Jailbreaking voids the warranty. Apple will not repair your iPod and as soon as they realise it's been jailbroken, they will return it to you in the same condition that you sent it to them.

@lllaass I just cracked the screen on my Ipod touch 8gb 4th gen which i just bought wednesday from Target. However, I have one of those military grade portective films over it. As Peter says above, only an Apple Store genius can advise you.
But to further clarify, you seem to postulate that if Apple helps you, the cure would be a replacement. That is not necessarily true. Let them look at it and advise you what the remedy is. They may offer you nothing (saying it's your fault), or they may offer you a solution (keeping your current iPhone), or possibly a replacement.

Ralph is correct. When you replace anything on your phone yourself, you void any warranty that is left on the phone, and even any support thereafter. Apple does not support third party products, and they will not touch your phone if you are willing to replace things yourself instead of spending the extra to go to a store to do it right. Sorry.

Assuming you mean that you performed the repair yourself, it would seem that you either obtained a defective screen or you did some sort of damage when you replaced the screen. You can try asking for assistance on ifixit.com, a site dedicate to those attempting their own repairs, or you can take the iPad to a shop and pay them to try to correct the problem for you. Apple will no longer touch your iPad now that you've attempted your own repairs.

I got my iphone last august and it worked fine until my lock button broke. My phone was covered under warranty so apple replaced it. Lo and behold, my lock button broke once again this past week. I got home and got onto the apple support website to see where I could go from here since I don't want a broken phone for another year. I chatted with a representative in the chat room thing. I gave him my phone's serial and MEID number and he said my phone was still under warranty! I was shocked because the person at Verizon told me I wasn't under warranty and there was nothing that could be done. The apple guy told me that I could get my phone replaced and all I had to do was go to the apple store and swap it out for a new one. My question is, will by warranty be voided since I went to a third party repair shop? My phone wasn't fixed the guy just looked at it to see what the problem was and then put it back together. I know that once you do that your warranty is voided, but I feel like I am in a special circumstance since I did it thinking I was out of warranty since that's what I was told at Verizon. What should I do?

Nobody here can tell you what Apple will do as we don't work for them. Make a Genius Bar appointment at the Apple Store and see what they say. If they say no you have only lost your time and some gas but you will no for sure.

My iPod touch has been acting up lately and it doesn't seem to respond at times but I dropped it a while ago and their is a little dent on the bottom right barley noticeable and I'm wondering if apple will still replace it I'm still under warranty.
The dent happened a couple months ago and the iPod started to act up strangely since last week

I'm sure that Apple will continue to provide support for Mountain Lion and other previous versions of their operating system. They have always provided updates for most versions of their software, even though newer versions were released.

The way I did it was I got the free app sync:stream from the App Store and then added my ipod to my ps3's Bluetooth devices. Then went to audio settings and set output and input to 'Skaggs iPod' you then open the app and it will be listed under music as a media service. You then go to all tracks and click copy (press triangle) it will then begin to copy all of your songs onto your ps3 via Bluetooth. I haven't tried but I assume the same can be done with photos.
