Then you or your son has encrypted the backup in iTunes. This password is 100% whatever you or him put in when you turned on to encypt backups (its a check box in iTunes) and it has nothing to do with that code that was on the iPhone (unless by chance he decided to make it the same thing).
Anyhow, you can guess at an encryption password as many times as you like. Since it's a local encryption, there is no way to reset it. You either get it right eventually and then the restore will complete and you can turn if off in iTunes after that (using the password that worked), or the backup will never be usable without the password.
Keep trying to guess it until you give up, then just move on with setting the iPhone us as new.

When you go to Settings > WiFi and see your network name does it have a padlock icon to the right of the network name? If so it is a secured network with a password.
How did you connect to your network from the iPad? From Settings > Wifi? Was a network password requested? Was it accepted?
If you touch the ">" to the right of your network name what do you see for IP Address, Subnet Mask, Router, and DNS? -

You do. Your system is either Windows or Mac (or maybe a couple of other less popular choices) and a version of one or the other.
When you set up your machine, you were asked for an administrator user name and password. You need both of these to install software. -

I recently had to get a new windows computer, old one crashed. My tech guy got all my itunes library over to the new one, and all my songs are there. However, some won't play and ask me for the password for the apple id they were purchased under. 2 of these ids are obsolete and I have no access to those accts. The songs all played on my old computer without prompting me for a password.
Any ideas how I can get around this hassle and get them all to play? We're talking about 800 songs that are being obstinate. Select the store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.

Regarding Mail: When I return to my computer after it has gone to sleep, my accounts go offline, and are always asking me for the password. THis is very annoying. How can I prevent this?
Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select Change Settings for Keychain "login". In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ First Aid
If the box marked Keep login keychain unlocked is not checked, check it.
Select
Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access. -
On my iPad I have a working icloud that I have complete access to, but on my iPhone it keeps asking me for the password for it, but I do not know it! And the email that I used is not activated anymore! How do I delete the icloud account on my phone?

If you intend to keep using iCloud on your iPad, your best course of action would be to update your Apple ID/iCloud information so that you have a known password and it is associated with an active email address. You may find the following articles helpful:

Every time I open my "E-Mail" account, it always ask me for the password. Why? How can I lock in my password permently?

I have succesfully connected a MacBook Air, an iPad and two iPhones to the wireless network in this hotel. Apple TV can see the network and "connects" to the network, but w/o asking for password. I expected to see a screen immediately after selecting the network that asked me for the password as did all of my other devices. ATV did not ask me for a password. When I go to Settings>General>Network, it shows the name of the hotel wireless network, but I can't communicate with the network. It can't set date and time. When I try to enter my Apple account name and password, it tells me it can't log in w/o setting date and time.
Any ideas on how to connect to this network?I am having the same problem. In my hotel when I connect my laptop a screen will pop up and you have to hit the button "I Accept Terms". However I can't do that with the ATV. I called the internet provider and they said they could not help me. Any ideas? Do you think the guy just doesn't know what he can do for me? I am thinking I will call later and hope to get a different technician who might know how to help connect me.

It is trying to restore my new ipod from the backup cloud, but it keeps asking me for the passwords of three different itunes accounts, two i know are my friends accounts and I don;t even know whoose the third is. I must have some of their music on my library or something, but it won't backup without these passwords it seems. Is there a way to get around this? I have the music in my Itunes library and can listen to it all I want and burn it on cds but I cant get it to go on my ipod without their passwords. Can i switch it and just have it sync to my computer and not this icloud? My other ipod didnt ask me for these passwords when I tried to sync it.
If you have music that was purchased on different iTunes accounts than the one you use, then you must provide the password, otherwise the tunes are not considered yours. You can turn off iCloud and just use the usual USB sync method. But I wonder whether you'll have the same problem?

That is the activation lock. Your iPad will be useless unless you can remove it.

My MACbook pro stopped connecting to my home network out of the blue. Keeps on asking me for the password although it is saved on keychain . Haven't changed anything, all of my other apple devices have not been affected.

My daughter forgot her password but her iPod was never synchronize with my iTunes library. We have followed the suggested steps but when it comes to restoring the settings it says 'cannot connect to iTunes support server'. We can't get any further than this. Any suggestions?
Was it really update server?
Try:
- Powering off and then back on your router.
- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
Public DNS — Google Developers
OpenDNS IP Addresses
- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem
