My ipod naaIno is stuck in the lock position, my hold switch will not turn off even when I move it. I have tried restoring it and resetting it and it still comes back on in the hold/locked postion. It will only play when placed on a docking station and then I cant scroll to pick songs, I can only go to next song using buttons on docking station.

You will need to have the hold switch replaced.

The lock on my time machine will not come off

I am trying to set up Time Machine to work with my newly acquired time capsule. But the lock on time machine seems to be stuck on! I can't get the lock off to turn time machine on.

My account is the admin account. I saw some guys in the Apple Store and they suggested something similar in that it may to do with key chains - well I have run the repair key chains routine and that doesn't solve it.
In fact I think the problem is to do with locking - not just in Time Machine. For instance if I open my print and scan preferences the gold lock shows locked. If I click the lock it doesn't open - it just stays locked.

My daughter dropped her ipad (on the carpet with a case)and the screen went blank. It will not turn off with force-off nor does the apple icon appear.

After installing iTunes and iPod, my computer will not turn off

I am running Windows XP, and have just installed my new iPod nano and iTunes. Now my computer will not turn off. When I select "Turn off computer" in the start menu, the computer goes through the usual process of shutting down -- then it restarts automatically every time! Once it has started up again, it sends an Error report to windows -- but they are not coming forward with a solution for this problem. It appears as a problem created by an "Unknown device driver". I now have to turn my computer off by the wall. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Try running the Combo update first ... OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.4 (Combo), and once it is successfully downloaded, then try to download 10.8.5.
Sometimes the combo will correct any minor glitches in the system and also ensure all necessary updates to that point are included.

I tried several times to reset my ipot shuffle,
and to install new from the original ipod CD.
In itunes there is no problem, Ican see the ipot in the list, and there is no failure.
But when I disconnect it, and turn it on with the switch,
the green status led on the front is lightning, and it will
not turn off.
When I push buttons, there is no response.
Before this failure, the green status light went out
after 3 seconds when switch on.
what can I do?
I dont feel like wasting my time trying to get it

I have the same problem. It happend when I deleted and reinstalled the Itunes software. The software installation ask to "format" the Ipod, the applcation crashed and since then I can download music in the Ipod, I can see it connected to Itune and to My Computer, but I cannot use it to listened to music by itself. The green light doesn't turn off and nothing happen.

Have you tried to hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds or so, until you see a silver apple. See if you can get it to reboot.

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
