Given that the file is selected then the next possibility is that you're exporting two files with the same name. When you do this the export breaks down as the second file would overwrite the first. Check the filenames.

If it's getting stuck in step 2 it probably means the previous backup is corrupt someway. I would remove the last backup (copy it to another location for safe keeping) and then try to backup again manually.
If you tell me what kind of computer you have I can give further instructions for moving your backup to a different location.
What happens if you cancel the sync and do a manual backup?
right click on the device in the left-hand column of itunes, and select backup from the menu that appears. -

I have the new IPad and can't connect via bluetooth to any of my apple devices (IPhone 4s and appleTV) neither from my new IPhone 4s. When I turn the Bluetooth on, both devices keep in searching mode... I don't know what to do now... Please help... I can't pair any device because they can't find whitin themselves.

Just updated to IOS 7 and two issues:
First when I connect my iPhone to my computer I get this error message:itunes was unable to provider data from sync services". I'm not sure what this really means...
The second issue is when I try to select "Manually Manage Music"
The iPhone "My iPhone" is synced with another iTunes libary on "MY-PC". Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library? An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library."
So... I don't want to do that, but I do what to be able to Manage my music. I'm not sure what it means by being synced to another iTunes unless it means to an older version of itunes?
Anyone have any ideas?I cannot address the sync services error right now, but the error that you receive when you change from sync to manually manage music is what happens when you change. Once you change to manually manage music, it erases all of the music and will only put the music that you want on the phone, content that you manually drag over to it. I have uninstalled iTunes following the recommended order and reinstalled numerous times but still freezes when I connect my iPhone. It works fine when I connect my phone to another pc (Windows 7). What else can I try?
Whenever I update iTunes it gives me the following error:
The application was unable to start correctly (0cx0000142). Click Ok to close the application.
The file in error is DifXInst64.exe.
