HT201263 I have completed these steps several times, and my iphone still says connect to itunes to activate, I just want to get past the activation screen.. and it will not do it. Any other options?
I cannot get past the connect to itunes to activate screen, i can't even get to the home page with apps and stuff. I bought the iphone used, and was hoping to set it up with prepaid, but I can't get it to activate. I connect it to itunes, and it downloads the new software, and still will not go past the activation screen.
It sounds like you bought a jailbroken phone (assuming you didn't jailbreak it yourself). Take it back for a refund.

Do you have to have a phone number attached to iphone 4 verizon to get past the activation screen?
I got an iPhone 4 32gb off of ebay, I do not have it yet. what made me buy it was that it said that it was a unlocked 32gb iphone 4 for $44.99 stuck in a boot loop, I googled that and seen as easy fix got excited then I ordered and paid for it and it is on its way. then I was just looking at the photos again a few minutes ago then noticed that in the one photo there is NO SIM slot, then I said hahaha that is not unlocked as it is a CDMA, then figured that it is a Verizon iPhone so now I am needing to know if one can get past that activation screen if the iPhone does not have a phone number?
I too have no idea what version iOS is on it. I do know it is a CDMA as it does not have the SIM SLOT on the side of the phone.
I do not know if Sprint iPhone 4 is without a SIM slot or even if they use the iPhone 4 on Sprint so it has to be a Verizon then yes?
reguadless the question remaines the same, does it ( a CDMA) have to have a phone number attached to it in order to get it to work using everything on the phone besides the phone part ie making Phone calls and texting?as I stated I have NOT recived it in the mail yet, I discovered that it is a CDMA by looking at the pictures again. as just moments before I was reseacring the psychial differences between an iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s and it showed and said that the major way to tell the difference is them cuts in the band on the phone where iPhone 4 has one on top and the iPhone 4s does not, the iPhone 4s has four cuts in it two on each side so when I seen the picture of the top of the iPhone and seen that it did NOT have a cut in the band on top I said to myself wow they miss that it is an iPh9one 4s and not just an iPh9one 4, so I googled how to fix a boot loop and found the answer more then once being the same answer so I bought it.
then I took a look at the pictures again after all was said and done befre I have yet to recive said iPhone 4 32GB then I noticed it does not have the SIM tray then said oh *&*%^Y$#*$&$#(# that is a CDMA they cannot be unlocked it is either a Verzion or Srint. as I already have an iPone 4 16GB and I cannot get it unlocked becuase they the powers to be them a$$ whipes that love to control other people lives past a law stating that one now has to get permission from AT&T / T Moble to get your phone unloced so I cannot as I have not had the iPhone 16GB but for a week as I too got it off of Ebay thinking I'll just get it unlocked like I did with my other iPhone 4 8GB that I only paid like 2 dollars and some change off of ebay to get it unlocked with no problem within a week it was unlocked. someone stoled that iPhone 4 bGB
so I got that iPhone 4 16 GB for under 100 dollars in good working order and looks off of ebay just about a week or so before then found that I cannot get it unloceked due to that new law that was passed about unlocking phones. so now I am in comminications with AT&T getting the old run around about getting a stright answer out of them if I keep it ( a second hand phone) on there gophone plan for 6 months can I then get it unlocked, question to them and get an answer that does not state a yes or no as it is a yes or no question.
but so yeah I am to get that iPhone 4 32GB ph9one in the mail on firday(tomorrow) I do want to open it and see if I can get it out of the boot loop just to see if I can and I may just keep it for an ipod use that is way I am wondering if I got a have it attached to a carrier to activate it in case I restore it at any time. -
I have and Ipod touch 3G and it has a message in Red saying "Ipod is disabled for 16,333 minutes"
I did not have it backed up to a computer and it has 122 books on tape installed on it so I don't want to erase the whole thing and start trying to download all the books on it again.
I am just trying to get to the IPOD passcode screen.

i have tried everything suggested on the web but nothing works
1. Restore after rebooting and disabling your security software.
2. Try to restore it on a different computer.
3. Take it to the Apple Retail Store (or a friend with a Mac) and try to restore it there. You will need an appointment at the genius bar.
Good Luck! Mine worked after rebooting computer, reseating cables, disabling security software, and only running iTunes. If I sync once with the security software running it is a matter of time before the computer won't be able to recognize the iPhone, and if I forget to turn off security software before restore it fails to restore. -
My mac keeps freezing upon startup. It will get to the blue screen and promptly freeze. If I manage to get past the blue screen, and open up youtube on google chrome, it will freeze before it loads youtube. I've tried safeboot and disk repair, nothing seems to work. I even tried to factory reset it but it wont connect to my internet when I reboot with power + option.. any ideas?

The events of the last month, with the photographs have suddenly disappeared from the iPhoto Library. I have opened these successfully several times during the last few weeks, but on opening them yesterday they weren't there any longer. No idea how this could have happened! Is it possible to retrieve ???
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

If Safari crashes on launch and you don't have another web browser, you should be able to launch Safari by starting up in safe mode.
You may have installed the "Genieo" or "InstallMac" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove this file in the same way:
~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.ltvbit.plist
If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those.
After removing the malware, remember to reset your home page in all the web browsers affected, if it was changed.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)

Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)

Thank you for the response. I have tried starting in safe mode and it is not taking. The cycle continues to reboot after about a minute or two. Once when I tried starting in force OS X mode holding down "X" when starting I did get the scrolling text but then the prompt asked to exit or enter a command. Not knowing what command to enter, I typed exit. This did not resolve the problem obviously. I am supposed to get a call from an Apple person later this morning. I am hoping he/she can help.
I am not sure I know how to get to Disc Utilities if I can't get past the grey screen. Any suggestions? Should I boot off of my system discs?
