HP Protect tools and windows 10 (HP 6930p)

Now that windows 10 is upon us... i want to ask a few simple questions. I know that HP will say that it doesnt support windows 10 for the 6930p because of yada yada yada... but windows 10 is now available for any windows 7 device and that includes the 6930p that comes with windows 7 support. So the way i see it, anyone with windows 7 should have windows 10 support. so will HP release the drivers to support windows 10. i ask this important question because i ran a seperate hard drive to test windows 10. On it, it told me to remove HP protect tools, my encryption (sounds like communism doesnt it?), and Display link. because i like HP Protect tools and the set up of my computer... i do not understand why it would force me to remove these. so after doing some searching, i noticed there are updates to protect tools but i want to ask will these updated versions support windows 10 and if so can someone post a link. Today, after login using password, the Protect tools pops up and shows the finger reader setting ( setting which was in Windows 8.1 before upgrade ) taken automatically, and asked to save the config. Now I can login using finger reader successfully. I am not sure Windows 10 updated any files automatically after findin the Protect tools. Give a try reinstalling the same sp63727.exe and update this thread.

HP Protect Tools blocking Windows 10 install

Apparently need to uninstall HP Protect Tools in order to install Windows 10. Get error message "Problem occurred" when try to uninstall HP Protect Tools. What now?

Potoshop's tools and windows disappears with Leopard's Spaces.

I was having very annoying problem with PS CS3 and spaces. Interface disappears when you focus a program that is on other space. This was with Photoshop CS3 and Flash CS3 trials. I'm very sad about this. Instead of optimizing the process its actually making it more annoying. For photoshop I used "tab" key twice to hide/show the interface, then it gets back. For flash, F4 does the same thing. But it's annoying.....
Mac Pro 2 x 2.8GHz Xeons with 2GB RAM.

I've noticed that same issue if I use the dock icons to act as application/space switchers but only on Adobe apps most notably Photoshop but occasionally Illustrator too it seems. I've adopted a different solution which seems to solve that options bar/tool box disappeaing act. In System Preferences/Exposé there is an option to use hot corners. I've assigned Spaces to my lower right corner. Flicking my cursor to that corner gives me a graphic image of all my spaces and windows open in each. In that image I can select my Photoshop space and don't experience the interface disappearing issue.

LWAPP upgrade tool and Windows 7 (64 bit)

I know this tool does not have a version for windows 7 but the company foisted the OS off on me to "Test" It works fine with windows 7 32 bit but I have windows 7 64 bit.
So, I was attempting to install and use the autonomous to LWAPP tool to upgrade an 1131 AP to LWAPP. I DL'ed version 3.4 which is the most current I could find. unfortunately, it gives me an error installing saying it could not read from the IPUT file and after installation it is convinced I already have a TFTP server running, which I do not. In addition to all that, when attempting to Uninstall the tool it says _SETUP.DLL is missing.
With that information in hand I found the _SETUP.DLL on another machine I use and copied it over which resulted in no improvements of note. I did register the dll as well. Any ideas?

I assume you are using the RTM (Release To Manufacturing) version. I would suggest, if possible, you might want to use the new XP Virtual PC feature (run XP on Windows 7), if the version of Windows 7 you are running supports it. I think the VM runs XP SP3 32-bit.

You could also try changing the advance properties of the executable and indicate that it should be run in "compatability mode" of Windows XP 32-bit (I think that's an option, but my Windows 7 computer is at home)
Whatever route you take, you will receive no support from Cisco in this configuration. If you can avoid it, it might be better to not do LWAPP upgrades with Windows 7 until something official comes out.
petenugent - please be aware that Windows 7 was released to many people on August 6th. The general public release (of the exact same media) is due on October 22.

No Protection Tools! I have enabled enhanced security. This is Acrobat XI on Windows 7 64-bit. Did same install on a Win8 server and it's fine.

Here's what happened after your email:
1. I went into Acrobat and clicked the down arrow as you described. I
previously had been clicking in the View menu. I saw the Protection
tools and I was so excited.
2. So then I clicked on "allow multiple panels open" whereupon the
Protection tools disappeared! They did not reappear when I unclicked the
"allow multiple panels open".
3. Remembered that I hadn't reinstalled the updates after reinstalling
Acrobat in hopes that would fix this problem, so I installed the
updates. I'm now on 11.0.07.
Sadly, still no protection tools appearing in either the View-> Toolsets
or the down-arrow in the upper-right corners of the Tools panel. Bummer.
This is so strange, since the same installation worked great on our Win8
server!

Hp probook 4540s .. Finger print sensor is not appearing in hp protect tools

Hello ... I've recently bought HP Probook 4540s and everything works fine except the finger print sensor My labtop has windows 8 installed and all drivers and devices are workig fine but the finger print sensor is not appearing in the windows device manager or in the hp protect tools neither.. At the beginning i thought it's a hardware problem untill the operating system detected the finger print sensor while i'm logging on this happened just once and i dont know how to get the sensor work again I've installed the latest validity finger print driver and hp protect tools and hp security manager everything from hp drivers site but nothing helps What do you think i miss here ??

Recovery protect tools

I am using Protect Tools on Windows XP with encrypted disk.
XP was hanging so I ran check disk etc - still hanging
So I edited services / system.ini / boot.ini
I have switched off too many and windows says "The system cannot log you in"
How do I gain access to reset
I cannot use Safe Mode as I think its switched off in Protect Tools

Hi,
The drive at this point is basically a paper weight. With what you've disabled, if you can't boot into it at all, you won't be able to unlock it. At most you might be able to format it. Either way whatever is on the drive is lost.

When you don't see a full set of drivers for the operating system you installed on your PC's support page, that means that HP does not support it for that operating system--which means that some of the devices will not work or work correctly on that operating system.

Adobe Reader XI is not working. I have used the cleanup tool and reinstalled it. I try to open a .pdf file in the program the window will open and load all the tabs but I am never able to actually interact with them.

I am unable to use adobe reader xi. I have tried to use the clean up tool and re install the reader. That doesn't seem to help. I go to open the pdf file in the reader and the window will load but I am not able to do anything past that point. Almost as if the program freezes once loaded I never get a not responding error until I open the task manager on the computer.

Can you open Reader by itself? If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

App uninstall and Windows File protection

Hello,
I am having problems uninstalling Apps created with snapshot. The apps
install fine but when uninstalling Windows file protection pops up with
the prompt for the cd. Is there a work around to this? Can I hack the
registry to point to an i386 directory and copy the cd? I have read about
turning it off by using the hexeditor on the dll and the other registry
settings but is this the way to go?
Environment is: ws XP sp2, workstation agent is 4.01 ir7,server side is
Zen4.01 sp1

I want to get rid of the Bing screen but there is no "menu at the top of the Firefox window" for me to "select Tools and then select the Add-ons menu item. "

I suddenly have a "Bing" screen when I sign onto Firefox---and I want to get rid of it. The support section of Firefox says
1. "From the menu at the top of the Firefox window, seledt Tools and then select the Add-ons menu item."---but I see no "menu item" nor Tools, much less Add-ons.
2. "In the Add-ons window, click on the Extensions panel."---but how do I find the Add-ons window?
3. Find the Bing Bar and Search Helper Extension in the list and click Disable for each of them."---but what and where exactly is that?
At the top of the screen is only a Yahoo icon on the left and to the right of it a search box, "Web Search,", "My Apps," Yellow Pages," "Weather," "Updates," and "Skype." to the right of those there is a green cross saying "Add more apps. to your toolbar" and to the right of that a sort of gear shift looking icon saying "toobar settings."
So, in short, how do I get rid of the Bing screen and how do I access those Tools?

How to create a system image
from Windows powershell (admin) type
