I do not understand how to remotely wipe the phone using icloud, find my phone or my apple id and password. Kindly explain step by step as I am an older individual and I am confused

Check USB connections

To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you checked your connections and are still seeing the error message, check for hardware issues.

Same thing happened to me. I ended up completely uninstalling itunes then downloaded it again from http://www.apple.com/itunes/. If you're using firefox, for some reason itunes will not download and I don't know if using googlechrome will also have problems,so just to be sure that it will work on your first try, use internet explorer when you download itunes. Once again..... I have had to reset my account password several times and it still will not work. I am getting very frustrated as I have been a firefox user for several years, but have had problems with windows. For now, I am using a tablet until I can get back on windows. Since we can't read minds :-) we need more troubleshooting details to help you:
# What model of Android tablet or phone are you using? What version of Android are you using (e.g. Jellybean 4.1-4.3, Kitkat 4.4, Lollipop 5.0, 5.1, etc)?
# What version of Firefox for Android are you using? (please try the latest version which is currently FF37.0.1)
# What did you do exactly, what happened and what did you expect? (details please! in particular what steps did use to get to "I have had to reset my account password several times and it still will not work" and which "account" do you mean?)

Hi David , Contact your bank they may have disabled your credit/ debit card because of an unusual amount of small purchaches of APPS , ALBUMS etc....... Has your name been changed if so create a new Apple ID and RELAX. BANKS TREAT THIS AS FRAUD they may need you to confirm you purchased them APPS.

Just an input for those who might experience the same thing. Using Black Berry Z30, once you have the dialog box saying:WARNING -"You have entered an incorrect password 5 times. After 10 unsuccessful attempts your device data will be erased." and shows that you still have atleast 3-4 available chances to enter the code, just type "blackberry" thereafter another screen will pop-up and will ask to enter again your password. As long as you are 100% sure about your password, you'll be able to enter and get it back. Now, I am enjoying again my Z30.
