settings
(iv) Processor power management -> Maximum processor state -> On Battery - 50 percent, Plugged in - 85 percent.
    (vi) Save changes and close.
Now, mine temperatures are - idle 48, heavy load - 57, extremelly heavy load (HD 720p content) - 62-63. (At the moment my CPU cores are at 47 celsius).
CPU still works fast, not so fast as it is working on 100 percent, but hey, fan is silent, and if You want gaming - go to Your desktop pc, leave notebook for lighter tasks, even though the notebooks specs are high,
it simply cannot handle the heat.
    Best regards.

  • Where can I get a back to factory disc for a hp g6000 laptop

Where can I get a back to factory recovery disc for a hp g6000 laptop

    Hi:
If you live in the USA, click on the link below and enter the product number for your G6000 in the applicable box.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/siteHome?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us
Then click on the driver tab and select the driver version for the operating system that came installed on your PC--for example Vista 64 bit.
Then scroll down the page and there should be a link labeled Order Recovery Media.
The product number can be found on the same sticker as the serial number.

  • HP G6000 re booting problem and restore wont complete

    Hi
I have a HP G6000 which is my daughters machine. Been working ok but she tells me last night that its broken and keeps restarting. Tried hard reset etc but same thing.
So i decided to back up data by booting to safe mode and copying her stuff to external hard drive. Then proceeded to do a factory restore from the reapir partition. This loads and the machine sat their al night whilst it did this without doing any rebooting or problames etc. Anyway when i hit the finish tab it reboots trys to load windows and then hit me with a error message (presumably whilst it tries to finish the install) about a parse error. I have had a number of different error messages about failed installation etc but so far been unable to repair the installation.
I have run both the bios memory checks and HDD checks and the aslo the HP versions on the restore partition. Both say passed all tests.
Can anyone provide some guidance on what is going wrong?
    Thanks
    Kevin

A video driver isn't going to cause F11 not to work or to not finish the recovery. If the F11 is not working to the point of getting back to the original desktop in a factory state, then it is a deeper issue.
Look at it this way. An F11 recovery restores the C: image from the recovery image (D drive). The recovery image contains the exact same software the unit came with out of the box. If it was a software issue, such as the driver, the exact same issue would have been present from day one. I take it the system worked fine out of the box when it was first purchased.
I have seen this too many times and there are two things that will cause the parse error: hardware or corrupted partition (since this is where the F11 recovery gets the software from). Since you tried using the F11 and this is failing consistently and the two major hardware components that cause recovery issues has passed (memory and hard drive), I do not believe it is a driver issue at this point. My professional opinion and experience with these issues tells me that the recovery disks should take care of this issue. This is especially true if the error is occurring before you can get through the Windows setup (sounds like it is not getting to that point).
However, I will wait to see the result of your work IT person as I could be wrong.
To verify, the recovery was started with nothing but the battery and the charger cord?  Also, no keys were pressed once the recovery started until prompted?
    Let me know the result.

  • Hp g6000 compatible different motherboard

Hello, I've got an HP g6000 and also an hp compaq v6500. Both their motherboards have failed but they both look the same models from the outside. I am unable to find some decently priced second hand working motherboards for those models, although I have found a motherboard for a HP COMPAQ PRESARIO F700.
I have read somewhere that the f700 and the g6000 have the same motherboard.
Would someone please tell me if I buy 2 motherboards for the f700, will they fit and be compatible with all the components of a g6000 and v6500 casing?
    Thank you in advance
    Ed

    Hi Eddy1,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I would be happy to assist if needed. How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
I could give you the part number but to make sure it is the correct part that will fit your computer I would need the serial numbers for both so I could compare the specs. If you had the information for the New Motherboards that would be an asset as well. Please review the HP Privacy Statement . Then send it to me in  a private message.
    Please let me know.
    Thanks.

  • Product Specification or Technical Specification for a HP G6000 laptop?

Does anyone have or know where I might find the Product Specification or Technical Specification for a HP G6000 laptop? I'm particularly interested in the hard drive installed. My daughters laptop HD has crashed so I can't even boot it up to find the HD spec., and although I have removed it, I find it is a Toshiba HDD2D62 120GB Sata 2.5". I can't find a similar one anywhere or a website that provides a suitable compatible HD. Any suggestions anyone?

    Hi,
The laptop is probably a SATA I one so SATA (not SATA II)  hard drives should work on the laptop. I believe that any SATA hdd up to 160GB should work.

  • HP Pavilion Laptop G6000 - Format without working DVD drive

I have a HP Pavilion Laptop from the G6000 series which I bought about 3 years ago and has worked brilliantly until recently when the DVD drive was no longer recognised, after trying a number of online suggestions to fix it it was not showing up in the registry and so I decided to give up and I bought a usb drive which has been fine so far.  However, It has not been formatted since I bought it and is getting rather slow and I have managed to aquire a pop up / virus thing called click potato which is slowing it down further.  I want to format it and have all my files backed up on an external hard drive but without a working CD drive will it be possible to reboot (I've been told it wont recognise the USB one in this state?
I also don't have the original boot disks it came with but it has a "recovery" partition built in.  Is there anyway I can format and reinstall windows without this working equipment?
    Thanks

  • Hp g6000 dvd drive not detected in my computer, tried registry fix and still not working.

Hi i have a hp g6093ea laptop and for a couple of weeks now i have had my dvd drive dissapear from my computer.
i have the tried the registry thing where you delete the upper and lower filters and then restart laptop.
it worked then couple days later it  was gone  again.
i have removed the dvd from laptop and clean the connection and put it back still the same.
i was told to remove any burning programs and reinstall so i did that and the drive came back then after reboot went again.
the dvd drive ejects and has power and attempts to read the disk but its just not detected in my computer.
i have even been into the bios and put cd drive as boot first.,
then put my bootable xp pro disk in and it wont boot from the bios.
so i thought i would try an external drive to boot from bios, and it doesnt boot from there either.
i have had the drive randomly pop up in my computer and then after a restart it would be gone again.
so i cant put a fresh install on my laptop and  i dont know what else i can do.
    any help
    thanks

    How old is your laptop?
Have you had any other problems, besides the dvd drive, in the past few months?

  • Hp g6000 no longer working no start up can you help?

Laptop just switched off whilst working and will not restart. Is this fault repairable?

Sometimes electrical components needs to have all power sources removed and reintroduced to work properly.  Try performing a hard reset first, if it doesn't work then we'll move to the next step.
    To Perform A Hard Reset
Shut down the computer by going to the Start menu and selecting shut down. (If you have no display, hold the power button down for  5 seconds)
Disconnect the AC Adapter from the notebook.
Remove the battery from the bottom of the notebook.  There will be a switch/button to eject the battery.
Wait at least 1 minute with all power sources disconnected.
Re-insert the battery and reconnect the AC Adapter and then attempt to power on the notebook.

  • HP G6000 (G6062EA) WONT TURN ON.

    Hi all,
This laptop wont turn on at all. When its on battery the blue battery light is flashing as the battery is low and not charging and when you try to switch it on the battery light flashes 3 times and nothing else.
When its plugged in with the battery the battery, power button and power light flash for a brief second and nothing. I then have to hold the power button down or a while to drain the capacitors and when the battery is plugged in its the same thing all over again. The light at the side where the DC connection is made lights up ok but not sure if the problem is the motherboard or the DC Power/USB board which is seperate from the Motherboard. Also tried a different Power Charger and same thing.
This Laptop has only ran out off warranty on 19th July 2009 and I'm feeling pretty cheated.
Any help would be great guys.

Hi I had the same problem the board is not dead what so ever
First of all disconnect the main charer then remove the battery.
Under the lapop there should be a keyboard small sign next to the screw randomly in the middle and under the battery
remove the key board and there will be 2 ribbons on the left and 2 wires black and white (theys are the wifi antena wires) on the right. now the ribbons on the left 1 is connected to the power swirch and the other is connected to the speaker input.
the ribbon on the far right is the source of the problem! dissconect the bootom of the ribbon (connected the the board under the keyboard) slide it out clean it and with a small skinnt flat head scrape the connecter at the bottom of the ribbon down force way very chently and clean it with a tissue.. next blow out and dust from the actual board conecter input....
put the ribbon back in place stick only the mains in doesnt matter if the keyboard is dissconected as we are testing and then switch it on it should power up niceely
had the same problem with mine wouldnt turn on only flashing lishts this is due to that ribbon if it still dont work try slot it in and out while pressing the power bottn with the mains in dont worry you will not get electricuted as its low power ribbon...
and slide it in side ways the pointy end bit of the connecter apply it in and keep messing around i garentee it will work.
did the same and it powered just fine if you still get problems try dissconect the top part of the ribbon and clean it
if you still get a problem email me thanks or buy a ribbon.
if you need help removing the keyboard messege me.
yesalot of spelling mistakes im fast typing!
have fun it will work if your in the uk area london email me and i can repair it

  • Microphone very quiet even when fully turned up. speakers ok. hp g6000 notebook with windows 7

Have tried loading new driver but I am advised that I already have the latest driver for conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221.
Have also tried downloading sp.30399 but the problem persists,
I am the second owner of the machine but believe it originally ran under windows Vista when the built in microphone worked well and that it stopped working when he upgraded to windows 7.
    Can anyone help please?

BSOD's are never good. They point to a problem much bigger and deeper than any software issues.
When XP came out eleven years ago, people were astonished at how much processor it took to handle the GUI vs Windows 98. Processors an RAM have upgraded a lot since then. It was worse with VIsta, even on newer systems. Seven was a step in the right direction, but I'd guess that your old computer (your words, not mine) isn't up to the task of running Windows 7.
