Hp officejet J5780 parts

hello HP world , this is my first time here , i love HP products and i must say i am proud of their quality so far
i have a question needs an answer if possible and will be very thankful if it could help me .
i own an HP officejet J5780 all in one ( a true working donkey ) with no complains . i recently opened it completely apart and carefully super cleaned it along the motors and parts and its electronic boards ( using pure bristle brush ) to avoid any damage to the sensitive parts , however ? i discovered an odd part now that i am about to reassemble it ( i know one must say : with ? ) lol , so i need help to find which part is it and where does it fit before assuming things ; and my question is :-
where i can find a maintenance or complete diagram of its assembly ? thank you .

Hi Anunnaki-seed,
Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are looking for an assembly guide to the printer of its internal operation.
I am sorry to say but we do not have any such diagram.  I might be able to help if you were able to upload a picture of the piece in question.
The only other option would be to contact HP Total Care to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.
Thanks for your time.

  • Scanner won't save images after Mac os 10.9 update OfficeJet J5780

Have spent hours on this! Apple update and complete HP drivers offered through Apple do not fix the problem. CAn't find any fix on HP site, all lead back to apple, which appears to actually be the source of the problem. I can no longer save scanned images to my computer. This is crippling my ability to complete many important tasks. The Officejet has been flawless for years, don't want to buy a new one unless there is truly no fix. Thanks for any help offered.

    Hello ashley123,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
When you try to scan with the Officejet J5780 on Mac 10.9 and try to save to image, what happens? If you have already installed the HP printer driver package from Apple, I have a very limited amount of suggestions.
    With the said, these are my suggestion;
Reset the printing system, Mac OS X: How to reset the printing system.
Repair disk permissions (ignore the mention of only working on 10.7)
Add the print once again in the Printer and Scanners area from System Preferences.
If this does not allow the scan to save, you would be best to speak with Apple regarding a possible TWAIN issue.

  • Hp officejet j5780 ... wont print yellow

my hp officejet j5780 ... wont print yellow
I"ve tried cleaning & priming cartridge but doesnt help.

The lack of yellow in printing could have many causes. Is the yellow missing if you print a diagnostic page? If it is missing altogether is is probably the cartridge itself. If you have already cleaned and primed the cartridge, then the problem is with the cartridge. If the ink is not low, the nozzles may have dried out, if printing does not occur once a month or so. The power should only be shut off by the switch is possible, as shutting down the printer by unplugging the power cord does not protect the cartridges.

  • My HP Officejet J5780 All-in-One has stopped printing

My HP Officejet  J5780 All-in-One keeps sending the messge" Out of paper, load paper and  then press OK to start" even though I have paper already in my tray. It will not print and I don't know why. Can anyone please tell me what the problem might be to cause it to function this way and what I can do to fix it myself if at all possible? I would appreciate hearing from anyone that might be able to help me. Thank you and have a blessed day.Sincerely, Blesseda49

  • Officejet j5780 not queing smoothly

I just got a new Officejet j5780...my old one would print jobs one right after the other (I could send 20 separate printing jobs, and there'd be no pause in between...the printer would simply keep up with the workload). Now, with this new one, the printer "settles in" after each job, and then "spooles up" for the next job, stretching out the printing time by minutes.  What setting am I missing?  Also...the Solution Center comes up each time I need to fax, but the Fax button won't respond. I have to manually put in the fax number, or use Speed Dial. any suggestions?  Thank you!

It's resolved. It wouldn't find the printer by searching, so I manually entered the path.
    Example:  \\computername\sharedprintername

  • Officejet J5780 all in one

How many F*&^$*(#$#(*&$#(*& times am I going to have to install the software for this D*#$&#* machine???????????  This is the 6th or 7th time that I've had problems and HP's only solution is "reinstall the software".  The first time, I used the software that came with the product, but the fax didn't show up.  HP told me to download the latest software.  Did that and it showed up.  Things were fine for a couple of weeks.  Then, I tried to fax something (1 page from the computer and a couple in the tray).  A box came up that windows was trying to install the scan software and it was looking for a file in a temp folder that no longer existed.  It was looking for scan.msi (I searched and that file wasn't on my computer at all). Uninstalled, reinstalled, fax didn't show up (just printer).  Uninstalled, reinstalled.  All fine for a couple of weeks.  Go to send fax (again, pages from computer and pages in tray) and get the same error (windows trying to install scan software.  Only alternative to uninstall, reinstall software.  Same process at least another 3 times.  Again, how many F *($*R*#$* times am I going to have to install this F*#$*#&$*# software?????????????????
On top of that, HP is dumbing down their software everytime they update.  The first HP I had, I could receive the faxes to my computer so that if I didn't want to print them, I didn't have to.  On their next round of "upgrades" (said laughingly), they eliminated that (guess they weren't selling enough ink if all the trash faxes didn't automatically print).  You used to be able to include a computer generated cover sheet too.  That has also been eliminated (again, resulting in more ink used because you now have to print the cover sheet before faxing).
I've had enough!  I'm ready to jump the HP ship.  As stated on the customer support board, they don't give a **bleep** about their customers.  They've outsourced their tech support (so that you can't understand the ppl that are supposed to be helping you) and they've done everything they can to make you use more ink.  Not to mention all the time I've lost installing and uninstalling the **bleep** software.

I'm not new to computers but am new forums.  I need help with my J5780 officejet all in one.  I cannot scan.  I get an error message about the "CD I'm trying to scan"...which I'm not.  I found something similar on some board but cannot find any help.  I also read the that I should search first but I can't even do that with any success.  I guess I need lottsa help.  I never had trouble with scannng before, but I sure am now.  Thanks.

  • Error Message when attempting to install Solution Centre for HP OfficeJet J5780

    Hi,
Each time I try and install the HP Solutions Centre software for my Office Jet J5780 on my laptop (Microsoft Windows Starter 7 32Bit) I am confronted with the following error message:
    "Micorsoft Visual C++ Runtime Libary
    Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\Users\.....
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusal way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information"
Any help would be much appreciated!!

    Hello Sophia10,
    Welcome to the Forums!
I noticed your post about the Runtime Error you are getting when you try to install your printer. I have a few suggestions to hopefully get it installed and working for you.
First of all, I would suggest performing a clean boot:
How to perform a clean boot in Windows
    Next, try reinstalling the printer:
HP Officejet Full Feature Software and Driver Download
If the installation still does not work, try this:
Running Microsoft's Fix it tool, which will fix corrupted registry keys, etc:
Fix problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled
Try to reinstall the printer again.
Please let me know how this goes! Good luck

  • Officejet j5780 All-in-One awful noise

When printing, my j5780 makes a racket sounding like a machine gun.  It seems to be coming from below or behind the printer cartridges which are positioned to the right.  It still prints, but it sounds like it's going to break.

Mine does this too - regardless of whether the cartridges are actually present.  It seems to do with the mechanics which move the tray underneath the cartridge home position.  Any solutions?

  • Officejet 6500 part id

I'm in the process of repairing my mother's printer listed above. It has the seemingly common printer cartridge jam to the right. The sponge tray under the cartridge holder, to catch excess ink for when the cartridge holder is idle or printer is off, doesn't move forward when initializing a printing job and causes the cartridge holder to jam to the right. The white gear that drives the tray forward is driven by a smaller part with two black gears, which itself is driven by a metal spline shaft. The part with two gears seems worn around the gear attached to the spline shaft, and can't drive the tray's gear to move it forward.  The link below has some pics to illustrate what I'm referring to:https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=5E046E0AC151A4B5!96008&authkey=!APoAYE-n4YvSkuQ&ithint=folder%2cI see HP no longer services this printer but I'd like to ID the part so I can find it elsewhere.Thank you.

The service center or HP should sell them too I would think

  • Officejet j5780 all-in-one; print in Black only

I do not require color print capability on my j5780, I want to print in Black only (I also own a Photosmart 6380 for color needs).
A new Black cartridge has been installed and the spent tri-color cartridge has been left in-place.
PROBLEM: The printer's LED window now displays the message "Cartridge error: Cartridge on the left [i.e. tri-color] must be replaced."
Prior to replacing the Black cartridge I was able to print in Black only; now, it appears that capability has been lost. I do not want to install a new tri-color cartridge (particularly at HP's price) just to restore Black-only print capability.
QUESTION: Is it possible to reset, or otherwise over-ride, the printer's color cartridge requirement to in order to achieve Black-only printing?

    Hello DisgustedOne,
What may have happened is that while you were printing in black only, the black ink may have ran out, then the printer started using the tri-color cartridge to create black. When the tri-color cartridge ran out, you replaced the black, but are still getting an error to replace the tri-color cartridge.
Some HP printers allow for what is called backup mode, where the printer only uses one of the two cartridges, an example can be found in the following link:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01625311&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
There are a couple things you can try:
    1. Set the printer to print in black only (can be done in the printer prefs, usually under a grayscale setting)
    2. Take out the color cartridge altogether and see if it will print.
If both of those options fail, unfortunately, you will need to replace the color cartridge.

  • HP Officejet J5780 AIO - Software Installation error message with OS Win7

During a Full Version software installation (from HP web site) at the point of "Device Installation" the message "Fatal error " popped up followed by the immediate uninstallation of "unecessary components". The procedure reinstalled data to completion. All desktop icons were present including "HP Support Assistant" and "HP Print and Scan Doctor".
On clicking the icon "HP Solution Center (SC))" to access all features of the software the following message popped up "HP SC cannot run because your  device installation is not complete." This message then directs me to the START button to access a solution via the HP HELP and SUPPORT. I did not find the solution there.
Ironically other laptops in the family can connect to the printer (USB connection) and be able to access the full features of the software.
My laptop had an earlier version of the printer software prior to me attempting to reinstall.
HELP please!!!!! How can I get my laptop to complete installation by configuring the printer device.

    Hi,
I will certainly study and try your suggested solution. Another non-HP "HELP" said that my system has corrupted Registry and Software files that are infectious and suggested that I use their Unlimited Software and Technical Support to clean up my corrupted files. They also advised me not to back up my files on external storage devices as these would, in turn, become infected/corrupted.
I then decided to join the HP Forum as I couldn't access online help direct from HP.
You will hear from me soon.

  • HP Officejet J5780 Sensor not detecting paper

My alignment paper is printing, but when I feed it through the document feeder on top to align cartridges, like it asks me to, I get an error message after the paper goes through the feeder that no paper was detected. This causes an error message "alignment failed". I have done the troubleshooting available online and have determined that there is a bad sensor on the paper feeder, but the equipment is not very old. What do I do?

I would suggest putting the alignment sheet directly on the scanner glass bed rather than feeding it through the document feeder. See here for alignment details.

  • J5780 officejet all in one

I have a Gateway desktop and a HP Officejet J5780 All in One.  I scanned about two weeks ago and  it was fine. Last week there were 21 updates by Microsoft. When I tried to scan it scans then when the document is almost finished it stops and gives me message
An error occurred with trhe HP Scanning application. Try the following steps. After each step try scanning again.
    Restart the program
    Reboot the computer
Reinstall the HP Photosmart software that came with the device.
    Hide extended error information
    8, [ (4, 0, -2147023174)]
I did some tests and I can scan from Paint and Windows Fax and Scan.
I can also scan from the printer. (when I put paper in the feeder, the HP Solutions window opens up, then I set the scan to features from the printer a scan window pops up and I click scan the preview shows up and I click on finish.
The problem is when I put the paper in feeder the HP solutions window pops up and I click on Scan from my computer.
So it appears that I can scan from the printer using the HP scan software but cannot scan from the computer.
I did reinstall the software many times and appears that this happened after the windows updates.  I tried the Scan doctor and it did a print and scan test and everything check out OK.
Is there any way to correct this?  I am using a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

    Hi,
Please make sure the DPI Settings are set as normal (100%). The HP Software supports 100% DPI only and any different value may cause such behavior:
Right click on a empty area of your desktop and click on Personalize.
Towards the bottom left corner, click on the Display link.
In the left pane, click on the Set custom text size (DPI) link.
Make sure the DPI value is set to 100%
    Reboot your PC
Apply the changes and Reboot or Re-Logon as required.
Please let me know if that may help,

  • My HP J5780 printer program does not bring up the desktop icon for faxing. The HP Solution Ctr fails

As stated above, the icon that use to come up on the desktop when you clicked the HP Solution Center (use to be able to scan/fax/etc. by clicking the selected item on the icon) does not come up.  Instead I get the following error message when I click on the HP Solution Center:  Parsing error in file C:/Program Files (x86)/hp/Digital Imaging/bin/hpqscloc/1033.xml
The printer will fax using the panel on the printer.  Everything was working ok prior to replacing the printer with HP8500A Plus.  At which time I deleted all files and programs associated with the J5780 printer and installed the software for the 8500A printer.  I was not satisfied with the 8500A, so I removed the software for the 8500A from the computer and then restored my computer to a prior date when the J5780 was installed and working ok.  Another problem that I have with the J5780 printer follows:  Prior to having a WIN7 computer, the printer would print on both sides of the paper.  Since installing the WIN7 computer, it will not print on both sides.  I have discussed this problem with HP in the past but still do not have a fix for this problem.  If anyone can help me on these two problems, I would really appreciate it.
Does anyone have the Starter CD for WIN7 systems for the HP Officejet J5780.  If so, could you make a copy for me and I will pay you for it.
Thanks for your consideration and efforts.
