HP Photosmart 7525 error 0x6100004c

I have a new HP Photosmart 7525 printer that is less than 4 months old. All of a sudden I started to see General printing error 0x6100004c on my product screen.
I looked at the solution suggested in the previous posts to remove the cartridges but when I open the cartridge access door,  I am not able to access the cartridges as they stop only to the right corner where they are covered with plastic. They dont move to the center.
Please let me know what to do to solve the problem.
Thanks!!

Hello rakasi,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you're receiving an error stating "0x6100004c" using the Photosmart 7520. I will do my best to assist you! Please make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector. I just want to see if this makes a difference.
Follow this entire HP document on 'Ink System Failure' or a '0x...' or a 'C2...' Error Message Displays on the Front Panel. If you're receiving the same error message, then please contact HP technical support for further assistance. Click here to find out: HP Worldwide Contact.
Good luck.

  • My iPhone cannot find my AirPrint printer HP Photosmart 7525.  What do I do?

My iPhone and iPad cannot find any AirPrint Printers.  MY HYP Photosmart 7525 is AirPrint compatible, what can I do?

    Hey kennethfrommascoutah,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Since you are having trouble using AirPrint follow this section of the article.
    About AirPrint
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
    If you're unable to print
Check these things if you are unable to print, or if you see the message "No AirPrint Printers Found."
Make sure your printer has paper, and enough ink or toner installed.
Make sure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iOS device.
Make sure your printer has power and is turned on. Try turning your printer off and then back on again to see if it resolves your issue.
Check to see if your printer has any error lights or indicators displayed on the printer's control panel. Check the documentation that came with your printer to clear any errors displayed.
Check with your printer's manufacturer to see if any firmware updates are available for your printer. Check your printer's documentation or contact the printer vendor for more information. A firmware update may be available, even if you just bought your printer.

  • Photosmart 7525 won't scan to mac...HELP!

I recently bought an iMac (OSX 10.9.4) and an HP Photosmart 7525 e-all-in-one printer.  The print and fax work fine, but I cannot scan to my computer.
I've installed the HP software from the HP download site, but I still get a message on the printer that says "No computer is connected"  How do I fix this??
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi @mfspectrum,
I see by your post that you are unable to scan. I can help you with this.
Enable the scan to computer settings. A 'No Computer Detected' or 'Connection Error' Message Displays during Scanning. Go to Solution two: Check the Scan to Computer setting, Step one: Check the Scan to Computer setting.
Check the driver name that is installed for the printer. The Airprint driver might be installed instead of the Printer's driver. (usually defaults to Airprint)
Click the Apple menu and then click System Preferences. Click Printers & Scanners, highlight the printer name on the left side and on the right side of the screen should show the name.
If the printer name shows Airprint then that is the Apple drivers, delete it and add the printer name back in from the list. Click the - sign to delete the driver and then click the + sign to add the driver, might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name to add it in.
    Try and scan again.
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
    Have a nice day!
    Thank You.

  • Fax from computer to photosmart 7525 gets cancelled after spooling

I can fax directly from printer, but when I use the HP software or print function on the computer to set up fax and send, the progress goes from spooling to cancelled without any error notices. I have a Dell XPS 8500 running 8.1 and Photosmart 7525 connected by USB and wirelessly. They communicate just fine with the scan and print functions. Both are current on updates using the check for updates utility. I have a dedicated Voip phone line from Comcast and ther most current modem that I have slowed through the fax settings. I've spent hours reading forums on HP and Microsoft searching for exactly this issue. Please help

    Hi @xskilledtrades
The truth is, I don't know what is causing the fax from computer function to fail. I understand from your description that the fax is cancelling after spooling, but that you can print and scan just fine as well as fax directly from the printer. I suspect the issue has something to do with the driver, thus I suggest we remove the driver and reload it.
Please use the following steps to delete the printer/fax from device and printers, and the driver from the server properties.
    1. In the ‘Devices and Printers’ folder
    2. Choose ‘Print server properties’.
Win XP – With no printer selected, click ‘File’ then ‘Server Properties’.
Windows Vista – With no printer selected, press ‘Alt’ then click ‘File’ then ‘Server Properties’.
Windows 7/8 and 8.1 – Select any printer in the ‘Devices and Printers’ folder and click ‘Print Server properties’ above.
    3. Click on the ‘Drivers’ tab at the top of ‘Print server properties’ window
    4. Choose the printer you want to uninstall and click ‘Remove’
    5. Choose 'Remove driver only'
    6. The next screen will give a warning, letting you know that deleting the driver package will remove it from the system. Click ‘Yes’ to say that you are sure you want to do this.
If documents are stuck in the print spooler, you may see an error, cancel any documents pending in the print queue, or try restarting the print spooler, then try to remove the driver from ‘Print server properties’ again. If it still won’t remove the package, restarting the computer and the printer should resolve this ‘in use’ error and allow the driver to be removed.
If the you continue to get an 'in use' message follow the steps in the document here; The Specified Printer Driver is Currently in Use
After the driver is removed, open Start > All Programs > HP folder > Printer folder > HP Setup and Software (or the printer icon).
The Setup and software screen will open and you can click on Connect a new printer.
Thanks, I look forward to hearing back from you.

  • My new hp photosmart 7525 won't print

my new hp photosmart 7525 won't print and says it is "offline". In addition, the tray app error keeps coming on. I uninstalled my old printer. I have Vista.

    Hi @hannabanna
I would like to help you print to your 7525. Let's first address the tray app error, then we can focus on the printer offline message.
The tray app error seems to be stemming from the older software you have uninstalled, it appears something did not fully uninstall. Please complete the following steps.
Please note; I simply choose the printer I did for steps 3 because of the version of software, we will not be installing this printer, I only want to use it to perform a comprehensive uninstall.
Hold down the Windows Logo key () on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box, type %temp%
Delete all files and folders from the temp folder. Choose skip if any pop ups appear saying any of the files could not be deleted
Download the software and choose to save as, save to desktop > HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One Printer
After the software downloads and extracts, open the temp folder again, use the instructions from step 1.
Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
    Open folder Util
    Open folder CCC
If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have anon-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe
When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
Follow these steps to reset the registry settings and options for Windows Installer.
Hold down the Windows Logo key on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box
In the Open box, type msiexec /unregister, and then click OK.
Hold down the Windows Logo key on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the run box
In the Open box, type msiexec /regserver, and then click OK
*Note: there is a space between the c and the /
If you have any difficulty with this step, please use this link to perform it another way. Restarting Windows Installer
Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tool < How to Delete files using Disk Cleanup
Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
    Restart the computer
Download and run the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows
The HP Printer Install Wizard for Window was created to help Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 users download and install the latest and most appropriate HP software solution for their HP Printer.
Step 14 will help you to re-install the 7525. Once the 7525 is re-installed, please try printing. If you get the printer offline message, use the following document; 'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the HP Printer Will Not Print.
Please let me know if this resolves the issues, and or is you require further assistance. If you still get the tray app error, please let me know which printer you had before that you recently uninstalled. Thanks.

  • Photosmart 7525 - Mac OS 10.4 driver/software

HP no longer supports my PowerPC Mac, which runs Mac OS 10.4.11. Unfortunately, HP also generally does not make its printer drivers available outside of a full software suite install (as far as I can tell). If I had access to just the printer driver my guess is that it would work fine under 10.4.11, since later versions of Mac OS use the same printing system. (However, I have never been able to figure out where HP hides printer drivers in OS X.)
Fortunately, there are third party (hpijs and Gutenprint) drivers for many HP printers, but these do not yet include the Photosmart 7525.
HP also does not explain which drivers might work with other printers. I've generally been able to find one that works on a printer for which I do not have a "named" driver by trial and error. For example, I can print to the 7525 using a 7550 driver. However, I have no way to know if this is the best choice.
    Does anyone know:
    1. Is there a way to get HP's Photosmart 7525 driver without the software suite?
    2. If not, which other driver (i.e. one found in hpijs or Gutenprint) is likely to give the best printing results?
    3. Would the software listed at the link below, which includes "7500 series photosmart printers" work with the 7525?
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&softwareitem=ps-33827-2
    4. W
Also, is there third-party scanning software that might work with the 7525 on Mac OS 10.4?
    Thanks.
    - TSN

Unfortunately, since you are running Tiger v10.4.11, I think the highest iTunes version you can use is 9.
You should be able to purchase iTunes media on your current version of iTunes regardless.
Launch iTunes, select iTunes Store in the source list on the left. Click Sign In on the right side of the page. What happens when you do that?

  • Remove password for HP Photosmart 7525

Hi, everytime I want to fax it asks for a password (in inital set-up, I had to enter my email address and then asked for password). I do not have to enter email address anymore just the password. Is there a way to scan/fax to email without entering this information - id and pasword? Thank You...

    Hi anchor1,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I see that you are trying to fax from your Photosmart 7525 printer and you are being prompted for a password.
To better assist you, would you please provide some additional information:
Are you trying to do scan to email or are you trying to fax? The fax function does not require a username and password, but scan to email does.
How is the printer connected (USB cable or wireless)?
What operating system are you using on your computer? whatsmyos.com
If you are using the scan to email feature are you getting any connection errors? When setting up the scan to email feature did you choose auto-login or store email?  If you chose auto-login it would have stored the email and the pin for scan to email.
    Thank you.

  • Used black ink from my HP Photosmart C6380 won't work in my new HP Photosmart 7525

The black ink from my HP Photosmart C6380 won't work in my new HP Photosmart 7525.  The cartridge is a 564 for both printers.  However, I get the message that the ink cartridge has been used previously even though it is a newer cartridge that I had used in my C6380.  Why won't this work?

    Hello LTron,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I see you are looking to use a cartridge previously installed in a different printer, the Photosmart 7525 says it a used cartridge.
If you are trying to use this cartridge before using the setup cartridges that come with the 7525, it will not work. Once the printer is initialized with the setup cartridges you would be able to use other ones.
If you have already used the setup cartridges, this error should only be letting you know that it has been installed in a printer before. Hitting OK, next, etc should clear the error.
